Richard walks down the restaurant with this wife and they are quickly escorted to their table. Richard pulls his wife's chair out for her before he sits down. "Shall we have wine with dinner?" He's trying to keep everything casual and light for now. He doesn't want to delve into difficult discussions if Hyacinth isn't ready.

"That would be lovely. Why don't you choose, Richard? You're better at picking a nice wine." Hyacinth compliments her husband.

"I know you prefer white wine, so I'll pick a nice Chardonnay for us. Have you looked at the menu yet?" Richard asks his wife.

"I've glanced over it, but I haven't made any firm decisions on what I want yet. The entrees all sound so yummy I don't know how to choose." Hyacinth smiles at her husband who has his glasses on the end of his nose.

"Just pick something you know you'll like and remember that for the price on the front we get three courses." Richard reminds his wife.

"Now I have to pick three things! I'm having enough trouble picking an entree!" Hyacinth says with wide eyes. She takes a long look at the salads before she at least decides on an appetizer. "Have you decided on an appetizer yet, Richard?"

"I think so. It was a hard decision, there were lots of choices. I'm going to have the spinach salad with pears, Brie, and raspberries. I haven't decided on an entree yet though." Richard says as the waitress walks up to them.

"Can I get you something to drink?" Carla, their waitress, asks the couple.

"Can we get a ½ bottle of house Chardonnay, please?" Richard asks the waitress.

"Of course, sir. I'll give you a few minutes to decide on something to eat." Carla says as she goes to get them some wine.

"Have you decided on an appetizer, Hyacinth?" Richard asks as he sets his menu down.

"Yes, I'm going to have the warm spinach salad with apples and Brie. I haven't quite decided on an entree quite yet, however." Hyacinth continues to peruse the menu.

"I think I've decided what to have. Again it wasn't an easy decision, but I'm going to have the crab cakes with roasted red pepper aioli." Richard tells his wife.

"That sounds really good. I'm going to have the seared scallops with orzo risotto. It sounds so yummy." Hyacinth looks over the menu before she sets it aside.

"Fresh scallops sound really nice." Richard smiles at his wife as Carla comes over with their white wine.

"Are you ready to order?" Carla asks as she pours each of them a glass of wine.

"Yes, I think we are. Go ahead, dear." Richard encourages his wife.

"I'll have the warm spinach salad with apples and Brie to start and then the seared scallops with orzo risotto, please." Hyacinth requests cordially.

"Good choices, ma'am, and for you sir?" Carla asks as she jots down Hyacinth's order.

"I'll have the spinach salad with pears, Brie, and raspberries to start and the crab cakes with roasted red pepper aioli." Richard requests.

"Excellent choices. I'll let you enjoy your wine until I bring your salads." Carla says kindly.

Hyacinth slowly sips her wine and runs her foot up and down Richard's calf. "This is so nice, Richard. We haven't taken this much time for ourselves in ages. When was the last time we could relax together. I like spending time with you."

"I love spending time with you when we're like this, when we're being open and honest with each other. We're having fun together for the first time in a long time. I'm more relaxed with you than I have been in many years." Richard tells Hyacinth honestly.

Carla comes over with their salads and sets them in front of each person. "Enjoy. Do either of you want fresh ground pepper?"

Both Hyacinth and Richard shake their heads. Hyacinth puts her napkin on her lap and picks up her salad fork. Suddenly the silence isn't so scary between the two of them. She doesn't mind just sitting with Richard whereas before she would try to fill the silence with insignificant words. Richard watches his wife as she eats. She is such a lady, even if she doesn't always or hardly ever see that in herself. Part of her still sees herself as she was before they married. He sets his fork down and sips his wine. Suddenly Hyacinth reaches across the table for Richard's hand. Richard rubs small circles on the back of Hyacinth's hand and smiles at his wife. "Are you enjoying yourself?" Richard asks as he pours himself and Hyacinth a little more wine.

"Yes, I'm enjoying this very much. Don't give me too much more wine since we have to be up and to Dr. Feld's office early tomorrow morning." Hyacinth pleads with her husband.

"Live a little, Hyacinth. You can handle more than one glass of wine. I don't want to have to drink the rest of this all on my own. Have some more wine. Dr. Feld told us to try and relax." Richard teases Hyacinth.

"I don't think he meant alcohol induced relaxation." Hyacinth murmurs. She still sees some very everyday activities as inappropriate and drinking heavily is one of them.

"I don't think we should count it out. It's not like having a drink won't help us loosen our tongues. I get the feeling we've got a lot more to talk about. We've got a lot more to tell each other that will make things awkward. I don't want us to feel like we can't say anything to each other." Richard says gently.

"For the first time in a long time I feel like I can tell you anything. That's comforting to me." Hyacinth smiles at her husband.

"That makes me so happy. It makes me feel so positive about our future. Thank you for being so open minded with all this. I love you more every moment we're here." Richard reaches over and gently touches Hyacinth's cheek.

"After dinner can the two of us go for a walk on the beach? I want to spend time the two of us on the beach. It's so romantic down there and we could use a little more romance." Hyacinth requests gently.

"I'd love to walk on the beach with you. You know I had a thought about what we should plan to do sometime in the near future at the end of this week if everything goes well. Maybe we should go on vacation somewhere warm, where there's a beach and enjoy a second honeymoon. What do you think?" Richard asks sweetly.

"I think it's a wonderful idea. It's such a sweet idea. I was going to suggest a second honeymoon when Sheridan went off to university, but the timing didn't seem right." Hyacinth says happily.

"I think if you'd asked or suggested that second honeymoon then I probably would have said no. You would have been so upset with me if I'd said no. I would have done one more thing to disappoint you. I never wanted to disappoint you." Richard says honestly.

"Now that I look at that time I can see why you would say that. Then I would have been upset with you, but now I won't blame you for that thought at all. I don't blame you for anything at all." Hyacinth says honestly.

"You've certainly mellowed since we got here, Hyacinth. It's nice to see. You aren't usually so relaxed. I've missed moments like this over the years." Richard smiles genuinely at his wife.

"It's so peaceful here. I love that we can hear the ocean from our hotel room. That sound relaxes me so much. It reminds me of my childhood days spent on the beach with my sisters." Hyacinth says wistfully.

Their waitress comes over and collects their salad plates. She brings out the main course. "I hope you enjoy our east coast seafood."

"Thank you." Hyacinth says cordially. She picks up her fork and swirls it through her risotto. Richard covertly watches Hyacinth as she begins to eat. She's so delicate when she eats. "I know you're watching me." Hyacinth says not looking up from her meal. She and Richard may not know each other as well as they used to, but she can still read him like a book, sometimes without even looking at him.

Richard blushes when he gets caught. He picks up his fork and pushes it into his crab cakes. "Are you enjoying your meal?" Richard asks ignoring his wife's comment.

Hyacinth looks as if she's melted in bliss. "It's divine. Fresh seafood is so good."

Richard smiles at his wife. It's so nice to see her this way. She actually looks as though she's really enjoying herself instead of just pretending. He can't remember the last time he saw her this way.

"Are you enjoying your crab cakes?" Hyacinth asks politely.

"They're wonderful. Would you like a small bite?" Richard asks as he puts a small morsel on his fork and holds it out to his wife.

"Thank you, my darling." Hyacinth cups her hand under the fork and leans forward to eat the small bite. She slowly eats the small bite of crab. "It's lovely and light. Would you like a bite of mine?" Hyacinth scoops up a small amount of risotto and small piece of delicate scallop.

Richard takes the fork from Hyacinth and gently brushes his fingers against hers. He can't believe they're using terms of endearment again. He noticed as she lifted the fork that her hand was shaking. She's not quite settled yet, but it's a start and they're only on day one of therapy. He can't imagine how different they're going to be by week's end. She's already so different now.
