ZL98: Hi everyone I know its been a very long time since I have updated, and I would like to apologize. I have had a rough time with school and several health issues with close family members. I have finally reached a spot in my life where I can finally start working on things again. I hope you enjoy this chapter, please review and rate, and one again I own absolutely nothing.
It wasn't long before the Cullens realized what Alice meant. About three miles from their home they began to hear sounds of construction and serval people shouting. Edward let his curiosity get the better of him as he ventured from his home to investigate. Following the sounds, he came upon the old abandoned house that had sat at the edge of their property for years. They had looked into buying the land that the house rested on when they first moved to the area years ago, but it was already owned by some rich, snobbish that had no interest in staying there. The essentially owned it to say they owned it in Edward's eyes. The house had once been a beautiful 3 story Victorian style manor, with a wraparound porch and a matching second (and third) story balcony. Edward had never been inside, but Carlisle and he had both picture the interior a thousand times inside their heads. It was the home Esme had modelled their first home her after. She hadn't admitted it, but it broke her heart a little when the young, and quite rude, women who owned it refused to sell. It broke her heart even more to watch it fall into such a state of disrepair over the years. The pain well wore and the wood rotting.
"I wonder what they will be like. They must have a decent amount of money if they are remodeling the entire home." Esme's soft voice came from behind him. He has been so lost in thought that he hadn't even hear her come up from behind him. He didn't have to read her mind to her the excitement in her voice. He to could see the old home that had once stood proudly.
"I don't know. They could be like the old hag who wouldn't let you but the place." He laughed at the way she pursed her lips. "What was her name again? Wallberga?"
"We don't speak of her Edward." Esme sighed looking longingly at the house. "Let's return home before they notice us here." With that they turned and raced each other back to the house. As they ran Edward couldn't keep the eyes he had seen in Alice's mind out of his head. They haunted him every time he closed his eyes. He was growing to hate them. He hated how he thought of them, how they tormented him, and especially how they made his body react. He shook his head to try to clear the thoughts from his head, and as he approached the house he could hear it. They screeched and yelled, and all he could do was roll his eyes and sigh as he opened the door and was greeted to the sight of Bella picking herself off the floor.
Alice liked to think she was a very nice and calm person, and in truth that's who she was. She loved her family and loved humans. She loved her mate, and the life they had together, though it had been difficult in the beginning. There was only one thing she absolutely in this moment hated and it name was Bella Swan. She hated the way her family even after her warnings, bowed down to all but worship her. She hated the was her family let her order them around. She hated the way she had Edward wrapped around her figure. NO ONE SEEMED TO CARE. In short Alice Cullen hated everything to do with Isabella Swan, but her family loved her. Knowing all of this she should have bit her tongue and ignored the her. Ignore the way she talked to her family, and the biting comment she made. But Alice had enough, and the simple comment sent her over the edge. The conversation was simple it was between Bella and Carlisle about the possible side effects of her impending transformation, and what it entailed for the family.
"So how long will I have to stay away from my father?" Bella's voice dripped with fake concern. Thinking of all the things she'd finally be able to do.
"It depends on how long it will take you to control your thirst. It could take years or months even, although I still think the best option will be to fake your death and let them move on." Carlisle voice was sympathetic as Charlie was a dear friend of his, and he knew how much this would hurt him.
"You know I think you might be right." The smirk had been well hidden but Alice had seen it. She was going to let it slide but the visions of he family maimed and strewn across but this one was different. Resting in Bella hand was the head of her mate. Alice's mind went blank, and she began to shake with rage at the thought of that bitch touching her life mate. She took a deep breath to calm down; this wasn't the first time she had seen this. She was fine until Bella opened her mouth and said, "That sounds like a good idea wouldn't you say Alice?"
The smile on her face and the malice in her eyes drove her over the edge, and she lost control. She snarled and flung herself across the room at Bella. Her mate's arms wrapping around her waist midair, stopping her. Alice's hand stretched out and managed to at least land a pathetic slap to that bitch's smug face sending her flying over the coffee table and onto the floor. That was when the arguing insured. Bella screeching at the top of her lungs, Rosalie laughing, and her family defending the evil creature howling on the floor. The divide in her family had never been clearer. Carlisle stood protecting Bella, while Rosalie stood in front of her defending her while her mate's arms held her still. He was using everything in his power to calm the room down but it wasn't working. Emmet stood there unable to choose a side any longer. He like Bella but knew that Alice wouldn't act this way for this long if something wasn't seriously wrong.
"What in the hell is going on?" Edwards voice cut through, and everyone froze. Bella picked herself off the floor and staggered over to him crying. He took one look at her face, already turning purple and blue, and glared at Alice. Jasper tensed, tucking his mate behind his back, and stared him down. "What in the hell did you do?"
"Edward don't." Jaspers voiced calmly, as Edward had started to move towards them. Alice didn't say anything but opened her mind to him for the first time in days and showed him the visions she had seen. Showed his perfect Bella laughing and dancing around their corpses. He shook his head refusing to believe what she showed him, but she wouldn't stop it was like the flood gates had finally been released and all her visions poured into his mind. Through all the carnage a freckled red headed man popped into his mind, with the bright blue eyes that had been torturing him all day. It was only then that Alice closed her mind to him.
"Carlisle look at Bella's face, and see how bad it is." He peeled his arm away from her and sighed. "I will take her home when you're done."
"WHAT?!" Everyone in the room gasped at the same time. His family, including Alice was shocked he didn't attempt to tear her to shreds. This was the woman he loved and he wasn't enraged? Esme and Carlisle were beyond disbelief.
"You're just going to let her slap me and get away with it? What the hell?" Bella could not believe what was happening. He wasn't defending her. He wasn't enraged. He wasn't acting like himself. He wasn't acting like the man she had wrapped around her finger.
"I need to have a conversation with Alice and with you later." Edward looked into her eyes that he once found so amazing, and found them a dull muddy brown. Nothing could compare to the eyes in Alice's vision. Those crystal blue eyes that sparkled with mischief and joy, but held a mystery to them he couldn't solve. "Let my father tend to the bruise on your face and figure out what to tell your dad. I'm going to talk to Alice and then I'll stop buy your house later tonight."
Bella stared into his eyes and felt herself melt but did not trust him. There was something lurking in his eyes that troubled her. She began to fear for her future with his family. "Alright I will, and I already know what I'm going to tell Charlie."
As she disappeared with Carlisle, Edward met his sister eyes. They both nodded and headed outside the house. They ran fast to a small clearing just out of ear shot of their family. The clearing was small and grove like, with a glistening pond, with a draping willow hanging over. Wild flowers of every color were bloomed painting a breath-taking scene. Alice mental prepared herself for the worse. Jasper had followed them but gave them about a mile between them to give them some semblance of privacy. She expected yelling and fighting, but Edward just stood there staring at the water.
"Who is he Alice? The man with those eyes I can't seem to get out of my head." His voice was soft almost to low to hear. She was floored. That's all he could think about? She giggled with glee and told him the truth.
"I'm not sure Edward. He's new to town but I think he will make you happy." She smiled as he sighed.
"I think I've made a terrible mistake Alice."
"How are you going to fix it?"
"I'm not sure." He sighed at the mess they were in. "Do you think she would actually hurt us if she was changed?"
"I've been getting visions for months now." She paused at Edwards sharp breath. "I didn't want to believe it at first because I didn't think they were true. I doubted my sight because of the love I had for her. I wanted her to be my sister but they kept coming, so yes Edward I think she plans to kill all of us."
"We need to play this carefully Alice. No one can know that I know. She has to remain oblivious to everything if we want to beat her at her own game." Edward locked eyes with his sister. "Apologize to her and act like you have been the last few weeks until we can find a solution. I will not let this traitorous bitch hurt my family."
Alice smiled and nodded. She had been waiting for this moment, praying for it. Waiting for her brother to finally come to his senses. She was beyond happy that he was finally acting like himself again. They both ran back to the house to deal with the snake that had coiled itself around their family.
…..…..
It was with a soft pop that Harry and his family landed at the entrance to the U.S. Wizarding Customs. It was dark and to most it seemed like they had already closed but Harry knew better. He had contacted them before hand to set up a private meeting with the head of the department so they could not only speed up the process but they could also it could be done discretely. He didn't want anyone to know where they were. He didn't want anyone harassing what little bit of peace they were trying to have. No aurors, no politics, no fighting, no harassment, no idiots, and no fucking fan girls. Harry shuddered at the mere thought of the drooling, foaming at the mouth saps that swore they would be his next wife. They walked inside to get on with their meeting and were surprised when it was not the head of customs waiting for them but President Samuel G. Quahog, the president of the wizarding community.
"Ah Mister Potter I was wondering when you would be arriving."
"It's a pleasure to meet you sir but you can imagine how surprised we are to see you. I was expecting the head of this department sir not you." Harry drawled casually and his guard throw up at this unpleasant surprise.
"Yes, well it's not every day that we get a wizard as powerful as you crossing our boarder." Quahog replied with a slight smile. He turned to the twins and smiled even larger. "It's also not every day that we have such profound pranksters in our presence either"
"Oi-"
"We didn't bring-"
"Anything that could hurt anyone-"
"Just some research notes we've been working on" the twins rapid fire their response. They were true to their word, as the only thing they had brought were notes on a surprise for Harry. "We have no problem showing you the notes but you have to keep it to yourself."
"Very well." Quahog replied laughing. "Now it's late let's get this over with so we can all go home to sleep.
It took them roughly an hour to get through all the checks needed. There was a slight hang up on the paper work for all the pets they were set to bring with them, but after obtaining an American permit for them everything was in order. If Harry was being honest with himself he was not looking forward to doing this all over again with Remus and Teddy when they finally joined them. Americans had lightened up some since the incidents with Grindelwald, but it wasn't much. They were more tolerant than England but they still tightly regulated the number of werewolves they allowed across the border. It was going to be difficult but they had both already started working on the paper work to get them approved.
Harry was pulled from his musing by his dreamy sister tugging at the sleeve of his shirt. "What did you see dearest sister?"
"To many wonderful things to possibly be true." She sighed quietly as she rested her head on his shoulder. "I hope they are right though. If they are you will finally be happy with a family all your own."
"You're right," Harry chuckled softly with a grin on his face. He laid his head on hers, "To good be true indeed."
With all their affairs finally in order, Harry and his family made the finally jump to their new home.
…
Emmett had been thinking, which unknown to anyone other than Rose, he had done quite often. For the past few weeks he had been watching, listening, and observing his family. He watched them fight, and argue over nothing because deep down that's what she was to him. Nothing. Since she was so insignificant he was curious. He was curious as to why one plain human girl caused so much drama with in his family. He understood that Edward thought she was his mate, he had even thought so to at one point, now though he wasn't so sure. He had made the same mistake himself with Rose. Thought she was his only but it wasn't so. They had just come to love each other, grow comfortable with each other, and then mutually agreed they were better off just being siblings. In Edwards case he wasn't sure anymore, because in the past few weeks he had seen a different side of Ms. Isabella Swan. She no longer had the same spark in her eyes that Edward did, instead it was replaced with something darker. It lingered beneath the surface, and in the past few weeks he had watched it grow showing itself longer and longer before hiding again. The more he watched it, the more he believed Alice was telling the truth.
It was Saturday morning when they heard the construction sounds. It was slightly misting allowing them to work with little hindrance he guessed. He watched Edward leave the house to investigate with Esme not far behind him. He turned back to the television pretending to be absorbed in the game currently playing, but he was instead watching the room. Bella was meaninglessly talking about her impending transformation with Carlisle, all the while the tension between her and Alice building. It was winding, coiling like a snake despite his brother's efforts to break it. He looked over when Bella casually addressed Alice. The malice was hidden well in her eyes, he doubted that anyone else saw it, the darkness darkening her eyes ever so slightly. He didn't move. He didn't stop her. He only watched as Alice's control broke and she flew at Bella. It wasn't his place to stop her. His family moved into action and the line was clearly drawn in their family. Alice, Jasper, and rose on one side; Carlisle and Bella on the other. The divide in their family clear. Esme joined her mate when they finally arrived seconds later, and Edward to his surprise, made a decision he had been waiting on. He left with Alice to talk about everything. He wanted so desperately to leave with them, had had many questions he wanted to ask his dear sister, but he would wait. This was Edwards time to talk to her and he wouldn't interrupt it.
"I can't believe she did this." Bella whiny voice dragged him out of his thoughts. "He didn't even defend me Carlisle."
"I know." Carlisle touched her face gently "I will speak with them both later."
He went about tending to her face, trying to keep it from bruising to horribly as she continued to whine and cry about the "injustice" of the entire attack. Se whined even louder about the pain she was feeling and rightly so. Despite his best efforts he face was turning a lovely shade of black and deep purple on the left side. Emmett personally thought she was lucky when Carlisle told her nothing was broken. She was even luckier that Jasper had managed to stop Alice, but still she continued to whine and cry. It felt like hours before his siblings returned and finally silenced her annoying voice.
They entered quietly. Edward behind his sister as she hung her head down. "I'm sorry Bella." Alice spoke softly before darting up to her room. Bella eyes brightened slightly at the apology and Emmett hid his disgust.
"Bella let's go."
"That's it? Some meager apology that she doesn't even mean? You're not going to defend me?" Bella fake sobbed as Esme hugged her close.
"Is there any bones broken in her face?" He had completely ignored her.
" NO there isn't, however it will stay bruised for some time."
"Alright. Let's go."
"But-"
"Bells lets go." Edwards face had softened as he grabbed her hand gently. "We'll talk about this when we get to your house."
"Fine." She huffed as she marched out of the house and to his car. As they walked away hand in hand Emmett saw it again. A sinister smirk had made its way to her lips before it melted into a sweet smile. The evil lingering in her eyes as she got into the front seat and they drove away. Emmett felt himself smirk as well. No one seemed to notice the ever so slight change in his brother before they left. He had. It wasn't much, just a slight change in his posture, the way he said her name, and the way he looked at her. He grabbed his jacket and left to feed. Yes, he chuckled as he ran, he doubted anyone was ready for whatever his brother had planned. Bella was in for the surprise of her life.

ZL98: Well there is it guys. I know I spent a lot of this chapter focused on the Cullens, but that's because I really needed to go ahead and have these scenes from these respective people to progress the story the way that I want. Please let me know what you guys think and remember I don't own anything.
