"I don't understand why we didn't just walk, Logan." Louise impatiently asked.

"Babe, you know I wanted to test out my new wheels." He gestured at the dash of his new car with a smirk plastered on his face. Louise annoyingly looked out the window. The car was an all black with silver accents and trim – a 2011 sport with turbo power. Normally she would be thrilled that he was in a stable enough job to be able to afford such a nice car, but not right now.

She sighed loudly. "It's just around the block! We're going to get there way before mom, dad, Tina and Jimmy." He glanced at her starting to respond when she cut him off, "AND we'll have to be stuck with those crazy Pesto kids!" Andy and Ollie and Louise had been stuck in the same grade for the past years of her time at school and she could hardly stand them anymore. Good thing she'd be graduating this year. Also, she'd be so happy to finally be joining Logan at the local community college. He had been held back a year and was going to be starting his senior year in the fall, while she started her freshman year.

"Whatever stop whining. We're here."

"You can be such an ass sometimes" she growled, stepping out of the low-bedded car.

Their relationship had taken some unexpected turns in the past few years that they have been together. They started off hating each other, then moved to being friends, started dating, and moved back to close friends. He wanted to stay boyfriend and girlfriend, maybe even more than that, but she wasn't very keen on it – so they went back to being friends. This made him kind of sour towards her, considering he had planned on proposing to her a mere week before she friend-zoned him. He seriously considered just taking her out of his life permanently, but couldn't make himself take such a big step as that.

He just looked in her direction and shrugged. She was already on her way inside the building and paid him no attention. It was a gloomy and rainy day, but she still took her time walking in. The rain never really bothered Louise; she actually preferred it to the sun.

Pesto's Skate-O-Rama, the sign over the front door in giant pink font boldly stated.

After she having divorced Jimmy Sr. in 2006, Diane Pesto had moved on with her life long dream of owning a skating arena in Wildwood. Jimmy had held her back when they were married, putting his dreams ahead of hers. Andy and Ollie had gotten jobs there when they were 16 a few years back. They had obviously grown up a lot, but still had their crazy habits and lingo. Unlike Jimmy Sr., Diane has nothing against the Belchers – in fact she was thrilled when Jimmy Jr. had asked Tina to be his girlfriend back during their sophomore year of high school.

Quickening his pace, Logan started following behind his… girlfriend? Best friend? Friend…? He wasn't even really sure at this point.

The smell of freshly cleaned wooden floors and greasy fast food was really strong as he opened the front door. Louise stood there tapping her foot and staring at Logan with one annoyed eyebrow raised. Before he could get close enough to her to talk, the Pesto twins ran up to Louise.

"Lou Lou!" they both yelled once they got up to her – so close that she had to take a step back just to compose herself.

"Oh my god, you guys…" she mumbled to herself giving Logan a desperate look.
