I feel so so bad! I'm so sorry for the long delay of a response! I as going through a lot in making hard decisions then I started school again and it was a lot of work I did not have a break to even think about updating my story, and plus I had a major writer's block so it just made me sad… ANYWAYS, same as always: reviews are always welcome and I love the opinions and thoughts! Here's chapter 7!

"Don't go where I can't follow"

Ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump. "What is that sound. Why is it so loud?" Bilbo opened his eyes slowly, preparing himself for the brightness of the room until he noticed something. It was completely pitch black. His eyes widened in shock in realization of where he was.

"This cant be happening, its to early, I shouldn't be here. Why am I here?!" he clenched his eyes as he gripped his hair tightly, almost yanking it out in frustration and despair. Ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump, ba- the heartbeat sound stopped, then all of a sudden, a deep sinister laugh vibrated through the darkness. Bilbo's took a sharp breath when he heard a voice echo, "I have finally enveloped your heart in complete darkness Bilbo Baggins, and there is nothing you can do to escape it. You are stuck here for the rest of your life and you will never find light again." Bilbo felt his throat tighten as he tried to hold his tears in, "No, don't do this. Don't let me be here, let me do back. I don't want to be here!" Bilbo heard the voice let out another sinister laugh as he begins to hyperventilate, "You will never leave this room. The darkness is a part of you now, and soon enough, your body will slowly fade away and die." The echoed voice fades as it finishes the last sentence. Bilbo curls into a ball and cradles his head in his hands as he lets out a sob, "Thorin, don't give up on me, don't give up on us" While Bilbo continues to cry in his knees, if he had looked up he would've seen his mother's spirit light bristle in anger before shooting towards him enveloping in a bright light, before disappearing completely.

Thorin doesn't know how long he has been sitting on the battlefield ground holding Bilbo, but he can't bring himself to care. He continued to hide his face in the hobbit's neck with eyes clenched shut. He could still here his nephews sitting in front of them holding onto each other as they cry for Bilbo. Bilbo, his precious hobbit, how could this have happened, this should never have happened. Thorin let out a shuddering breath as he tried to control his emotions when he heard a loud shout of surprise come from Bofur and the rest of the company around them began to murmur in confusion, "What on earth is happening?!" Thorin's eyebrows scrunched together as he pulled his face away from Bilbo's neck to see what the deal was. Thorin looked at Bofur but the other dwarf wasn't looking at Thorin, but rather at the person he was holding in his arm. Confused, Thorin looked down at Bilbo and lets out a gasp of shock as he pushes himself away from his body.

Bilbo was glowing a blinding light that flashed of all colours of the rainbow until the light shot out of Bilbo's body and landed in the middle of the circle of the company. The group covered their eyes as the light landed, and when they lowered their arms, or hands, their eyes widened in shock. When Thorin finally looked at where the light landed, he could not believe what he was seeing. Standing in place of the light, was a female hobbit with dark brown medium length curly hair wearing a red and white dress.

"Thorin Oakenshield, my, my. You know my first impression of you was that I though you were a complete idiot?" The female hobbit spoke with a smile so bright on her face. Thorin blinked disbelieving, unsure if he heard her right. "I beg your pardon? Who are you, and why have you come from Bilbo's body?" Thorin sneered at the female clenching Bilbo's body tighter as though he was protecting him from her. The female starts laughing as she notices this, "Oh yes, you're quite perfect for my Bilbo dear." Gandalf turns around quickly from speaking with Thranduil when he hears a familiar laughter and voice. He scans the area until he sets his eyes on the person he was looking for. He stutters in disbelief as he starts walking quickly to her shouting, "Belladonna Took how in the world could you be here?!" Belladonna jumps as she heard someone shouting her name. When she turns around, her smile grew wide when she saw Gandalf stop and kneels before her wrapping his arms around her tiny frame. She lets out a delighted squeal as she hugs the wizard back. Thorin looks at the pair hugging and can't help but wonder why that name sounded so familiar, but he could not figure it out. She seemed to know Bilbo, and know who he himself was, so Thorin continues to watch her and listen to what she has to say.

Belladonna steps out of the hug and looks up at Gandalf when he stands. "Really Gandalf, did you honestly think I was going to leave my precious darling alone in this world?" Gandalf frowned at this being said, "But.. You passed away when he was still but a tween, have you been with him all this time? What about Bungo?" Belladonna scoffed at the wizard as she turned around and knelt by where Thorin held her sweet child and placed her hand on his cheek. "After Bungo passed away, Bilbo was all I had left, and I was all he had left, passing away so soon was not what I wanted. But there was nothing I could've done to prevent that when the only thing running through my mind when I died during the fell winter was that the wolves were dead and that my Bilbo was safe from harm." Gandalf name a noise of discomfort at this, "That doesn't explain how you are here Belladonna Took, and I suggest you explain it to me now"

Belladonna turned her head sharply to look at the confounded wizard, "When hobbit mothers pass away before their child has found their one love, they stay in spirit form inside their children's heart to help them find it, and push away the darkness incase they get rejected and try to help them conquer it. Bilbo almost died trying to protect these dwarves and fought off the darkness. We almost left together to be with Bungo before, but Bilbo's love for Thorin and his nephews has been far too strong to give up. That's why I'm here, to help Thorin with the soul bound." Gandalf shook his head in disbelief muttering to himself, "these hobbits will never cease to amaze me"

The company around them looks at each other wondering if anyone else knew what was going on, they all shrugged and scratched their heads at the unknown hobbit. Kili who was sitting off to the side of Thorin and Bilbo with Fili looked at the female hobbit carefully and he lets out a harsh sniffle as he finally pieced it together of who she was, "Then that means, you're Bilbo's mother?" Kili's lip trembled as he reaches his arms towards her. Belladonna turned her head to the dark-haired prince as he spoke to her also noticing him reaching out towards her as if he wanted comfort. She lets out a comforting sound as she pulls him into a hug, "That would be me, and you two must be the precious Kili and Fili." Kili lets out a sob and leaned forward to press his forehead against her shoulder. When Fili began to figure out that this was Bilbo's beautiful mother, he couldn't help but feel safe with her there. It's been so long since both him and his brother had a mother comfort them. That being said, it didn't stop him from also hugging her with tears spilling from his eyes.

Thorin couldn't believe what he was hearing. This female hobbit that insulted him as soon as she saw him, was Bilbo's mother, the hobbit that told Bilbo to complete their bond, instead of going with her when he almost died. A warming sensation ran through his body in admiration and gratitude as he watched Belladonna comfort his sister-sons as they cried. He knew that they missed their mother immensely and felt guilty for taking them away from Dis. Belladonna knew that the brothers missed having a motherly comfort, and seeing two dwarfs who were just barely of age to leave their own mothers arms, she felt it was right to make them feel safe and loved. She also knew the only way to truly calm down someone who is so heartbroken and scared is by singing them a song: and sing a song is exactly what Belladonna Took did.

Gentle Mother,

Font of mercy,

Save our sons from war,

We pray.

Stay the swords

And stay the arrow,

Let them know

A better day.

Gentle Mother,

Strength of women,

Help our daughters

Through this fray.

Soothe the wrath

And tame the fury,

Teach us all,

A kinder way.

Gentle Mother,

Font of mercy,

Save our sons from war,

We pray.

Stay the swords

And stay the arrow,

Let them know

A better day.

Thorin's eyes closed halfway through her song and layed his forehead against Bilbo's blackened chest to hide his tears as her song is the anthem to everyone who is involved with war. He kept whispering in the hobbit's chest, "Please give him back to me, don't take away my reason to live, give back my heart and soul." The company of dwarves sat down around them and rests their hand against their heart as the song that is being sung makes their heart warm up. Gandalf takes his hat off and bows his head to hide a smile; he's always loved her songs as they touch everyone's emotions. Bard stood on one side of Gandalf and closes his eyes with his head tilted towards the sky: he felt as though her singing is like the sun, giving warmth and light in people's lives. Thranduil was standing on the other side of Gandalf with his head tilted towards her: he always believed that hobbits were the peacemakers and comforters of the world. Fili and Kili on the other hand, were distraught with the world and what they went through. Witnessed Bilbo almost dying, leaving their mother, and going through hell to get to where they are now, and they still feel like they have failed themselves and the others. When Belladonna started singing, it felt as though all the weight they had carried on their shoulders had completely been lifted off them. Tears drying, they snuggled closer to the hobbit mother and vowed to themselves that they will never take their own mother for granted and love her immensely more then ever: because, a mother's love is what creates a person to be the way they are in the world.

Bilbo has cried his tears until he could cry now more. All he could d after that was just lie in the darkness curled up, hoping for a miracle to bring him back into the light. He didn't like the dark, he never has, and don't think he ever will. Ever since Bilbo was a child, his mother would always leave some form of light in his room when it was bedtime, making him feel safe and that's why he loved her so much. She always knew him better than he knew himself. And when she passed away he felt his confidence drop and he secluded himself from everyone else. When Bilbo first saw her when he saved Fili and Kili from getting killed he wanted to be with her so bad. He would've gone to be with her and his father for the rest of eternity, but as always his mother knew him better than he knew himself, which is why she made him go back after hearing the brother's cry. He flinched thinking about that moment, it was heart wrenching hearing them cry out for him. Thinking about Fili and Kili brought his thoughts to Thorin, oh his precious one love. His precious heart and soul. The moment he laid eyes with Thorin he knew right away that he was the one. Getting banished hurt a lot; he literally felt like his heart shattered to pieces, getting rejected is not something to enjoy. Bilbo curled up tighter and shivered. It was cold, so cold. As Bilbo shivered he could hear a voice running through his head and he stopped shivering in confusion and sat up quickly listening closely. As he listened he finally heard what the voice was and the frown that etched his face for a while finally turned into a wide smile and breathed out in relief, "Mother." He looked around the room he was in to look for a flaw, and out of the corner of his eye, he could see a small light poking through a small hole of the wall of the room he was in, and through that hole he could hear a low voice whispering quietly. Bilbo felt his eyes tear up at the familiar comforting voice of Thorin as he walked to where the hole was, placing his hands on the side of the small hole that was slowly getting bigger and layed his forehead on the cool wall.

Bilbo knew right then and there: the darkness was fading, and he knew exactly how he was going to escape. Darkness doesn't have the power to defeat a mother's love and the one love of the person whose heart you tried to take over combined: and where the light gets in, is where I will be getting out.

Thorin, Fili, Kili, Mother, you all give me the guts to never give up.
