Hello! Yes, you're not imagining or currently in a dream, I'm back. Yeah it sounds surreal but it's true I swear. I'm sorry I haven't written anything. It was my first year at university and things got crazy. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter. I hope I'm not that rusty. And I swear to god, I'll finish this fic even if it's the last thing I do in life.
After writing this, I'm going to watch the entire season 2 of the originals because I'm so late on it ): And don't get me started on San Diego comic con because oh boy it killed me and I wasn't even there.
As usual, I don't own The Vampire Diaries or The Originals and any mistakes are mine.
Still in London, Bonnie woke up with the strange greyish sunlight that was coming through the dark red curtains. Opening carefully her eyes, she felt dizzy and confused and tried to remember what had happened. And in a matter of seconds, it all came crashing down on her. How she had been so close to dying and how Kol saved her life by giving her his blood that offered a complete recovery and healing.
However, her thinking was interrupted by the door being opened with the help of the cocky original vampire that she liked so much.
Kol took her all in and the evident concern that reached his eyes was like a burn in Bonnie's skin. A good kind of burn that sent shivers down her spine. "Good morning Bennett. How are you feeling?"
"Much better. Thank you for yesterday." Her simple words meant so much more. It was a rushed "Thank you for saving my life. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for letting me life through another day to see that face of yours." that made Kol smile.
"I will always care about you, you know that." Kol said, showing once again another side of him; his pure vulnerability that captivated Bonnie's heart and mind. He never failed to surprise her.
Bonnie lowered her head and murmured a "Yeah I know. I'm sorry." to Kol.
Both knew that it held so much more meaning than that. Kol wanted to know why she had left and he was still waiting for her explanation. However, he was damn sure that he wasn't giving the answers he desired so much today.
"Anyway, get up and get yourself ready. We leave in two hours to Moscow."
"Okay, thank you for letting me know. How's Klaus holding up by the way?"
"Yeah, as good as he can be. We're just trying to control his serial killer mood right now. You know, the usual."
Bonnie laughed for once and took the opportunity to tease him "Look at you, acting all mature and responsible. If I can remember perfectly, you were the same."
With a dry "haha" Kol kept going, while a dark smirk was formed in his face. "Very funny. I quit all of those nasty habits. Europe taught me how to have really good fun instead."
The Bennett witch shook her head and decided to go with an "I'm not even going to ask."
While everyone was busy packing, Klaus took some time off of his family and went for a walk around London. He needed time to think, to process everything. The only light in his life was kidnapped and it was very likely she was being tortured at the moment and it was all his fault. Klaus was reaching that point of high desperation and hell forgive him for the things he would do next. For her, there were no limits. There have never been.
He missed her. Oh god, did he miss her. He kept reminding himself the things he loved about her to not crumble under pressure and fear. The way she carried an overload of compassion that was real and fair enough and which obviously cost her something. And here he was. It was his fault. But he would get her home even if he wasn't coming back with her. He will do anything for her and maybe, just maybe, Viktor and his loyal vampires weren't ready for the Klaus that was about to come to them. He didn't create and reach the reputation he had by doing nothing.
The whole original family plus Bonnie got on the plane three hours later. The flight was uneventful, and it all went without a scratch. The young witch also took this time to study more Esther's Grimoire so she could have a plan B in case the spell they agreed on didn't work.
Kol decided to speak for the first time in that flight to Bonnie. "How's that search going?"
"Not good. But I found some serious kicking ass spells to use for my own defense."
"Yes, that's good. Please learn that and be more careful this time. I can't keep saving your sorry ass, Bennett." Kol replied, cracking up with a smile because of the last part he said. Always teasing her was his style.
Both had a much deeper connection than with just plain words. With a simple look directed to each other, they knew that what Kol really meant was "I can't get near to losing you again."
"I know. It's not going to happen. I'm not letting it happen again. Besides, you're the reckless one in this relationship, not me." Before she could stop herself from saying that, the word "relationship" flew fast from her mouth.
"This relationship eh? I thought we were broken up Bennett."
"Shut up, you know what I meant. You're the reckless one, final. So, behave yourself out there, please." It all came out like a profound plea from Bonnie.
"Don't worry, it all be fine. In no time, we're going to be flying back home with my favourite Blondie next to us." Kol said and rest his hand against her shoulder for so much needed reassurance.
Their comfortable trance and closure was broken when Rebekah announced "We're here. It's show time."
Taking the opportunity to mock his little sister, Kol remarked "It's show time? Really bekah? Are we in those cheesy soap operas that you love to watch?"
"Shut up. It was a motivational phrase."
"Please, look at us. No one can stop us."
Elijah, being the usual wise older brother interrupted both of them to just simply say "Don't be so sure. We're not underestimating Viktor. He has Caroline, let's just go get her back."
Klaus was quiet, too quiet for everyone's taste. And they knew the anger that was currently flowing through his body, ready to erupt into a violent storm that was taking no survivors.
They checked themselves into a hotel. It was old, even ancient, with an architecture that could take your breath away. It was simply majestic.
Bonnie was fascinated with the cold hard but also familiar feeling that Moscow was giving her. She always had wanted to go explore and travel the world, learn more about other cultures and also find other witches. She just wished that this had happened in much better circumstances.
Klaus soon found out that Viktor was holding a winter ball for his rich friends and loyal followers. He also knew better than that. Viktor knew they were coming and this was him reaching out to Klaus. "you want me? Come find me then." kind of thing.
"So what's the plan?" Rebekah asked.
"The plan is you, Bonnie and Kol go to that Ball, put your charm in 100% and control everything while me and Elijah sneak around to find something that's worth it."
"And what if Viktor catches you two?"
"We take him down."
"You're underestimating him; he's stronger than you think, Klaus."
Elijah finally spoke and voiced his true opinion "I have to agree with our dear sister here."
"This idea is dangerous." Rebekah kept on going with her point of view, trying to make her older brother see the reason.
"An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all." Klaus remarked in a poetic voice.
Rebekah groaned in frustration and added "Don't Oscar Wilde me now."
"We're doing this, just trust me on this."
In the following night, Moscow could stop and stare at Bonnie and Rebekah walking down the street to reach the building where was being held the ball. Right behind them was their loyal shadow named Kol Mikaelson for protection measures.
Bonnie was wearing this beautiful long dark blue gown, with shinny diamond details in the corset area while her long brown hair cascaded in locks down her back. She looked stunning and Kol couldn't keep his eyes off of her. His mind was reaching places that he was desperate to get out. The thoughts of pinning her against a wall, ripping that gorgeous gown off of her and doing some damage with his tongue and teeth in her breath taking dark skin was making him go insane. He had to stop. He had to focus. But it was so hard when the pretty girl that he had in front of him was also the death of him.
On the other hand, Rebekah was killing everyone with her also long gown but in red. She always loved bloodier. It hugged perfectly her curves with the intention of bringing every man to his knees.
The charming trio entered the room to admire two old chandeliers that illuminated the entire space. It transmitted a vibe of royalty and luxury. With golden and red decorations everywhere, the room lightened up and you could see how people were enjoying themselves and laughing at every single thing. Bonnie was captivated by the immensity of it all and absorbed every little detail.
"So, what now?" Bonnie whispered to both originals standing next to her.
"Now, we try to find Viktor and keep him busy."
They soon found him chatting to every single one of his guests like the good host he was. Bonnie just wished that Klaus and Elijah could be quicker and find something already. She was becoming nervous, afraid, anxious. It was not a good sign.
Seeing her so restless, Kol took Bonnie's hand in his and led her to the dance floor. He positioned one of his hands in her waist while the other connected with her lonely hand and slowly they started dancing. Kol desired nothing more than time to stop there. In that moment, it was just him and her and everything was perfect and careless.
Bonnie wanted to intrude and ask him what he was doing. However, it soon faded away when his hands landed on her. She didn't care, it felt just right. She also started hating herself right in that moment. Why indeed had she left? She felt a sense of home in her arms and it all she needed in her life. She didn't want to be understood, she wanted to be loved. And she was for a while, before she threw it all away and closed her door on him. She felt terribly and stopped their dance, just to get away from him. The guilt was consuming her and she wasn't sure how to stop it. Magic couldn't solve these problems of hers.
Kol stood still in the middle of the room, surrounded by happy couples dancing in pure joy. He didn't know what to do with himself anymore. He couldn't forgive her, just not yet. Not before a good explanation. An explanation that made sense to him. He didn't ask to fall in love. He didn't ask to be saved because he had come to terms a long time ago that he belonged in Hell. She was the dream that he believed it was impossible to reach. He shouldn't be capable of love but she was just so utterly captivating to him that he couldn't resist.
Abruptly, Rebekah approached them, without giving any form of space for Bonnie to escape Kol.
"We have a problem. I heard one of Viktor's securities speaking to him about a break in. I think he's going to check it out. What do we do? He's going to catch them!" Rebekah declared in a really obvious desperate cry.
"I don't know, don't look at me. Maybe I could start a fight or something?" Kol stated, taken aback with the demand for good ideas from his sister.
"Nah, it's too much of a stunt to distract everyone. Viktor would understand in a heartbeat."
"I think I have an idea." Bonnie finally spoke and excused herself to get her little plan in motion.
She made her way to the sound table and whispered something to the man in charge of the music, while literally feeling the burn of stares on her neck that came from the original siblings.
Suddenly, Istanbul (not Constantinople) started playing and Bonnie reached the centre of the room, ripped her dress to reveal black skin tight leggings along with a black bralette and started dancing. Her dance was pure, modern and light, just like a feather that flew right into the water to just let itself rest there.
Kol was amazed and she took his breath away. He couldn't take his eyes off of her for just one second. He felt tied in to her, wanting to see more and trying to guess what would be her stunning next move. On the other hand, Rebekah was holding a really playful smirk on her face while looking at her brother's face. Oh boy was he screwed.
Seeing that she was the only one with focus on her body at the moment, she looked everywhere to see if Bonnie's distraction had worked. And there he was, Viktor and the rest of people with their eyes mirrored in the young witch. She deserved much more credit than people give her for.
The younger Mikaelson also felt the fear creeping up on her when she noticed the raw violence in Viktor's eyes. He terrified her. He should definitely not be taken for granted and they were in his blessed territory.
When the song was coming to its end, Rebekah just prayed that Klaus and Elijah had found something that would help them.
So, here it is. I hope you enjoyed it. I don't even know if it's any good and I deeply apologize for the mistakes. It's 5am, give me a break haha but anyway, let me know what you think. I hope you haven't forgotten about me.
