THE MOMENT

"I really like it," he said, reaching out to tease the short hairs near her ear with a light caress.

"T-thanks," Hermione stammered, her heart in her throat.

Was this really happening? Was Draco finally starting to think of her as more than just a flatmate and a friend, or was he just being kind?

He withdrew his touch, and ran his hand through his long bangs, pushing them off his forehead. "Listen, Granger... would you... maybe... like to go for coffee?"

Right then, a vision of the future flashed before her eyes: she was going to kiss Draco Malfoy today, on Valentine's Day, and it would be the start of something really good.

She smiled. "I'd love to."
