Greetings! I have returned with a new chapter which I have changed just the title a bit and the story, some of you maybe wondering 'When is it going to be updated?' And I apologize for the wait.

THE CONFRONTATION AND IN TO THE CHALLENGE

Astrid stares in the eyes before her, the one thing that can start a barrier between not only the person that saved the lives of his village but also had shown her something beautiful and open her eyes to a world from a different view. Toothless, being only of his kind to be seen by human eyes, a dragon with a purpose of keeping someone important to himself but the problem stopping him from doing so is the same problem before him.

Astrid shakes her head in disbelief, crossing her arms and turning away like she told a joke.

"What am I doing? I'm going to try to reason with a dragon. I would have better chances with the twins"

Toothless remains motionless but the growling starts as he takes it as an offence. Was she implying that talking to Toothless was a joke? That he would be stupid to understand? Dragons are known for intelligence in which some are not but Toothless learned body language from Hiccup. He can understand him even if it is words he can not perhaps it is why he belongs only to Hiccup and will always.

She notices Toothless starting to get antsy and turns back towards him with the same stare into his eyes as before.

"Toothless, I am not here to tell you that I want to separate you and Hiccup. I would never want that besides Hiccup cares for you too much"

Cares? Well that's a given. Toothless holds back his growl from getting any louder and watches her as if she would pull a dagger at any moment.

"I am just concerned about what is going on with Hiccup. The love between a dragon and a human is strong but not how it should be. It should be like family and nothing more. One day it won't just be you and Hiccup, there will be someone else with him. Someone he will need by his side that is the same as him."

Astrid reaches her hand forward to rest it upon Toothless but he moves away from her. She closes her eyes briefly, inhaling once like she just gave her nice speech everything she got.

Her eyes open upon speaking again "Toothless, I am just asking you to understand. Hiccup is human not a Dragon. What goes on between you two isn't natural, try to remember that before Hiccup can't decide what is right anymore"

Astrid turns away and leaves down the steps while Toothless stays where he is. Haven't we heard this same, tedious, speech before? Humans should stay with humans and dragons with their own. It is the same thing over again that has Toothless wishing he could change it. It is unnatural for a dragon and human but love conquers everything. Can flourish and die at the same time, turn beautiful then ugly really fast but there is no limit to it. Doesn't have a voice saying that you cannot use me to be with something or someone that shouldn't be together. If it makes you feel like you cannot live without, you will fight for it.

She thinks she has scared Toothless in to backing away from Hiccup? No. She will not try to decide what is best for Hiccup, she does not make his choices in life that is for him to decide. She will try to change his mind but Toothless was not going to give up and let her win, he is taking this as a permanent challenge.

Toothless awaits the return of Hiccup in his room, resting in his bed. The sounds of steps coming up alerts him that he jumps out of his bed. Hiccup opens the door, setting down a number of things beside his bed before getting jumped by Toothless.

"Hey bud, I missed you all day. Why didn't you come?" Hiccup laughs while Toothless makes sounds like he is telling him his whole day.

"Why don't we get ready for bed and I'll show you what you missed today" Toothless sits patiently watching Hiccup as he changes clothing then sits once again. He pets his head in response before grabbing his book showing Toothless details on new training ideas.

Toothless sticks close to Hiccup while he talks, staying against him that he even ends up leering over and behind Hiccups backside. Hiccup does not notice the strange position till he is almost laying on his stomach and stops talking about the training.

"This is…a little uncomfortable" Hiccup is pushed a little forward again till he is on his stomach, Toothless still against him. Hiccup squirms to get the book free from under him, he jolts a little when Toothless makes a weird sound. Hiccup freezes feeling something hard against his bottom that he doesn't know what but can only guess what it is.

Was it Toothless's….? Hiccup has never seen genitals of a dragon nor would he really ever need to see them unless identifying gender but that was never an issue. Hiccup is frozen still unsure of what to do. It felt big. BIG. It was kind of scary that Hiccup just laid there, wondering as he always did with Toothless of what he was planning and going to do. Hiccup turns his head back to look but Toothless's head rests beside his preventing his head from turning. Toothless proceeds to push a little and earn a small sound from Hiccup like a gasp. Toothless does not know if the sound was good or bad and proceeds to do it again and again, each time earning a sound from Hiccup.

'Why does this happen when we are alone?'

Hiccup wonder but it trails off the more Toothless is pushing against him with that big thing against his bottom. It keeps rubbing through the shorts Hiccup has on and pushing harder in to certain regions of his body.

Hiccup is not thinking anymore, letting his mind take it all in at the moment and Toothless realizes that sound and motion. He goes a little rougher with pushing, Hiccup is moved a little forward and placed one hand on the wood floor to keep himself steady. His breathing gets rougher and a little louder but it does not make Toothless stop only makes him do the same. It does not take long before Toothless stops moving and they both remain as they are in that position, catching their breath. Hiccup is feeling his shorts wet from something on both the bottom and underneath him when Toothless lifts off him is when he turns over to look down at the mess on him.

Toothless looks worried at him but Hiccup just smiles, placing a kiss on him and patting him.

"That's enough for now, Bud. Tomorrow is an early day for training" Hiccup gets up and changed his clothing again and waits for Toothless to lay down before climbing in his own.

"Goodnight, Toothless"

An early day at the academy starts as everyone lines up beside each other and looking tired as ever. Hiccup looks at them with Toothless behind him like he is waiting for a miracle to happen.

"Well this is no different from every morning training. I hope you all have eager faces on today" Hiccup smiles watching majority of them except for Astrid and Fishlegs, roll their eyes.

"This is every morning?"

"Snotlout, we do this every morning and for a while now"

"Yeah but haven't you guys heard of beauty sleep?"

"It doesn't count when your ugly" The twins snort and giggle earning a grunt and push back from Snotlout, they get knocked back into Fishlegs and Astrid.

"Hey! Watch it!" Astrid pushes back using Fishlegs as leverage that Snotlout is the first to tumble over.

Hiccups watches them turn in to a scramble pile while Astrid is the only one on her feet, notices Hiccup sighing and pulls them apart.

"Knock it off. We have training to do"

"Thank you, Astrid" A smile and a glance at each other for a minute, sends jealousy down Toothless.

"Yeah, take his side Astrid. Just because he's your boyfr-Ow!" Astrid cuts off Snoutlout with a punch to his arm and a glare, the twins snort again.

"Are you guys done? I have a new system I want to try" Hiccup throws a long roll that looks like a scroll it goes past the others.

"I want to test this out. Lessen the time need to help save people in trouble and time wasted, this is for safety purposes mostly. Everyone will have to buddy up for this to practice while facing common obstacles and delays"

Snotlout quickly shifts, arm around Astrid "Me and you, Astrid. We make a good team"

Astrid quickly rejects Snotlout pushing him into Fishlegs "There's your partner. I'm with Hiccup"

Snotlout sighs hard and loud and Astrid makes her way over to Hiccup who is preparing items.

At the cliff near the water is where they stand and Hiccup goes over any instructions needed. The first round instructs that one person is to have their back facing the water and their 'trusted partner' must push them off the cliff while acting quickly to aid. Fun right?

"Is he trying to kill us?"

"How is this any different from what you do everyday?" Astrid gives a look of annoyance before lining up before Hiccup.

"Everyone ready? Remember you must rely on your partner" Hiccup nods at the others and Astrid before she pushes him off the edge.

It was hard for Toothless to watch Hiccup fall because of it happening before and he can't do anything but idle by waiting for his rider to return. It also is giving Astrid alone time with Hiccup which Toothless is not happy about, not at all. Astrid does as instructed with her dragon and helping Hiccup with ease before looking back at the others struggling to even keep themselves on the dragons. She lands back on the cliff, relaxing with Hiccup and waiting for the others to return but it is only fuelling that jealousy of Toothless more.

Switching roles comes shortly after the rest of the gang is back on the cliff and Hiccup nudges Astrid off as she did to him. He quickly jumps on Toothless, darting down and gliding, catching her just before she hits the water. She dangles from the claws of Toothless while smiling up at them but mostly Hiccup. This is igniting that jealously of Toothless in to an open flame that he lets Astrid slip, not opening his claws wide open just enough so her hands slip through. Astrid lets out a gasp when she realizes she is falling and it alerts Hiccup.

"Toothless!" Hiccup is pulling back to get him to change course to quickly help Astrid from her current situation of falling but Toothless lets out a displeasing sound and does not slow down. Toothless sees the worry and anger brewing in Hiccups eyes of him disobeying, making him groan this time before darting down and catching Astrid just above the water. They quickly land where the others are watching in just excitement. Astrid remains on her knees and catching her breath when Hiccup comes up beside her, arm on her shoulder and asking if she is okay. Astrid nods, showing no signs of injuries and looks towards Toothless.

She turns her gaze to Hiccup again giving him a kiss on his lips, Hiccup smiles back at her before they look to the sound of Toothless taking off.

"I'm sorry, Astrid. Toothless is not himself today, he usually doesn't make mistakes or doesn't listen"

"I'm sure he is okay" Astrid's face stays neutral before cracking a smile when Hiccup looks at her but his expressions stay in worry.

Hiccup returns home in search for Toothless shortly after the gang goes home. Hiccup searching the home and his room for Toothless but he is not there. Hiccup calls out for him, looking out the window from his room and to the roof where Toothless has his tail hanging down.

"There you are, bud. Toothless, I am sorry if I yelled a little but it is unlike you to slip up. I am not sure if you are acting like this on purpose." Hiccup keeps trying to reason with him but gets not even a sound from Toothless. He apologizes more before closing the window and laying down in his bed. Toothless stays on the roof, going from angry to sad quickly and soon returns inside in his bed.

The next morning arrives bright, the light once again, shining on Hiccups face. A knock on the door that comes quickly, wakes him up and as he sits up, Astrid enters the room.

"Good morning Hiccup, Toothless"

"Hey, Astrid. What brings you here early? Training doesn't start for hours" Hiccup yawns most of his words while he stretches and Astrid gives a small chuckle.

"Your dad let me in. I just wanted to thank you for helping me yesterday"

"It was nothing to thank me for, Astrid. It's part of the training but I guess sudden reality situations can give more experience" Hiccup stands up as Astrid pulls a book from behind her back.

"Well, I wanted to say thanks anyways so I got up an hour early and got some new notes on other dragons that you haven't got a lot of information on yet" Astrid smiles as Hiccups eyes light up a bit more on excitement.

"You didn't have to do that"

"I wanted too. I know I am difficult but I wanted to show you that I like you too." Astrid places a kiss on Hiccup before turning towards the open door.

"I'll see you that training later and don't be late" Hiccup nods and smiles at his book in his hands while skimming through the new notes.

Oh, how she is not making this easy for Toothless but this is only the beginning of this war she is starting. She may have Hiccups attention now but it does not mean she has a sure victory in her sights. She wants to play dirty by bringing gifts to Hiccup then so be it. Toothless can play this game too but it just means he has to step up his game and top some few 'notes' on dragons. Toothless knows what Hiccup likes as well but giving gifts to get someone to like you is more over played than ever. He might even have to go better than gifts but to figure out what.

Over the next few days, Toothless will have to figure out what he can do to stick it to Astrid and make Hiccup forget about her stupid gift.

Even if it requires pleasure.
