Hey everybody. so this is the epilogue of the story. Thank you to everyone who read it, especially those that reviewed. It made my day every time. I hope you enjoyed it!
"This isn't up for discussion Face." Hannibal said to a pouting Face a week later.
"I won't do it. Honestly Hannibal, I'm perfectly capable-"
"Face! You are using the wheelchair." Hannibal interrupted firmly. "You are still healing and the doctors said to rest." Honestly Hannibal wanted to shake the kid. They went through the same lines every time Face got to leave the hospital and Face had yet to win this argument.
"But Hannibal, I don't wanna take the wheelchair. I've been stuck in a bed for ages, I just want to use my damn legs!" Face whined. It was so embarrassing to be wheeled out of the hospital when he was perfectly capable of walking. He stood up angrily and started to walk to the door.
Hannibal had had enough. He strode over to his errant boy and landed a quick swat to get his attention. "Now you listen to me Face. Either you behave and sit down in that chair or I'll listen to the doctors and leave you here another couple of nights. Your choice."
Face instantly sat in the chair. He hated the hospital and had to practically beg Hannibal to get him out today. The doctors wanted him to stay for a few more days just in case but Hannibal knew that if he didn't get the kid out soon, Face would make his own escape.
Hannibal grinned behind Face's back at his instant acquiescence and pushed his chair out the door. BA and Murdock were waiting in the car outside and his boys were finally all going to be home. Today was a good day.
BA and Murdock were ecstatic. The instant Face woke up things had started getting better. Sure they were in trouble for fighting and had 2 extra hours of training a day but their little brother was awake and now he was coming home. Murdock was glad that he would have someone to chat with about nonsensical things. BA was just glad he wouldn't have to eat any more hospital food.
They grinned when they saw a pouting Face being wheeled out. They knew just how much he hated the chair and were well aware that Hannibal would have had to fight to get him in it. "Bossman won again." BA whispered to Murdock, fighting back laughter, which Face instantly read on their faces and he glared angrily. He went to push himself up but Hannibal easily pushed him back down with his own glare. Face reluctantly allowed them to help him into the van and they headed home.
That night, they gathered in the living room where a bored Face was lying on the couch. Hannibal still refused to let him go to his room, worried about Face doing strenuous activity if he wasn't watched so they were doing a movie night. Hannibal threw the bags of popcorn at them carelessly before carrying over four cans of coke.
"Oh come on Hannibal." BA groaned. "Why can't we have a beer?"
"Because BA, Face is still on medication and isn't allowed alcohol. Besides you can last a couple nights without one." Hannibal replied. He didn't think it was fair for them all to be drinking while Face got stuck with coke.
BA started pouting so Murdock grabbed a handful of popcorn and threw it at him with a grin. This caused BA to tackle him and hold him in a headlock. Face was about to leap in but Hannibal easily threw his arm in front of him and Face sat back with a sigh, before cheering on the tussle. That's when Murdock whispered something to BA who grinned back. Then simultaneously they leapt up grabbing Hannibal's arms and yanking him down to the ground with them.
Face sat there grinning as his team wrestled on the ground. He wished he could join them but knew that Hannibal would not be pleased and since he was still facing his punishment for disobeying and lying about injuries, he didn't want to push Hannibal too far. Besides there would be many more nights that he would be able to partake in the rough housing. For now he just threw more popcorn at the struggling men and thanked god that Hannibal had decided to interrupt his fight all those years previously, had seen something in him worth fighting for, that Hannibal had started this family.
