A train to heaven backwards bound

An oath broken on mutual ground

I now scream without a sound

And my tears flow in red

A simple lie out of control

All witnessed by the black-eyed doll

I'm trapped down in a long dark hole

And my tears flow in red

Stuck in pseudo-paradise

Ignoring all my friends' advice

I saw the evil rats as mice

And my tears flow in red

Falling for positive stimuli

Too good to be true is always a lie

I sit in the wet and the dark and I cry

And my tears flow in red

"You can stay here forever," she said

Her too-pale hands clutched needle and thread

I smiled, agreed, and tilted my head

And my tears flow in red

So here is the message that I'm telling you:

Believe not her lies, for they are not true

And if you are caught, then you will too

Have tears that flow in red

I posted this before but the spacing screwed up and I took it down. Here's the proper version.

Note: to anyone who might personally know me, this poem was not inspired by anyone or anything that has happened recently! This was just a metaphor I've been kind of thinking about for awhile!
