CHAPTER 6
Going Native

A/N: I want to thank a particular JN fan for his great help on this story. He inspired me lots of new ideas, and helped me fixing spelling and grammar errors. Thanks, my friend!

And I would like to mention that this chapter is very fluffy! :D You'll surely enjoy this chapter if you like Jimmy x Cindy pairing.

Guest, Moster169, irockthe world: Thank you! Here's the next chapter!

So here we go!

Cindy's POV:

The next morning was a sunny day. I woke up realizing my head was buried in Jimmy's shoulder and my arms were wrapped around him in a rather tight embrace. Thinking about what was going on, I recalled last night's events. That darn spider tried to scare me, and Jimmy was kind enough to let me sleep with him in his treehouse. He was leaning towards me and I could feel his body's heat. He didn't seem to mind as a faint smile was upon his face. I could hear him slowly breathing in sleep.

I wrapped my legs around his and squeezed him. "Rise and Shine, Sleepy head!" I slowly whispered in his ears.

He turned slowly and opened his eyes. He seemed surprised to see me lying on him, but smiled a moment later. "Good morning, Cin!" he whispered back while his smile become wider. He embraced me back. That was so sweet!

"Had a good night, dear?" He whispered while fondling my hair.

"Uhmm..." I nodded as I curled into his warm embrace and closed my eyes. "It was actually great…" I said looking at his deep blue eyes. "How about yours?" I said with a grin.

He looked at me and smiled. "Same here," he said and grinned back. I embraced him tighter and leaned against him. We both closed our eyes and began to kiss. I was hearing my own heart beating crazily.

Before I could feel his lips on mine, I felt something crawling over my arm. It didn't feel like Jimmy's fingers, instead, it felt like a flurry of tiny paws of… that thing last night! I turned over and opened my eyes just in time to face the giant tarantula walking over me. Jumping over Jimmy's bed, I screamed as loudly as I could. I was moving my hands so quickly that caused the spider to be thrown to the ceiling. Jimmy looked confused at first, but when he saw the spider he quickly stood up and shielded me.

"Don't worry Cindy, I'll zap it now!" he said and turned his watch's orange ray on. The spider was chirping.

I couldn't believe it! One moment we're kissing and I'm like in heaven, and another moment that freaky spider is hissing on the roof. That's not fair! Jimmy tried to zap the spider several times, but every time the spider just dodged on the wooden ceiling. I realized that the spider wasn't as big as the one we encountered yesterday, but it wasn't a small one either. He was at least as tall as Humphrey.

"Come on! Hold still for a second, will ya?!" Jimmy said when he missed the spider yet again.

It began marching playfully on the ceiling and then came down and landed on Jimmy's bed. I looked at it curiously. It was a floppy spider with four pairs of legs and eight eyes. The spider was looking at us playfully, and as far as I could tell, it was smirking at him. It looked less harmful and more innocent than I imagined.

"Wait a minute," I gasped and glanced at the spider again. "I know you!"

"What?!" Jimmy said in shock.

I came closer to have a better look at the spider. It was one of the giant spider's children.

I'm sure you'll recall what happened the first time Jimmy and I were on the island. When he was trying to fix the hover car to make it run, he told Sheen to gather some shell rocks so Jimmy could make a substitute fuel. Sheen brought some "cool looking rocks" which turned out to be the giant spider's eggs.

We never made it to Australia, but we had to return the eggs, so we headed back to the island. Fortunately Jimmy was able to locate the coordinates, although one of the eggs was already hatched. When we arrived, we put the eggs where we found the giant web, but the spider baby didn't want to leave. Maybe it thought we were his parents.

"Jimmy, it's one of the giant spider's babies!" I said while patting the spider's head. He seemed to enjoy it. "You almost scared me, spidey!"

"The giant spider's baby? Are you sure it's actually one of them, Cindy?" Jimmy asked and looked at me uncertainly.

"I'm sure! Look at the pattern on its legs, I can tell it's the same," I said and scratched its floppy legs. "I have to admit you're freaky, but kinda cute in some way."

The spider turned around and made some more noises.

"Whoa, I can't understand what you're saying!" I said and held the arachnid in my hands. "Jimmy, could you translate what it is saying?"

"Just a second," Jimmy said and began fiddling with his watch. "Let see… He-or-she says that the snakes we encountered yesterday wanted to eat him/her, and we also saved him/her from those evil snakes when he/she was in your sack. And he/she says he/she's sorry that he/she scared you last night. He/she just wanted to thank us."

The spider chirped in a happy tone. Jimmy pressed a button on his watch while reading the rest, but suddenly blushed. "There are also a few more things he/she said that my translation protocol doesn't support yet…"

"My sack… wait a minute, you mean you were in my backpack the whole day?" I said.

The spider nodded.

"That means that the giant spider must have realized we were saving her child," Jimmy said and put his hand on his chin. "This explains why she didn't attack us yesterday," he concluded. Jimmy looked at the spider. "Very well, Spidey, you're safe with us until we return you to your mom. Now come on, Cindy, it's a nice day outside!"

"You go, I have to change first." I said and stood up, stretching my body.

"Okay then, see you in five minutes. Come on, Spidey." Jimmy said and left while I headed for the corridor.

I went to my tree house and opened my wooden closet. Not many clean clothes were left. I looked out the window, the sun was warm and it was a perfect day for swimming and surfing. I took my night dress off and took a white bikini from the closet. I had to wash my clothes, but my pants were ripped and I didn't have any spares. So I was stuck either using my swimsuit, or go out naked. That was a silly idea!

I've had this bikini for over a year, but I didn't have a chance to wear it. I sat on my bed, put on my bikini and headed for the elevators. The bikini was a little smaller than I remembered, but I didn't mind.

Apparently, Goddard had gathered some fruits and Jimmy had already prepared breakfast. "Hi Humphrey!" I said. He barked and I patted his head.

"Wow, Cindy, you look… nice!" Jimmy said with a faint smile and put his hand on the back of his neck.

"Thanks, Jimmy!" I said and sat at the table. He was still eying me. "So, have you planned anywhere to go today?" I asked while I was eating.

"Um, I was thinking there's a nice beach on the other side of the island. Maybe we could go there for swimming?"

"That's great!" I said excitedly.

We finished our breakfast, and then I headed for the way to the beach.

I saw Jimmy marching toward me, after saying goodbye to Goddard and Spidey. "… and be nice to Spidey, Goddard. He's our guest."

As we were holding hands and walking on the sand, I could feel sun's warmth and the breeze on my exposed skin.

On the way, I noticed Jimmy was staring at my chest and bare belly button, and he seemed a bit nervous. "Jimmy, is anything wrong?" I asked teasingly.

"No, no, everything's fine!" He said and looked at the opposite direction.

"You know, I've had this bikini for a long time. I always wanted to try it but my mom wouldn't have liked it." I said, looking at the ocean.

"Well, I think it looks quite nice on you." Jimmy said and squeezed my hand.

"Thanks, Jimmy." I smiled. "And it was either wearing this, or nothing!" I said with a chuckle. Jimmy choked at that, so I stopped teasing him.

We arrived rather faster than I thought we would. It was a part of the ocean that was twisted around and made a smaller beach about 100 feet long. Deep and clear blue water with waves were slowly going through, up and down. There was a large boulder in the middle, with a smooth top, and palm trees grew in the back.

"Wow, it's beautiful Jimmy!" I said excitedly. "It's perfect for swimming!" I said as we arrived at the beach.

I grabbed Jimmy toward the water.

"I don't know, Cindy…" he said.

"We haven't come all this way for nothing!" I said and rolled my eyes.

"No, it's just that I've something to do…" He bit his lips.

"C'mon Jimmy! It was your idea, plus I've really counted on today's surfing and tanning!"

"Why don't you go first, and I'll um… join you later?" he said with an uncertain smile.

"Okay then, I suppose we're not going swimming today." I said with a frown. "Oh look! A giant Cnidaria!" I said and pointed at a random direction.

"What? Where?!" He fell for my trick!

"Over there!" I said, and suddenly pushed him into the sea.

"Vortex!" He shouted and turned to me while spitting water.

"What?! I just wanted to cool you off a bit!" I said with a innocent grin.

"Oh yeah?" He grabbed my foot which caused me to fall into the water. "Now you're cool too!" He said with a chuckle. My bikini top slipped up a little bit, but just enough for me to feel it.

"NERDTRON!" I shouted and tried to growl at him while fixing my bikini, but I giggled instead. We both began laughing.

"Well, I suppose a little swimming wouldn't hurt!" Jimmy said, splashing water at me.

We swam out to deeper area of the sea and rode giant turtles like the last time we were here, but this time Jimmy was holding my hand. My bikini kept slipping, much to my annoyance. There were colorful fishes, coral, star fishes, seahorses and amazing tropical fishes under the water. I even saw a large Pineapple at the bottom of the sea! I was smiling at Jimmy all the time.

"They were amazing, Jimmy!" I said while coming out of the water to take a breath.

We arrived at an area which had stepping stones going to a tall rock, which Jimmy then climbed all the way to the top. "Hey Cindy, check this out!" he said and dived into the water.

"Excellent! But I can do better!" I said and stepped up to the top of the rock. I took a running start, and preformed a perfect gymnastic run, diving into the water after spinning three times.

The moment I went under, my top slipped all the way up to my neck, so I quickly fixed it before Jimmy could see me, though I wonder if he would even notice, and I wondered if it would really bother me if he saw.

Jimmy's jaw, meanwhile, dropped, thanks to my gymnastic and swimming classes I took twice a week.

"That was brilliant, Cindy!" Jimmy said in awe as I came out of the water.

"Thanks, Jimmy!" I said with a proud smile.

We continued swimming and playing for a little longer until Jimmy disappeared. I was looking around for him when suddenly I felt someone grabbing my ankle. "Hey!" was all I could say before I was pulled underwater into the sea. And it made my top slip again! Fortunately, he was looking down before he noticed anything, and I had fixed it by the time he looked up, I hoped...

"Gotcha!" Jimmy said with a smirk while coming to the surface.

"Oh yeah?!" I said and dived into the water so quickly that Jimmy was surprised when I grabbed his ankle and nearly pulled him to the bottom. I smirked at him under the water and he smiled at me.

That was the moment when he grabbed my arms and began kissing me. My heart skipped a beat. I felt the water around my cheeks were boiling, but Jimmy's lips were even hotter. I grabbed him and kissed him back.

He hugged me and kissed me one more time before we had to come to surface to take a breath. I could feel my heart still beating crazily.

[Jimmy's POV]

It was getting warmer and more humid while every second the sun got closer to the center of the sky. After quite a crazy, fun, and enjoying time swimming and surfing, we were finally back on the relaxing beach.

Cindy and I were holding hands and had laid down at the boulder in the middle of the beach. She had opened her hair-tie and let her hair down which was still quite wet, unlike mine.

The boulder was a perfect spot for sunbathing, since sun was aiming down at it and had warmed its surface.

While I was enjoying the hot rays of the sun on me and Cindy's soft skin in my hands, my mind was a complete disaster.

I couldn't stop eyeing Cindy the moment I kissed her under the water. I don't know what came over me. I mean, kissing under the water is physically impossible! She of course, had noticed that. Every time I looked at her, she would give me a smile and I would look away at some random direction, blushing.

That had caused me to walk behind her. I tried to distract my mind by calculating the angle of sun rays. I needed to put my mind together for something I was planning, but I was distracted by how Cindy's bikini was not very fitting at all and revealing her butt. Actually, it didn't cover as much as it should, though I wondered if she was comfortable with that. But as she had said earlier, it was either this bikini or nothing.

And it was either this, or the high rate of the humidity that caused me to cold sweat while we were walking on the sea side earlier.

This caught her eyes. "Does something bother you, Jimmy?" she asked softly. We stopped at nearly the border of the sea and the land.

I put my hand behind my neck. "N-No, I mean… Cindy, when we were in the water, I noticed that your top… well, slipped a few times." I said and tried to look into Cindy's green eyes. She was blushing a little.

"Um, I'm sorry about that, Jimmy!" she said, blushing even more, but she didn't move to reflexively cover her chest.

"N-no, it's okay. I was just saying that maybe you could use a more comfortable bikini."

"Well, I guess so. Don't worry about me though, Jimmy. I'm comfortable with it," she said and winked at me before we continued walking to the boulder where we sat together, and lied down.

Knowing that she wasn't bothered at all was a relief. She still had a faint smile, but she wasn't blushing anymore.

I in the other hand, had to hurry before the sun set in order to set up everything on time, so I sat up. "Cindy, do you mind if I go to… um... take some samples from plants around here?" I smiled sheepishly, hoping Cindy wouldn't find out what I was really up to.

"But Jimmy!" she said and sat up beside me. "We've lied down only for a couple of minutes! How else am I supposed to get a perfect tan?" she said with something looked like a frown. "We can tan together if you stay!" she added with a cute smile.

As much as I didn't want to say no to her smile, I had to hurry. "Um Cindy, this is kind of important, because, um… I won't get fresh petal essence out of the flowers otherwise!"

"Fine, just let me stretch out first…" she said while standing on her toes and stretching her arms above her head.

"You don't necessarily need to come with me, Cindy, it's a long boring walk. Besides, the sampling tools are back at the treehouses, so I think it's better if you get your tan here while I do the sampling. I'll be back in couple of hours. Okay?"

"Jimmy!" she groaned. "I want to come with you!"

"Um..."

"Oh, whatever!" she said, giving up, and rolled her eyes while sitting on the boulder, and crossed her arms.

"Cindy –" I tried to talk, but she cut me off.

"Just go, Neutron!" she scolded.

"I'm sorry, Cindy, maybe I can stay for some time first?" I said trying to sound sorry. I didn't want to see her sad.

"No, don't worry, I don't want to interrupt you!" she said and lied down again. "Actually, I prefer tanning much more!" she said with a smile which seemed less assuring. I could see she wasn't angry, at least, but she was a bit sad.

"But I just want to–" I said and put my hand on the back of my neck.

"I said I'm fine, Jimmy!" She said and winked at me.

I thought there was nothing more I could do at the moment. "Well then, see you later, Cindy," I said and tried to smile, while leaving.

"Well then, see you later, Cindy," Jimmy said with what appeared to be a smile before leaving a confused Cindy behind and disappearing into the trees.

When Cindy made sure he was too far away to hear her, she stared at the sky with a blank face.

"What did I do wrong?" she asked herself sadly. "Why doesn't he want me?" She wasn't far from sobbing.

'But he kissed me when we were in the water… and he took care of me when I was sad last night. Doesn't that mean he likes me?' some voice said inside her head, making her a little cheery and feel hope.

'But if he DOES like me, why the hell would he leave me alone like this?' She was confused.

'Is it because of my bikini?'

But then again, there could be a more simple reason. 'Or maybe… maybe he really didn't want to bother me.' She thought with a sigh of relief.

Over a few occasions, she had learned not to make everything more complicated. Sometimes, the most reasonable answer would be the simplest one. And she didn't want to look dumb at all. "No need to be worried." She said with a big smile. With that, she glanced over the sky. The sun was exactly at the center of the sky, so it was the perfect time for tanning. "He'll be back when he's done. I've should better start tanning while I can."

She noticed her bikini had slipped again (probably while she was stretching) and she hadn't realized it. "Damn! Jimmy got another look at me again! No wonder he seemed nervous!" She tightened the knots of the bikini. "That should do it!"

She lied down while closing her eyes and relaxed under the warm rays of sun. While her hair was still partly wet, she enjoyed sun's pleasant heat on her body. 'This is quite relaxing. I wonder if Jimmy would like be here with me.' She turned around. 'Ah, he was right about my bikini… It's so tight!' She tried to fix it, but it still annoyed her since she had tied the knots tightly.

She sat up on the boulder with an annoyed look. "Maybe it's better if I just take it off…" she said while glancing over the beach. No one was around. She slowly untied her bikini and removed it from her chest, placing it on the rock beside her before lying down on the boulder for the third time. "Aw, that's better."

'Now I can tan evenly. Also my body will receive an equal amount of U.V. rays since I haven't brought my SPF. I'll finish tanning before Jimmy's back.' She thought while closing her eyes again.

The sun's warmth, the humid weather and continual sea waves made her fall in a deep sleep before she knew it.

[Cindy's POV]

"Cindy… wake up, Cindy!" someone was whispering softly. I woke up and sat up on the boulder, finding Jimmy standing there. The sun had moved and it was approaching the horizon, so I assumed a couple of hours had passed.

"Oh, you're back, *yawn* Jimmy," I said with a half-smile and trying to place my arms around him before realizing he was nervous again.

"Cindy... your chest!" he said sheepishly.

Suddenly my eyes widened. "Oh my god, I'm NAKED!" I said and tried to cover my bare chest, which burned slightly when I touched it. My bikini top was out of reach where I had left it, and Jimmy had seen my chest AGAIN!

"Not that, Cindy! And technically, you're topless, not naked!" he said with a little blush. "The sun has burnt your skin… how long have you been sunbathing in the direct sun's rays?" he asked, trying not to look at my chest.

That pretty much explained the burn, and why he was nervous. He was really concerned and cared that I might have been hurt. How sweet!

"Well, I wanted to take a tan for half an hour or so, but I guess I fell asleep when you left," I said with a blush and lowering my hands a bit.

He bit his lips, and handed me my bikini top. "Let's get back to the tree houses, I think I might have an ointment or something to heal you skin..." he said and turned away so I could put on my top.

I tried to put on my top, but it hurt when the fabric touched me. "Ow!" I growled.

Jimmy turned to me and asked, "What is it, Cindy?"

"It hurts when it touches my skin!" I said with a groan.

"Don't wear it, then! I promise I won't look. Let's just get back to the tree houses as soon as we can…" he said and led the way.

I took my top and followed him. With every step, I felt a slight sting, but I didn't mind at all as long as Jimmy was here.

I noticed that Jimmy took a different route and went towards the back of the treehouses instead of the usual way, but we ended up at the hover car anyway.

I covered my chest again when we stopped.

He took the hyper cube and pulled out something which looked like a huge tube with a red plus sign in the middle of his atom design.

"Well, this Neutronic super-enhanced multi-use ointment should heal the damage to your skin in a matter of minutes, but since I haven't tested it on the sunburns, I'm not fully sure," he said, and carefully squeezed the tube.

Something like a golden colored tooth paste with a thin cream stripe in the middle came out of the tube. "Of COURSE everyone knows that prolonged exposure to U.V. rays damages skin, Cindy!" he added with a slight glare, to me, of course. I gave him one of my famous questioning looks before taking that weird ointment.

"Don't worry, Cindy, It's fully effective on healing second and third degree burns, and what you have is no more than a regular sun burn," he said while rolling his eyes. "Just put it on your body evenly and you should be okay."

"Okay, if you say so..." I said and took the golden ointment.

The golden ointment felt cool and warm at the same time. It began tickling my fingers a bit like I was holding my hands in a stream of flowing water.

Jimmy was curiously looking at me, like he was testing one of his another experiments, but even though he was looking at my face, I eyed him annoyingly. "Ehm... Jimmy, could you not stare at me like that please?"

"Oh, sorry!" he said and turned back quickly while blushing a deep red.

I put some of ointment on my skin and began rubbing it. It felt like some magnet was pushing it into my skin. The stinging feeling was already fading out. After a few seconds it had completely fused into to my skin and the stinging feeling stopped. I was relaxed at the good feeling.

I put the ointment all over my front, but I couldn't reach some parts of my back. It wasn't as much burned as my front, but I couldn't resist to use it on my back too. It felt so magical!

I covered my chest again. "Jimmy?" I said uncertainly.

"Yes, Cindy?" he said and turned back slowly.

"Is it okay if you rub the ointment on my back please? I can barely reach it!" I said with a grin.

Jimmy paused for a second. "S-sure Cindy!" he said with a shy smile.

"Great!" I said and turned back for him. I thought it was kind of embarrassing for him to rub an ointment on the back of a girl, specially such a beautiful and talented girl like me! I smirked at that idea. Although it was the first time for him too, I guess.

I felt his fingers rubbing my back softly, and it felt amazing. I really liked it. However, I was thankful that we were the only ones on the island, otherwise seeing a boy rubbing a topless girl's back at our age would be too odd and weird! I blushed at that thought.

Unfortunately, Jimmy finished very quickly, long before I could fully enjoy the ointment's effects… or his hands.

"Do you feel better, Cindy?" Jimmy asked concernedly.

I put on my top and turned around again.

"I guess so," I said. It didn't hurt at all but I could see my skin was still burned (though I could feel a warm feeling beneath my skin. Jimmy did tell me it could take some time). "It'll be okay." I added with a smile.

Jimmy put his hand on my shoulder. "You sure?" He put his fingers on her waist and started tickling me, while asking with a smirk.

"Knock it off, Jimmy!" I giggled. "I said I'm fine!" And shifted away so Jimmy's fingers wouldn't reach me.

"Perfect! That's a relief." Jimmy said. "Now that there's nothing else to worry about, come with me, I want to show you something," he winked.

"What do you want to show me?" she asked curiously.

"You'll see!" Jimmy said and sat up while offering her his hand. He held my eyes before walking backwards and leading me to the other side of the treehouses.

"Okay… what is it?" I asked curiously. I could see a set of unfamiliar blue and purple lights.

"Surprise!"
