While going through the appendices, I noticed how many aliases Aragorn seems to have accumulated. That, and too much coffee, spawned this. I am well aware that it is AU and that could never happen, nor will it ever happen, in the Tolkien universe. Meant to be harmless. Enjoy.

A shadowy man sat at a table in The Prancing Pony. His eyes scanned the room; hood drawn about so none could see his face. A sudden disturbance made him glance up sharply, and to his astonishment; the young hobbit he had been watching so closely had just disappeared!

As he grabbed Frodo to drag him upstairs, he was assaulted by three other hobbits. "Unhand him Lonshanks!" One cried. The other looked at him incredulously.

"Longshanks? I thought his name was Strider."

Suddenly, two elves walked in on the scene. "Estel! It's has been quite some time, mellon-nin."

"I thought his name was Strider," Merry whispered to Pippin

. As Strider Estel Longshanks embraced the elves, a man clothed in grey robes appeared

. "Aragorn, my lad, what are you doing here?"

Frodo by this time was becoming very confused trying to keep up with all the names. Just as Aragorn Longshanks Estel Strider was talking with Gandalf, another ranger walked noisily into the crowd.

"Ah, young Dunadàn, what brings you to Bree?"

Merry and Pippin glanced at eachother. "Do you have any idea what's going on Pip?"

Merry shook his head. "Not the slightest, Merry."

So Aragorn Dunadan Estel Strider Longshanks began conversing with this new addition to their ever-growing crowd.

Just when the hobbits thought they couldn't take any more, a small child walked up to them. Aragorn Dunadan Strider Longshanks Estel bent to pick her up, and she smiled.

"You're King Elessar!" She said proudly. "Aye that I am." Aragorn replied.

Frodo just fainted dead away.
