Chapter 1 Hopes transfer

"Hey look it's the new kid." a kid with blonde hair said to one of his friends.

I ignored them and continued to walk, except they tripped me.

"Watch where your stepping wuss!" the same kid mockingly demanded.

"Sorry I was just leaving." I said nervously.

"Oh no you weren't" said his black-haired guy.

"You're the new transfer student aren't you?" The blonde almost accused.

"Y-yea." I shifted trying to get away.

The blonde pinned me against a locker "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that. You should speak up when your elders are talking to you."

Just then two guys came our direction. One was blond and also had a trench coat. The other was brown-haired, and had a black jacket.

"Hey Seifer, picking on the new kid huh? Not even the end of the week, and you need to be put in your place." Said the other blond

"Ahh man Seifer we're caught y'know?"

"Shut up!" Seifer directed it to his friend.

"Hey kid my names Snow, you OK?" The taller blond asked.

I just shook my head scared about my current situation of being pinned to the locker.

"I'm not telling you what to do Seifer, but starting off the new school year this way won't look too good." Snow half-warned.

"Fine" he dropped me "but just hope he doesn't stumble in my territory."

Just then an athletic looking kid came from no where and helped me up. "Don't worry about them."

That is how I met them. They all introduced themselves to me. Gadot, has been a long time friend of Snow's, Tidus had a record for the best Blitzball player to attend high school, and Snow has been one to help people along the way. I transferred to this school after my parents died.

The four of us walked to Snow's car.

"Snow got any plans later tonight?" Gadot asked.

"I actually do" Snow smiled "Sarah and I have plans to hang out."

"Going on a date." Tidus teased.

"No, we're just hanging out." Snow retaliated

"Are you sure it isn't the same thing with the two of you?" Gadot butted in.

"Do I need to tackle you again?" Snow half threatened.

Gadot laughed "Calm down lover boy."

"Yeah, anyways Hope did you need a ride or is your parents picking you up?" Snow offered.

I stiffened up at this "N-no, I just walk home."

"Hmm, well if they're busy I'm sure I can drop you off if you want."

"OK." I hid my tears as we made it to the blue sports car.

"Where's your pad at?" Snow asked as he unlocked his car.

"The apartments on the other side of town." I tried to keep a normal voice.

"Cool that's right by my place. I can drop you off with the rest of the guys. If you want I can even pick you up." Snow exclaimed.

Just then another guy walked up "Hey."

"It's about time you got here Squall!" Tidus whined.

Squall didn't say anything and as he got in, everyone followed suit, and Snow offered me front. I didn't care so I took it. We starded driving off. Everyone conversed about things they did during the summer either with friends as they relived memories, or trips they took with their families. I started to tear up, but held it in. a few minutes passed before Tidus got out and waved. It was more silent in the car, although the other two did sort of talk. With everyone living so close together, it wasn't long before Squall got out.

Snow talked to me a little bit, not trying to inquire about a lot. Most of what he asked was about what I did for summer and in turn he let me know a little about his life. I looked out the window and did my best to hide my tears. I didn't want him to see, I didn't want anyone to see, but all the stories I heard were more than I could handle after such a short time. I couldn't muffle my crying anymore.

Hearing me, Snow looked over "Hope, you alright?"

"Y-yea" I said through a shaky voice.

"If you ever need to talk to me, let me know. I just want to make sure you aren't hurt."

"I'm f-fine. Don't worry about it." I said with sorrow.

"Alright, well we're here anyways." he shut the car off and walked me to the door.

I was still fighting the stream of tears that kept coming, so Snow knocked on the door.

"Hello, can I help you?" Yuna was puzzled.

I ran to my room and slammed the door on accident.

"Snow Villers." as he offered a hand.

"Yuna." she returned the handshake and offered him in "What happened, and would you like some coffee?" Yuna asked.

"Sure, and I don't exactly know." the blonde admitted.

I was in my room crying like I did whenever they were brought up. After fifteen minutes I decided to do some homework, which was mostly pre-calculus. I need it for mechanics, although I am pretty good as is, to go higher up I need strong mathematical bases. After that I just started to doze off trying to imagine what would have happened if they were still alive

"So I have you and the other to thank for his rescue?" asked Yuna.

"If you want to. Seifer is always starting trouble with his two friends, But Fujin was gone today. Squall, Tidus, and I are appointed by The Headmaster to keep an eye on him. Normally security takes care of everything, but since he gets tied up sometimes it makes it difficult. They only made an exception because Squall will be heading into the military. He's been exceptional already with the entrance exam into the academy, Tidus is part of our little group so he helps us out. Then me, I come from a difficult background but least to say Cid has thought I could help out."

"Well to say thank you how would you like to come over for dinner Friday, with the other two of course?"

"Uhh I wouldn't mind, but I'll ask the others tomorrow. Anyways, I should be going."

"Ok, take care." Yuna said as she led him to the door. "Thank you again. He has trouble standing up to people, and making friends."

Snow nodded while smiling and left.

There was a knock on my door "Hope can I come in?"

It was Yuna. After my parents died that summer Yuna went to study at Zanarkand University. She wanted to take care of me since I had no other family. Even before then, we were good friends, and now she is like a older sister.

"Yeah." I mumbled.

"How are you? Felling ok?"

"Not really."

"Well Snow told me everything that happened at school."

"It wasn't my fault, I didn't even do anything. Why does it have to happen to me?" I fumbled over my words.

"I don't know Hope. But Snow said he would watch out for you. Also he and the other two will probably be coming over Friday."

"Ok." I said simply. I probably should have been more grateful, but I wasn't feeling good.

"Would you like to talk about anything?"

"No."

"Ok. Oh and Snow said to meet him in the cafeteria in the corner table for lunch."

"Alright."

"Well I am going to make dinner. Any special requests?"

"No, whatever you make will be fine."

"Ok I will be done in half an hour."

Later the next day...

After second period the next day I met Snow, Squall, Tidus, and two others who looked like sisters at the table. Snow and Tidus waved as did the other shorter girl.

"Hey champ, I've got two others I would like to introduce you to. This is my girlfriend Serah."

"How are you?" She asked excitedly

The other girl looked annoyed by the girlfriend statement.

"And her older sister Cal-"

"Lightning." She said interrupting Snow.

"Anyway if you need any help you can count on these guys." offered Tidus.

"Hey we'll be back wait here. Tidus, Squall come on."

"Alright Snow." said Tidus.

Squall simply followed without a word.

"So Hope, how are you?" asked Serah.

"Fine, I guess."

"Is it because of Seifer? Don't let him bother you, Snow, Lightning, or Squall will be able to handle him."

"Besides if he causes trouble I'll put him in his place, so if you need him beat let me know." offered lightning.

It gave me a small smile, but a smile non-the-less. Serah noticed this and smiled as well. Lightning was happy to see her sister chipper then normal, but didn't let it show. Just at that time the three came back each carrying two trays which had hot dogs and other school food on them.

"Snow you didn't have to!" Serah complained.

"Non-sense it's no problem, especially for you." replied Snow.

"Hope, I've got you a tray." offered Tidus nearly tripping.

"Thanks." I replied with a chuckle

Squall didn't say anything as he left a tray in front of Lightning who just nodded.

As we ate there was some talk, but not which I joined for the most part. They all talked about past experiences, and what-not and eventually I finished my food and just listened to the others. I must have been daydreaming for a while, and Serah noticed "Hope, are you ok?" she said with concern.

"I'm fine just a little tired. Why?"

"You kinda started to mumble an-" Snow elbowed him.

I realized what happened, started to get up, but Serah stopped me "Hope, we understand. Please stay." I could see the pain in her eyes so I did.

By this time, everyone had empty trays in front of them and Snow cracked a grin "Right, I almost forgot to mention something. Yuna who is Hope's sister offered to have us over this Friday. Does anyone have plans otherwise?"

Lightning and Squall looked at each other, then Lightning responded "Squall and I will have training exercises at 0430 Saturday."

"Alright, well if that's it I think we can make a compromise to not be out too late. Hope would you let Yuna know?"

"Uhh yeah, sure thing."

So this is a revamped chapter to this story. I will pretty much be re-writing it because I don't like how I started it. This was originally started 4 years ago while I was still in high school, and I think I might have been a bit dramatic with some of the scenes. So I'm hoping I can do a better job with the structure as well. So I will actually be taking down the other chapters down, but I will archive them in case anyone wants me to continue how I was initially going with it.
