Chapter Sixteen: The Confrontation

"Sookie, it is me, Bill," he said. "I did not want you to alert Eric to my presence here."

Sookie continued to try to fight him so she could get away. All she could hear was the guard's voice in her head calling her names and see him trying to hurt her. She did not want to be raped again.

'Maybe if I stop moving he might drop his hand.' she thought.

She suddenly stopped moving and Bill took that as a sign she was done fighting him and dropped his hand from covering her mouth. Sookie screamed and suddenly she was not being held but standing on her own, looking at Eric holding Bill up by his neck.

"Why do you keep coming back here, Bill?" Eric asked. "Sookie does not want you here."

"I felt her fear and came here to save her. It just took me a while to get here since someone took her states away before he hurt her."

"You came here and scared her. Who was she just afraid of Bill? It was not me. I have not hurt her. It was you. You need to leave," he stated, placing Bill back on the ground on his feet.

"I want to hear her say that to me."

Bill started walking towards Sookie and she screamed out again and yelled, "GO AWAY! I don't want you here! Leave me alone. Don't touch me!" before turning to Eric and clinging to him in fear.

Eric wrapped his left arm around her and walked her towards the car, commanding, "do not follow us," back towards Bill, "or I will make sure you meet the true death."

"You are not taking her away again," Bill stated following them. "I will not let you."

Eric quickly sat Sookie in the car and shut the door before returning to stand in front of Bill.

"You asked for it."

"Wh-" was all Bill got out before he was turned into a bloody pile at Eric's feet.

Bill had not even seen the stake in Eric's hand that he had gotten out of the Corvette and now he had me the true death and was dead forever. He could no longer hurt or scare Sookie. That is all Eric was worried about.

"Now if only my other problem was this easy to fix," Eric commented as he turned around and walked back to his car.

Eric and Sookie had been in the car for quite some time. Eric had been driving for the past three hours; ever since her had got Sookie in the car and left Bill's remains in the yard of the house for one of his employees to clean up.

Bill had really scared Sookie this time and he had gone too far. He really wished he could have killed him with out witnesses around but it could not be helped and it was done now. Sookie had the same look of fear in her eyes that was there when the guard had her and Eric was not about to let anyone hurt again if he could do anything to help it.

'How could Bill be so fucking stupid!' he thought as he looked over at Sookie. 'This is going to make everything for her so much worse than it was already.'

Sookie had not spoken one word since he had walked her to the car. She just kept staring out the passenger side car window into the darkness surrounding them. He tried numerous times to get her to speak and she did not talk or even seem to move.

If he were human, he might be tempted to check her for vital signs, but being a vampire he could hear her heartbeat. Unlike earlier, when Bill had her, it indicated no signs of distress. He tried again to get her to move or talk with no success, so he just decided to talk to her.

"Sookie?" he questioned, with no reply from her.

"We will be at another one of my houses very soon. It only has three bedrooms and three baths. The house is a fairly new addition to my homes. I have only had it for about twenty years; which I suppose to you would be a long time."

Eric glanced over to Sookie to see that she was still looking out the window. Sighing, he continued.

"It has a very large kitchen for it's total size but, I had it custom built and requested it be built that way. We should be there in about thirty minutes. . ."

". . .and here we are," Eric said as he pulled the car into the drive way of a cute little one story house.

It was a sky blue house with a slightly darker shade of blue shutters. It was definitely not a house any one would ever guess was designed by or ever belonged to Eric Northman or a vampire.

It honestly reminded Sookie of a small doll house. The house had a full porch on the front of it; complete with a porch swing. It definitely did not look like something she would have ever thought Eric would own, until recently that is.

Eric got out of the car and walked around to Sookie's side of the car and opened her door. She tilted her head to look at Eric and grabbed his left hand with her right hand.

He helped her out of the car and quickly went in to trunk of the car to grab all of the bags, before returning to her side. She walked in to the house beside Eric and in to the living room area where he temporarily left her, to drop off the groceries in the kitchen, before returning to stand beside Sookie.

"I will show you where everything is tomorrow. I am sure you just want to sleep, as do I."

Sookie did not say anything, just walked beside him down the hallway.

"As I said before, there are three bedrooms. Two on the front of the house and one on the back. Does it matter to you which bedroom you sleep in?"

Again, Sookie said nothing; just stared straight ahead.

"Well, I suppose that means you do not care so I will pick this room," he replied opening a door to his left. "It has lots of blues, which I have noticed you seem to keep picking."

Sookie walked in the room and over to the bed. She sat on the side of it and after removing her shoes she laid down.

"You will probably want to be under the covers if you want me to stay in here with you, because you will get cold."

Sookie stood up long enough to pull the covers down before lying down again in the bed and pulling the covers up over herself.

'I guess that means she still wants me with her.'

Eric sat down their bags on the floor, walked over to the opposite side of the bed, and sat down. After leaning over to take off his shoes as well he too, laid down on the bed.

"Good night, Sookie," he said turning off the lamp in the room.

Eric POV

"When I was sixteen, I was married," I started, looking over to Sookie for some sort of reaction. I received none so I continued. "Times were different then. I was considered a man at the age of twelve. Most men married by sixteen. I married my brother's widow. Her name was Aude."

Once again, I paused to look at Sookie to see if she had reacted in any way. To my dismay, she was still sitting there with the same blank expression on her beautiful face.

Taking an unneeded sigh, I continued, "I was betrothed to another girl, but when my brother died suddenly, leaving a pregnant widow, I was told to take her as my own as she was family and could not be left on her own. It was either myself or my fathers duty. Having lived with my father, I would have never placed anyone in that same fate and if I married, I would leave his house as well and I would finally be free of him."

"I knew Aude was a nice girl so I chose to marry her. She was fifteen at the time of your wedding. She had been just fourteen when my brother and her at wed. Unfortunately, the child they conceived before his death only lived a few moments after it's birth before it's passing."

I paused yet again to look towards Sookie in the hopes that I would see some sign she was listening to me. I did not receive any indication that was true however.

"Aude and I had six children during our marriage. Not all of them survived birth or childhood. We had two boys and one girl who were still living when I went off to war. Aude however was not alive at that time. She had died during childbirth to our only surviving daughter. She was twenty years old at the time of her death. I was married and widowed by the age of just twenty-one. It was a much harsher world back then."

"It was 1077 when Godric turned me vampire. I was thirty one and off fighting in the war. I had been gravely injured and would have died for sure during that time when he found me. Instead of feeding on me and killing me, he turned me and made me his son. That was the first time I had ever really known a father's love. My time with him," I said as I felt blood tears stain my cheeks. "The love Godric had for me. My human father had never shown me any. Love to him was a week emotion of woman."

I hope you like my Eric story this chapter.

For the Bill fans sorry if it made you upset that I killed him off, but I did warn you in the beginning that this was NOT a love of Bill fan fiction so you were kind of warned about that really!
