Piercing my skin, the tom's claws went deep into my pelt as he clung onto my back, a triumphant attempt to take me down in front of the three Clans, who were still speechless after hearing a fox scold them about breaking the warrior code. The black tom, who had been the one to speak out multiple times, had not taken my size into account when he attacked me, and, no one else came to his aid, in fear of punishment from their Clan leaders, who were still processing everything.

"Leafstorm!" Streamfrost exclaimed, her and my two brothers coming to my side, waiting for my call for their assistance, though it was not needed. Using my weight and the tom's flailing to my advantage, I forced him off my back, throwing him forward. Before he had to time to collect himself, I used my paw to put pressure on his wind pipe, pinning him onto his back in front of everyone and blocking his air flow. He struggled beneath my weight, but I was much stronger so he didn't stand a chance.

"Just kill me and get it over with," He snarled, through fits of coughs, spitting in my face. Looking at his face, I could tell that he was a very young warrior, barely more than an apprentice. All of my pent up anger coursed through me, the fresh thought of Stormfoot's murder clouding my mind.

"I could," I hissed, loud enough for everyone to hear. "You've all mercilessly murdered my Clan mates," I bit my tongue, fighting back tears. "And my brother, Stormfoot. Why shouldn't I take this warrior's life for compensation? It's a sliver compared to what you put WindClan through." I growled.

"Mangy fox," some of the cats muttered, along with other insults that were meant to hurt me emotionally. All it succeeded in doing was making me even more furious, adding more weight onto the tom's chest, causing him to cough and wheeze. If I do this, I'm no better than them.

"No more warrior blood needs to be spilled." I told the leaders, making eye contact with each one. "I'll grant this warrior the mercy that you failed to grant my brother, Stormfoot" I offered, taking a little weight off of the tom's windpipe, allowing him to breathe a little easier. "Leave the WindClan camp in peace, and allow them to return to their territory without harm.

"Why should we do that?" Snowstar scowled, the first of the leaders to speak.

"If the code means as much to you as it should, you will stop this at once." I hissed, annoyed with their stubbornness, I put more pressure on the tom's neck, making him cough in pain. "WindClan has StarClan on its side." I added.

"RiverClan will return home." Wetstar stepped forward, announcing the retreat to his whole Clan. They began to gather, waiting for their leader to guide them. When he leaped down from the high rock, he padded to me and dipped his head in respect. "You say Snowfall spoke to you?" His ears perked up.

"Yes." I nodded. "When I was an apprentice."

"She was always a very caring cat," he chuckled, locking eye contact with me. "Many moons ago, Snowfall was my sister," he explained. "If she says StarClan has accepted you, RiverClan will have no objection."

"Thank you," I nodded, my heart pounding. His eyes shifted to the tom at my paws.

"Are you ready to go, Reefblaze?" he purred amusingly. I released the warrior, who shook the dirt off his pelt angrily and bolted as far from me as he could to join his Clanmates.

"ShadowClan will also leave." Pinestar called, his voice booming through the almost empty camp. "The fox is right; enough blood has been spilled, and for nothing."

"Not so fast!" Snowstar snarled as the warriors began shuffling out. "That's it? After all this, we are just going to walk away?"

"I will not stand against StarClan, will you?" Pinestar raised his eyebrow. When she didn't respond, Pinestar vaulted to join his Clan mates and led them away without another word, leaving only the ThunderClan cats and what was left of the WindClan prisoners.

"Take your Clan mates home, Snowstar." Jaystar told her. I had been too busy speaking to the leaders, that I failed to see just how bad my leader's wounds were. Blood was spurting from his deep slashes, the pools of scarlet now dripping over the edge of the high rock.

"Let's go, ThunderClan." Snowstar sighed, defeated. She jumped down, facing me with her cold, blue eyed stare. "If you get out of line, fox," she spat threateningly.

"I won't." I assured her without blinking, holding her challenging stare. She finally broke away, padding to the front of her Clan and we watched as she took the last of the hostile warriors away.

"Thank StarClan you showed up when you did!" Shadeheart purred at last, nuzzling my neck affectionately, which cause Stoneshde and Streamfrost to join in.

"We missed you, you fur-ball!" Stoneshade laughed, shoving me playfully.

"How did you know?" Streamfrost asked, tilting her head curiously. "Did StarClan really send you?"

"No," I told them truthfully. "Cloudpaw did."

"Cloudpaw?" Stoneshade frowned. "We thought he was dead. He managed to get away when we were captured, but his wounds were very serious."

"He almost didn't make it to me." I shook my head sadly. "But he did. He told me everything, and pleaded for my help. As soon as I heard about Stormfoot," I trailed off, unsure what to say to them. I felt as if someone were clawing my insides. "If I had been there,"

"Don't talk like that." Hazelmoss, who was supporting her father's weight mewed. "There is nothing that you could have done to stop them from doing what they did."

"He died like a true warrior, defending your honour," Stoneshade told me. "He wouldn't have wanted it any other way."

"There is a lot of work that has to be done." Streamfrost sighed, looking around the deserted camp. The dens hadn't been kept up, so they were pretty beaten up. A little work and they would be good as new.

"I know just where we can get the help," I grinned, wrapping my tail around my paws. My kids were sitting next to Hazelmoss. Cedar was looking around his old home sadly, and Kai was looking around in wonder, and perhaps faint recognition.

"Where are we, Leafstorm?" Kai asked finally, staring at the cats with wild eyes.

"This is WindClan, Kai," I purred, shifting my gaze around so I could take it all in. I never thought I would ever see this place ever again. "Welcome home."
