This is an Omegaverse fic and my own AU (Alternate Universe) It has some explicit material profound medical/technical terms

Each author has their own take on this trope. Alot of Historical medical and cultural background is provided in this preface. Within this fanfiction, there will be medical terms and the use of these nature arch-types are important to know. Its good to read up on my omegaverse makeup if you don't want to be confused later on.

You may skip it if you understand Omegaverse enough to pick up on the terms and processes throughout.

History of this Alternate Universe

It is said that long-ago, humanity lived in large clans under the protection of animal-like beings. Although these entities are long gone, after millennia of influence, they have left their genetic legacy to human-kind. Creating the natures and granting the ability of Omega males to carry children! Scientists believe these entities where extraterrestrials... since no other species seemed as unique as humans in procreation. While others believe them to be divine spirits of supernatural origins which influenced man-kinds' destiny. Regardless of their origins. Those born were genetically pre-disposed with the instincts and personality of certain animals found in nature.

For centuries, (just as in traditional India), families arranged their social status within community Packs-communes (similar to corporations). Usually structured around an Alpha(+)Male and Alpha(+)Female pair. Any nature and gender capable of producing offspring were traded as 'wives' and commodities in exchange for dowries and territories for the Pack-communes. Problems arose with this system as certain pack-communes eventually came to rule territories and economies as large as countries. Thise pack family names became synonymous with countries. These rulering Packs naturally had rivals personal feuds. Wars eventually broke out regularly.

Until the war to end all wars 70 years ago: The war of Lion and Eagles, took an extreme major tole on the population of the world. Alphas in general became incredibly rare as they were the main militarily participants and casualties. While the war was eventually settled, the cast/pack systems fell into shambles and disarray and a new way to live had to be sought.

The seclusion of Omegas was laxed to increase fertility of the population in general. This new-way substantially lowered crime rate, the unjust bribing between the packs for dowries dissapeared and prosperity increased by running companies through population vote and merit. As Omegas contributed to society and mingled more freely with the still uncommon Alphas, the stereotype of the weak, dumb and defenceless Omegas was largely banished. Some of the old prejudices remain within certain circles and individuals, but developed countries and governments grant equal rights to Omegas (much as woman rights today). Accepting that they mingle with other 'natures' as it became evidently healthier for society.

Unfortunately, Betas still had low fertility rates, higher still-born and infant mortality rates. Both Alpha and Omega couples had the healthiest children, often having twins. They were encouraged by society to have large families or to put them up for adoption if they didn't wish or had the resources to raise them. Omega Heats became regularly consummated with no-strings-attached for relief and Beta couples often applied to become surrogate or sponsor parents if they produced young.

However not everything was prosperous; pollution, miss-tested medications and a whole bunch of other factors seem to have caused a slew of different diseases, syndroms and disabilities to suddenly appear in the opposite spectrum individuals. It isn't known if they were so prevalent before or if it is because of medical improvements that they were finally discovered. But these disorders and diseases have been worrying the world as of late. Afflicting primordially the opposite spectrums of the 'natured'. The still preciously few Alphas and the all-important fertile Omegas.

About the natures in this Alternate Universe

There are more than simply 3 Nature. Medical science over the last 70 years, has detected further differences in the natures within the generic A/B/O. These were the Alpha(+), Alpha(-), Beta(+), Beta(-), Omega(Yin), Omega(Yang). While detecting natures has become a blood work and a genetic-thing, further markers and psychological tests discovered a few variants.

Alphas In-General = 7% of population

All Alphas have the following traits: They build muscle-mass easily regardless of body-type and size. Have great pheromone sensing capabilities and some measure of control on their production outside of emotional extremes. They are social individuals that surround themselves with people which they rely on for their emotional health. They are the take-charge individuals when any issue/situation occurs and revel in attention. While they can be aggressive in temperament, they can be equally self-disciplined.

Regardless of intent, all Alphas are biologically unable to resist an Omega in heat, unless they are related (in which case their smell repulses them and insights protective behaviour). Whilst in the onset of detecting the presence of an Omega in heat, they may be clear-headed for a while, but prolonged exposure diminishes their judgment to non-existence and they go through a stage called 'The Rut' – at which point they are considered impaired.

Blood-type Alpha(+) = 4 % of population

Also called Pro-Alphas (abbreviated for Productive and Proactive)

These Alphas are natural-born leaders. Responsible, auto-sufficient but also continuously. They are level-headed and mature regardless of if they have jovial or serious personalities. They are extremely loyal, diligent and hardworking with any subject or cause they may pick up, even in their relationships. They enjoy solving people's problems and getting to see results from their actions. They are social individuals that surround themselves with people which they rely on for their emotional health. In any-type of relationships they are protective, controlling and possessive.

Unique to this Nature is the single dedication to an individual or group which they become attached and loyal for the rest of their lives. Pro-Alphas are often the head of companies, state or other organization because of this instinctual state-of-mind. In relationships this translates as either a lifetime monogamous relationship or a small polygamous group with either a Pro-Alpha couple of opposite gender with a second set of other natures (usually Omegas) forming a 'Pack' of 4.

Blood-type Alpha(-) = 3% of population

Also called Ap-Alphas (abbreviated for Aptitude and Applied)

These Alphas focus on specific skill-sets and talents. Excelling in whatever they decide to pursue. They are the actors, artists, models, athletes and military personnel of the world. They become restless without physical activity or mental stimulation. They suffer depression if they do not get regular exercise. Following as often as they lead, depending on their whims, they aren't as controlling of their surroundings as Pro-alphas. While unpredictable in their relationships, if they don't find the qualities they wish in a partner they may be incessant flirts.

Unique to this nature: When a Ap-Alpha does sense/smell an 'Idealistic-partner' they instinctually pursue them; Courting, showing-off, gift giving and doing all in their power to get the individual to pay attention to them. This state is called 'The mating preen'. Regardless of the individuals' gender or nature (or ability/non-ability) to produce children, they become immune to Omega's heats thereafter. Rendered A-sexual and impotent as long as they remain in the immediate entourage of the other individual and for months or even years afterwards after loss of contact with their target of their mating-preen. Why this occurs is still a medical mystery!

Beta in General = 60% of population

(Author's notes: People tend to ignore the Beta in Omegaverse, but I wish to include them more)

All Beta have the following traits: Medium body structure and irregular muscle-mass building/loss. Extreme faint pheromone production in normal times, faint pheromone directing abilities and no control in extreme emotions on their own pheromone. All work fairly well in groups but never takes charge. They display interest in sharing knowledge and resources with each other but aren't apt at taking charge or forcing situations but are equally extroverts and Introverts within their numbers.

They react to Omegas heats at a lesser degree than Alphas. Pheromones given during heat act as a mild aphrodisiac and relaxant, as they can only faintly detect them. These biological triggers can be more readily ignored in the same way one ignores someone else listening to music. Whilst Beta cannot knot, their recovery time increases while an Omega is in heat. They may breed with any nature but have no biological instinctual imperative to form couples or relationships with them. Breeding is not always effective or assured between Beta and Omegas in Heat as they are between Alpha and Omega.

Blood-type Beta(+) = 30% of population

Also called Dire-Betas (abbreviated for Directed and Direction)

These natured individuals are the keepers of order and peace in their world and work-place environment. Whatever culture, practice and mannerisms they are raised with, they follow and cultivate throughout their lives. While they are not regular leaders, they cautiously direct resources and place their trust in individuals they deem worthy. They are extremely attentive in Politics and social situations and paying attention to extensively complex problems and offering solutions but rarely acting to correct them themselves. In very stressful situations Dire-Beta are the most level-headed of the Be

In relationships, Dire-Betas are often monogamous individuals. Statistically forming long-lasting relationships due to their stringent requirements before making commitments.

Blood type Beta(-) = 30% of population

Also called Indiv-Beta (abbreviate for Individualistic or Indivisible)

The traditional focused craftsmen. They are not leaders, rather following directions but can work well in teams and as supervisors without any important responsibilities. They rotate responsibilities and prefer remaining under the radar. They are observant individuals and make good system diagnostics, but when stressed over-long periods can suffer mental breakdown and psychologically turn into Omegas with a difficult road to recovery.

In relationships Beta(-) have no set instinctual couple patterns. However have more-or-less monogamous tendencies.

Omegas in general = 33% of population

After centuries of being repressed and treated as objects, many Omegas are shy individuals, uncertain of their status or place in society. As this is a product of culture. They vary in level of confidence where/how they are raised. Not all of them are introverts or shy but the vast majority are, as an instinctual default.

All Omegas have the following traits; Slight frame, low metabolisms and during certain periods of the year have increase fat storage. Sensitive and empathic to the pheremones and emotions of others. Lacking control on their own pheromone control and production. They become easily upset when faced or exposed to aggressive or violent behaviour. Naturally nurturing, they seeking individuals to comfort them and to extend comfort towards. Extremely protective of family and the weak, emotionally reliant on those of similar natures and their social circles. Avid followers of instructions and content in team projects. They are gullible by nature and have been taken advantage in the past/present in many cases. They can displays bouts of temporary Alpha(+) behaviour when pregnant or nurturing children when their instinctual needs arises.

All Omegas go through heats which vary in occurrence: (Uncommonly) annually, (Regularly) bi-annually & tri-mestrually or (Rarely) Quarterly.

During heats, Omega become increasingly Alpha/aggressive in behaviour; irritable, controlling and reclusive. They loose all appetite, feeling slightly nauseous 2 days prior to the heat. Their libido steadily increases and they produce unique sexual pheromones during the last stages, at which point they remain in constant state of arousal for upwards of 4 days. . Omegas do not react to other Omega heats, but become very protective of those in this state and may display border-line Alpha(+) behaviour protecting their relatives against intruders.

Omega - (yin)/female = 25% & (yang)/male = 8%

Omegas are unique natures as they have one common denominator which is the ability to go into 'Heats' and produce children. The separation of the two terms are to differentiate female Omegas and Male Omegas.

(Yin) Female Omegas

Possessing all of the nurturing stereotypical instincts of their gender but to a higher degree. They are the most attentive mothers of any nature and the most dangerous of any nature when it comes to protecting their litters. Known to fall into rages and frenzies when protecting their offspring, they have been likened to bears in this aspect. Yin Omegas are often given roles in society as caretakers of young, either as teachers of pre-school & elementary or specializing in pediatrics and nursing.

Outside of Heat, Yin Omegas have very stable characters. They are reliable and more often kind-spirited than not. They are warm-hearted individuals and have obvious motherly qualities to them in their dealings with others. Many natures enjoy their company and they are considered to be the best of mates for any family. Their bond towards their children is unwavering and through thick & thin they will support their spouse.

Heats in Yin-Omegas more often occur tri-mestrually and in the rarest of cases of quarterly, Yin Omegas are more those that go through the more regular heats. While in heat, Yin have more control over their emotions and selectiveness for a mate. They are able to become physically aggressive and repulse an Alpha violently if they wish it. On rare occasions Yin-omega have been known to injure and even be killed or kill an Alpha for an unwillingness to copulate. While Heats generally encourage mating instincts, Yin-Omega are capable of rejecting suitors. Unlike Yang-omega.

(Yang) Male Omegas

Yang Omegas are the most empathic and passively calm male in any of the natures. Often-times have hobbies or interests that are traditionally female but still able to do heavy-lifting and physical work if it interests them. Great philosophers and literary workers arise from their ranks as they are very introverted thinkers. They have the lowest statistical sexual deviance in crime as they are unable to be aggressive sexually outside of Heats.

Male Omegas are rare and considered both odd yet preciously unique in their nature. They are unanimously homosexual and very rarely straight, the instinct to nurture and bare young instinctually driving their preferences. While instinctually driven to copulate with an Omega in heat, the majority of Alphas are heterosexual. The rare homosexual individual Alpha who wishes to raise families are hard-pressed to specifically find Yang Omegas.

Yang-Omegas are unable to reject mates while in heat. They become lethargically incensed while in this state and remain in one spot. While female lubricate naturally, male Omega's create a 'slick' substance and a cervical entry dilutes open while they are in heat, blocking off their bowels which are empty for lack of appetite. Male Omegas have the ability to become pregnant, but only from Alphas who's knot forces the cervix to dilute further and less regularly by a Beta by chance. Two Omegas are incompatible breeders. Of any nature combination, it is the most socially tabooed' coupling. Males still possess their protruding sexual organs and can impregnate others natures, but it is awkward for them to do so against their genetic instincts. In the case of a female Alpha/Beta present during a heat, Omega males become frantic to assuage their heat in any way. Copulation with a female is not as rewarding as being impregnated by either Alpha or Beta, but offers relief none-the-less.
