Hello my precious (sorry I've been watching the lord of rings in the last few days) I know its been awhile but with the fucking IB program (and if you know of it you will understand me) there is no time to do the things I enjoyed. Well enough of my whining and her is the next shot this will carry a lot of importance in the fic What Comes Next.

Thank you all for reading and reviewing.

Mana sat underneath the great tree that was in the center of the Blue Lotus Garden. She smiled, remembering what she and her Prince had done on that exact spot just the other day. By definition of the law, the two of them were married; they lived under the same roof and had in unaccountable occasions already consummated their union. However, she felt as though it wasn't enough. Nowadays marriages could so easily be nulled and separate. Mana wanted to give herself completely to him. Atem already had her heart and body, yet she wanted to give her soul to him as well.

Mana sighed and looked up at the trees. What was she thinking? A union like that was of the gods and not even Atem would ever cross such a line; to bind ones soul in such a way to another being, there are no words for it.

"Mana!" The young prince of Egypt called out at the garden's entrance.

Atem looked around, not seeing her. Mahad during the whole day had asked him if he knew where she could be hiding and Atem had been forced to lie in more than one occasion. What had been the most surprising was the talk he had had with his father. Pharaoh Akmankamon wanted his son to wed Mana. He wanted him to tell his court about their secret relationship and for her to beginning her lessons in being Queen. Atem couldn't imagine the scene that would play out and Aknadin would most likely have a stroke in being force to be Mana's teacher; he hates her with such a passion.

"I'm over here!" Mana called out. She stood up and met Atem half way, reaching up on her toes and giving him a kiss on the corner of his mouth. Moaning, Atem grabbed her waist and pulled her into a more demanding kiss, crushing his lips to hers. Mana moaned, ever since that afternoon in this very garden when they had both finally acknowledged and accepted the fact that they were bounded by LAW to the other did they stop fighting their urges.

Once they broke off, Atem rested his forehead against her. "You know better than to tease me Mana."

She smiled. "I know, Prince. I just enjoy doing it."

He smiled as he let her go. "What have you been doing here all day?"

She shrugged and placed her hand on his, not wanting to lose contact. "I've been thinking about many things Prince, though mostly about the fear that lies within the depths of my heart."

He looked into the pool of green that were her eyes and brought her knuckles against his cheek. "And what fear would that be?"

She sighed, but never lost eye contact with him, "I fear... that... they will take me away from you once we tell them about us."

"Mana, I promise you there is no way that they could ever do anything to separate us."

"Prince, partners get separated all the time; you and I have both heard the stories down in the village."

Atem cupped her cheek with his empty hand and forced her to lift her chin.

"We are not those couples, Mana; and if you want we can perform a ritual that is more binding then any mortal shall ever perform."

Mana breath hitched at hearing those words. Could her wish be coming true? Is he really going to be truly and only mine? Those ideas scared her more than she was will to admit, but a rush of excitement ran through her veins. "Are you sure, Atem?"

He nodded, never breaking his eyes away from her.

"Then..., then yes Atem... I accept your proposal."

He smiled and kissed her with such force that she was sure that her lips were bruised, but she really didn't care. Atem wanted nothing, but she and he would do everything in this world and the next to make sure that no power could tear her from him. In one of his late night studies he had read up on a ritual that was supposed to join to souls into one; yet it was really risky if the souls weren't compatible they would both be lost to the Shadows never to be whole again.

Atem broke the kiss, "Mana the ritual carries it's risk; if anything doesn't go as it's supposed to-"

Mana shook her head and pecked him lightly on the cheek, "I don't care Atem. I'm willing to do anything to be with you; there is nothing I am not willing to risk but you."

Those words scared Atem; however, he knew that he was willing to do just the same for her.

"Alright Mana, meet me here tomorrow when Ra is going down come only in your ceremonial lineal."

She laughed and gave him a sly look, "Atem you know that is basically transparent."

He chuckled, "Mana I don't have to sink to such tricks to see you like that. You and I both know that I have other more convenient ways."

Mana laughed as her Prince bent down and gave her another scorching kiss. Tomorrow they would be forever one, but tonight all she wanted was to be with him.

The Next Day at Dusk...

Mana arrived just when the light of Ra was starting to fade and when she entered the Blue Lotus Garden her breath left her body. It was beautiful, the colors and glow of the candles that formed a perfect circle.

"Mana are you gonna enter anytime soon!" Atem called out a little impatiently. It would seem that something would never change and the impatient, wild, clever as Anubis kid that she had loved for many years was still beneath that hard shell of emotionless.

"I'm going, just tell me where the entrance is." She responded ,walking over to the glowing circle.

Atem rolled his eyes, but smiled. "It's to my right Mana; near the only green candle."

She snickered as she made her way into the circle and gave him a brush of her hand on his, a silent vow that everything would be fine. With a flick of her wrist, she closed the circle. It was just them know and the Gods; if anything were to go wrong, nobody was going to be able to help them.

Atem took in a deep breath and turned toward Mana. As he made eye contact with her, he began the ritual. "I, son of Pharaoh Akmankonam, Crown Prince of Egypt Atem invoke the gods to this scared place to witness this soul binding."

Mana smiled a looked up at her love; he was really going all out. She picked up the chalice and poured wine into it 'till it was half full. "I, Mana Apprentice Magician and Consort to the Crown Prince of Egypt take this chalice and offer my blood; and with this blood, I will become one with... Atem." She grabbed the knife that rested on the table and slashed the palm of her hand. The blood rapidly began to flow from it. And without a second thought, she placed it over the chalice, letting her blood drip into it freely.

Atem took the knife from her hand and without a word slash it across his hand; with his hand face up, the blood pooled up. And when he considered that it was enough, he gentle grabbed her hand and removed it from the cup. With a swift motion, he poured his blood into the chalice.

"With this we unit our incense and become one," he chanted. He grabbed a white lineal cloth and warped it around our cut hands. The cloth instantly stared to absorb our flowing blood. Atem leaned over and grabbed the chalice from Mana's unharmed hand.

"As I drink from this cup, I give you my heart and soul; and I trust you with it fully as you are the only one that has a hold on them." As Atem said the last words, he took the chalice to his lips. Taking a deep breath, he began to swallow the dark red liquid. As the warmth of it passed down his throat, he also felt the Shadow Magic that was his and Mana's. He felt when he had drank half and passed the cup to Mana; know it was up to her. If she could not say the words with enough true conviction then they would be lost.

"As this liquid passes the boarders of my lips, I hand you everything that is me and from this moment forward we become one, always connected and always one." And without another thought, she finished up the remaining of the blood. The Shadows rouse around them and swallowed them - the only thing that told them that they weren't alone and still connected. As the shadows entered them, they pulled their souls into one.

Once the magic began to dissipate, two circular clear objects appeared in front of the couple. They looked at them with suspicion, but took them anyway. The items were familiar yet strange in their appearance. Mana's was slightly bigger and it fit nicely around her left ring; Atem's was similar yet smaller. By the mere shape of the object, he could guess that it was a ring and placed it on his second finger to his right on his left hand.

When the magic disappeared, nearly completely the glass jewels glowed with color, and now and forever more two souls have become one the jewels that they carry shall glow as the evidence of their union and the light shall always lead them to find the other half.

As they came back to the Lotus Garden; the candle were out and they lay on the floor. Who knew how long they had been out, but all Atem wanted was to never let go of the girl in his arms.

"We are one, Atem," Mana simply stated, looking up at the starry night sky.

"Yes Mana and now there is nothing that anybody can do to tear us apart, not even death."

They stayed like that until the first light of Ra came. When they knew that they were risking it, they both ran their separate ways to their respected rooms.
