Disclaimer: I don't own Wolfblood, but I can dream...

It was full moon day and Maddy and Rhydian were sick of being cooped up indoors. They wanted to run free over the moors, not stay inside writing Geography essays!

The seconds crawled by, minutes feeling like hours. Maddy drummed her pen on the desk. Rhydian tapped his feet on the floor.

Finally, the bell rang. Maddy and Rhydian scooped up their stuff and headed for the door, but before they could get there…

"Oi! Welshie! Footy practice!" Jimmy shouted across the classroom.

"Oh…" Rhydian said. He'd completely forgotten. "I... I can't. I'm going round Maddy's." Jimmy rolled his eyes as Rhydian grabbed Maddy's arm and pulled her out of the classroom.

"But we've got a match tomorrow!" Jimmy howled at Rhydian's retreating back. Rhydian pretended not to hear, and hurried down the corridor with Maddy in tow. As soon as they reached the playground he made a run for the woods, Maddy close behind him. By the time Jimmy reached the playground, they were only just visible behind a line of trees. Then they were gone.

"How are we supposed to practice without a goalie?" Jimmy complained to Sam, Liam, Tom and Shannon who had just come up behind him.

"I'm sure you'll think of something" Shannon said, rolling her eyes. 'What is it with boys and football?' She thought as she walked away, leaving the four boys staring incredulously after her.

In the woods, Maddy and Rhydian were chasing each other, full of pent-up energy. "Ha!" shouted Maddy over her shoulder. "Can't catch me!"

"Wanna bet?" Rhydian shouted back, and Maddy felt something stir in her stomach as she raced over logs and dodged trees, her schoolbag trailing behind her. Rhydian was close. He leaped, and his outstretched hands slammed into her back. They fell, down into a little hollow, coming to rest at the bottom. Rhydian rolled off Maddy and they lay side by side, a little breathless from their run.

Rhydian turned to look at Maddy. "Mads?"

"Mmmm?"

"Err… Thanks for… you know"

"What?"

"For letting me into your pack. For making me feel wanted for the first time in my life."

"Oh Rhydian." She leaned up on her elbow to look at his face properly. "I know you hate the idea of being trapped in the den…"

"It's cool Mads. Anywhere's fine as long as I'm with you." She blushed and looked down. "And your pack, I mean" Rhydian added hastily, his own cheeks turning red.

Maddy looked up. "Rhydian, I…"

But her words were stopped as he placed one hand on the side of her face and pressed his lips to hers. Maddy gasped and then started to kiss him back. One hand she ran through his hair, the other clung to his T-shirt. Then Rhydian pulled away and he rested his forehead up against Maddy's.

"I love you Maddy Smith." He whispered into the space between them.

"Really?"

"Really Really."

"I love you too." Then then they both smiled and leaned in again.
