Chapter 27: Dragons Love and Understanding

Master's POV

I awoke in the early morning feeling optimistic and joyful. The guild had something to look forward to, the birth of Lucy and Natsu's hatchlings. We would start the training today, being the master of the guild I would sit and watch as my children would spar with one another and train in hope to remove darkness from the world. I had studied Lucy's vision closely; I couldn't find anything more than what I had already seen. I was still fearful, but this was my children, my family. I have laid my life on the line for them before and will continue to do so. My worries would only grow as time drew closer but I would put it aside and think of the new guild members that we would be expecting.

"Oh, how they will be loved" I say to myself as I walk out of my office and look onto the guild hall recalling the memories of the guild in the days when everyone was young and having the blessing of watching them grow. I heard the clatter of the guild members, jumping down from the second floor, I noticed Mira cleaning.

"Hello Mira. You're here early"

"Master, I couldn't rest for long. Plus Lucy had told me that she would be here early with Natsu since she needs to get her spirits out and assign them to the guild members"

"Ah I see…wait what's Lucy going to do?" before she could speak the said person walked in followed closely by Happy and Natsu, who both looked sleepy.

"Let me, Mira" she walked over to us Mira nodded and continued with her work.

"Master, everyone will be training with my spirits, so I am making people pair up. I feel that if everyone were to pair up then we would have started to plan for what's to come with these pair, they can learn each other strength and weakness, and how they work and fight. And I will have my spirits train with everyone, in different combat style and I will be training everyone to use a new magic."

"Are you sure you can handle this Luce?" asked a concern Natsu. She turns her head and reply's with her sweet smile that can warm any heart.

"Don't worry about me or the little ones Natsu. My body was made for this remember that!" she turned her head back to me.

"That's a very logically way of thinking Lucy. What magic are you going to teach and I am interested into who you are pairing. I will give my approval once I see who."

"Of course master" she winks at me "well what I teach will manifest itself differently from one person to the next. I'll explain everything when everyone's here. Come I've got a list of the pairs here!" heading over to her I read through the list and chuckle.

"I approve. Lucy calls out your spirits now the all the members will be here soon." She nods at me as she pulls out her ring of keys, and Natsu hold her free hand lending his support although it appears that she does not need it. Bless him he really does care for her. I see her call out many of her spirits, and many in different forms. Some I wonder who she would call; I recognised one of her spirits and go to talk to the spirit.

"Hello, I'm the Master of the guild your Lillian aren't you?"

"Yes I am sir. It is a pleasure to meet you if only the circumstances were better. I feel that you have a question for me"

"Your very smart Lillian and the pleasure is all mine, I'm happy that you are here to support Lucy but you don't seem like the type of spirit to be training my children."

"I see your concern sir. Let me explain, I am what is known as the emotion sprits, we done have any constellation in the sky. I am the emotional spirit of pain. Master Luciana plans to use her emotional spirits to train everyone. We are very good at combat and because we are attune to emotions we will train with those emotional weaknesses that we all have. Even Luciana has her's" she looked sad as she spoke.

"I see, but how can a spirit of pain look so innocent and happy?" she looked to me with a wide smile

"Master Natsu asked me the same question you know. Well emotional spirits appear different to their emotional power. The reason is no matter who you are or what you appear, you feel pain and sadness no matter what. And I am happy because of Luciana, my old master would use me to hurt people and treat me like a tool. But when she found me and my siblings we were happy because she gave us love and a family. I can never be thankful enough for what she has done." She smiled as she looked over at Lucy who was sat with her spirits as they spoke and laughed.

"Lucy would never let a spirit suffer; can I tell you some story's about her?"

"Well of course sir, I would talk with the other spirits about her but before they could tell their story's they would cry. I wish I knew why"

"I'll shed some light for you if you wish. Are there any other spirits who would like to hear some why the other spirits find it hard to tell their stories?" I say as we sit in a quite area of the guild hall as we wait for the other members to arrive. Once no doubt knowing my children some would take a while after their partying.

"Thanks you sir, the other spirits are interested but they don't wish to pry. I am more open, I was her first emotional spirit and my siblings where found not long after but those few days made the difference. I'll explain later"

"Very well. When one of the guild members went missing one day we were very worried for him. You know him. We call him Loke but to you he is Leo" she places her head into her hands "When Lucy had discovered this it hadn't taken her long to find him. I was not there nor were any of the other guild members but Loke came and told me what happened to ease our concerns about him. He sat in front of his old master grave as he waited to vanish forever. He was the cause of his master's death and you know yourself the punishment for such crime. As he felt his life leaving him Lucy grab hold of him refusing to let go. You know she could have disappeared with him; she used her own magic to try and force his gate open for him. He told her to let go and that he deserved to disappear. But she still wouldn't let him go she said she would force the gate open and change the rules because all he did was protect his friend. She forced the Celestial spirit king out and made him release Loke so that he could stay with us with her. She called all of her spirits out to show how much she cared for them and how much he meant to them, and us. The Spirit King seeing the love that Lucy hold's for her spirits and how they were willing to vouch for her." I looked at Lillian who had a small tear in her left eye.

"So Luciana she nearly killed herself to save him. I never knew"

"Another time in a battle, Loke was force to fight against Arise. Lucy refused to let it happen, she begged her enemy to let the spirits go so that they could be together and be happy. She was on her knee's begging, but the price she would have to pay was her life and she was willing to give it. But thankfully the spirits couldn't they said they heard her tears for her spirits when they were hurt and how she screamed to let Loke back to save him, even her voice as a child to her mother. Her love touched everyone. That's why her spirits cry for her. They never had a master who was more willing to give their life for their happiness, she see's you all as friends not tools. She tells everyone who thinks otherwise, and she always cries when she sees any spirit in pain especially those who aren't her own. But she calls herself weak when she's not. I've never met a spirit mage who would cry for her spirits because people thought of them as tool." I pause to give her a moment to breathe and take everything in "Now why are you connected to Lucy?"

Lillian's POV

No wonder her sprits cry when they talk about her. I never knew she would give so much for us, she gave me a home and a family filled with love. But I can't help but wonder why she would have to suffer everything she's been through when all she does is give others light.

"Well, when Luciana found me I was a different person. I was cold and mean I matched my emotion well. The years to being used to cause pain made my heart cold." Hold my hands I look into a shocked guild masters eyes "I had no master at the time so I would wonder around the forest's alone, one time a wizard had found me and tried to take me. He was different from others who would try to claim me, he possessed my body and mind forcing me to do his will without a contract. Because of this it was killing me he would make me torture people and in turn do the same to me. I remember when she found me, being possessed by that man whose heart was black and cold"

*Flashback*

It was night time and the stars shone brightly. But all I could feel was the sharp and brutal pain that this man would inflict onto me. He sickened me what he would make me do, I cried out in pain was on the verge of blacking out when a bright light came from behind this man. And I saw her tall blond women surround by stellar spirits she looked fearsome and beautiful.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO HER?" the women shouted

"What I dam well please she's mine and I shall do as I wish" he replied with venom in his voice that made me cower

"Like the hell you will. Yasim go get her everyone else go rest he's not worth your time" with that her spirits left her side and she stood alone as one of the spirits ran to me. The dark mage now faced her she walked slowly towards him as he tried to stop the spirit from reaching me. Before he could land a hit on the spirit around his hand was a whip they pulled his to the ground. As he looked up he saw the women her big brown eyes held a tear as she screamed at him.

"YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. I CURSE YOUTO SUFFER EVERY SINGLE AMOUNT OF PAIN YOU HAVE INFLICED ON OTHERS. 'she crouched down to his level with a menacing look in her eyes' And when you leave you will have nothing but a name as you wonder this forest in fear of the beasts that roam here. Now go" she pulled back her whip and kicked his back as he ran and all that could be heard where his cries of pain. As the spirit gathered me in her arms she brought me to the women.

"Hi, I'm Princess Luciana the Heavenly Elemental dragon. Let me hear your wounds and bring you something that you have lacked for many years?" she looked at me with a wide smile, and eye's that shone with love and hope but fear and pain were obviously there as it clouded her eyes.

"I am Lillian. What can you offer me Princess that I have lacked? I will never serve a master who would have me do evil. I have a soul and it is tainted you can't heal my wounds" I cry out as tears stain my face, I feel her hold me in a warm embrace

"I would never use you for harm. Lillian I will give you love and a family and I promise will find your siblings and make you whole again. Let me and my friends heal your soul."

"If I go into this contract with you, do you give your oath to find them?"

"I will I never break a promise to a friend. I fill wind them in a few short days I know where they are, to make you happy our contract will not be binding till I find them, you have your freedom if you wish it should I let you down. And you will still have your freedom if you have a contract with me" She bowed as she stood holding out her hand I took it.

"A fr…riend…I never had a master who was a friend…"

"I'm not your master! We are equals just because you're a spirit and I'm a dragon does not make us any different I refuse to be anyone's master only their friend and their family."

*Flashback Ends*

"And that's why I'm like I am. She kept her promise and found my siblings and healed my wounds and made me whole from her love she gave me" I felt happy knowing that she would give up everything for us, but sad that I would lose a wonder master.

"That's defiantly our Lucy, when she left the guild do you know what she feared most?" I looked at him with wonder. "She feared she had hurt the people she loved and begged that they would forgive her. Not that she needed our forgiveness for she had done nothing wrong. She begged us not to be mad at Natsu when she left even when there was so much hurt." He looked pained with those memory's I could feel the emotion in the air as he spoke to me.

"Sir, may I tell you something?"

"Of course Lillian" I took a deep breath and hoped that my master would not be angry with me for revealing her true emotions.

"My master would never blame anyone but not because of why you would think that it is just her nature. She would only believe that she deserved everything that happened. She has been carrying pain from the day she was born. Always knowing of that fact that she was born to protect everyone, but because of this when she was born Zerfer had cursed her mother which caused her death years later. Luciana always blamed herself no matter what her mother and father had told her. Carrying this burned pained her and when she came to Fairy Tail she would still blame herself for everything that happened with her father, but when he had attacked the guild you saw for yourself what she was like. Imagine seeing your family risk everything for you, knowing that you had the power to stop it but couldn't show yourself. That pain eats away at a person's soul, and when she realised what Zefer was doing to you all it pained her more. I fear that she will always blame herself for pain around her, but I fear for her less as she has Natsu who can heal her a way we can't."

"I see, that poor child I wish that I could do more for her." He pauses "Why do you refer to the spirits are your siblings?"

"Well in each type of spirit being we are all connected, for example the zodiacs are connection through the star consolations and my type of spirit are related as brothers and sisters. It because our spirit comes from one source which is represented in a soul. Any one person can feel all these emotions in a life time so we are all brothers and sisters through this bond."

"Lillian, Master, everyone's nearly here come on" my head shot up as Lucy walked over to us with a bright smile on her face. One that I would always admire.

"We're coming Lucy" with that we both stood and joined her with Natsu and the other spirits.
