Sinking Ship

"Daniel," she whispers in his ear. She feeds him lies, asks him questions she already knows the answer to. This woman continues to play him – from the moment they met until now. Contrary to popular belief, Daniel Grayson is not idiotic nor is he gullible (you do not get to have Conrad and Victoria Grayson as guardians and not learn something).
He knows she is hiding something. She has woven herself in his family's sick and twisted life for a reason. Although he doesn't know exactly what it is yet, he knows for certain that she is not simply Emily Thorne, philanthropist extraordinaire.
"I'm just so happy to see you," she looks at him with the deceitful eyes he fell in love with. It's cold and calculated and fake – so entirely like every other person in his life that it almost feels like home. "I've been so worried since we last spoke."
One day, he vows to unravel her web of lies along with his family's own. But as of now, he will play by their rules and regulations. Because fight or flight, either way he knows he is on a sinking ship straight to hell. And goddamnit, he will bring everyone worthy down with him.
After all, Daniel Grayson did not graduate from Harvard Business School just to become someone's bitch.
Author's Note: Just a drabble I had to type out because of the latest episode. I just hate how they make Daniel seem so stupid and ignorant. I get that you know, there's a side of him that is naive. But come on, it's borderline depressing how everyone's just playing him. Nobody can be that stupid and in love.
