*~* Hetalia *~*
Kiku quicken his footsteps, clutching the important documents that the student council had worked on for the Homecoming festival in a few weeks. The documents were to be sign off by all the professors involve with the event. Most of the signatures were already gathered with only a few still missing from the culinary department.
It was late afternoon now so Kiku was heading down there since most classes had ended for the day. Many of the students outside were walking out of their classes and heading to either their dorm or a nearby food location.
Gilbird was now happily perched on Kiku's head after almost spending the whole day yesterday trying to escape the dorm room. When the raven haired student had returned from the Jones' residence, he had to explain to his roommate about the little bird. Lukas just shrugged his shoulders and had said that the yellow feather ball hadn't stop chirping till his arrival. Of course Kiku apologized profoundly and even shared some of the desserts given to him by Alfred's brother, Matthew.
Lukas accepted the treat with a small nod.
Now focusing at the task on hand he had to finish this assignment before the meeting with Arthur later on that evening. There was some paperwork and plans to be discussed for the event in a few weeks. Arthur had insisted that his input was necessary since it was a large project to coordinate.
Checking the map given to him with the campus layout, he looked down at it as he walked down the pavement, trying to figure out where to head to next.
All of the sudden something rammed into him full force from behind knocking him off balance.
The papers he had been holding flew out of his hands, hazardously scattering in every direction.
A loud cracking noise was heard with an 'umph' afterwards.
Kiku fell hard face first. The throbbing of the injury subsided slightly as little stars started dancing in front of his vision with an object painfully poking him in the stomach. To make it worse, a heavy figure was had all their weight on him as if he was a bean bag chair.
"You broke my laptop da-ze!" the figured yelled.
"Well you just ruin the documents I was going to deliver!" Kiku scolded irritably, lifting himself off the floor while trying to push off the student away. With some care, he tried not to further crush the object which now he knew was a laptop underneath him. The papers were defiantly going to be at the very least bend and wrinkled.
Blinking away any stray stars still in his vision he squint to see who had literally smash into him like a bus. He saw a skateboard that was laying a feet away from him, upside down with its wheels still moving in circles.
"And who even uses their laptop while they skate?!" Kiku asked more in annoyance than anything, forgetting to bite his tongue. Really, this guy had already gotten on his nerves, something that haven't happened in a long time.
This student is just so unpleasant.
"Well you're not pleasant yourself, da-ze."
Kiku glared at the student in an effort to try to cover up his slip of the tongue. He didn't know he had accidently spoken out his thoughts. He needed to calm down, this was not the way to behave.
"Im Yong!" Another male in the distance called out which presumably was the student still on top of him.
The skater stood up to dust off his uniform only stopping to examine the tore pants at the knees before reaching back to retrieve his skateboard. At full height, the student hovered over Kiku.
"You owe me a laptop." The student by the name of Im Yong jabbed a finger at Kiku's chest.
"Don't you dare blame this on me!" countered out Kiku who was still trying to get up from the ground.
"Im Yong didn't I told you to wait for me, I know we're late to class but—?" The other male stopped midsentence as he observe the scene before him.
"Aniki! This fool just broke my laptop!" Kiku sharply turned his face towards Im Yong, narrowing his eyes at the false statement.
Yao, the student that Im Yong was complaining to must have been in a hurry to class but stopped and looked passed Im Yong to stare at Kiku. Before another word could be utter by any, Kiku eyes grew huge in realization of what happened to the documents. Ignoring the other two males completely, Kiku scrambled to gather all the loose papers that had unfortunately landed in mud where the grass had just been watered earlier.
All the papers had the unfortunate fate of getting mud stains and water dripping from them. Kiku's face fell into a miserable expression, loss of words.
But a chirping interrupted the scene and Kiku looked up to see Gilbird clutching a lone piece of document that had the professor's signatures on it. Kiku almost melted into pure relief, seeing that the most important paper had been saved.
"Are you ok aru?"
Turning to the side, Kiku saw Yao extending his hand out. Taking his hand, he was pulled up and stood before him.
"…thank you." Kiku looked to see the skater huffing angrily at him, his broken laptop in his hand.
"Yao, this little shrimp broke my laptop and all you have to say is if he's ok?!"
The student name Yao ignored the little outburst. "Im Yong you have a warranty on that machine, we'll pass by the store department later." He said easily as he wrote something on a small square card taken out from his bag. "Kiku why didn't you tell me you were also attending this university? Unfortunately I need to go to class but I would like to see you again to catch up, you've grown so much aru!"
Kiku stood there confused as he was handed the piece of paper with a phone number, some scribbles on it, and the name Yao Wang. Who was this guy?
With a pat on the head from Yao, he pulled Im Yong along as he waved goodbye. Im Yong glared at Kiku as he was being pulled away.
"I'm very confuse Gilbird…" Kiku muttered, glancing at the phone number. Who was this person and how did he know his name?
Shoving the phone number in his pocket, Kiku picked up the rest of the muddy documents and gave them a good shake. At least the document with the signatures was safe.
'But now I have to go and redo the rest of the documents…' thought Kiku as he walked towards the culinary building, ignoring the slight pain on his knees.
When he arrived at the building, Kiku apologized to the professors left to sign off the documents. One of the younger professors simply signed the documents and told Kiku not to worry about such trivial things.
With a slight bow, Kiku thanked the young professor and went to get the rest of the signatures. In fifteen minutes he had completed his task and was heading upstairs where he'd hope there was a good place to rest and maybe munch on his late lunch. Back in Japan where he had attended high school there was always places to rest at the rooftop, so he was curious if they had anything similar here.
To his surprise there was someone already who he knew.
A blond student took a long inhale of smoke before blowing it out softly up the air. Little swirls of smoke visibly floated making an intriguing pattern.
Kiku just stared at the odd particles reminding him of escaping clouds. He saw how Abel's face seem to be in some deep thought, probably just worried about upcoming midterms.
Fidgeting with the small lunch he'd prepared using the student's kitchen lounge earlier that day, Kiku decided it was best to not bother Abel. He could just find another spot to eat before heading to the meeting. Maybe he could just munch on his lunch while heading to the building where the council was and get a head start on his reading for next week's agenda.
Just as he decided to turn back, a heavy shadow casted over Kiku startling him. Glancing up, Kiku saw Abel looking down at him with a slight upward twitch on his lips, his eyes softening at the sight of the shorter student.
"You know Kiku, if you plan on staring, just ask to seat next to me…I don't bite."
"A-Abel-san!" Kiku yelped, his hands coming up to close his mouth in embarrassment almost dropping his lunch in the process. Abel just kept his eyes on the smaller student in chaste amusement.
"Cute."
As he motion for Kiku to take a seat he noticed a red line on the smaller student's cheek.
"What happened on your cheek…and your knee?" Abel asked accusingly, already getting down on one knee to see the small bleeding scrape behind the torn fabric of the pants. The blood had yet to dry up.
"Someone bumped in to me and we fell over…but it's not too bad, I just noticed the scratch now to be honest. I'll head out to the infirmary center to get some bandages—"
A low tsk was heard, before Kiku even knew it he was being held in Abel's arms, bridal style. So much blood went straight to his face at such a speed that Kiku really wondered if it was even healthy.
'Abel is going to think I'm such a clumsy person!'
"N..no I can walk on my own!" Kiku shrieked, hiding his face on Abel's shoulder. The Dutch student ignored the embarrassed raven boy in favor of turning around and heading back to a makeshift sort of bench. Sitting Kiku on it gently, Abel reached for his school bag on the ground.
Abel searched inside until he found his small first aid kit. With care, he took an antiseptic wipe from a package and started to clean the wound.
"Kiku you need to take care of yourself." He chided, dabbing on the wound with the cloth.
Gilbird chirped as if agreeing reminding Kiku that the bird was still nestle on his hair.
"I'm not a kid…" Kiku just pouted, resigned to letting the other student fix his wound. It was better than him actually being taken to the infirmary office in his friend's arms.
"Well start behaving as an adult, I can't date a kid." Abel stated nonchalantly. Kiku gaped at Abel, feeling that the taller student was now straight up teasing him.
"For your information, I am an adult."
Abel just hummed, already working on dabbing the wound on the cheek. Peeling off the bandage, which in fact had pink bunnies on it, he placed it over the scrape on Kiku's flustered cheek.
"You can't ignore me…" Kiku huffed under his breath.
Swiftly, Abel took the chance to give the now bandaged wound a quick peck.
"Abel-san!"
"Hmm…seems I missed my target." Abel teased.
Once again he leaned towards Kiku's face, their noses brushing lightly. Kiku's brown eyes just stared at Abel, in innocence with curiosity and an underline of anticipation. The soft scent of cigarette still lingered between them, intoxicating Kiku for a moment.
"Yo Abel!"
Coming towards them was Mathias with a huge grin on his face. Abel stood up to glare at the other student's timing.
"What is it?"
"Pshh, have you taken your dose yet? You look extra grumpy today!" Mathias joked, laughing at the now seething Dutch student. Noticing Kiku sitting next to Abel, Mathias happily plopped next to him. "Kiku! What are you doing up here, did the big bad scary wolf kidnapped you?"
The supposedly 'scary wolf' raised his leg to give Mathias a nice kick to the face but instead was meet with an arm catching his leg mid-way. Mathias smirk before he tug at the suspended leg down making Abel lose his balance thus collapsing unfortunately on the other student who probably didn't think this through.
Kiku just stared at the two taller students struggling to either get off from each other or strangle each other, it was hard to tell when Mathias just kept laughing at the whole ordeal.
"Keep that pose, its perfect!" Yelled someone from the sidelines, surprising all three boys. Snapping sounds were heard as two individuals took pictures with their cameras.
"Elizabeta, Natalya?" asked Kiku from where he was still sitting, forgetting about the two students still at each other throats and in a tangle mess.
"Yes! This is perfect." Elizabeta cheered as she clapped her hands together in joy.
"They hate each other but they fuck each other as well." Natalya muttered nonchalantly.
The two boys froze at that comment. Kiku couldn't stop his face from turning red at such vulgar thoughts from the platinum haired student.
Abel glared at Natalya for even uttering such an embarrassing sentence. Pushing himself up he turned to look down at Mathias before flinging him over his shoulder, even though both were probably around the same size, and slammed his poor body into a nearby metallic pipe.
"Do not use me as one of your victims for your hobby. Use this idiot all you want but I want no part on it." Abel warned without even batting an eye at the now unconscious Danish student.
Elizabeta brushed off the warning as if it was nothing. Instead a grin started to formed making Abel on edge. "Hmm I don't think you have a choice. Your younger siblings seemed interested in becoming members of this club next year. Should I have adorable little Emma and cute little Noah on campus for an interview? Maybe they can be on next week's article about swimsuits~"
Abel wasn't too worry for Noah since he was still in high school but Emma was a freshman at this college. He had known that Elizabeta had befriended her so Emma was probably thinking on signing up for the Photography Club. Well whatever Elizabeta called that club anyways since it had very questionable purposes.
Grudgingly Abel accepted for the sake of keeping his younger siblings out of Elizabeta's mischievous hobbies.
"Don't worry Abel, you're in good hands! Oh by the way you should take your unconscious buddy to the infirmary." Elizabeta pointed out where the motionless body was. Kiku was already there checking to see if Abel hadn't accidently killed Mathias, again.
"So you've been watching me then?" he stated already regretting accepting the offer.
Sighing in annoyance, Abel once again threw Mathias over his shoulder, grabbing his school bag on the way, and walked towards the infirmary. Before leaving he waved goodbye at Kiku ignoring the two females.
"Well that was fun. Natalya do you have the pictures?" asked Elizabeta as she swiped off invisible sweat from her forehead. She received a nod from Natalya. "Good, we need a mix of students for this upcoming festival. I will not lose to Mei."
Kiku's head just tilted in confusion wondering what the intentions of the two females was.
Not far away violet eyes stared with interest. Something told him that the small student would be a splendid next target.
Omake:
"I can't believe you hurled me into a metal pipe!" whined Mathias after regaining conscious at the infirmary's room. Abel sat at one of the empty chairs looking at some old magazines. Mathias was finishing signing off some papers so he could be let out.
"You're lucky I didn't bury your ass at some dumpster."
"So mean Abel! Now I have a bruised back. What am I going to tell the captain later when we meet up at practice?" Mathias pouted afterwards seeing that Abel wasn't even paying attention. "Should I go and tell Ralph, oh Abel suddenly felt the need to push my body at a nearby solid object and because he was being too rough on me he ended up bruising my back— oh. "
Abel finally looked up when Mathias stopped talking.
"That's exactly what I'm going to tell the captain. I'd rather have him yell at you than at me. You bruise me up and now you'll take responsibility."
Abel scowled at the excuse Mathias had just come up, reevaluating how he had phrase it a second ago. "You're excuse makes me sound as if I pushed you against the wall for another reason." He accused, his scowl deepening.
"Exactly."
A/N: Writing this chapter made me realize I just fell for a ship I didn't even know I like, like what even lol.
OMG at the campus I go, there are always students on skateboards going to classes. They literally pass by you with a centimeter of space as if it was nothing. I'm afraid someone is going to crash into me one of these days.
Anyways, uhm this chapter took me forever to write I don't even know why. I've been rewriting this since last December and kept editing it and saving it in my drafts. It has collected so much pretend dust that when I opened the document I sneezed nonstop.
Yao Wang = China
Im Young Soo =
Emma Morgens = Belgium
Noah Morgens= Luxembourg
(OMG I couldn't find a human name for Luxembourg not even fan made. So I decided to search the internet and found Noah to be a good fit. )
Hopefully this longer chapter makes up for the wait, maybe? I am thankful for all the reviews on this story even during the long hiatus, so I really want to continue this even through the writer block I have. The story should be taking shape soon. Yay new characters~
