Beca groaned as she woke up, finding the streak of light from the open window right in her eyes. As usual she buried her face in whatever was next to her, and that happened to be Chloe's shoulder. The older girl grumbled slightly but relaxed into the feeling, before waking suddenly, the look on her face of pure shock. "Becky!" She screeched as she stared down at her stomach, looking scared of it.
The brunette jumped and sat up, rubbing her eye. "What?-burglar? fire? bad acapella?" She looked over to her wife, furrowing her eyebrows when she saw the tears in Chloe's eyes. "Baby it's kicking." They were tears of joy.
Beca's eyes grew slightly panicked as she had no idea what to do.
"Does it hurt?" She asked softly, her eyes straying to her wife's hands on the red head's stomach.
Chloe shook her head quickly. "No Bex, it's little. It's little like the little baby." She was whispering, as if the baby in her swollen stomach could hear her. Bright blue eyes looked up.
"Do you want to feel?" Chloe, in her usual fashion, didn't wait for a response and reached out, taking her lover's hands and pressing them on her stomach, laughing loudly when Beca squeaked a little. Almost ivory hands rested on the skin and then- boop. Little kicks hit against her hands, they weren't terribly strong, because the baby was barely passed 18 weeks, but it was there.
"It's a baby." Beca said dumbly, feeling dazed, but feeling her heart beat a bit faster.
She felt her chin be tilted up to look in pools of her sea mist, icing Beca's horizon like a fog, making it so she didn't have to see all the drama and uncertainty of the future, so she could focus on the now, and only now.
"It's our baby." Chloe said, a few happy tears falling down her cheeks. "It's our baby." She repeated, pulling Beca up and kissing her with everything she had. And Beca couldn't have been happier.
