Riku had never been more scared in his life. He HAD learned and grown over the course of this crazy adventure caught within Sora's dreams, but being pinned under Ansem- something he REALLY didn't expect when he had defeated that last fragment inside of him -made him feel as helpless as he was last time he was young like this.

Right up there, sitting unknowingly serene on that stupid Organization XIII throne, was Sora.

"Get off of me!" He growled, squirming "YOU GET OFF OF ME!" He yelled, managing to get an arm unpinned. Ansem only pinned it again "What, are you so helpless again? Open-" Riku didn't let him finish "NEVER!" He then worriedly looked back at Sora, then at THE Xehanort. Oh god what is he-

Riku felt himself freeze up as a cold beam of light hit Sora. He heard Mickey gasp, but everything was slowing down, not completely registering. Sora's body writhed, twitching like a dead frog hooked up to a few volts of electricity, stilled, then toppled over and started falling towards the unforgiving ground.

Riku shook off Ansem in a surge of fury and fear and adrenaline, and dashed with his hands held out "SORA!" He leapt out and slid against the ground as he caught his dear friend, skidding painfully after the impact. He sat there for a few moments, then shakily got one one knee, supporting Sora as best he could. The boy was still limp.

"Come on Sora! Come on you're stronger than that!" His voice was laughing, but it was frantic, worried, terrified. He shook him "Come on bud, we're almost outta here you just gotta wake up!" Sora opened his eyes, but they were unnaturally dull. He smiled weakly "Riku..." Riku laughed in relief, smiling wide "Yeah, it's me Sor-"

He screamed moments later as Sora blasted him away with darkness. He tumbled and landed against the base of a throne HARD. The wind was knocked out of him, and boy did everywhere hurt. He raised his head when he heard footsteps "S-Sora...?"

"What's wrong? Giving up already?"

Riku's eyes widened in pure terror at the suddenly golden-eyed youth standing in front of him with a manical grin on his face-

Then moments later his eyes snapped open, bedsheets in a tangled mess around him, both them and his clothes drenched in sweat. He took several deep breaths for he didn't know how long, the unfamiliar feeling of his eyes brimmed and blurred with tears adding to his disorientation.

He then curled up, hugging himself. "Riku, it was only a nightmare..." He reassured himself softly. He then turned around, seeing Kairi fast asleep on the other side of his room. It was a little awkward bunking at Yen Sid's tower together, but that wasn't what was worrying him.

God, what if that happened to Kairi? What if Xehanort hadn't given up on Sora and was still perusing him? Riku felt his tears leaking out, but stubbornly wiped them away "Come on, they're both fine. Kairi's here, and Sora's in the Realm of Sleep... He... He can handle himself."

It didn't stop his worrying. Only a day alone- several in the dream worlds, but still -and Sora had nearly lost his life.

This wasn't the first time he had gotten the nightmare- a loving face twisted with pure malice, golden eyes in the place of blue ones that mocked him of his failures, just the mere existence of someone who he'd have to kill eventually and constantly mocking him for letting his best friend slip right through his fingers no matter how hard he tried. It chilled him right into his core.

He then quietly rolled over, tucked his blankets around him, and went to sleep again.

weee more drabble. I swear, Riku must have been scared shitless during that scene.
