My Life Would Suck Without You

Chapter 1

Janessa-Danyelle Simms stood in the guest room of her parent's house in California. She was packing to head back to Ipswich. The place where her heart really belonged and where her real family really was. She picked up the photo that sat on the nightstand next to her bed. Tracing over the figures in the picture, she smiled to herself. She missed the boys, who were in the picture so much. They were her best friends and she couldn't stand being away from them at all. Setting the picture frame back down on the nightstand, she continued to pack her belongings.

Zipping up her luggage, she heard her mom call out to her telling her that the taxi was ready to pick her up. She had never been so excited in her life. Being away from them really hurt her. Rushing out of her room, she shut the door before heading downstairs. The only reason she had decided to go to California to see her biologically parents was because of her brother, Tyler. Well he wasn't exactly her real brother. Her biological parents never wanted her at all when she was born. They had put her up for adoption and their prayers had been answered when a family in Massachusetts had said that they were looking to adopt a baby.

Rosalind and Glenn Simms had already had one baby, Tyler Simms, who had been just a few months old. Rosalind and Glenn wanted more children but the doctors had warned them that Rosalind may not be able to have any more because of the complications of having Tyler. So they had decided to go through with adoption. During the winter time, they had been blessed with a second baby. Janessa-Danyelle Simms was welcomed into the family. A beautiful bundle of joy for them and a little sister for Tyler to eventually take care of. She was someone who Tyler could confide in and their parents had never expected them to be the best of friends.

Janessa loved her parents. She never referred to them as her adopted parents. They were always her mom and dad. The parents who had always wanted her and made her feel like their daughter. Even if she looked nothing like them. They had raised her to be the woman that she is now. She couldn't have asked for a better set of parents.

Janessa looked at her biological mom, Hailey. They didn't exactly have the best relationship and this summer had shown that. She gave her a quick hug before rushing out to the taxi where her father was waiting for her. She gave her father a quick hug before getting into the taxi. She no longer wished to be there with them. She just wanted to finally go home. She missed her mom, dad, and most especially her brother. She missed the boys too. She had really only gone to California because Tyler had begged her to give her biological parents a chance. A chance for them to bond and well things didn't exactly go according to plan. Her mother and her really didn't get along at all. Now she had understood why her mom gave her up for adoption. She wasn't exactly the motherly type. And her father. Well he was a little more compassionate but he still wasn't the fatherly type as well.

So she was off to head back to Ipswich, Massachusetts.
