Gift of the Force. Chapter – 5: A Light Pierces The Dark.

System:Tython System.

Planet: Tython.

Location: Jedi Temple.

Time: 20,BBY. Present Day.

Three standard days had passed since Luke and Revan had repaired the Star Forge. It had taken Luke most of them to recover, the Force Powers he had used in repairing and purifying the Star Forge had truly taxed him. He needed to be more cautious in the future, it would not do well if he burned himself out.

Still he could not argue with the results, they now had a piece of technology that would help the Order and the Rebel Alliance greatly in the war to come. Even better the Star Forge would no doubt play a key role in helping the New Republic when the Vong invaded. As it were, our two heroes were preparing to head out on two missions. Luke was going to take a Shuttle craft to the Great Jedi Library on Ossus, to salvage what he could there. He also was hoping to change the fate of a few people in the process.

Revan on the other hand, was going to take the Shadow-Hawk to the planet of Manaan in the Pyrshak system. His reasons for wanting to go there, was to investigate why Kolto had become so weak. According to him, Kolto had been the preferred healing agent during his time. Having been even better then Bacta. Revan had a theory on why the Kolto had weakened, something about the self repairing technology of the Rakata. Luke didn't really understand most of it. But if it would help with the wars to come, than he was more the willing to go along with it.

While they were on their respective missions, HK(Who unnerved Luke more then a little) would be in charge of the construction droids they had had the Star Forge create,. The plan was to have them add on the the Temple, as well as construct a few other buildings. One of which, was going to serve as the headquarters of the Rebel Alliance.

He was also in charge of the Patrol Droids that would be keeping the Flesh Raiders at Bay. The Flesh Raiders had started to become curious as to all the activity going on around the Temple. Luckily their fear of the "Cursed Place" had kept them away for the most part. But there was no telling how long that would last.

Luke was rather pleased as how things were stacking up so far, everything seemed to be falling into place and they had yet to run into any serious trouble. But what Luke didn't know, was that when he and Revan had purified the Star Forge. They had set off a chain reaction that would have far reaching consequences for years to come.

System: Coruscant System.

Planet: Coruscant.

Location: Supreme Chancellor's Office, Senate Building.

Time: 20,BBY. Three Days Earlier.

Supreme Chancellor Palpatine sat in his office. To the Galaxy at large, Palpatine seemed a kind grandfatherly man, who's only fault was caring to much for the welfare of the people he served. But that was far from who he really was. Known to very few, he went by a different name, a darker name, Sidious the Dark Lord of the Sith! For years he trained under his brutal master, Darth Plagueis.

He remembered well his old masters training methods, summed up best in the words Plagueis had once spoke to him."Tell me what you regard as your greatest strength, so I will know how best to undermine you; tell me of your greatest fear, so I will know which I must force you to face; tell me what you cherish most, so I will know what to take from you; and tell me what you crave, so that I might deny you."

Yes, his training at the hands of Plagueis had been harsh, but Sidious couldn't deny the results. By the time he murdered his master, he was the embodiment of the Dark Side! Something else his old master had once said to him floated through his mind."You have the Force, apprentice, and the talent to lead. More, you have the bloodlust of a serial killer, though we need to hold that in reserve unless violence serves some extraordinary purpose. We are not butchers, Sidious, like some past Sith Lords. We are architects of the future."

'We are architects of the future.' His master had said, but he didn't know how both right and wrong he really was! Right, because the plan he had long ago created was coming into fruition. And wrong, because there was no 'we' only 'HIM!' He would be the one to rule the Galaxy! The Shroud of the Dark Side had fallen blinding the Jedi, so they knew not the fate that awaited them. The war was decreasing their numbers, and soon he would have the finial piece, Anakin Skywalker!

Sidious had foreseen his fall, he would have the ultimate apprentice, the Chosen One! The boy prophesied to save the Jedi, would be their doom! He just had to let the war drag on a little longer, feed Anakin's fear and anger a little more. Soon the Galaxy would be his, just as he had foreseen!

Suddenly Sidious sat bolt upright in his chair, as he felt a powerful force of pure light brake through the Shroud of the Dark Side. He couldn't tell it's origins, but whoever was behind it was as powerful as Anakin! A being as powerful as the Chosen One could not be allowed to live uncontrolled! He would have to find the source of this light and extinguish it! He would alert all his Dark Acolytes, they would hunt down this light.

Closing his eyes Sidious opened himself to the flow of the Dark Side, hoping to find the source of the disturbance. What he saw shocked him to the core! Sidious who was quite possibly the most powerful Sith to have ever existed, was a master of many arcane arts and powers. But if there was one that he prided himself on the most, it was his gift of Foresight. In many ways it was even better than that infuriating Master Yoda's. So much so, that the Future had always been open to him.

But where as before when he would gaze into the Future and see himself as the Galactic Emperor, now all he saw was a mess of blurry confusing images. The only thing he could make out was Anakin striking him down, onboard some ship. No, NO! His carefully constructed plan was unraveling! There was only one thing he knew to do, he would have to prepare his back up plan. Just encase Anakin did turn against him!

Standing up from his chair, Palpatine placed a holo-call to his Senior Administrative Aide, Sly Moore. She also happened to be one of his Dark Side Acolytes. Not knowing who might be in her office he addressed her formally "Ms. Moore, I need you to cancel all my appointments for the next two weeks and prepare my ship for me. If anyone asks I've gone on a retreat due to high stress."

"As you wish Chancellor Palpatine." Said the Umbaran Woman to her Master. With the call ended, Sidious left to prepare for his trip. It was time he paid a visit to Dromund Kaas.

Meanwhile as Darth Sidious was having his vision, someone in the Jedi temple was have one their own.

Jedi Grand Master Yoda had been in his quarters meditating, when he too had felt a pure light pierce the darkness that had surrounded them for so long now. For the first time since the onset of the Clone Wars, the esteemed Jedi Master received a clear vision of the future. What he saw chilled him to the bones.

He saw young Skywalker and some unknown Jedi in armor, surrounded by lava and and fire. There was someone else there in a dark cloak and armor, but he couldn't make out his features.

"We'll do it together." He heard the armored Jedi say as he ignited a silver lightsaber, Skywalker likewise ignited his as they turned to face the one in the dark cloak. The last thing he saw before the vision changed was the being in the black cloak ignite a blood red lightsaber.

The next thing he saw was Senator Padme Amidala, she was in some kind of medical lab. She was in pain and calling for someone, though he could not make out her words. Just as quickly as it had come the vision ended, leaving behind a very confused and worried Jedi Master.

"Very troubling, the future has become." Said the ancient Master to himself. "Find the Armored Jedi, we must."

System: Pyrshak System.

Planet: Manaan.

Location: Shadow-Hawk, in route to Ahto City Space Port. Eta 5 Minuets.

Time: 20,BBY. Present day.

Manaan, how long has it been since he had been here? Three thousand years? It seemed like just yesterday when he had came here with Bastila, Jolee and the rest of his friends. His friends, how he missed them. Gazing out the view port, he was struck by the beauty of Ahto City. It's beauty was so, that it could almost hide it's sad history.

For this Ahto City, was not the city he had come to on the Ebon Hawk. Though the exact same in design, the Ahto City he had been to in his past. Had been destroyed by the True Sith in the Great Galactic War. Apparently they had not been as lenient about Manaan's neutrality as his or Malak's Sith had been.

He had learned through Luke and the Holonet that the City had later been rebuilt and the sell of Kolto resumed, at least until production, naturally, declined and prices, soared as a result. Customers began to flock to the competition, Bacta. Offworlders abandoned Manaan causing the planet's economy to crash, and the Selkath to returned to their underwater cities. During this period of isolation, the Selkath became primitive, with young Selkath warlords destabilizing the government and social order of Manaan. Ahto City was left empty.

During Luke's time, the Selkath had continued their primitive behaviors to the point that the mere sight of two Star Destroyers in orbit was enough to convince the Selkath to surrender Manaan to the Imperials. Using orbital depth charges to destroy the underwater cities of the Selkath, the Empire drove the Selkath to Ahto City, where they were enslaved by the Empire. Ahto City, however, was utilized by the Empire, who then constructed a large base and the Ahto Luxury Resorts. Rich humans inhabited the resorts, using Selkath slaves as servants.

Revan would not let that happen this time. If he was right about what was causing the Kolto to become weaker and less plentiful, then he might be able to fix it. With the Kolto back to its original healing strength, Manaan would become an asset the upcoming Rebellion would want to protect. Therefore the Selkath would not have to worry about enslavement.

With these thoughts in his head, he maneuvered the Shadow-Hawk into the space port. After exiting the Shadow-Hawk, Revan made his way out of the Hanger Bay. Walking through the corridors of the abandoned city, he came across something that made him pause, it was a maintenance droid. That in and of itself was not what was strange, it was that the droid seemed fairly new.

Taking a closer look at his surroundings, he had to admit that Ahto City seemed in really good shape for having been abandoned for over a thousand years. Opening himself to the Force, Revan could not sense any sentient live in the city. But he felt certain that someone had at least been here, the question was who? He continued walking for about thirty more minutes, until he found his answer, in a big sign over a doorway that read.

Czerka Arms

"Anytime, anywhere… we're there."

'Three thousand years, and these guys are still around?' Thought Revan to himself. 'Anytime, anywhere is right!'

Walking through the doorway. Revan found the place just as abandoned as the rest of Ahto City, and from the looks of things, they had left in a hurry. The place was littered with papers, crates, and datapads. Investigating the crates, and datapads, he found that Czerka was here testing illegal underwater munitions.

'That should figure! Not only is Czerka still around, they're still shady!' Thought Revan with a shake of his head. 'But I wonder... What could have ran them off in such a hurry, that they would leave all this incriminating evidence behind?'

Walking through Czerka's compound he came across something that made him stop and thank the Force. A Submersible Bay, with what appeared to be a working Submersible. Quickly checking it out, he found that it was indeed working. Revan let out a breath he had been holding, he had thought he was going to have to put on an enviro-suit and float down to the Hrakert Rift. Which not only would have been dangerous with all the firaxan sharks that liked to hang around the area, but time consuming too.

This would make things much easier. He took a moment to put on the body and boots of the enviro-suit, that way if he had to exit the submersible all he would have to put on would be the helmet and gloves. Getting in the submersible, he started his journey to the Hrakert Rift. It was when he was almost to his destination, that he saw something he thought would no longer be there.

"Hrakert Station!" He whispered to himself. 'How is it still here? It should have decayed long ago, without anyone there to keep it up.'

As much as he wanted to do what he came for, so he could leave. Something told him to investigate why the station still seemed in good shape after three thousand years. Revan maneuvered the submersible into the submersible bay of the station, thankful the place wasn't flooded and that there still seemed to be breathable oxygen. Exiting the Sub, Revan quickly stripped off the enviro-suit. Just encase he needed to defend himself, he didn't need it restricting his mobility or any of his Force abilities.

Revan began walking into the corridor that lead to the main area of the station. He couldn't sense any lifeforms in the station, but stayed alert none the less. After all, his last visit here had not been a pleasant one. Suddenly the crazed words of a solder who locked himself in a locker, ran through his mind. 'No fishy food for me. Bye-bye. Go look for fishy people. They'll chomp and bite and chomp and bite. Food for fishy - that's you.'

Right as he walk through the pressurized doors into the station's main corridor, his danger sense told him to DUCK! Which is exactly what he did. No sooner had he done so, than a curved sword swung through the area that had once been occupied by his neck. Revan rolled, grabbing his lightsaber as he did so. Springing back to his feet, he ignited his saber just in time to block an overhead strike.

Taking a fraction of a second to see who he was fighting, he saw it was a Selkath, but how had he not sensed him?

'Quey'tek Meditation!' Thought Revan with a jolt. 'That means whoever this is, he's a trained Force user!'

In the time it had taken him to suss this out, he had, had to block four more strikes. What was more, was that the sword he was using was lightsaber resistant! It should have melted clean through on the first strike, but it didn't! With the being using Quey'tek Meditation he couldn't tell if he was lightside or darkside. He would have to try to speak to him, he only hoped this Selkath spoke basic. While he could speak Selkatha, it was difficult.

"Please, I mean you no harm!" Stated Revan in a hurry, as he blocked another strike. "I just wish to talk."

The Selkath warrior paused, but Revan noticed that he did not lower his sword. Finally it spoke two words in Selkatha. "So talk."

Taking it as a good sign that the Selkath had not attacked again, Revan deactivated his lightsaber, but kept it in his hand. The Selkath likewise lowered his sword, but did not put it away.

"I am a Jedi on a mission of peace, to try to restore the Kolto back to it's original strength." Said Revan, opening himself to the Force, so this being would know he spoke the truth.

"So you are not with the ones who had been setting off the bombs?" Asked the Selkath. "We ran them off, they were disturbing our peace!"

'Well that explains what had happened to Czerka.' Thought Revan. "No, I'm only here to fix the Kolto."

"Good luck with that! Many have tried, including several of our order, and none have seceded." Stated the Selkath, doubtfully. But at least he seemed to believe that Revan meant him no harm, seeing as he put his sword back in it's sheath. Revan copied the move, and clipped his lightsaber back on his belt.

"Order?" Revan asked. "What Order, and might I have your name?"

"I am Qual'tac, Head of the Order of Shasa, protectors of Manaan. And you are currently trespassing on our Headquarters, Offworlder." Stated the Selkath, Qual'tac.

That name, Shasa, Revan knew he had heard it before. Suddenly it hit him, SHASA! "I knew your fonder!"

Qual'tac gave Revan an odd look, after his outburst. "That is impossible, she lived over-"

"3,936 standered years ago." Interrupted Revan. "You may not believe me, but I'm way older then I look. I was put in a form of stasis, and was only awoken recently. It was I who rescued Shasa from the Sith, who were going to use her and her friends to create a puppet government."

Qual'tac listened as the Offworlder spoke of things that he shouldn't, that he couldn't know, unless he had been there. That added to the fact his Force Senses told him that the human was speaking the truth, made Qual'tac start to believe him. But there was still one more test to make sure. The great founder Shasa had passed down the story of her rescue from the Sith, as a warning not to trust them. Many years after her rescue, she had discovered the name of the one who rescued her.

"What is your name, Offworlder?" Asked Qual'tac.

Revan decided to answer honestly, as he doubted that Qual'tac would be easily deceived. "The name I was most known by, was Revan."

"I believe you, Master Revan." Said Qual'tac, with a bow. "The story of Shasa's rescue is a closely guarded secret of the Order. There is noway you could have known it without having been there."

"I thank you for your trust, Master Qual'tac." Said Revan, bowing back.

"Please, you are an honored friend of the Order. If you have need of us on your mission, you have but to ask." Said Qual'tac as he beckoned Revan to follow him.

"How many of you are there, in the Order?" Asked Revan, as he followed slightly behind the Selkath Force Adept.

"The Order has around two hundred members, all of them devoted to the welfare of Manaan and the Selkath people." Said Qual'tac with a hint of pride. "Most of the Order is out on missions keeping the peace, sadly Manaan has not fared well since the collapse of the Kolto trade. If you do know of a way to fix it, we would be eternally in your debt."

'Two hundred members? How had they gotten so large?' Revan wondered. "Are you the only one here?"

"No, there are about forty of us currently in the headquarters. When we felt your presence we applied Force Stealth, till we could ascertain whether or not you meant us harm." Answered Qual'tac. "If you don't mind me asking, how do you plan to fix the Kolto?"

Revan had to think for a second on how to answer, finally he said. "I believe a device I found back in my original time, a device that was placed here long before the founding of the Republic, is the key."

Qual'tac gave Revan a look, as they walked in to a large room that reminded him somewhat of the Jedi High Counsel room. "What kind of device?"

"You may have seen it, it's not far from here. It's a self-repairing piece of Force Technology, a star map to be more precise." Said Revan.

"I have seen it, though I knew not what it was. You believe this star map, to be the source of Kolto?" Asked Qual'tac.

"It's not as strange as it sounds." Said Revan. "The Race that put the star map here are called, the Rakatans. They placed these Star Maps on worlds they conquered, before the fall of their Empire. Almost all of their technology was Force based, and tended to have strange effects on their surroundings when damaged."

"How so?" Qual'tac asked, as he took a seat. Motioning for Revan to do so as well.

Revan did so, as he began to explain. "Well like causing things to grow passed there normal size, like the tress of Kashyyyk. Though admittedly, that was a terraforming computer. But I've personally seen these Star Maps effect the wild life that live around it for long periods of time, such as your Progenitor."

Qual'tac sat straight up in his seat. "You've seen the Progenitor?!"

"Ay, I've seen her, and she is quite huge." Said Revan with a smile.

"Please, tell me your story." Said Qual'tac, eagerly. And so Revan did.

After what seemed like hours, Revan finished his tale. Qual'tac sat quietly for a long moment before he spoke. "Amazing! Truly Amazing. You have seen and done much, and it would seem that we are already in your debt. You could have killed the Progenitor but chose not to, that along with saving Shasa. The Selkath people owe you much, as does most of the Galaxy judging from your tale."

"Your friendship is all I ask." Said Revan with a slight bow of his head.

Qual'tac returned the bow. "You already have it. So, how can the Order of Shasa be of assistance to you and your companion in your fight against the Sith?"

Revan noted how he spit out the word Sith like it was a curse. "You can help me, by doing what you've been doing. Helping the Selkath, and protecting Manaan. If my plan works and should war break out, I may need you and your Order to help convince your government to help the Rebellion. I'm not asking anyone to fight of course, just to not sell Kolto to the Republic, or Empire as it will then be known. In return, I will see to it that the Rebellion send a fleet of ships to protect Manaan from invasion."

"I'm sure something can be worked out." Said Qual'tac. "My people have not forgotten that the Sith once bombarded our planet."

"Than let us do, what I came here to do." Said Revan, as he stood.

"Yes, I am rather hopeful that your plan works. It would mean a far better future for Manaan." Said Qual'tac, as he likewise stood.

It didn't take very long for Revan to re-don his enviro-suit and all to soon, he was standing before the Star Map. Using the Force, Revan activated the Map. Causing Qual'tac to move back in shock. Just as Revan thought it would be, the Star Map was almost fully complete. Meaning that it was almost fully repaired.

He had to be careful with what he did next. After all, he wanted to damage the Star Map, not destroy it. Targeting key components of the Map, Revan reached out with the Force, crushing them. Instantly Revan and Qual'tac felt the area become bathed in Force energy, as the Map sought to repair the damage done to it. To make sure the Map did not repair itself to quickly, Revan reached out with the Force again dealing even greater damage to it.

Hopefully it would take the Force Machine a least 10 or so thousand years to repair itself again, if not. Well at least the Order of Shasa would know what to do. With that done, all that was left was to wait and see if it would work.

Revan would spend the next two weeks on Manaan, getting to know the Order of Shasa and quite a few of it members, In between checking the Kolto. Revan learned that the Orders knowledge of the Force was limited due to their isolation, but what they lacked in knowledge, they made up for in inventiveness and creativity. Such as a power they called waveform. Inspired by the oceans, waveform techniques allowed Order devotees to enhance telekinetic abilities by manipulating the natural wave patterns in nature and the particles of the surrounding environment.

Or another power they called The Progenitor's Call. The Progenitor's Call allowed an Order of Shasa devotee to sense and channel the overwhelming call of the Progenitor, confusing and distracting the mind of a target, and disrupting opponents' actions. The Call echoed in the mind afterward, and this persistent condition took as much as eight hours to wear off.

Still when he was not checking the Kolto, he would take time to teach them a technique. Or teach them some aspect of the Force, that they didn't know about. Finally on day six of his stay, he noticed a marked improvement in the potency of the Kolto. By day ten, it was almost as good a Bacta. The Oder of Shasa was beyond ecstatic, and told Revan that he would always be welcome among them.

They promised to keep watch on the Kolto in the coming months and report back to him the changes, they also would begin scouting out trustworthy leaders in their government. So the Kolto would be ready to ship as soon as he needed it. With his mission complete Revan prepared to head back to Tython, he couldn't help but wonder how Luke's mission went. He couldn't wait to find out. What he didn't count on was that Luke had never had that great of luck.

System: Adega System.

Planet: Ossus.

Location: Ruins of Knossa.

Time: 20, BBY.

Luke let out a sad sigh, as he looked around at the ruins of the Jedi City of Knossa. How he would have loved to have seen it, before it had been destroyed. For a split second he considered Flow Walking, but though better of it. The city had been destroyed along with most of the planet, during the war with Exar Kun, when Ossus was hit with the shock wave of a solar flare.

'Still.' Luke thought. 'It must have been a truly beautiful city.'

Luke wondered what it would take to build a city like it on Tython. After all, the Jedi Service Corp would need a place to stay. Not to mention the families of all those who would fight for the Rebellion. Of course Luke knew of another Jedi city, one that had been lost to the pages of time. A city that he may have to visit here soon, it wouldn't do to have the knowledge there fall into the wrong hands.

Backing the speeder bike that he brought out of the shuttle, Luke pondered his next step. While it was true, he could go straight to the Library. He knew he shouldn't, first he needed to introduce himself to the tribe of Ysanna that guarded it. He tried not to think of the first time he had meet them, or more specific, he tried not to think of one certain Ysanna, Jem. Luke had promised her and her brother Rayf that they would become Jedi. It was not to be however, they had both died before truly gaining the title.

But not before Luke and Jem had fallen in love. Even after all this time, Luke still wondered if that was the true reason Jem had died. Was she just another victim of Luke's cursed love life? Like Mary, killed by the empire on Solay. Or Callista, striped of the Force and then later killed by Abeloth. And last but not least, his beautiful wife Mara, killed by his own nephew turned Sith. Till this day, Jacen's betrayal hurt deeper then all the other tragedies of his life.

Shaking off these thoughts, Luke started on his way. He knew roughly where the tribe was, but didn't think it would be a good idea for him to just ride into their village. No, he would have to let them see him. Hopefully this time they wouldn't attack, he should have known better than to hope.

It wasn't to much longer until he neared the entrance into the once great Library. What was once a beautifully designed building, of thick stone walls and four domed towers. Could now scarcely be discerned from the surrounding landscape. But it matter not, Luke still remembered the wealth of knowledge that they had found in the Library. It had mostly been what he found inside the Library, that had filled in a lot of the gaps left by his lack of formal training. Of course a lot of the knowledge he had found was ancient, from even before Revan.

Which is why Luke's Jedi order was model more after the Jedi of the Old Republic, as opposed to the Jedi of this time. Luke had not learned of the Ruusan Reformation until decades later, of course by then it had been too late. A lot of the Jedi Masters including he himself, had already had families. He did of course fix what he could, such as reestablishing the Jedi High counsel. Reinstating the one Master one Apprentice rule, as well as a few other things.

But the rule of attachment, he had left out. In all honesty, he saw no need for it. Sure, attachment could lead you to the darkside. But it could also keep you from it, and he had seen both extremes. But saw more of the later, he couldn't count how many time it was the love of a husband, wife, or child. That kept one of his Jedi from falling, including himself.

Perhaps it wasn't attachment that the Jedi should guard against, but rather passion and obsession. Those two, especially together were an almost sure way to fall to the Dark Side. Another way his Order had differed from the one that currently existed was the Jedi Service Corps. While in this time the bulk of the Jedi Order were part of the Service Corps, particularly the AgriCorps. Which if his information was to be believed housed upward to 1,500 Jedi.

He had decided not to rebuild the Jedi Service Corps in his time, seeing it as a waste of man power. Instead he just blended the Service Corps philosophies with that of the main Order. This way all Students were made to feel useful and wanted. Luke could not bring himself to agree with sending Younglings who failed to find a Master or Padawan's who failed their trials, to a lower branch of the Order. It just seemed wrong to him. After all he himself had failed his trials the first time around.

Luke looked at the ruins of the Library, no one seemed to be around, but that didn't mean much. It was at this time that Luke made his first mistake of the day, he opened himself to the Force to see if he could sense any nearby life signs. Something he might not have done, if he knew there were people searching the galaxy for him. In a near by system, a being changed course heading straight for Ossus.

Luke hopped off his speeder bike, he had felt a few near by lights in the Force. Hoping he did not seem threatening, he headed in their direction. Luke's Danger Sense suddenly warned him of incoming projectiles.

'So much for not being attacked!' Luke thought to himself. At least the primitive slug throwers of the Ysanna were easily blocked if you were a Force User. Luke threw up his hands and stopped the slugs in mid air.

"I am Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, I mean you no harm!" Said Luke in the Ysanna language, while projecting his voice through the Force. Thankfully the firing stopped, a few minutes later, two humanoid figures emerged from the surrounding landscape. One was in about his mid forties and had a long beard, and the other seemed to be in his early twenties with dark hair.

Something about the younger one seemed familiar to Luke, but he put it aside for right now. The two kept there slug throwers at the ready, but otherwise didn't seem hostile. In fact the younger one was looking at Luke with something akin to awe.

"Are you really a Jedi?" Asked the younger one. Yep, defiantly awe, Luke concluded.

"Forgive my son, stories of the Great Jedi have been passed down in our people for thousands of years. I am Okku, Chief of my tribe and head Shaman. This is my son and heir, Okko. My family has been guarding the Great Library, since my father rediscovered it." Said the older man.

Now Luke realized why the younger one seemed familiar to him. He was the father of Jem and Rayf! Or at least he will be. While Luke was having this revelation, Okku continued to speak."I can feel the great power in you, but I must still ask. Can you prove you are indeed a Jedi?"

"Yes, if that is your wish, I can indeed." Said Luke, he knew from his first time. That the Ysanna, while decadents of Jedi who had survived the great destruction of the Super Nova. Had lost knowledge of all but the most basic Force techniques. Luke first showed them his lightsaber, making them take a step back when he ignited it's sliver blade. Then he went on to demonstrate a few Force abilities such as Fold Space, Force Jump, Force Speed, and Telekinesis.

By the end of his demonstration the two Ysanna males were looking at Luke wide eyed. "Have I proved myself?"

"Indeed you have, Master Jedi!" Exclaimed Okku. "Come, we must introduce you to the tribe! After thousands of years the Jedi have returned, there will be celebrations for sure. Come! You will be our honored guest!"

The excitement of the old chief, was contagious and Luke could not keep the smile off his face. As he was led to the village of the Ysanna, they passed by an ancient looking tree. Luke gave a slight smile to the tree, as he knew what, or rather who the sleeping tree really was. He would have to come back to the tree sometime soon, but it might take a while as it was sacred to the Ysanna. But of course they didn't know what Luke knew.

As it turned out, Okku had been right. There were celebrations, the Ysanna held a three day festival in his honor. It was during this time that Luke planted the seeds of trust that he hoped would grow into a strong friendship with the future Order. The Ysanna were the descendents of Jedi, and therefore most were strong in the Force. But it was wild, and untrained.

Luke seemed to really be a hit, with the children of the Ysanna. Who would smile and laugh every time Luke would do something with the Force. In fact it had become a common sight in those three days, to see Luke surrounded by children and toddlers laughing and squealing as he levitated them. Much like he used to do with his niece and nephews and later his own son, Ben.

Luke had to shake off the sad feelings those thoughts brought him. If he was successful in his mission in this time, than Ben would have a much better life. It was that thought more than anything that allowed him to keep going.

It was on the fourth day, that Luke broached the question of the Library. Okku, informed Luke that they would be heading in that direction the next day, as Okku's son Okko was due to take the ritual of ascent. And would be happy to take him to the Library, but Okku could not enter it himself as it was forbidden to all but the Jedi to enter.

Luke knew what the ritual of ascent was, as the first time he came here. He had interrupted Jem and Rayf's ritual. The Ritual of Ascent was a ritual where a Ysanna who showed signs of Ysanna magic(The Force) would be tide to the ancient tree. Which the Ysanna thought was a source of Power, in the hopes of imbuing the Ysanna with the power. Any who sought to become a Shaman of the Tribe was required to do the Ritual.

Luke made a mental note to explain the Force to them in greater detail. But it would have to wait, tomorrow was going to be a big day. If only he knew then, just how big of a day it was really going to be. Luke woke early the next morning and traveled with the group that was to observe Okko taking the Ritual of Ascent. Little did he know, that as he was traveling to the Tree, two ships were landing on the planet not too far away.

Luke stood among the Ysanna Warriors and and Shamans as Okko was bound to the Tree, where he would stay bound until he received a vision.

"You honor Okko, by being here, Master Jedi." Said Okku, as he looked on proudly at his son. "Years from now, when Okko leads the tribe. The tribesmen will know that a Jedi oversaw Okko's Rite. This will bring him great respect, not just from our tribe, but from the others as well."

"It is my honor to bear witness, to Okko's rite of passage." Said Luke to the Chief. Suddenly Luke felt a disturbance in the Force. Judging by the look on Okku's and a few of the others faces, he wasn't the only one.

"The Village!" Said Okku, in horror.

Luke nodded in agreement. "Something is defiantly wrong, we should head back!"

"Yes, quickly!" Said Okku, as he began issuing orders to the assembled tribesmen. Less then a moment later, they were making their way back toward the village post haste.

"What about Okko, shouldn't we cut him free?" Asked Luke, as they were running.

"No, the ritual must not be interrupted!" Said Okku. Luke was really wishing he had explained to them about the tree. As they neared the Village, Luke began to hear a sound that sent shivers up his spine, Blaster fire!

As they crested a hill that overlooked the village, Luke's blood ran cold. Many of the homes were being burned down. The women and children were being rounded up, and the warriors that remained behind were being slaughtered! It was all being done by a race of humanoid reptilians that Luke recognized, Nikto! But what were they doing attacking here? This couldn't be just a coincidence, No, somehow his being here had caused this.

Long ago, Luke had heard legends of a sect of Nikto who had specialized in hunting Force Sensitives, the Morgukai. But he had thought they were extinct, if indeed these were Morgukai. Then direct confrontation would be a very bad idea, they would need to be careful. Luke had to stop Okku and the others from rushing into the battle.

"What is the meaning of this, Jedi?!" Snarled Okku. "My village is being slaughtered!"

Luke noted the lack of the honorific Master when Okku spoke to him, but pressed on any way. "If you and your men go down there, you all, will be Slaughtered as well."

"You purpose we do nothing?!" Asked Okku angrily, Luke saw the other warriors looking just as angry.

"No, I purpose we fight. But we fight on our terms, not theirs!" Said Luke, trying to convey that he wasn't being a coward. "If we go down there now, we'll accomplish nothing but our own deaths! Then who would help your village?! No, we must be smart about this."

"So what do we do?!" Asked one of the warriors. Luke looked closely at the terrain surrounding the village. He noticed something that gave him an idea.

"Okku, are you and your men familiar with the concepts of both an ambush and crossfires?" He asked the Chief.

"Of course!" Said Okku sounding slightly insulted.

"Good, here is what we'll do." Said Luke as he outlined his idea to them.

"Are you sure it will work?" Asked Okku, sounding unsure.

"I'm sure it's our best chance to minimize casualties." Side Luke.

"Alright, we'll do it. I pray you are right." Said Okku. With that, the group split into three groups.

Luke's plan was simple, but hopefully no less effective. Okku would lead two of the groups to two adjacent hills, that had a narrow valley running between them. Once they were in position Luke would use a Force Illusion to lure the bulk of the invaders into the valley. Where Okku and his men would be waiting to cut them down in a hail of Slugs.

While they were doing that, Luke would run into the village to take care of any left behind. Four warriors would remain on the hill overlooking the village, and provide Luke with covering fire. Now normally Luke would be nervous at having anyone giving him covering fire from such a distance, as they were as likely to hit him as the enemy. But he didn't have to worry about that with the Ysanna, for they had one unique ability that would prevent that from happening.

The Ysanna were unequaled Marksman when it came to slug throwers, because they could use their 'Magic' to guide the slugs to the target. Even going so far as to curve a slug around an obstacle to hit their target. It wasn't too much longer, Luke received the signal from Okku, telling him that he and his men were ready.

Luke focused his force abilities in to creating an illusion so strong not even a fully trained Force User would be able to see through it. Something he had once done to his nephew Jacen, after he fell to the dark side becoming Darth Caedus. Luke remembered making the self proclaimed Dark Lord, see a whole fleet of ships surrounding him. But that had been when he still held out hope for Jacen's redemption.

This illusion however, wasn't a fleet of ships. This illusion showed Okku and his men coming back from the Ritual, seemingly being caught off guard by the attack and fleeing in terror. Anyone who knew a Ysanna warrior would know, that they would never flee an attack. But Luke was counting on the enemy not having had any real experience with the Ysanna.

Sure enough the Nikto warriors bought the illusion as real, as the bulk of there force chased the ghostly apparitions. In no time at all Luke heard the distinctive thunder like sounds of the Ysanna Slug Throwers. Which was Luke's signal to begin his attack.

Luke ignited his silver lightsaber, and got to work. Using a combination of Force Speed and Fold Space, the invaders never knew what hit them. Luke would appear before one of the invaders cut them down and appear behind another before the pieces of the first finished hitting the ground. Luke's control of the Fold Space Technique was getting better, and it help that he wasn't traveling any great distance. But the multiple uses of it were still starting to wear him down.

Luckily, he wasn't the only one taking down the invading force. The group of Ysanna marksmen that Luke had left on the hill, were steadily dropping any enemy they could lay sights on. Plus, it would seem that Luke's arrival had emboldened any Ysanna warriors that were left alive in the village. Even the none critically injured were fighting back with a renewed ferocity.

It wasn't long until Okku and his men, having finished their part of the plan. Joined Luke in defeating the remaining forces. In no time at all, the remaining Nikto warriors had been dealt with. With a wave of his hand, Luke snuffed out the fires that threatened to consume the village. The battle was over, but it had been costly. Over twenty warriors and shamans had perished in the fighting, and twice that number had been injured, some quite grievously.

If there was a bright side to this sad day, it would be that no children or none combatants were lost. The Nikto had been rounding them up, but did not kill them. Most likely to sell them as slaves. Luke could only shake his head, at the utter senselessness of it all. These were good people! What had they ever done to deserve this?! He was reminded sickeningly of when Admiral Natasi Daala, had destroyed a whole defenseless colony on Dantooine. Just to get revenge on him and the New Republic.

What Luke failed to realize is that his day was about to get a whole lot worse. Luke suddenly felt something in the Force, that made him freeze for a moment before he took of running in the direction of Okko and the ancient tree. Seeing the Jedi Master take off in a burst of Force Speed, heading in the direction of his son and the Sacred Tree. Okku quickly found his trusted mount, thankfully still alive. Hopping on the great beast, Okku took off after the Jedi.

Luke wished he could just use Fold Space to get to his destination, but he had used it too many times today. He was already severely tired as it was, so Force Speed would have to do. Just when he thought it was over, he had felt a dark and angry presence in the Force. A presence that had seemed to be hiding during the battle. Not just hiding his body, but his Force Presence aswell. Which could only mean, it was a trained Force User! It could either be a Sith or just a Dark Jedi.

Luke had no way of knowing, but what he did know. Was that the presence was close the the Jedi Library and worse, Okko! If something happened to Okko now, then Jem and Rayf would never be born! And that was something Luke could not allow! So with that in mind, Luke pushed his Force Speed to the limit. Soon Luke entered the Grove the housed the ancient tree.

"Sith Spit!" Luke cursed to himself, when he beheld the scene in front of him. Okko was still tide to the tree, looking wide eyed at a man who held a lightsaber pointed at his throat. The lightsaber was blood red! The one holding the lightsaber was a Weequay with dark hair and brown eyes, wearing brown robes so dark they were almost black.

"So you are the one who has my Master up in arms?" Said the Weequay male, as he glared at Luke. "I was hoping my Morgukai would be enough to take care of you. I see, I was mistaken. But then again, I hadn't counted on a lot of resistance from the local natives. But that's alright, I'll come back with a battalion of Battle Droids. That'll teach them to interfere with my plans!"

"And who is this Master of yours, that I seemed to have upset?" Asked Luke, buying for time.

"Who my master is, is of no concern of yours! As you will soon be dead!" Sneered the Darksider. "I will be the one to kill you, and collect the reward! I, Sora Bulq! The greatest Lightsaber dualist to have ever existed!"

"I don't suppose there is a way to talk this out? I've already had my fill of bloodshed today." Said Luke.

"No talking, only dieing!" Said Bulq, as he pointed his lightsaber at Luke.

This had been what Luke had been waiting for, with Okko now out of immediate danger. Luke Force Shoved Bulq away from the young Ysanna, while igniting his own lightsaber and Force Leaping after the Dark Jedi.

Bulq was quick to recover, and met Luke's blade with his own. Within moments, Luke was forced on the defensive. While Bulq may not have been the greatest lightsaber dualist as he had claimed, he was however very skilled! His style, was one Luke had never encountered before. It was taking all of Luke's considerable skill in Soresu, to keep from getting hacked to pieces! To the naked eye it would appear as if Bulq was using several lightsabers at once.

Indeed Luke was having to rely heavily on Force Speed just to keep up. Something that was quickly tiring him out. Plus, he was already tired from fighting earlier. Indeed if it hadn't been for that fact, Luke might not have been having so much trouble. He needed to find away to end this, and soon!

"Your skill in Soresu is excellent! But you are no match for my Vaapad! A style I created, that I perfected!" Said Bulq, as he continued his onslaught.

Vaapad! Luke knew of that style, having read a few manuscripts about it, that had survived the Jedi Purge. But the manuscripts said that it was created by a Jedi Master named Windu. So either the manuscripts were mistaken, or this guy was full of Bantha PooDoo. Luke was inclined to believe the later, that this guy was full of it!

These musings would cost him, as he blocked a strike sloppily. Allowing the tip of Bulq's lightsaber to graze his leg. Luke didn't know what type of crystal was in Bulq's weapon, but whatever it was, it must have been unique! As the second it touched his leg, instead of a white hot burning sensation, his whole leg went numb! Causing him to drop to one knee, and allowing Bulq to disarm him!

"Master Luke!" He heard Okko cry out, as the young man struggled against the ropes binding him to the Tree.

"It will be okay, Okko." Said Luke, sounding more calm than he felt! "If he strikes me down, than I will become more powerful then even he could imagine!"

"Bah! Now you sound like that insufferable Qui-Gon!" Said Bulq, shocking Luke. This man knew of Qui-Gon Jinn?

"Good riddance to him, I say!" Said Bulq, finishing his tirade. "And good riddance to you as well!"

Bulq raised his lightsaber to deliver the finishing blow, right as Luke was preparing to unleash his Electric Judgment. What happened next, happened to fast. But Luke knew it would always be burned into his mind. With a loud roar, Okku came crashing into the Grove riding a huge beast.

"Die Sith Scum!" Said the Tribal Chief, as he jumped from the beast, wielding one of the blades of the Morgukai. For a fraction of a second, it looked as if Okku would succeed in cutting the Dark Jedi in half. But right before Okku's blade made contact, Bulq twisted. Maneuvering out of the way of the blade, and coming up behind the Chief. Impaling him on his lightsaber.

"NO!"

Luke wasn't sure afterward, who had yelled it. If it had been him, or Okko, or both. But what he was sure of, was that several things happened all at once. Ysanna Warriors rode into the Grove, no doubt having followed their Chief. Okko, had broken out of his bonds and ran to his fathers side, grabbing the blade his father had dropped. Emerald green lighting flew from Luke's left hand, as he unleashed his Electric Judgment. Striking Bulq and sending him flying into the Ancient Tree!

But what would always stick out in Luke's mind, was the roots of the Tree coming to life and binding the Fallen Jedi in place. Right as Okko, drove the blade into Sora Bulq's cheast! Luke and the other watched stunned as the tree shrank and changed shape, turning back into the ancient Neti Jedi Master, Ood Bnar. Well, that was what had stunned the others. Luke on the other hand already knew who the tree really was.

No, Luke was stunned for a whole different reason. He was stunned by just how similar this had been to the time he came here in his time, with just a few differences. This time instead of Jem being taken hostage, it was the man that would be her father. Just like instead of Ood Bnar dieing to stop Sedriss, it was Okku dieing to try and stop Bulq. No, this whole thing felt way too similar for Luke's liking. Most disturbing of all, who was Bulq's Master? Was it Palpatine? Or some other? And how had Luke attracted their attention?

Luke was brought out of his musings by a cry of "FATHER!"

Luke brought himself back to the situation at hand. Focusing on Okku, Luke saw that he was still alive, but wouldn't be for much longer. Luke saw that he was moving his lips but words were not coming out.

"Here, let me." Said Luke, as he limped to the fallen hero. Who was now being held by his son, and was surrounded by his tribesmen. Who all held a sad mournful look on their faces, as they gazed at their much beloved Chief. Luke knelt next to the downed Chief, and placed his hand upon the mans head.

"He's saying not to mourn for him." Said Luke. The Chief gave Luke a pained but thankful look."That he goes to be with your mother."

"You can read his thoughts?" Asked Okko, who looked close to tears. Luke nodded his head.

"What else is he saying?" Asked Okko, desperately.

"He's saying that, he can die in peace. Knowing that you are here to take his place, to lead your people." Said Luke solemnly.

"No! No, father I'm not ready!" Said Okko, who had succumb to his tears.

"He says, you are ready! He says, he's very proud of the man you have become. That he couldn't have asked for a better son." Said Luke as he felt the life leave the old Chief.

"I'm sorry, he's gone. His last words were, I love you, son!" Said Luke, to Okko.

"What?! NO! He can't be gone! He can't! NO, FATHER!" Cried Okko, as he held his father to him. Luke and the others turned away, giving the son privacy to grieve. Luke limped over to the ancient Jedi Ood Bnar, who was watching from the side lines.

"Greetings Jedi. I am Master Ood Bnar …it has been a long time since I sensed the presence of another Jedi!" Said the Neti Jedi to Luke when he approached.

"It's an honor to meet you, Master Ood. I am Jedi Master Luke Skywalker." Said Luke with a bow of respect.

In the days following the battle, Luke and Master Ood would help the Ysanna people to recover from the attack. Mostly this meant helping clear out rubble, but it also meant helping heal all whom needed it. Luke had been expecting them to hate and blame him, for bring this fate upon them, but they did not. In fact, if anything there respect for him grew. Once it came to light, that the plan to stop the invaders had been his.

But regardless of how they felt, Luke would never forgive himself. He thought much of the late Chief Okku, how the man had been jovial and excited to have a Jedi in his village. How happy he had been to have Luke witness his son's rite of passage. And yet, all Luke had done in the end was bring death to these people. Just like he had done to the Eol Sha people when he had moved them to Dantooine.

Both Luke and Ood Bnar gave their blessings to Okko as the new Chief of his tribe. Which did seem to give him more respect by his people. Finally two weeks after the battle, Luke and Ood loaded up Luke's shuttle with scrolls, books, datapads, and Holocrons recovered from the Jedi Library.

"Are you sure you wish to stay, Master Ood? I could sure use your wisdom, on my mission." Said Luke.

"You will do fine on your mission, Master Skywalker. But my mission is here, I will train any here who wish to learn, the ways of the Jedi." Said Ood, as he helped Luke load the last of his valuable cargo.

"Then I know they will be in good hands." Said Luke with a bow. "May the Force be with you, Master Ood."

Master Ood, likewise bowed. "May the Force be with you as well, my young friend."

With that Luke left Ossus headed back to Tython. It would be a long flight, with plenty of time to think.

System: Dromund System.

Planet: Dromund Kaas.

Location: Imperial Citadel, Ruins of Kaas City.

Time: 20, BBY.

Darth Sidious descended into the depths of the old Sith Capital. In the deepest part of this ruin, was a large cavernous room known only to him. He had discovered this place, while still an apprentice. He never shared this, discovery with his Master, and why should he have? Plagues would have wanted only to destroy it! But not he, no he saw a use for it. Even if only as a wild card. Should all his plans and careful scheming go awry, he would have a back up!

Sidious stepped into the room and looked around. Inside this room were hundreds of cryopods! Sidious contemplated his next move, he had always stayed loyal to the Rule of Two. One Master, one Apprentice. Which was fine with him, as long as he was the Master. Still Sidious thought, as he stopped in front of a Cryopod that read.

Emperor's Wrath.

Code Name: Tempest.

'If the Rule of Two, won't win me the Galaxy and assure the Jedi's destruction. Than I will cast it aside!'

(A.N) A moment of silence for my O.C, Okku... Okay, sorry about that. Just kind of hard, killing off my own creations( How does George R. R. Martin do it?) Well I got to say, this is probably the longest chapter I've ever written for any story. So I hope you readers appreciate it.

As you can see I wanted to try my hand at telling multiple story arch's, with just one chapter. So I took two different story arch's that were originally planed to be their own chapters and condensed them into one. I'm curious to know how you all think it turned out? Should I have left them to be two separate chapters? Or is it better this way?

This chapter also saw my first major battle scene, of any of my stories. I would REALLY appreciate some feed back on that. I mean if you all don't tell me what you like, or don't like. Then I can't improve my writing or my story.

Well... On to some good news or bad news, depending on how you look at it. We've got only one or two more chapters to go, before we get into Revenge of the Sith. Then this story will really start to take off. Now once I finish this story, I will write one or two One Shots, that will fill in the time in between R.o.t.S and A.N.H. Then I will start working on the Sequel to Gift of the Force, still haven't got a title worked out. If you have any ideas as to a title, let me know and I will give you credit in a shout out, when I write it.

P.S. I felt the need to clear something up. There has been some debate as to Luke's level of skill. Let me clear that up now. This is not movie Luke Skywalker, the is E.U Grand Master of the Jedi Order Luke Skywalker. Now, I won't go into a long drawn out argument. But between Revan and Luke, and keep in mind, I am a huge Fan of Both. But between the two, Luke is by far the more powerful and skilled. Not just in the Force but with a lightsaber as well.

Now some might be asking, well if Luke's so good with a Lightsaber. Then why did Sora Bulq spank him, in this chapter? Two reasons. First and foremost, Luke had tired himself out fighting the Nikto warriors. Going into a fight with a fresh and rested opponent, dead on your feet, not a good idea. Secondly, Luke has knowledge and skill in all seven forms of lightsaber combat. That being said, while Luke has fought plenty of Juyo practitioners. He had never fought a master of Juyo's more refined and perfected form, Vaapad. Put those two reasons together and yeah, it wasn't Luke's best day.

But look if anybody has any doubts about Luke's or Revan's Skills, just go to Wookieepedia. That where I get a lot on my infromation, other then the books I've read.

Anyways, next chapter: Journey to the Lost City.

Well that it for now, can't wait to hear from you. Please review.

Sincerely: Reddog24485.
