Chapter 21: Maybe

It was still raining hard when Robin got inside of the hotel. She ran as her eyes were welling up with tears and her face read guilt. As she passes through the lobby, Penguin and Satchi were there. They saw her and said 'Hi' but didn't get any response back. They noticed that she was only wearing a bathrobe and had her clothes and shoes on her hands. Too lazy to know what happened, they shrugged off the idea of asking her. Robin entered her room and earned curious glances from her roommates. She immediately went to the bathroom and took a shower. She couldn't contain the guilt she was feeling and also the fear she was bearing alone. A few minutes have passed, Satchi and Penguin were still on the lobby when they noticed Zoro passing through them. He seemed out of it and was just staring blankly as he was passing by. They also noticed that he was also in a bathrobe and was carrying his clothes. Sachi and Penguin looked at each other with intrigued faces.

As Zoro arrived at his room, he threw his wet clothes and slumped on the floor. "Oi, Marimo! What the heck? You're getting the floor soaked!" Yelled Sanji who was playing cards with the others. Zoro only lied on his side and groaned in response. He later stood up and went to take a shower.

Zoro's POV

Why the heck is wrong with her? Why does she always have to leave me hanging? I even said that I love her. Does she even know how hard it is for a guy to drop a legit L-bomb? Whenever I try to talk to her, she always leaves. I thought we were finally okay after what happened at that weird shrine, but then again, she left me there. Good lord, girls are so hard to figure out.

Robin's POV

You're so stupid, Robin! Why couldn't you stop yourself from giving in to him? You need to control yourself. Remember what Koshiro told you. You wouldn't want to go through everyone's judgmental eyes and treatment again. Forget what you feel about Zoro. After all, there's no forever! That stupid feeling of yours for Zoro is just your brain and hormones. If you feel that way towards Zoro, you can also feel that with Law. Yes, Law. . . Yes, Robin, face Law and you'll never be hurt again. He's intelligent, good-looking . . . almost perfect! He's also really cool, rich, and . . . not Zoro. . . . Why the heck did I go back again to Zoro?! Actually, I shouldn't like him because he's arrogant, grouchy, really grumpy, an obvious prick, lazy and weird, but his . . . funny in his own way, . . . strong, . . determined, . . . kind, and is the person I love. . . This isn't good. You need to wake up, Robin! Do what is right! You should answer Law now.

Penguin and Satchi were hanging out at the hotel lounge with their friends. Law was also with them, busy with phone. He was able to come back early in the morning after he finished helping his brother. Penguin and Sachi went up to the vending machines to get drinks. "Psst, Penguin, remember what we saw yesterday?"

"You mean Robin-neechan?"

"Yeah. Don't you think it's weird that she came in with just a robe on?"

"Uhuh, it's getting me curious, but I also think it's not our business. Maybe she went to went to the hot springs and came back like that because she's lazy to change. I don't know."

"Yeah, but we also saw Zoro walking in like her. Could it be poss-"

"Shss! Don't you dare say it! Someone might hear you! I thought of that, too, but I feel like I wouldn't want Law to find out!"

"Let's just keep it a secret for now. We wouldn't wanna be a cause of a drama here." Sachi and Penguin went back to their friends, keeping their secret.

"What the f*ck? That bitch again! I thought dad already scared her. Dad did say she didn't accept the money and she even saw the articles and the pictures. Ha! This is totally unbelievable!" Tashigi clenched her fist after hearing Sachi and Penguin's conversation.

After the 3 day trip, the freshmen were able to come back to Tokyo. Law gave Robin a ride home. He even brought some souvenirs he bought during the trip for Olvia. Robin offered him to stay for tea, but he refused because he said he was going to meet up with an acquaintance later.

After a good forty-five minute drive, Law arrived at the café where he was told to come. He went in and scanned the room for the person he was supposed to meet up with. As he found her, he slowly walked towards her and sat down. He looked at her as if he was eager to hear what she wanted to say. "What are we supposed to talk about, Tashigi?" Tashigi smirked as she fixed her glasses. "Did you drop off your Russian doll?"

"Robin? Yeah, I just came from her place. Wait . . Is this about her? Where is this conversation going?"

"Ha! Gosh, then your little minions haven't told you yet. Haven't heard anything from them, yeah?"

"Heard what, you bitch?"

"I think it's not me that should be called a bitch, Trafalgar. You should call Robin that, not me!" Tashigi said wit a giggle.

"Tell me what this is about? Tell me everything or I'm gonna have you smelling like sulfur after I burn you to death."

"Ha! Scary as always, Trafalgar. You see, I heard that your bitch was seen coming back to the hotel during the trip. . . with nothing on but a bath robe. Not that suspicious, right? But it's not just that. After a few minutes, Zoro was also seen coming back the same way as Robin. Both of them - drenched from the rain, had their clothes on their hands, and both came from the same direction. I thought that it was too much to be a coincidence. However, I wouldn't wanna conclude that your bitch was fucking my fiance." Law suddenly stood up and grabbed Tashigi's collar. "Don't be angry at me, Trafalgar. You better control your bitch or I'll be the one t-" Before Tashigi could continue what she was saying, Law pulled her. "I know how your family works, Tashigi. Your family digs up whatever trash you could find about someone and blackmail them to get what you want. I'll handle this one and make it sure that Zoro doesn't get involved with Robin anymore." Tashigi laughed and removed Law's hands from her collar. "Hearing you say that means you probably know that that bitch's father died a criminal! You know how closed-minded people are, Trafalgar. If people find out, she's gonna be depressed and bullied again. Good for her, right? Actually, my dad already talked to her. Maybe scaring her a bit wasn't enough that the bitch still wasn't able to close her legs for Zoro. I'm not really relying on you to totally cut off Zoro and Robin, but I guess a little help from you would at least make my life a little bit easier. . . And oh, try training your bitch to only open her legs for you and not for someone else's fiance, okay?" Tashigi stood up and left, leaving a stunned Law.

Law knew about Robin's past. He was intrigued with Robin from the first time he's seen her. When he took interest in Robin, he had her background check. He usually only do that to business partners and not for personal reasons. He was famous for his many historical findings and research on the black market, along with Olvia. However, along with his discoveries, he also gained enemies from powerful people. Robin's father was falsely accused and imprisoned because of his research. When it broke on the news that Robin's father was a criminal, she was bullied at school and was judged by everyone, to the point where she became depressed. Before her father died, Robin and Olvia went to Japan with the help of Rayleigh. Robin went through treatments and continued school.

Robin was drying her hair when she received a text from Law. "Are you free tonight?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Get changed, I'm picking you up in 15 minutes."

Robin cocked an eyebrow as she read Law's text. She found it unusual that Law would ask her to go out that late, however she still got ready. She thought it was just one of those surprise romantic dates Law usually prepared for her. A few minutes after she was done Law arrived to pick her up. Law was silent and his ears were quite red. Robin thought that he was just mad about business and wanted to unwind. Minutes of driving, Robin slowly recognized a familiar path. "Are we going to your hiding spot tonight?" she asked as she glanced at Law. She was hoping it would start a conversation since it was awfully quiet inside the car. However, Law's response was only an annoyed sigh and a nod.

A few minutes and roads have passed, they arrived to where Law first took Robin when they had their first date. Law took out some blankets and a led lamp. Robin sat on the blanket while Law released a deep sigh and lied down, covering his face with his arm. Thinking that Law just wanted to stay quiet for a while, Robin also lied down and rested her head on Law's shoulder. Law's hand went around Robin and firmly held her side.

"Do you want to tell me something?"

"What do you mean 'tell you something'?"

Law lost his temper and straddled Robin. "Come on, Robin!"

"What? What am I supposed to tell you when I don't know what you mean?"

"Don'- *sigh . . . Okay, someone told me that the night I left the school trip, you were seen coming in the hotel . . . Then moments later Zoro also came in. They said you were just wearing a bathrobe while carrying your clothes. Zoro was almost the same. You both came from the same direction. I've thought of every possible reason why that happened. Maybe you were caught in the rain, maybe something happened to your clothes, maybe somebody pranked you. . . I had thought of a lot of other 'maybes,' but Robin . . some of them are almost impossible, some of them don't even make sense, and some of them just further proves what I am so afraid of - that something happened between you and him."

"Law, I can explain!"

"Okay, Robin! Then go ahead! Let me hear your explanation!"

Robin stuttered and couldn't utter a word. "This is bullshit, Robin! Tell me what the fuck happened! I was almost forcing myself to believe that it could just be pure coincidence, but it's too much even an idiot to think that it's a coincidence! Believe me, I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, but it really is too much! Is it really that hard for you to forget that son of a bitch?"

"I'm sorry, Law. I was going to tell you the truth, but I just didn't have the courage to tell you. I thought I was already looking your way but-"

"But what, Robin? Looking my way? That's bullshit! Were you really looking my way to love me or looking my way to know when you can go and not get caught fucking Zoro? You really just can't close your legs when it comes to Zoro, huh?"

Robin raised her hand and slapped Law, but he caught her hand. "If you can't forget about him that easy, then I'm gonna have to use the hard way!" Law clenched on Robin's wrist and pushed her down. He straddled and pinned her to the ground. Law took off his shirt and ravished and kissing her mercilessly. Her shirt and bra was almost torn apart. He sadistically groped and touched her. She was crying and whimpering. She pleaded him to stop countless times. Law stopped and looked down on Robin. He sat down panting heavily and covered his face with his hands.

Robin covered her bare chest with her arms. She was still crying when Law stood up and helped her up. He went to his car and took his jacket, putting it on Robin to cover her up. He led her to the car with both of them still in silence. They drove to Robin's house to drop her off. When they arrived, Robin immediately came out of his car. "Wait!" said Law. She looked at him over her shoulder. He went out of his car and hugged her from the back. "I'm sorry, Robin. I know what I did was wrong and I have no excuse for that. . . but I just wanna let you know that I did that because I love you! I couldn't help it anymore. I'm so jealous that you have a different guy in your heart! I know I said that I'm willing to wait . . . but after what I heard . . . I just couldn't help it. I love you so much that it's killing me every time you look sad because of that piece of shit!"

Without saying a word, Robin removed Law's hands and went inside her house. She promptly went straight to her bathroom and right after shutting her door close, she collapsed to the ground crying. She heaved as she turned on the shower. She rubbed the skin of body skin with disgust. She couldn't help but get flashes of what Law did to her. She felt helpless and ashamed.

She went out of the bathroom and changed her clothes. She couldn't help but take her phone and call Nami. She felt like Nami was the only person she could talk to right now. "Robin? Finally you called! Hehehe~"

"Nami." Robin said in a shaky voice. "Nam-" She repeated but couldn't help but cry. "Robin, are you okay? What hap- . . . Wait, where are you right now?"

"A- At home."

"Okay, just wait! Just stay right there. I'm coming!"

Nami dropped the call and hurriedly went on her way. It didn't take a while when Nami arrived at Robin's place. She ran upstairs to Robin's room and barged right in. She saw Robin on the floor still crying. Robin looked at her and tears suddenly welled up even more out of her eyes. Nami immediately hugged Robin tightly, not even saying a word. She caressed Robin's back to comfort her.

Robin looked at Nami and let out a smile. "Thank you and I'm sorry, Nami-chan." Nami smiled back, a bit teary-eyed. "It's okay. I'll always try to understand and be there for you. After all, we're best friends, right?" Robin replied with a nod and hugged Nami again. "You're really smart, Robin but at times you can be stupid." Nami joked. "Fufufu~ I missed you, too Nami." They both giggled and held each other's hand.

"Now, Robin, tell me everything. Everything."
