Courtney was bored, sitting on the tree stump watching everyone perfect the moves. Duncan and Gwen didn't look like they were taking it all that seriously. At this point, Courtney really didn't care. She had already warned them about what would happen if they started goofing off. Everyone knew Courtney hated losing, especially if she knew that her teammates could've done much better.
Courtney decided to practice her water bending moves. They would win, and be safe from elimination. Every time they won a challenge she was closer to winning. And she liked winning. But today she had invincibility even if she lost.
"Waterbenders, the firebenders are coming to your site in about five minutes since you guys need the water to bend, get ready for battle!" Chris announced over the loudspeaker, ceasing everyone's practice.
"Don't be nervous guys," Courtney warned her team. "That makes you sloppy, and sloppiness causes you to make mistakes and loose."
Everyone was listening to her closely.
"You guys will do well," Courtney said. "I've seen you guys practice the moves and perfect them."
"Thanks Courtney," DJ thanked. "It's nice to know that you believe in us."
Courtney smiled. "You're welcome."
"Don't be nervous," Leshawna reassured herself and Courtney patted her on the back.
The fire benders and Chris walked onto the scene and Heather looked triumphant.
"Water benders, get ready for battle," Chris announced. "The team which wins gets invincibility, but Courtney and Heather, you get invincibility either way! Good luck!"
"Well, well Courtney," Heather scoffed spitefully. "Looks like your little team is…going down!"
"Oh please Heather," Courtney scoffed. "You probably taught your team not the basics but rather the dumbbells."
Everyone took their positions and their stances. The firebenders were on one side and the waterbenders were on the other side.
"E-scope likes FIRE!" Izzy exclaimed, blowing the first attack towards the end of the waterbenders' line. You really weren't supposed to start the first attack alone. Leshawna quickly took the psycho hose beast down.
Heather fired the next attack towards Courtney and Courtney smirked. She blocked the attack with a water whip and took her down by summoning water towards her and freezing her in it. Luckily Heather didn't know the breath of fire technique yet, so she wasn't able to break free in time.
Gwen and Duncan took down Owen who was too hungry to focus on anything at the moment. Justin refused to get his hair wet or anything burned and sat the challenge out. Beth and Trent were the last ones standing and the water benders cornered them. Seeing that they were outnumbered, they surrendered with honor.
"Looks like the waterbenders win this fight!" Chris announced and Courtney smiled. Her team cheered.
*At the trailers*
Courtney was laying on her top bunk on her PDA. She was scrolling through messages from her lawyers. Out of office, out of office….
Then her phone rang, making her drop her PDA.
"Crap," She sighed.
It was her sister, Taylor.
"Hello?" Courtney asked.
"Hey Court," Taylor said. "What's up?"
Taylor was Courtney's sister who was one year older then her.
"You know what's up," Courtney sighed. "Duncan broke up with me and I can't help but think of the good times we had…"
"Well I know that you've been acting kind of weird," Taylor laughed.
"How'd you know?" Courtney asked.
"Well let's just say," Taylor laughed. "You're not exactly bossymcbossypants."
"And you called because…?" Courtney asked.
"I just wanted to tell you to not give up and focus on the competition," Taylor instructed.
"It's hard…" Courtney sighed. "I see Gwen and Duncan and they look so happy."
"Remember that time one of your exes broke up with you and you thought he loved you?" Taylor asked, and Courtney tried to remember. "Well you didn't give up then. You still held your head up high. Duncan is no different."
"And your point is..?" Courtney asked.
"Just be strong," Taylor advised. "You can still win the day. Trust me, if I was on that show, I'd want to kill Gwen too."
Courtney laughed.
"Now will you do me a favor and keep your head in the game?" Taylor asked.
"Okay," Courtney said.
Courtney hung up feeling better.
