ENJOY!
A few tears slid down her cheeks and she was barely aware of them until a tissue was brought into her side vision. Without taking her eyes of the TV, Kyoko accepted the tissue from Kuon.
Her heart was crushing into tiny, tiny little pieces, poor Bambi!
How sad to lose one's mother right in front of his very eyes and at such a young age too!
The tissue became wet as more tears ran down.
Sensei handed her the box and she took it gratefully.
With more than half the box empty Kyoko could finally stop crying and feeling sorry for the grown Bambi. Still she held on to a spare tissue just in case more tragedy befell the poor deer.
When the credits rolled around Yashiro-san asked hesitantly "Are you okay Kyoko-chan?"
The tears had come back, and he wondered why, after all the movie had a happy ending.
Sniffing Kyoko replied radiantly "Oh I'm just glad that he had such a happy ending after having such a tragic beginning."
"Oh I see" said Yashiro, thinking that perhaps Kyoko was just sensitive when it came to movies.
Turning to Sensei Kyoko bowed and said "Thank you so much Sensei! For letting me watch this with you."
Sensei smiled "No problem."
Yashiro-san butted in "Only cuz he's an obsessed freak about this."
"I am not!"
"Did you not like the movie Yashiro-san?" inquired Kyoko. She knew it was not exactly right to take pleasure from it but Kyoko enjoyed their banter, it had a warm feeling to it.
"No, I actually enjoyed it Kyoko-chan. But Kuon has a unhealthy obsession with this movie."
"Pfft says the man who watched Cinderella one too many times to count" countered Sensei, with his arms crossed.
"You love Cinderella too!" exclaimed Kyoko.
The blood rushed to his cheeks as he stammered, trying to ignore Kuon's smirk.
"I…well…I wouldn't say…umm"
"He does" answered Sensei before Yashiro-san could.
"Really?! Me tooo!" gushed Kyoko.
No longer feeling embarrassed due to Kyoko's endearing look, Yashiro grinned.
"Out of all the princess movies, that one is my absolute favorite. How about you Yashiro-san?"
Kuon watched as they delved into a conversation of all things Disney princesses.
"We're going to have to rehabilitate you Kyoko-san" interrupted Sensei moments later, as Kyoko looked at Yashiro-san as if he was a long lost family member found "Yukihito I know is a lost cause, but you're fairly young so there still time."
"Rehabilitate me? Why? For what?"
"For this Disney princess obsession, or as I like to call it the hime-sama syndrome."
"Oh please, like you don't have any Disney obsessions, and plus what's the worst that could happen even if she did have such a syndrome?" countered Yashiro-san.
"Oh I don't know, she could be blinded by the naivety of the message portrayed in those movies. What better way to misunderstand guys and girls than a Disney movie and what better way to make a fool of yourself? I mean look at all you failed relationships" said Kuon snickering, not noticing the way Kyoko had stiffened.
"Hey! You can't make such a generalized statement, much less talk about my failed relationships, after all the crap relationships you went through."
"Umm I think I should go" came the quiet voice of Kyoko.
Both men turned to her and one look at her, and Kuon knew that he had literally put his foot in his mouth. Yashiro was surprised at her change in attitude.
She got up before they could stop her and bowed her way out, not waiting for them to reply.
Sensei's statement had been a punch to her stomach. She had been happily listening to them and the words he said ran cold down her body. He had described her situation with the perfect words.
She had dreamed of the fairytale ending and up until a couple of months ago she had still been dreaming of it. Of Sho sweeping her off her feet and living happily after.
To think she had been such a baka. How much more stupid could a person get?
Sensei was right, she had made an utter fool of herself and now she was paying the price for living in such delusions once upon a time.
"Hey hey!" said the voice of Sensei as he grabbed her shoulders just as she stepped out of the building.
She did not want to turn around and face him, but swallowing her shame she did look up at him.
"I was joking around with Yukihito, I didn't mean anything by it, nor was the joke directed at you in any way" he apologized looking extremely worried.
She smiled, wondering how nice he could be sometimes.
"It's okay Sensei, I know you weren't trying to be mean, or talking about me just then."
"Then why do you look like you're facing death?" he questioned unlocking his bike.
"Because it doesn't change facts," she told him simply.
"You know rather than wallowing in pity you can either move on or take your chance at revenge" he said looking up at the night sky.
She narrowed her eyes at him and he grinned even though he was not looking at her.
Why did he have to be so good at pushing the right buttons especially hers. This is what she was scared of, him reading her so well that she did not even know where he entered from.
He was right of course, she had to move on, this feeling of being tethered between her past and her future was frustrating.
"So what's the plan?"
"The plan?"
"Yep"
"The plan….is to see if we can stop your bad habit" she said with a small smile.
He laughed and she was glad.
When they reached the inn she bowed goodbye to him and went inside. She never looked back to see him staring at her back.
She greeted the Okami-san letting her know that she was back.
To her annoyance Sho was waiting at her door.
"Where were you?" he questioned, though Kyoko saw it more as a demand rather than a question.
"Nowhere in particular" she replied.
He gave her a confused look.
"Why are back so late then?" he asked suspiciously.
"I lost track of time" she shrugged.
"Oh"
Kyoko opened slide her door open and turned to face Sho.
"Oyasuminasai Sho-chan" she said softly smiling.
Sho stood shocked, watching the door close slowly as her body disappeared from sight.
As he walked back to his room, he smiled slowly knowing full well that Kyoko could never stay mad at him for a long time.
Who cared if she visited some pansy blonde counselor a couple of times, it did not mean anything. Kyoko would always come back to him.
Kyoko took a deep breath as she slid down the door. She hoped she had done okay; her heart sped up as she lied to Sho and yet it felt somewhat liberating, almost like she was keeping a secret to herself. She giggled at that thought. She would need to practicing the smiling though, she had almost wanted to punch something when she smiled at him just now.
First rule of revenge: Keep your friends close and your enemies much closer.
I said this on my other story and i'll say it here, I was thinking of opening up a twitter for updates and stuff on these stories, tell me if you think it is utterly pointless cuz a part of me thinks it is and a part thinks it isn't. Or another type of social media account,if you feel something else feels better.
