I stared at the grass in the field as we awaited our demise. There was no way to stop it. No way could I see. I tried one last time to search for a future where we could survive this. Nothing. I sighed. Uncle Edward looked to me with a sad expression. I tightened my grip on Alec's hand perhaps out of desperation for comfort. He looked at me with his golden eyes.

'I love you,' I mouthed. I leaned into him as he stroked my cheek lovingly.

I peered around and saw the others giving each other their silent goodbyes.

Natalie gripped Seth's fur as tightly as she could and she wept quietly into it. Tyler sat with Leah who was still in her human form, his arm draped over her shoulders protectively. Rosalie and Emmett stood close by, watching their children with great despair. Bree stood between her parents with Jake off to Bella's side. Samantha and Trevor leaned on each other with their eyes closed almost like they were sleeping standing up but I knew; however, this was their farewell. The closeness was all they needed.

Garrett stood with one hand on his newly adopted son's shoulder as his other arm held his new mate, Kate. Carmen and Eliazar, hand in hand, lingered just a few feet away from their new daughter, Samantha. It was wrong how these families could be so soon created and then so easily and suddenly destroyed. The eerie mood of the day intensified as the cloaked, bringers of death entered the field.

The red eyes searched as they took their positions on the other side of us. They searched for one who has long deserted us- my mother, Alice. Jane stared with hatred at her twin. A few minutes of awkward silence passed between us before grandpa finally spoke.

"Aro let us speak civilized like we always have and leave in peace." Caius narrowed his eyes at his words.

"Fair words considering the army you have assembled against me," Aro said dangerously.

"You must understand that was never my intent," grandpa reasoned.

"No? Then you only intended to steal from me?" Aro's voice hissed in anger as everyone's attention shifted to Alec.

"I am not property to steal," Alec said with firmness, "and I joined the Cullen clan under my own free will."

"You have betrayed us!" Jane snarled. Aro silenced her with a hand.

"I am sorry you feel that way, sister, but this is where I belong now," Alec countered, squeezing my hand.

"This is not what we have gathered to discuss," Carlisle said.

"Quite right, Carlisle," Caius said, "We have come to address your eagerness to supply human's with the truth of our existence which is forbidden."

"No human knows of our existence," I called. They looked at me as if I had lost my mind. "For," I continued, "I am not human."

"Then what are you?" Aro said as to humor me.

"I am half human and half vampire," I explained but before they could protest I continued. "My father seduced my mother who was changed into a vampire shortly after giving birth to me. He took her as his wife and they raised me and trained me until I was seven years old."

"Trained you?" Marcus said in his monotone voice which took on a slight interest in the conversation.

"My parents were part of a coven who hated you. The leader of that coven was my aunt Hanna Tanner."

Aro stiffened at the mention of her name.

"She wanted to hurt you because you rejected her. She wanted power. She conspired to kill you using a new species of fighters. Her brother's helped her create it. The first baby's mother died giving birth and the other three were successfully turned after their children were delivered. They trained us to fight so one day we may destroy you." Outraged, the guard hissed and snarled at the thought of their deaths.

"What happened to your parents?" Aro asked in anger.

"One of the hybrid children managed to escape for we did not want to fight you," I started. They relaxed some.

"We found her already with another family. Our idiotic parents tried to take her by force and they paid with their lives. My two cousins and I joined the Cullen clan with our other cousin and have lived with them ever since."

"You conspired against us?" Aro whispered with a hiss.

"No," I pleaded. "We never wanted to harm you. Our parents, yes, but we never wanted to kill anyone."

"Who are the others?" he asked calmer this time.

"If I am to tell you, you must swear not to harm them," I bargained.

"Very well," he agreed. Tyler, Natalie, Trevor and bree stepped forward.

"Tyler, Trevor, Natalie and bree," I introduced.

"How do we know you are telling the truth?" Caius asked.

"I can show you," I said. Aro smiled and gestured for me to approach him.

Alec tightened his grip on my hand ut I kissed his cheek and slipped my hand away from his. I took a breath before I walked across the large field.

I stopped in front of him and he took my hand greedily. And he watched. He watched our graphic births, our fight for survival, and the abuse. He also watched our happy lives with our loving family, my friendship with Sam, and me finding Alec. His facial expressions twitched unhappily at that. He unhanded me after watching my last memory of my mother. He was definitely upset now however he studied me for a moment and that creepy smile returned. I didn't like the way he watched me.

"You can see the future?" he asked in a way that made my stomach churn.

"And the past and present," I corrected. He smiled at me evilly. What is he thinking? He made a motion with his head and two of his guard grabbed me. My family and allies tensed up across the field.

"No!" I screamed. I fought against their hold as they drug me back. As if out of one of my dreams, mom and dad appeared.

"Alice," Aro breathed. They were here!

"Let my daughter go!" she demanded as dad backed her up.

"And why should I do that?" Aro asked as if nothing was wrong about what he was doing.

"Because," mom said as she glared, "I have a seer that will go with you willingly." Everyone gasped as a boy came out from behind dad. Aro moved his hand and the two let me go. I ran into mom's arms, hugging her as if I were dying.

"What is your name?" Aro asked the boy.

"I'm Joseph," the dark hair boy replied. "I am here to trade myself for Tamika Cullen."

"Trade?" Aro ask intrigued.

"Yes," he replied. "I will serve you as part of your guard if the Cullens are not bothered again."

"Very well," Aro agreed not caring how this made him look. The boy left with them as they went and just like that everything was alright in the world again.

Sorry for how it ended so quickly but I want to end this story. I have worked on it for years now. Thank you to all who took an interest in the story!
