Tetsu-mama!

Due to an influential stalker, Kuroko has been trying to get a steady job for more than a year. In an attempt to help, Aida assigns him as the baby sitter of the adopted kids of her boss. Not knowing who the boss was, he took the job. If only he knew what exactly he was getting himself into.

Pairing: Akashi/Kuroko

Disclaimer: I own nothing except for the plot of this story

I've recently added to Chapter 4 that Takao is 18 years old. I edited the past chapters to fit this. And as mentioned in the earlier chapters, he's met Kuroko.

He's younger than Orenjina.

Takao and Orenjina are half siblings. Takao's father is the same as Orenjina's but with different mothers.

Have you guys watched or read Tokyo Ghoul? If you haven't, you must! I suggest you read the manga though! There are more details that you just can't miss! Your feels will overflow.

On the other hand, I'm kind of late with the Hetalia fandom. I've only watched a few episodes of all seasons because of my cousin (there's a story about her at my AN at the end of the story).

Having those two fandoms made me mix the dude who always eats hamburgers and has issues with the caterpillar brows and frosty the snowman... and Rize the binger eater. Maybe I'll find time to make a drabble about it.

maybe.

Chapter 5

Always stuck together like glue

The ghost who is always so blue

And emperor so kind and true

Parting of the two would never do.

Teiko High

A time where Kuroko was still a cute high school student.

2nd year High School

They say that life gives people challenges to make them better, not bitter.

Kuroko was not bitter. It wasn't in his character to be bitter.

Rather, he was simply peeved. There was no logical reason for him to be angry at the President-kun after all (for heaven's sake, he didn't even remember his name). He was simply acting more serious about his studies since the end of their second year in high school was coming soon. Grades were important at this point in time. He would know since he wanted to be a teacher after all.

One's grades and awards received through the past years will determine what College or University you will enter.

It was no problem for Kuroko if President-kun wanted to concentrate more on his studies but there was something more than that that seemed to be stressing the red head out.

Being with someone like the President-kun had made him become much more observant with people than he was before. Despite being the person who 'understood the most inhuman student in Teikou', there were things he would never be able to comprehend about the other if he didn't keep a close eye on him.

They were best friends, weren't they? It was only natural that he'd try to know more about President-kun. But despite his determination to be more attentive to his companion, the other's constant absence has dwindled his chances of ever being able to understand the other.

It was strange really. Normally, he and President-kun would work together on any of the school projects that had to be finished quickly so that they'd be able to hang out during the afternoons. Kuroko understood that the workload had increased after the first 3 months of school but they had managed to get through it last year. Why not this year?

They both had been so close.

Until Kuroko started receiving texts about the President having to leave early because of his family so he didn't have time to go to the convenience store with him. He only used to receive the texts once every week but they multiplied to the point that the texts came every day and then…

They just stopped because he didn't have time to even text Kuroko anymore. The bluenette respected the silence and unwillingness to speak about the topic. He wouldn't prod.

But he was really missing his smirking companion whom he had always shared Popsicle sticks with after school.

Sometimes he had Momoi to talk to. They were classmates and she always sounded so excited and bubbly whenever they talked. Other than her, it was silence who he partnered with for most of the day, month and year.

Fortunately, he managed to get a part time job that properly distracted him after classes and during Saturday mornings. A kind old man managed to notice his application letter and hired him as an assistant Kindergarten teacher somewhere not too far from the convenience store. The salary was alright and was mostly used for his daily consumption of vanilla milkshakes and books.

Most of all, there were children.

If not for them, he would've probably completely closed off from the world since the beginning of time. Give it some time then he'll get used to the quiet afternoons.

Just give it time….

….

He hoped that President-kun wouldn't be busy during the upcoming break.

Kuroko missed him.

Present Time

Man proposes. God disposes.

These four words were kept very closely to the heart of one Midorima Shintarou.

Let's have a background check.

He was currently seven years old and the second oldest in his weird family of colorful haired misfits. Oddly enough, he felt that he perfectly belonged there. It wasn't because of his strange hair color, mind you.

But it's not like he'd tell father or any of his rainbow haired siblings about his acceptance and care for them. They would never let him live it down.

Daiki would tease him while Ryouta would giggle like an idiot whenever he'd see him. Atsushi would glomp and cuddle him to death because he would feel touched by the feelings of his apathetic brother.

While father…..

He would probably just pat his head fondly and give him one of those proud smiles parents always give to their children. It was the same thing over and over again. Sure, the man rarely showed physical affections and all but it was such a normal action.

Midorima could care less about whether or not the man was proud of him.

HONESTLY. HE DOESN'T CARE.

Yeah. Ahem, yes.

For some reason, Midorima just knew that the man understood how he felt. No matter how hard he tried to keep his face blank and act as stoically as possible, father would make it his mission to lighten the expressions and feelings of the seven year old and even let him speak freely but with dignity.

The man never reacted negatively to any of his snarky remarks and would simply correct him with great patience. Those few times when he actually felt sincere about his insults were the only instances when Akashi actually stepped in and pinched his cheek with a straight to the point sermon.

It was strange really. He felt comfortable with the man even though he had only been his son for four years.

Yes, he had accepted the title of being Akashi Seijuro's son.

That was something he wasn't shy or reluctant to say. It was something to be proud of after all.

Akashi Seijuro was the most important adult figure in his life. He had first taken a step into his life when he was three years old. The adult had given him hope even when his brother was taken from him.

He really wished his brother was still there.

But it was a wish that couldn't be.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder.

But it made Akashi's heart grow crueler.

And Kuroko's heart grow lonelier.

Teiko High

A time where Akashi was still a cute high school student.

2nd Year High School

There was so much work to do.

So many people to charm, meetings with his father's colleagues he had to attend even if he didn't really need to go, and so much more. Akashi learned early on in middle school that sleep was for the weak but he'll probably take a nap in a little while since there's another dinner party later tonight.

He had to make the best of any given opportunity to recuperate his energy. Lack of rest could lower the quality of his performance which he couldn't afford.

Akashi was not a failure. It wasn't in his character. There were too many things that were forced and painfully glued on his shoulders that would break into a million pieces if he admitted defeat to the challenges life often left on top of his face first thing in the morning.

School break was fast approaching. He would last till then and if he couldn't...

Well, he'll cross the bridge when he's there.

He had a schedule made with enough time allotted for each and every load of work he had. Akashi also made sure to take note of every dinner party he was politely invited to join even if his whole being said that attending it would break a part of his sanity.

The children of his father's colleagues especially the female ones had a tendency to cling onto his arm and talk about the most unimportant things in the world. It never fails to irritate and ruin the night for him.

No complaint of his should ever get to his father though. If he wanted his only son to join him in the brain damaging parties then he would.

The man barely smiles as it is.

When Akashi takes his place as head of the company, he will make sure that the number of dinner parties will lessen. There were better things to do in life than force yourself to converse with people who are planning to either bring your company down or get you fired. The only reason there would be any party in the first place was only to strengthen the bonds of the employees and gain more influences in the business world.

There were other activities that needed to be planned like the school fair and he also has those little outings after school with –

Kuroko.

He honestly hadn't thought of him for a while.

He had kept the thought of the phantom like boy at the very back of his mind. Whether it was accidental or intentional on his part, it no longer mattered. Even if he had many tasks to accomplish, he always knew how to get them done quickly and properly but Kuroko was a black hole of confusion for Akashi.

Where does he fall under? Obligations? Did he have any obligation to the bluenette?

Does one even have obligations to a friend? Was Kuroko still considered as his friend? Akashi would like to still think of the other as his friend but was he Kuroko's friend now?

The lack of communication between the two due to his part in being busy had strained their relationship.

He sometimes saw the other reading with a pink haired student in the library during lunch. At one point he had been the one sitting beside Kuroko. He didn't know what to feel whenever he saw the two together but whenever Kuroko was alone…..

Akashi felt empty. Why did he even seek out the unnoticeable boy? He knew that he would always find the other in that empty spot that was close enough to the librarian's counter but was far from the sections of books that students liked to visit.

He had no time to ponder on things like this.

Despite everything, his relationship with Kuroko was not a failure. He did not fail at anything. What could he have possibly failed with Kuroko anyway?

What is there to fail at if there was nothing between them to begin with?

...

Who was he kidding? There was no point in fooling himself.

Akashi wondered if Kuroko was willing to wait until school break.

He'll fix things.

Momoi has had a crush on Kuroko since she was 13 years old. One could reason that it was probably the raging hormones she had during her adolescent period but she knew deep inside that Kuroko Tetsuya was her one and true love.

The simple act of giving a Popsicle stick with the word prize written on it had been enough to make her heart skip a beat. The sincerity in Kuroko's actions made the whole incident even better.

She had energetically made herself find the teen and befriend him the next day. It took her a while to find out that he was actually her classmate! Unbelievable but the boy was just so hard to find.

It didn't stop her at all and she kept going.

She had a notebook dedicated totally to Kuroko. It had everything she had discovered about him written there like how he visited the library daily for a book to borrow and how he always visited Maji Burger to order a vanilla milkshake. There were times that he would also buy some ice cream from the Convenience Store.

Through her silent observation, Kuroko approached her again with two popsicles with him.

She had been sitting at the sidewalk near the convenience store, writing in her special notebook because she had discovered that Kuroko preferred the genre Mystery when he read his books.

He had tapped her head and surprised her since she hadn't sensed the boy come.

"I'm sorry to bother you, Momoi-san."

'He knows my name! I can't believe it! He knows my name….' Her eyes sparkled brightly as her grip on her notebook and ball pen started to tighten. The sound of her heart beating filled her ears but she still somehow managed to hear the angelic voice of her crush.

"But you seem tired and I noticed that you often bought ice cream here." Kuroko said monotonously. "I was waiting for someone but he said that he wouldn't be able to come but I already bought these. Would you like some ice cream?"

"….Y-y-y-yes! Yes, please!" She stuttered with a bright blush on her face.

"Do you have a fever?" Kuroko asked with worry laced in his voice. "Your face is red." He placed a pale hand on top of her forehead

"Not at all." She replied quickly as she relaxed herself to regain composure. She mentally sighed in disappointment when the hand left the warmth of her skin. "I don't think I answered properly so I'll repeat it. Yes, I'd like some ice cream."

Kuroko gave a small but angelic smile and gave her the cold Popsicle. It was dripping a little.

Momoi knew she melted much faster than the ice cream did that day.

She never would have approached Kuroko at all so it was a blessing to have him offer her ice cream again. Ever since that day, she made sure to become close with her cute classmate.

There were so many things that she didn't know about him!

Like the fact that he was friends with one of the most intimidating but charming guys in Teiko.

Akashi Seijuro.

"Good evening, Akashi-kun and Momoi-san." Kuroko greeted with a bow as the children behind him jumped with glee at seeing the two at the door.

"Daddicchi!" Kise screamed as he hugged the red haired man. "I missed you!"

"You don't need to be so loud about it." Aomine grunted as he appeared beside the blond. He waved with a pout. "Hi, dad."

"It's only dad?" Akashi asked teasingly. He bent down to pinch the dark blue haired child's cheek. "Whatever happened to 'Daddy, come home earlier!' and 'Daddy, can't you ask your bosses to let you go home faster?'."

Aomine's dark complexion couldn't hide the blush that suddenly spread all over his face. "H-hey! Daaad! I never said any of those!"

"Yes, you did." Midorima said as he pushed his glasses. "And you still do. Just not in front of father." The second eldest turned to Akashi and bowed just like Kuroko did. "Welcome home, father."

"Everyone agreed that we should wait for you guys so that we can all have dinner together." Murasakibara pouted a little lifelessly. Low growling could be heard from his stomach. "So may we have dinner now?"

Momoi, who had been secretly glancing at Kuroko this whole time, perked up and smiled gently at the tall boy. "Of course. Let go in and eat! We can't have the children starving!"

"Of course." Akashi nodded and the children immediately zoomed into the dining room, leaving the adults all at the door.

"Please come in already, it must be cold outside." Kuroko said monotonously.

"It's fine, Tetsu-kun!" She smiled joyously as she jumped to hug the bluenette. "Your presence here is enough to warm my heart."

"I beg your pardon?" Kuroko looked puzzled as he awkwardly patted the woman's back.

Akashi closed the door with an amused smile on his face. "Are we going to have dinner at all?"

"Yes, yes!" Momoi suddenly let go of Kuroko which was good because she was really close to suffocating the man. "Sorry."

The woman started walking towards the kitchen while the two men conversed.

"How was your day, Tetsuya?"

"Wonderful. The children were as hyper as usual and played outside."

Their seemingly normal conversation was being eavesdropped by Momoi who frowned slightly at them. From afar, she noticed that the children weren't causing much of a ruckus at the dining room either. They were probably trying to listen in on the conversation.

"….which did not bode well."

"I suppose not. It's not right to just demand a role back after declining it at least a few weeks ago. The slots were already taken after all and contracts were already signed."

"Indeed but complications like these normally happen, sad to say. People would suddenly disappear then come back and try to insist on something they've denied long ago."

Kuroko looked at Akashi blankly. "They shouldn't force others like that but we have to understand their circumstances."

"The circumstances for leaving and coming back like that? Even though no words were said before denying both themselves and the company of a great partnership."

"Life is rather demanding and maybe they found a better paying deal outside."

Akashi's earlier expression of pleasantries became slightly strained. The action was almost unnoticeable but Kuroko knew the other far too well to miss the change of expressions.

"But whatever happened to commitment or loyalty to the company? With time, the pay will increase if the work is done right. If something wrong were to happen, proper measures would be taken and the company would not let them be thrown out like a useless ragdoll without any word because it failed."

"There must have been a plausible reason for a large amount of actors and actresses to just suddenly leave then." Kuroko replied with a little more snap. "What was the company doing? Why did they not have more trust in it? If it wasn't simply money then what else?"

Their voices started to become louder and sound less civil.

"…..What are you trying to say?"

"I'm trying to portray that maybe there was something wrong with the arrangements."

"Are you implying that Riko did something wrong?"

"No," Kuroko snapped his head at Akashi's strong gaze. "She isn't the only one in charge of the documents. There's someone in the department who must have made a mistake which opted for your colleagues to leave."

"Then why not complain? Tell the owners themselves that something seems wrong." Akashi bent down as he venomously stared at the blank eyes that were gazing with very well hidden fury. "Why not speak out? It's not right to just leave without a word, barge out and just come back."

Kuroko's eyes twitched. "I'll have you know – "

"BOYS!" Momoi cut in as she pinched the two boys' cheeks, causing the tension to suddenly disappear. "The food is getting cold and the kids are waiting for you! I can't distract them for long after all." She gave a sheepish smile. "They were starting to throw the food and utensils around."

"I'll see to it that they stop." Was all Kuroko said before marching off to the dining room.

"I've taught them better manners than that." Akashi muttered heatedly as he followed.

Momoi sighed quietly.

When the two had reunited after so many years, both seemed oddly surprised and friendly with each other in their conversations. The interactions were open and maybe not as chummy as they were back then but it was a good start.

But why was it that after at least 2 weeks of being within each other's presence that they suddenly just became stiff? The teasing was completely gone and it was as though their relationship was just simply as boss and employee who happened to have a closed off relationship.

When had a wall appeared and started separating the two?

"KAZUNARI."

"It's Takao, Orenjina." The narrow eyed man hissed. He turned away and picked up his camera to put in its case

"And where do you think you're going?" Orenjina scowled as she watched the teen.

"I've finished all my classes for today and tomorrow's free for me since there's a seminar at the hospital for those old dudes. Students and part timers like me were given a break so I'll be tying up some loose strings."

"Oh, you're going back to that dreadful orphanage?" The distaste in her voice sounded absolutely awful in Takao's ears.

"I'll agree with you on that, it was dreadful but better than this place." Takao mumbled before standing up to leave the well decorated room. She didn't need to know that he wasn't actually going to visit the orphanage. "I'm not coming home till maybe tomorrow evening."

"I'm absolutely happy to hear that. How about not coming back at all?"

"Dad will be angry and send a search warrant on me." Takao replied simply but honestly, he really wished that he could leave and never return to this house.

"Akashi and the kids are going to spend some family time together." Momoi chirped as she barged into Aida's home with said woman screaming bloody hell at her. "So... how about spending the day with me?"

"Oh, but– "

"Great!" Momoi immediately pulled the surprised man out of the room and dragged him to the elevator.

TING

Kuroko looked at the pink haired woman with an unhappy expression (it looked blank to Momoi but she sensed the reluctance from her friend). "I don't think it's a good idea for me to just go out like this."

"Why?" She asked a little bit too quickly.

"Orenjina-san might find me." The voice had a monotonous tone but the fear could be heard and felt by Momoi. She simply nodded.

"I know."

Kuroko looked at her with suspicion in his blank orbs but kept quiet instead. It's been far too long since he's seen the bubbly teen who had grown into such a beautiful woman.

He should give effort in rebuilding the friendship that he had to sacrifice to become a teacher and to hide from a woman who probably had good intentions but just didn't know how to accept a no for an answer.

"…..What have you been doing these past 8 years?" Kuroko asked as they stepped out of the elevator.

"Going around the world, modeling and designing my own clothes. I've also been visiting Akashi-kun whenever I come back to Japan." The last sentence was said with a mix of happiness and gloominess.

"That must be fun."

"Which one?" Momoi's face suddenly became uncomfortably close to Kuroko's. "Going around the world? Yes, that's very enjoyable. But I don't think it's your type of thing to model or design clothes….And to go around the world too since you prefer staying at home."

She had a thoughtful expression as she continued a little more quietly, "But if you're talking about visiting Akashi-kun…."

"Momoi-san?" Kuroko asked stoically as his eyes gazed at the pink haired woman's teary eyed orbs.

"No, never mind." She turned away and took out her handkerchief. After a few moments of wiping her face, she gave him a smile.

Kuroko didn't comment at how fake it looked but spoke out quietly, "Where will we be going?"

"I don't know." Momoi answered honestly.

"Oh." The bluenette looked down on the pavement, only noticing now that he's rather far from the apartment he left just a few minutes ago. "Well, how about we just let our feet bring us around?"

"That would be nice." Kuroko couldn't help but notice a peculiar undertone in her voice. "Like old times."

"Right. Just like….old times." He walked onwards with Momoi in the busy city as he drowned in his memories.

When Kuroko was still a cute high school student.

3rd Year High School

"Tetsu-kun!" An 18 year old girl called out as she ran to catch up to her phantom like classmate. It had taken her the whole day to finally get a glimpse of the boy but it was enough for her.

"Good afternoon, Momoi-san." Kuroko greeted as he stopped in his tracks and turned to face her. "Is there something wrong?"

"No, not at all!" She blushed. This was it! It was her last year here in Teiko and she should at least to get one serious date with Kuroko. "Um, would you like to go out with me? Classes were just dismissed and all but I don't know if you're free for the rest of the afternoon."

Kuroko stared at her with silence that was shaking her to the core before he finally looked away to glance at something.

Or more correctly, someone.

Trying to follow the gaze, Momoi turned her back and the first thing she saw was red hair before it disappeared again. She didn't have time to frown or contemplate about that man's coincidental presence in such an important time for her because Kuroko replied almost a moment later.

"….I'd be glad to go out with you this afternoon." The words struck her heart. Momoi suddenly felt dizzy. "Where would you like to go?"

"Um…." Wow, she didn't think that far into this. This was rather unlikely of her but Kuroko made her do things that she normally wouldn't do. "I don't know…."

"Then let's have our feet bring us there like we always do." Kuroko replied bluntly.

Like we always do.

No! She didn't want this to be like some outing between friends to him but how could she portray her feelings to someone like Kuroko?

"Can we visit the convenience store first?" She blurted out suddenly. "I mean…. to get some ice cream while walking around?"

That place had been the very first time she met her mysterious classmate and talked with him. It had so much sentimental significance in her heart.

As did ice cream and Popsicle sticks.

"Of course, Momoi-san." Kuroko easily agreed. "Though, can you wait for me at the entrance of the school? I apologize but I have something to do first."

"That's alright!" She replied a little too loudly. "I hope you don't mind me asking but what are you going to do?"

"I need to visit President-kun."

'What?' She was confused for a moment before the memory of the red hair she got a glimpse of earlier returned to her mind. It was that man again.

Akashi Seijuro, the council president.

She's been around Kuroko long enough to know that those two were close. Best friends in fact. Normally, if one was in the room, the other was somewhere nearby.

She couldn't help but wonder if Kuroko was going to inform him of the 'outing' he had with her which shouldn't really bother her and all because they were just best friends.

Yes, just best friends.

Lately they've been growing apart though. The whole school has noticed that Akashi's attitude had been growing bitter since last year but it didn't hold a candle to the astringent and harsh attitude he had this year. Those two were almost never seen together anymore.

Akashi was still charming and respectful but there was this aura of terror that made people tremble around his presence. People were influenced by his words back then but now, people feared just how brilliant he was.

The flair he had that made him capable of manipulating people just made people shiver in fear and delight.

And since they were so engrossed in the growing excellence Akashi was displaying, no one noticed that the shadow that once always followed him around started appearing less and less.

She didn't know why but Kuroko looked forlorn whenever someone was talking about Akashi around his presence. His head would bow down and he would mutter something incoherent to himself.

But it wasn't important now. In fact, it wasn't any of her business!

She should concentrate on making her classmate happy instead. Distract him from the one who was making sad.

"Sure thing!" She replied to Kuroko. "I'll wait for you!"

As she said she would, she waited.

And she only stopped waiting after 8 years.

Present time

Midorima bit his lip nervously as he wiped his glasses.

"Is there something wrong, Shintarou?" Akashi asked as he looked up from his book. Every so often, the two of them would read their books in the library while everyone else watched TV or played outside.

"It's nothing important, father." He replied as professionally as he could while keeping his unhappy expression from taking over his face. "Some of the dust on my glasses just irritated my eyes."

"Really?" Akashi asked coolly as he poked Midorima's flushing cheeks. "Then why do you look like you're about to sob and bawl out? Did you misplace your lucky item again? It's in Kise's room if you didn't know."

'I know…' He thought dejectedly as he tried to ignore the finger that kept poking him. 'He needed to borrow my special blue ball pen to draw Tetsu-nii something.'

"Tetsu-nii…? Oh, right…" The adult was puzzled for a moment before he realized who the child was talking about. A small frown formed on his handsome face. "Tetsuya."

Midorima mentally smacked himself. He forgot about how easily his father can read through his thoughts. The whole situation just made him so careless with his actions lately.

"My siblings and I noticed that he's been looking down so…" He bit his lip a little. "We thought that we should make something for him."

"I'll talk to him about it." Akashi stated seriously as he placed his book down and stood up. "His attitude should not be interfering with his work at –"

The green haired child followed after the taller man and grabbed his arm before he could go any farther. "Father, please don't do anything like that!"

With a surprised expression on his face, Akashi stilled and glanced at the normally cool headed boy.

"I….." Midorima took a deep breath before continuing. "I know that you and Tetsu-nii haven't been getting along for a while because I was there when you two talked."

"Talked? I always talk with him after I get home from work."

"Y-you know. There was that day when you came home with a sour look on your face because you saw a w-woman and heard something you d-d-didn't like." Oh, great. He was stuttering. "I kind of followed you and Tetsu-nii then you started arguing and saying something about how he should've stayed with you all those years ago instead of running away…"

"I didn't understand a lot of it to be honest b-b-but I was able to pick up that you two knew each other before and had a fight before Tetsu-nii suddenly disappeared years ago and I was scared that he would go away again since you guys fought and…." Tears were falling from his eyes now. "You'd be sad again…."

"Were you perhaps friends back then? It's sad that he never visited like Aunt Satsuki did….. She seems to know Tetsu-nii too but you two never mentioned him like you did with your colleagues or old school friends." Midorima sniffed a little. "I think you two should make up before you both get hurt more…."

After that, he started crying nonstop with Akashi picking him up from the ground and into his arms with a soft expression on his face.

'I don't want more people to leave me…' The child trembled as his clutched the older man's clothes. 'I want my brother…'

Takao stepped out of the taxi after paying the driver. With an excited grin on his face, he rushed through the streets while finishing the sandwich he had ordered.

"Hey, watch where you're going, you brat!" An old man yelled at him for he nearly bumped into his cart of fruits.

"S'rry!" Takao yelled, his voice was slightly muffled by the food in his mouth.

'Just a few more blocks...' He thought to himself. 'Just a few more...'

Takao had done his research well.

Some years ago, the orphanage he had been adopted from had closed down due to financial problems. The children who had once lived there had moved on to different parts of Japan. He had been one of the oldest back then until the Orenjinas found him.

He didn't really remember his mother that well but obviously she was the 'other woman' in his biological father's relationship. Probably after discovering she was pregnant with an illegitimate child, she made a run for it. Her father was married to another woman and had a child of his own after all. There was no hope for her to start a complete family back then.

She gave birth to him just before meeting her untimely death just a few weeks after.

To think that his father would still look for him after all these years. Apparently, he knew that his mother was pregnant with him but she had hidden herself from him. It was a miracle that the man even found him.

Probably if not for him, Takao would've run away after the first day of being in that horrid household. He looked nothing like Orenjina Senior except for the eyes.

"Takao-kun?" He was stopped abruptly in his tracks when he felt a cold hand grab his arm. He flinched a little before looking towards the man who had addressed him.

His narrow eyes widened impossibly.

"TETSU-CHAN!" Takao smiled brightly as he hugged the older man tightly. "It's been so long! Where on earth have you been? I've been looking for you ever since I learned that my sister's been after you cute little butt! You were even practically off everyone's radar for three months! I thought you died in a ditch or something!"

The hug got even tighter. "Takao-kun, please let me go. My supply of oxygen is decreasing by the second."

The former orphan released the poor baby sitter from his grip.

"Haha, sorry about that." Takao laughed sheepishly before looking at the woman who had a confused smile on her face. "Hey wait a minute, I know you! You're Momoi Satsuki from that weird magazine my sister always reads! You probably get that a lot but anyways, I'm Takao Kazunari!"

"It's very nice to meet you." Momoi smiled genuinely at the happy teen.

Kuroko nodded. "You've certainly grown since the last time I saw you. Though I have to ask, who is this sister you're talking about?"

Takao's grin fell a little.

"Oh? You know her very well! Her name's Orenjina Natsumi." Kuroko paled a little at the mention of her name which Takao ignored. He could understand why his former teacher had that reaction. He had the same one too every time she entered the room. "I'm trying to get her off your case but I needed to find someone from the orphanage first!"

"I see," Kuroko said. "When were you adopted? And how are the others from the orphanage?"

"Yeah, I was adopted around four years ago. I'm not really sure what happened to the others." Takao mumbled the last part quietly. "They closed down the orphanage years ago."

Kuroko looked surprised for a moment. "I didn't expect that..."

"Yeah. It really shocked me when I heard the news."

"Um, excuse me Tetsu-kun!" Momoi clapped her hands to catch the other's attention. "I need to make a call."

"It's fine, Momoi-san." The bluenette nodded in understanding. "I'll wait for you near that café over there."

"Thank you!" In a rush, Momoi ran while dialing a number on her phone.

The two were silent as they watched the pinkette run off but Takao couldn't keep his curiosity at bay for too long.

"Is she the one who's been helping you in hiding from Orenjina?" Takao asked with great interest.

"No." Kuroko replied. "I didn't need much help in hiding from your sister in the first place..."

Takao rolled his eyes. "Really?"

"Well... I did come across some difficulties on the way but they were resolved." Kind of. The bluenette added in his mind. "And as for Momoi, I just happened to reunite with her after finally getting a job after 2 years of being unemployed. I haven't seen her since I was a student because of work and... well, your sister."

"Really?" Takao perked up. Orenjina was really giving the poor guy a hard time. "What's your job now?"

"I'm a baby sitter." He stated bluntly. The blank haired teen laughed in reply.

"So you're still surrounding yourself with kids, huh?" Takao grinned fondly. One of his many fond memories at the orphanage was being taught by Kuroko. It was too bad that the man only got to stay for a year. "Whose kids are you taking care of now? Obviously this guy knows your background if he's willing to let a guy who's been unemployed for a while now take care of his children."

Kuroko pouted a little at how his former student described him but accepted the harsh truth for what it was.

"He's been very considerate to my situation." Kuroko admitted with reluctance. His relationship with his employer was rocky at best at the moment but he acknowledged how kind the man has been. "His name is Akashi Seijuro."

The name made the smile fall from Takao's face.

"Wait! The Akashi Seijuro?! You have to take me to him!" Takao said as he suddenly gripped the shorter male's shoulders. "I need to talk to him!"

"What business do you have with Akashi-kun?" Kuroko mentally frowned at his wording but continued talking with his usual tone. "Is there something wrong?"

"Remember I mentioned that there's someone I'm looking for from the orphanage? He was adopted a few weeks after I left with the Orenjinas. His case was kept hush hush for some reason but I was recently able to find him! He's with your boss!"

"Wait, Takao-kun, slow down."

"I've been looking for him for years! He was like a brother to me and I practically raised him because the matrons had their hands full! I wasn't even able to give a proper good bye to him!"

"Who is this person?" Kuroko asked.

"My Shin-chan..." The teenager said softly and lovingly. "You stopped teaching before he arrived at the orphanage so you might know him more as Midorima Shintarou!"

"Akashi-kuuuuun!"

"There's no need to shout." There was crying heard in the background which Momoi ignored for now because she recognized who exactly was causing all the noise.

"Yes, there is! You'll never guess who I met today!"

"I can't exactly tell now can I? You suddenly just left a note saying that you were kidnapping Tetsuya for the day." The crying softened to whimpers at the sound of the bluenette's name.

"Just guess, pleeeaaase….." Akashi would never be able to guess who!

"What, some man with family relations to Tetsuya's stalker?"

Silence was her reply.

"I'm right, aren't I?" The words were said with a mix of amusement and frustation.

"...Yes."

OMAKE: 10 fun (and angst filled) facts

1. Kuroko honestly never learned Akashi's name during his time in Teikou because of the bell, the loud voices of his other classmates during the announcement of the Student Council Officers (Everyone knew who was going to win anyway... it was always the same people who ran for the position) and because Akashi himself found it hilarious so also helped out in keeping his name unknown to the poor boy.

2. Akashi was a really big jerk during 3rd year while Kuroko did something that made them cut ties for good during 3rd year (more information will be released in the next chapter)

3. Akashi cut his bangs after High School and only grew them back sometime before he adopted Murasakibara.

4. Momoi and Akashi attended the same College and abhorred each other. (more information will be released sometime in the future)

5. Takao and Orenjina's dad wasn't a womanizer but just really wanted someone to love him since Orenjina's mom didn't (it was an arranged marriage). He's one of those guys who would do almost anything to get their children to love them.

6. Kiyoshi's gang and the rainbow children often fight at school but in an inconspicuous manner so that they don't get caught.

7. Haizaki was Kuroko's first student at College. And the most difficult one at that. (more information will be released to the public some other time)

8. Akashi's father is still running the company. The father-son duo agreed on something so for the mean time, Akashi jr. won't be in charge of the company.

9. Kuroko hated Akashi at one point while Akashi didn't know what to feel about Kuroko.

10. Aida and Akashi have a hate-more hate relationship at work. They would call each other at ungodly hours, give important details only at the last minute and give each other decaffeinated coffee. But they hold great respect for each other and get work done so that's alright.
