"k-kazuma?" she stood in the doorway looking out to the gardens where a tall boy with red-brown hair sat on a bench gazing into the forest. He turned in a whirl, his face breaking into a grin at the sight of her; her sea-foam green hair stirring slightly in the wind, her hands clasped in front of her, her eyes wide and worried. His grin stopped as he began to look at her more closely; seeing the anxious expression on her face.

"What's wrong baby?" he ran forward, cupping her face gently in his large hands, "no don't cry, please don't cry." He gently wiped her tears away and walked her out and onto the bench.

"Do you really love me?" she looked into his eyes, her voice hesitant; as her gaze held his trying to find something, but he couldn't guess what.

"Of course Yukina, I love you. There's no other girl for me, ever since I saw you on that tape; I knew that you were the girl I wanted to love for the rest of my life" his hands enveloped hers, holding them tightly. "but why?"

"Because… well because I think I'm pregnant."

"Wait but we never, I never… someone else?" he looked baffled as he spoke rapidly.

She shook her head looking down at his hands still clasped over hers. "I'm sure he or she is yours; I can't explain I just know… you aren't mad are you?"

"No, no of course not! Honestly I'm happy, a kid… my own kid, who's mom will be you… that's beyond what I'd ever hoped" he smiled widely gently tipping her chin so she'd raise her head, she smiled hesitantly, scooting closer to Kuwabara his arms circling her. "I just don't get how…" he spoke his chest rumbling against her back causing her to smile softly.

"I have a theory" she turned slightly looking up at him. "I think the elders lied, I think that to make sure we never interacted with males or fell in love without their knowing, they made is to that we became with child so that they would be able to find out"

"Wait did you say love?" his eyes looked hopeful as he tried fighting back a grin, not knowing if she meant it.

"Yes… I'm sure of it now, I didn't really know what it meant to be in love but I think I have a pretty good idea now" she smiled and hesitantly rose kissing his jaw. "you make me happier than anyone ever has, my heart hurts when you leave, and jumps for joy when you return, when you get hurt I get the urge to kill whoever hurt you, and when I'm close to you like this my tummy feels funny" she blushed as she made her confession, all the while looking down at their hands.

He grinned kissing her forehead "sounds about right… Yukina will you marry me?" he paused for a moment as she suddenly looked up then rushed forward "I know there's a lot of demons and humans who could offer you more; who are stronger, better looking, smarter or"

She stopped him, kissing him on the lips, in his moment of confusion she went on to speak "of course I will. I don't want anybody else to me you are the strongest, smartest, and handsomest. Your heart is the biggest I've ever seen and that's what matters to me. Your sense of justice and loyalty to your friends and conviction of never giving up those are all the things I admire and love about you."

He kissed her then, over whelmed with happiness and relief; they broke apart and looked at each other both smiling, Yukina's hands wrapped around his neck, her legs now on his lap and his hands on her stomach. "So we're really gonna have a baby?" his voice was filled with wonderment and awe at the idea.

"twins actually" she responded happily, they beamed at each other once more and looked down at her stomach; both satisfied that at least for a while their lives would be perfect.
