Chapter 7: Warrior of Horus
Harry woke up sputtering and heaving harshly for air, he could hear Anubis 'Breathe just breathe.'
Harry stood his countenance groggy and his limbs stiff, "Why does my body hurt so much."
Anubis replied in an amused tone "Well, technically you were dead…physically. It is to be expected that Rigor Mortis would set in."
Harry nodded and walked towards the now open vault, steadying himself against the door he walked through.
He gasped…
It was a stark contrast to the dark cave he just came from, it didn't even look old. It looked like it was made yesterday, a sweet smell wafted in the air.
"That would be the honey mixed in the paint and wax seals." Anubis added, "It looks as if it were made yesterday because the enchantments here preserved it."
Harry then saw the numerous scrolls and tomes, rows upon rows. But he wasn't in here to sightsee, his friend was in danger.
Anubis would've been impressed by his determination if not for the fact he fell on his face at 3 feet. Anubis sighed "Your body is too weak, your magic is returning…as it stands even with me empowering you, your defeat is certain."
Harry brought his wrist to his face and glared at the bracelet "Are you saying I should give up."
"It is not a matter of determination or even your courage, child. It's the fact that you're facing 2 extremely powerful Sorcerers and you are not in any condition to win." The bracelet glowed hot for a brief moment as it changed into a smaller circle with a small jackal head in the middle. "Remember you are a child and no amount of denying that fact will help you against your opponents."
Harry was torn but he sighed conceding to Anubis "You're right. I'm no position to help Zatanna but you can't expect me to just lie here and do nothing."
Anubis chuckled "When did I say you had to?"
Harry felt strange hands hold him and lift him up. He struggled but Anubis told him to keep calm, the two pairs that were holding him took him to what seemed to be infirmary and laid him on a bed.
Harry watched gaping at the misshapen bodies of these wax and clay beings, from what he could tell there were a bunch of them running around…panicking.
A blue light appeared from a corner and a voice "Who in the name of Apophis are you?"
Harry was stunned as he saw a 15 year old translucent boy dressed in what he could guess to be Egyptian clothes fit for royalty. The ghostly boy scoffed "A commoner broke the wards! Ridiculous! I Caesarion Ptolemy XV refuse to believe that a child barely 10 broke one of the strongest wards known to both mortals and immortals. Are you beastly things mocking me, I asked you to bring forward the one who broke the wards not bring the first person you see?!"
Harry's eyebrow twitched as he saw the boy start smacking the clay and wax figures and then braced against a wall and started to sob dramatically, of course Harry knew he was faking "Why? Why am I stuck here? Why didn't I join my dear mother…nay on further examination its better I didn't join her, probably would've been confined to her chambers. Damn you father why couldn't you please mother, you weak excuse of a male and they called you Caesar. Then there was my earlier wound, Mark Antony pompous knave bewitched my mother with a love potion, that's it why else would she have left my side…yes that's it. Then there's my cousin Octavian or as he was known later Emperor Augustus what a hedonistic fool, I knew he wanted my body that freak, indeed who craves both male and female flesh…that in of itself is unnatural then he had to listen to Arius Didymus the man with the egg shaped head and assassinate me. Of course I survived and was in hiding for a while before dying of a measly sickness, oh how I jumped with joy when I heard Augustus was poisoned to death by his wife Livia."
Harry was comically shivering, staring wide-eyed as he and the clay beings huddled and pressed themselves to the wall opposite of Caesarion even Anubis blanched.
"Why do I have to be cursed with such good looks, Mother! Father!" He exclaimed to the heavens and it was also the first time Harry ever screamed in horror.
.
.
"Breathe, child." Anubis spoke calmly to a hyperventilating Harry Potter as he materialized on the mortal plane through the bracelet.
Caesarion looked ashamed as he bowed to Anubis, the god looked at the boy "That…was one of the most disturbing things I've ever had the displeasure of hearing. What were you thinking speaking all that in front of a 9 year old boy? You basically scarred him for life."
Anubis gestured to the clay beings "Your depravity even frightened these emotionless Shabti (Answerers)." He pinched the bridge of his nose as he continued "We need your help, Ptolemy. The boy was used to tear open the ward and the ones who did it are walking inside unhindered, towards their goal. I dread to ask but why aren't there any measures to stop these intruders."
Caesarion stood miffed "All I got here are worthless Shabti built to be librarians not guards, it was what I was working on for centuries. What did you think I was doing?!"
"Do you want an honest answer to that question?" Anubis stated blankly.
Harry still trying to control his breathing and purge everything he just heard. He just pointed at Anubis and then at Ptolemy.
Anubis raised an eyebrow "You're asking how I know this boy. Well he is the same as you actually, born into a family of Magi; he has bound his soul into an object…if I remember the term correctly Horcrux a Greek invention apparently but Egyptians had taken great strides in the same idea for generations before it was purported as an invention of the Greeks. Those idiots immediately saw it as an escape from death, a chance at immortality. Egyptian Magi used it to destroy demons, a spell known as Execration but they also found it as a tool to allow a soul to remain and teach future generations but it was never perfected. Ptolemy I Soter the first foreign ruler of Egypt and trusted general of Alexander III, he was the one who saw similarities between the Greek version and the Egyptian version so he began an endeavor to see if both styles could be merged."
Anubis gestured to Caesarion and continued "This is the end result, we gods knew of attempts because we unlike our Greek counterparts kept closer watch on all things connected to the soul. We accepted the idea of a soul remaining behind if only to learn and teach but refused to allow it as an attempt for immortality. If you venture into numerous tombs around the land you will find crude attempts of Horcruxes but only the Ptolemaic line kept the secret of a perfect one. Caesarion, last of the Ptolemaic line and a prodigy in Hermeticism and Magi arts is the only one needed to watch over this place so when his time came he sealed his soul into an object so that he may continue his studies in relative peace for eternity."
Caesarion then stated blandly "Yay me"
"Of course we gods had to keep an eye on Caesarion to make sure he didn't get any…untoward ideas so I volunteered. It was also to see if there were any undesirable outcomes but thanks to me being able to talk to him from time to time he was able to stave off the insanity of isolation. It has been a while since I came here; it appears he has become very eccentric of late."
Harry gave him a pointed look which clearly asked 'how long is a while'.
Anubis scratched his cheek and answered "A couple of centuries…"
"Unreliable god" Harry stated as he sat facing a corner, Caesarion and the Shabti nodded agreeing with.
"Hey I'm not unreliable!" he then exclaimed at the Shabti "Stop agreeing with him!"
Anubis coughed into his hand and said "Let's focus on the matter at hand, Caesarion do you have anything that'll help my young charge."
Caesarion had a crazed grin as he moved towards an altar which held a sundial; he grabbed the triangle and turned it clockwise. There were sounds of gears shifting and clanks of metal as the wall split open to reveal what could only be a mad scientist lab. Harry stared in awe 'It's a lot like Zeuxis's lab, though with a lot less metal.'
Caesarion then moved towards a shelf where numerous items were held, he picked one that looked like a golden glove. Dusting it off first he threw it to Harry, Anubis looked surprised "Is that…"
"Talon of Horus, it should give you enough of a boost to hold your own. It's made from that strange magic resistant metal those winged one's had but because it is magic resistant it had to undergo many rituals so that its attributes melded." Caesarion then went towards dusting off a few things here and there, before he stood at the base of two amber covered 10ft long tubes.
Inside were two girls, Harry looked away blushing at their naked bodies. But he did get an eyeful, both were mocha skinned and very pretty, both had strange animal features.
Caesarion then walked…floated up to Harry and pricked his hand with a golden needle. Anubis growled "Is that a descendant of one of my priests."
Harry looked towards the one Anubis gestured at, long ebony hair, with a pair of jackal ears sticking out on top; she had claw like nails and even a tail to match. The other one was strange she had a purplish tint to her skin, she had various tattoos on the skin of her arms and legs, her long hair started ebony black turning a purplish red at the ends.
Caesarion started "She asked for this, I don't know why nor do I care but she is a descendant of a devout priest of yours, her name is Mehi I think…" Caesarion looked at the other one and said "This one is a golem constructed in my mother's image she is meant to be a priestess to Apophis and a guard to this place."
Harry curious asked "If she was made to protect the place why isn't she doing it right now?"
"Well a golem is a magical construct, in alchemy we call them Homunculi but the difference is that a Homunculus is formed when an Alchemist attempts human transmutation trying to turn back death and a Golem is a magically constructed helper which can mimic a soul or even be born with a soul if empowered by a mystical being, I can go on and on about this subject and we'll be here for days but the gist of it is that I couldn't activate her." Caesarion smiling haughtily showing off his brilliance to a nine year old, Harry was puzzled as he knew what a Golem was as he was given an overview of them and their Japanese counterparts 'Shikigami' that Rei and Kai showed him.
Harry pointed at the many Shabti "But all these seem to be working fine what's the difference."
"Shabti or Answerers are not Golem they're similar but not quite same, in the sense that a Shabti is created with some form of defect as you can see cause if you create one perfect then it'll just kill you since it won't need you. Golem are complex to create and can be created organic or out of earth or metal but because they can be alive the guiding rule is that it needs to have a recognizable master, the one I created won't activate so to speak because I don't have any blood to tie it to me." Caesarion gave a crazed smirk again as he held a golden needle with Harry's blood right at the girls lips and then repeated the process for the other girl.
"A golem empowered by Apophis! What gave you that crazed idea?" Anubis shouted at Caesarion in shock, Caesarion cackled "What? It's never been done before, but why are you worrying she'll be tied to the boy and under his control."
Purple energy exuded from the girls figure as her skin took on a more purple color, Anubis held Harry back and had a staff ready in his hand "You fool, Apophis is chaos! There no such thing as control…"
Anubis trailed off surprised by the next action they took.
Both girls reacted standing robotically, walking towards Harry and then kneeled "Master"
.
.
Wotan felt like he was in paradise, so many things to read, so much knowledge. He laughed as he felt age old magic's wash over him, the collective auras of all the items and weapons one could find here.
Then came the rough clearing of one's throat, and he was pulled from his daydreams.
"If you are quite done entertaining yourself, then could we move on to our objective?" Black Adam hefted Zatanna over his shoulder and strode forward, "While we're on that topic could you give me a clue as to what we're searching for."
"I don't see why not. Well I'm sure you've heard the unknown legend of how the Pantheons joined forces to fight off a crazed evil so much so that the gods representing evil itself led their brethren through the charge. Set, Loki, Hades even Lucifer himself led the mythical forces of our world against the crazed evil that wished to invade our dimension. Now this story isn't well known because of what those gods/metaphysical beings represented as such even the good they do is unseen. What we seek is that evil's tiny castoff something that was left behind during that battle and something that was found by the Egyptians and I've found numerous obscure texts giving statements about this thing. Many of those statements were the ramblings of half mad authors and most of them are gibberish but from what texts that I've read I've gleaned that it is aware, a sentience and that it's power are basically anything in the dark including shadows and through it track Shazam and then you can enact your vengeance on that meddling wizard.
Yes, Adam you can finally come face to face with that decrepit fool, it doesn't matter what enchantments he placed on himself or his surroundings all will be circumvented. It has been given many names through the ages and has been passed across the world through various cultures, affecting them somehow. All those who possessed it were touched by its madness, the gods strove to make sure any information on it was stricken but even gods miss things and many books held mentions of it but by burying that information in deluge of words these missed that purge. They needn't slay anyone as the secret is closely guarded by those who know of the item. It has gained many names but 'Ender's Sigil' has been my favorite."
Black Adam annoyed by Wotan's haughty look asked "Well then if this Ender's Sigil is as dangerous as you claim, how do you propose we use it with our minds intact. Unlike you I prefer my sanity where it is."
"Come now, should immortals such as us need to worry over something as meager as sanity. Insanity and Sanity are so abstract to beings such as us; we all have felt both in some instance of our long lives." Wotan spoke his voice morose as he added "As you should know Pharaoh."
Adam stiffened as he realized what Wotan was talking about, his loss of self all those years ago which caused him to turn from a hero into a despot and ruthlessly slaughter his own family. He knew what Wotan was referring to in his own regard; he knew the Viking's story. How he was trapped in a loop, Wotan was once a woman but he was tortured and abused till he died and was reincarnated into his current body but the scars he held marked his soul and the recurring memories caused him to go insane as an adolescent becoming the Wotan he was before him. The curse his past life put on his soul turned him into this…
Or that's what he heard anyway, Wotan's origins were largely unknown nor did most even seem to care to find out.
Wotan sighed "But I agree nonetheless we need to be coherent, so I propose a sacrifice."
He looked at the unconscious Zatanna "We do have a sacrificial lamb… allowing the Ender's Sigil to use the girl as a vessel will allow me gain insight as to its effects thus grant me a chance to create countermeasures."
Black Adam gritted his teeth, 'Another child, she's the same age as my daughter Aui… I can't go through with it… but Shazam need's to pay. No this is better; Wotan won't be swayed and if he is, his malice can give the girl a much worse fate.'
"That is quite the vendetta against her father, care to elaborate Wotan."
Wotan laughed "I have no vendetta against Zatara just his kind. Homo Magi were the main cause of my cursed existence and I plan to make sure each and every one of them pays."
Black Adam kept silent the rest of the way, Wotan led them past so many artifacts and books of power, many of which Adam hadn't seen in ages.
The silence followed till they reached a large black grilled gate, akin to a jail cell door but much more intricate in design. Adam was surprised to see Wotan just push it open.
Wotan noticed this and simply stated "The bars and glyphs are just for show, the real magic we need to face is inside and it is truly fearsome. Some of the most powerful curses and darkest wards ever created by Egyptian magi"
They walked into what seemed to be an empty cavern, both were shocked at the fact that they stood over a void. A solid crimson eye opened beneath them and then they felt the darkness begin to surround and creep over them, tearing at them feasting on them.
They felt their magic and flesh being ripped off by the shadows and then all of a sudden it stopped.
It took a while for them to get their bearings; Zatanna had scampered out of Adam's loose grasp as she fell against the wall, her eyes wide and scared. Adam knelt beside her holding her shoulder so that she wouldn't hurt herself, "Calm yourself child!" he turned to Wotan "What was that Wotan? It wasn't magic, it was pure malice!"
Wotan didn't answer him instead studying his surroundings, they stood before a large multiple star heptagon circle. In the center sat a 5ft obsidian pyramid, Wotan raised an eyebrow in shock 'I knew it was under powerful protections but I never imagined something like this, they stuck it inside a miniature pyramid! With all this enchantments and arcane energy here I'm shocked we even felt what we did!'
Pyramid are built in the shape they are because they act as natural wells of energy as they draw and concentrate it in their center, the heptagon was a rarely used symbol in magic circles because of its volatility, star heptagon even more so. Pentagrams were always the most stable but the use of multiple star heptagons within this chamber formed a chain of stability.
Wotan huffed in annoyance as he touched one of the numerous glyphs/runes only for his hand to be repelled.
"This may take a while…"
.
.
Harry sighed as he fidgeted with the Talon of Horus on his left arm, it kept sliding off. 'It's too big!'
"Master, do you require assistance."
Harry turned to Mehi, a priestess of Anubis who had pledged herself to him, her jackal ears alert but her face devoid of emotion. "No, Mehi thanks for offering."
The other golem, which Harry now calls Cleo because her full name was too wordy, was stark opposite of Mehi. She was very snake like and conversed unknowingly in Parseltongue but was extremely expressive in her words and actions.
Harry knew how to read a person, Cleo may be extremely affectionate but she was like a snake coiling to strike while Mehi was cold and calculating. Harry couldn't understand how but he knew that both were powerful in their own way.
Caesarion floated behind the group, still twitchy from the spells that Harry threw at him. Apparently he was hoping that the two when awakened would kill their master so he was very vocal in his disappointment when they pledged themselves to Harry. 'Caesarion is absolutely insane!'
But despite his random bouts of madness Caesarion seemed capable, Anubis vouched for him so Harry decided to give the crazed Horcrux a chance.
He sighed again as he walked down the path which led to Adam and Wotan. Anubis who still had a corporeal body walked beside and with a wave conjured some chocolates, named 'Galaxy' which he chewed on leisurely.
He offered Harry some, "Might be the last time you ever have some."
"How can you be so calm?" Harry asked as he feasted on the offered chocolate, Anubis replied with a blank stare.
Harry blinked before groaning "Right, god…"
"Why aren't you?" Anubis asked before continuing "It is far better if you stay calm and survive then to lose your head and your life."
They got closer to the ominous doorway, Caesarion halted "I swore oaths that I would in no way enter this place, my predecessors were pretty insistent. Breaking my oath even as I am now would destroy me." He turned towards a column of books and raised his hand bringing forth an urn, "Ground bones, Ash and Graveyard soil. This has all you need to conjure some extra help. While it has been short, it's the most fun I've had in centuries, young Harry Potter so do try to survive."
Harry just stared at the ghostly boy who handed him a large Urn and promptly began to walk away from them doing a little skip as he turned the corner. Anubis chuckled and gestured Harry to follow, as they neared the place both felt something sinister…
'Come give me a feast little god!'
Anubis grew deathly still, no pun intended, Harry himself shivered as he felt that voice grate inside his mind 'It completely bypassed my Occlumency! What was that?!'
Harry's attention was drawn to Anubis who growled menacingly and looked as though his features began to get animalistic, that wasn't the only thing as the Talon of Horus grew hot as it shrunk down until it fit his hand.
"W-W-What w-was that?" Harry asked with a gulp, his body already pumping adrenalin screaming at him to run and hide.
"Herew (Monster)" Anubis growled out through gritted teeth, and he held Harry's shoulder "Damn humans and their curiosity! Harry this is no jest…What we're about to encounter… there is no explanation for it, no explanation for its fearsome power. One misstep and it will not only consume you but your immortal soul and wipe you from existence."
He turned towards Mehi and Cleo who were just as shaken as them "Listen well, you master's life will be in grave danger so be on your guard."
"What was that Anubis?!" Harry shouted at the Egyptian death god, Anubis in his shaken state snapped at Harry "Be Silent!"
Harry pedaling back in fright which broke Anubis out of his stupor; Anubis took a deep breath "Forgive me for my outburst Harry, but the thing that's inside…it is something we gods have learned to fear."
Anubis had his head bowed as he spoke "Humans have it easy, you know deep down that at some point you will die and you go on living with that knowledge. You even understand that the soul has a place to go…but…but us gods…we were born immortal, we live for eons even if humans forget us we still exist but our power is controlled by humanities belief in us but unlike humans whose soul has a place to go we gods face oblivion in death… just nothingness. To the elder gods who faced the creature it was a nightmare the likes of which they have never faced before, to younger gods like me its name was used as threat to make us behave, we have never faced it and few hardly even believe it exists but I being a god of death know better that such things do exist."
He strode forward, taking the urn out of Harry's hands, "Have you heard about the Great Old ones?" Seeing his puzzled look was answer enough, "Humans and their short memories… Great Old Ones are unique, malignant beings of great power that are physically present in Earth, as opposed to the more cosmically placed entities and to uniform races such as the Cthonians, the Deep Ones, the Elder Things and the Mi-go. These beings came into being during a chaotic period and as such reflected that chaos in their personalities, a majority of these god like beings weren't benevolent… it was also this during this period that this monster came into being… but the Old Ones they didn't think it was a threat, they were far more interested in warring with each other and establishing their power.
An opinion, I'm embarrassed to say was shared by my grandparents, for the Egyptians it was the changing of the old guard, the Greeks were still reeling from the great Titan-Olympian war and every other major Pantheon was just setting up roots so to speak and hence disregarded the thing as a credible threat… all but one, Cthulhu an embodiment of Water, an Old One saw the thing as a threat and acted the only way he knew how. But… the end result is what frightened all immortals and shattered our delusions of invincibility, Cthulhu was erased from existence and it consumed him and it wasn't done there, oh no, it kept attacking and feeding on many godly beings and erasing them from existence the Old Ones were hit the worst as the humans forgot they even existed, to avoid that fate the many pantheons big and small banded together under the leadership of the most unexpected gods and celestial beings.
Loki from the Norse, Hades from the Greek, Set from the Egyptians, Izanami from the Shinto even Lucifer of the Biblical God… you see a pattern Harry, these are all beings who are now termed as Evil Gods or Dark Gods, but Humanity owes its existence to these 'Dark Gods' as the battle was a hard won one. But the result of the battle can be seen on these gods, they carry scars on their divinity, my father, Set said it was the curse of that wretched thing they named Sa-ilo Rtha, 'The Outcast'. We gods also believe that the Sins humans are so fearful and wary of came from it."
"So we got a big fight…" Harry asked nervous, his adrenalin rush still going strong. Anubis gestured him to follow and both began pick up their pace as they crossed the threshold of that seal, "When we face the enemy use everything in your arsenal, Harry. I'll provide support only for a little while, the laws that bind me will not allow my interference in your battle directly for too long."
Anubis chanted a spell while grabbing a handful of the urn's contents and throwing it, as the dust settled it changed color from ash gray to black and 4 mounds began to rise from the ground.
The mounds took the form of zombie like jackal-headed warriors and you could tell which one was the leader because of the headdress he wore and also the staff he wielded had scallop shaped blades on either end. The rest were armed with 2 sickle shaped blades.
"Let us enter the fray, young magi!"
.
.
Morgaine Le Fey stepped before the now ruined cavern and with a wave pushed the library door open, "So this is where it's been…"
Mordred looked around for Harry using a spell that showed his magical energy and the events that occurred played before the motley crew till the point of Harry trying to fight back with bracelet and then dropping to the floor dead.
Mordred with a roar of anger lashed out at the cavern wall ripping a giant hole in it, his mother in a cold voice spoke "That is enough Mordred."
Mordred stopped "But mother…Harry…"
"And it doesn't matter anymore, all we can do now is make the pharaoh and the Viking pay for irking me." Morgaine Le Fey strode forward, unflinchingly as if the very thought of her grandson's death didn't faze her in the slightest.
Zev clasped his hands and gave a small prayer for the fallen child, Zatara stared at the back of Morgaine in shock of how she disregarded her grandson's death "How can she be so heartless…"
Zev snorted "She isn't heartless, if anything she is acting with her heart."
"She completely disregarded her grandson's death."
"What is there to regard? The boy is dead, end of story. Want to make a big song and dance out of it? Take it from someone who knows what this feels like, no amount of tears and grief will bring them back, but anger and vengeance are so sweet at that point and are much more preferable actually." Zev told Zatara with a grim smile.
Zatara flinched at Zev's hollow tone, "Does vengeance even help? Isn't such emotions poisonous for one's psyche?"
Zev laughed as he followed the Dark Lady into the library "Spoken like someone who hasn't lost anyone, and if you must know it does help. It is far more satisfying then people around you telling you to let it go. Tell me Zatara what is more poisonous to one's psyche, vengeance or the incessant platitudes by people to 'let it go' or 'revenge isn't the way'."
Zatara and Zev caught up to Morgaine and Mordred who stood before a menacing grate covered in runic symbols of Greek, Hebrew and ancient Egyptian, Morgaine just walked up and pushed the grate open "Intimidation factor of this level doesn't really deter someone competent"
With a wave of her hand the grate swung open, Zatara read the symbols on it. Zev snorted "Nothing but a 'beware sign'…not too bright were they."
They moved inside, Morgaine striding forward without hesitation and as they entered the inner chambers, the sounds of battle became clear and as they walked over the threshold; they stood before a room that was in constant motion. The only thing that didn't seem to move was the 5ft obsidian pyramid floating in the middle of the room. The ground began to swirl around and sections of the floor began to rise and fall randomly; the four of the group were then treated to the sight of a jackal headed warriors slamming Black Adam into a raised section of the floor, slamming him right through it and they seemed to keep going till a cry of "SHAZAM" and a burst of lightning threw the Anubite warriors off.
Morgaine began to float in the air as she gathered her power, an emerald glow spilled from her eyes and hands as she glided before the now scowling Black Adam. Mordred stepped forward to assist his mother but felt as if wading through water and vanished.
Morgaine turned to see her son vanish, but she knew he was safe; so she turned her attention on Adam and an oval shaped energy engulfed the both of them…
.
.
Zatara and Zev were left on their own as they watched the obsidian pyramid glow and then a disc of opaque energy engulfed Mordred following that Morgaine and Adam.
Zev then stated blandly "Well that's convenient!"
Zatara grew wary of the energy exuding from that pyramid but soon kept his focus on finding his daughter and keeping an eye out for Wotan. Both kept their magic ready at the tip of their tongues and not a moment too soon as a creature made of shadow came forth and assaulted both of them.
"Lucidus Aura (Unshadowed Aura)" Zev's first spell caused the shadow to be thrown back as a circular aura of light energy shielded them from being assaulted. Zev showing speed that belied his age attacked "Acer Prima Luce (Piercing First Light)" the thin beam of light that followed ripped the creature's right shoulder and arm off only to reveal something beneath the exterior than froze both men's blood.
The shadow retreated enough from its wound to reveal a catatonic Zatanna that it possessed. Zatara enraged "Release my daughter, demon; renosirp sti morf ti pir, erutaerc siht dnuora ecselaoc thgiL (Light coalesce around this creature, rip it from its prisoner.)"
Zev's eyes hardening as he saw the girl being possessed added his own spell to aid Zatara's "Lautitia ruptis (Lambent rupture)"
The spell Zev used caused anything that glowed to bleed light and soon break apart because of the energy exuded from the spell, which proved very effective here as the creature weakened by Zev's initial assault couldn't keep a hold over its host as Zatara's magic latched on and dragged Zatanna out and then light took her place and adding Zev's own spell to the mix caused a spectacular reaction. Zatara grabbed his daughter and braced himself behind Zev's metallic wall which he transfigured using a piece of the floor.
The Shadow, shrieked in agony a s every part of it began to literally bleed light and soon every bit of its darkness was replaced by glowing light and soon its very form began to distend as it expanded to beyond its original state, still shrieking before releasing the pent up energy in the most volatile and silent explosion ever.
Bathing the room in blinding searing light, Zev and Zatara shut their eyes lest their retinas be burned off from the intense light that reached even behind their cover. Soon they felt the light fade and felt it was safe enough to open their eyes they saw that the explosion released light as sharp burning lines that slashed right down the middle of their cover narrowly missing the both of them.
Zev whistled at the destruction they wrought "Let's not do that again."
"No arguments with me, Master Zev." He then turned to his daughter and breathed in relief as he saw her breathe. "Zatanna, my child wake up."
"Papa…" Zatanna started and then instantly shouted "Get away papa! Get away!" She pushed herself away from her father and kept backtracking away from him.
"Zatanna, calm yourself we drove the creature out of you…" Zatara stepped forward speaking reassurances but Zatanna created a barrier to block him from coming closer.
"You didn't… you just gave it a minor setback…" Zatanna's voice grew darker and her eyes became solid black and an aura of darkness surrounded her creating the same shadow creature that her father and his mentor destroyed mere moments ago.
Zev raised his wand and blasted through Zatanna's barrier throwing the creature back, he soon began to chant in Hebrew causing dots of light to appear and flit around the creature and with a swish of his wand caused a few to pierce through the creature like bullets, the shadow roared and charged at them only for translucent red shield to appear before it; burning it as it slammed into it. The creature roared again and this time opened its maw to release a bolt of dark energy that pierced right through the red shield and exploding throwing both Zatara and Zev off their feet.
Zatara coughed as he pushed himself up "That's new…"
Zev clutched his torso, his ribs bruised but unbroken even as he bled from a scratch on his forehead, his wand raised and ready and stated "Round 2, Fight!"
.

Harry coughed as he pushed himself up, the first strike was impulsive. He had seen Wotan begin some sort of ritual on Zatanna and as dark energy began to seep out of that pyramid, Harry despite Anubis's warnings charged ahead sideswiping Wotan with a Plasma bolt and kept firing hoping to overwhelm Wotan as the Anubites he summoned crashed into Black Adam.
Harry's attack was repulsed just as Black Adam was pushed back, Wotan conjured a shield that began to deflect his attacks and soon began to counter Harry with a cry "ís ágirnd (Ice Greed)"
Harry stood helplessly as the Viking Mage tore past his shields and the spell slammed right into his torso knocking the breath out of him and with a sharp gasp Harry saw the thin coat of ice beginning to form over his skin and clothes, he could feel it working deep within him, effecting his magic and in essence using his magic as fuel to turn him into ice…
He had begun to lose feeling beneath his chest, he saw his breath in the form of mist before his face. He spoke weakly, barely a whisper to Anubis "H-H-Help…"
But there was no answer from his new companion, he turned to the bracelet only to see it and his hand turn into a solid piece of ice.
Harry smiled morosely, 'The second time I'm going to die today… Turning into an ice sculpture, never thought that would happen…'
As Harry turned to ice, Wotan smiled as he walked towards the pyramid but stopped as a voice "Not so fast, favored of Skadi! You can't walk through the desert and conjure ice and snow without gaining my favor!"
Like tinkling bells the ice began to crack as golden energy flowed from Harry's left hand, more specifically the Talon of Horus. Wotan looked on in shock as the energy drew the hieroglyphic of the Eye of Horus inches over the boy's torso causing a pulse of magic to throw him back.
As he steadied himself Wotan looked on as the ice fall away as though it were nothing more than a cocoon flaking away, a fiery Khopesh appeared in the boy's hand and his eyes changed from the green they were to deep gold, telling Wotan one thing that this wasn't a mortal he was facing "Horus"
"Glad to see that even foreigners recognize me still. Draw your blade Norseman, let's see if you are worthy of walking away from here today!" Harry proclaimed as golden energy spread across his frame like flame and garbed him raiment and armor reminiscent of an Egyptian Pharaoh.

Morgaine Le Fay stood now, rage flowing through her.
Not many things could truly enrage her, irritated easily but truly volcanic rage… hurting her son or grandson were on the top of her list. Here before her was one who orchestrated the death of her grandson…volcanic rage doesn't even begin to describe what she was feeling.
Her surroundings were fluid and moving, a myriad of colors before they settled on the solid environment of the desert near the Pyramids of Giza. The Pyramid's shadow falling over her she pondered "Dimensional replica? Highly realistic…"
She drew her hand across the air using her magic to rend it, showing a tear with a myriad colors which promptly sealed shut. Then she turned towards her opponent, Black Adam his hulking form almost overshadowing her own figure but she knew from experience that size doesn't really matter in a battle of magic.
At least not against her…
Black Adam raised an eyebrow "You're far from home Albionite. For what purpose would the Dark Lady of Albion come to Egypt, as loath as I'm to say this but you're infringing on Shazam's territory you kn…"
Anything more that he had to say was stopped by the Morgaine as she unleashed blast of purple energy at Adam. Adam was blasted clear through one of the pyramids the purple energy of her spell exuding outwards chaotically as it caused the top half of the pyramid to explode.
Morgaine eye's glowed a deathly green which was a sharp contrast to the golden mask she wore, she floated up into the air and spoke her voice cold and magically enhanced to reach Adam "I'm here for one thing and one thing alone to kill you and I care not for Shazam's territory because once I'm through with you I'll pay a visit to the decrepit old wizard and I'll make sure he meets you in the afterlife!"
Then from the rubble, Adam's voice rang out "SHAZAM!"
Yellow bolts of lightning exploded outwards from where Adam was buried and as storm clouds began to brew behind him he floated upwards his eye's glowing golden yellow and sparks of electricity arcing around his frame, he posed as a fearsome figure in the now stormy sky.
"You dare!" Black Adam roared as bolts of lightning struck him, but didn't harm him at all only for the lightning to coalesce in balls of electricity that floated around his frame "You dare attack me Teth-Adam! It appears as though you forget your place Sorceress, you are no longer in Albion! You stand before a Pharaoh of Egypt…"
As Adam drew from the storm more power to throw at Morgaine who drew upon dark energies herself, Adam roared out as he attacked "YOU'RE IN MY KINGDOM NOW!"
Hey guys,
I know, I know you wanna skin me alive for taking as long as I have,
But circumstances made it difficult for me to write for a while now, I make no promises that'll I'll update regularly but I'll promise this much none of stories are abandoned it's just taking me a lot longer to get some ideas to work with,
One of my ideas was inspired by megamatt09, he's an excellent writer and great at Harry Potter stories, to not let there be a number in the Harem, of course I'm not gonna pair Harry with every single girl possible but the Harem will be large, he makes it work so I wanna give it a shot…
Oh and this is about a guest review who claimed that I destroyed Morgaine Le Fay by making her a sappy character and that Harry was a weakling; of course I'm not giving the exact words he wrote cause I sorta deleted it and it was ages ago so I kinda forgot what the idiot wrote but I'd like to respond to his idiotic comments nonetheless; One – In which way did I ruin Morgaine Le Fay pray tell, I didn't even get to what I had envisioned for her and for heaven's sake what makes you think she's a good guy now… I certainly never claimed and don't ask me write it down specifically for you; Second – Harry weak?! He's 9 years old! IF you're looking for a super overpowered cliché I suggest you look somewhere else cause I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT YOU THINK YOU'RE ENTITLED TO, I'D RATHER YOU JUST SAY THANK YOU AND BE ON YOUR WAY IF NOT I SUGGEST YOU GET AN ACCOUNT AND THEN POST INSTEAD OF PASSING JUDGEMENTS HAPHAZARDLY!
Now that that's out of the way, hope you guys enjoyed the chapter and please review your thoughts even positive criticisms, if I made a mistake somewhere please inform me I'll be very grateful for your assistance…
PS: a cookie for those who can tell where I got the last part of my rant, it's kinda obvious…
Merry Christmas all… :P
