*WARNING* Possible rating M (it's implied, nothing major but just let's be certain. :) )
"Juvia will have to go to the restroom at some point! What Gray-san is gonna do then?" Juvia asked him after she got out of the bathroom with a bath towel big enough covering the most of her body. She had changed bodies but that didn't mean that she had changed habits as well. Gray looked at his body that was covered like a mummy and laughed.
"I will think of something until then."
"Juvia doesn't think there is something to think about. Gray-san has to come to terms with the situation. Or at least he should try as Juvia does. Do you think Juvia is content with the idea of Gray-san seeing her naked body? But Gray-san will need to go to the toilet and take a bath and…" she shivered as she spoke and Gray crooked a smile. He found her insecurity and anxiety so cute. But then he remembered what they were talking about and shiver made him tremble. How would he let Juvia touch it? It's not like she can do anything else but… What the fuck am I thinking? How can I permit something like that? It's like an indirect hand…Gray shut the fuck up! Juvia doesn't think like that… He looked at her and saw her fidgeting on the sofa. And suddenly he felt something other than horror. He felt jealousy and hurt. At least normal Juvia would want that… If I was in this situation with the previous Juvia, the one that cared for me and wanted only me she would want to take advantage of my body and I would chase her around to stop her. She would firstly blush and then admit how wonderful it felt for her to be inside of "me". And I would dismiss her thoughts and blushes and try to figure this out while Juvia would fool around. That's how it would be. But now… Now it's different. And why do I care? It's actually easier for me. Juvia is more serious, she isn't hang on me, she does things on her own without considering me… I should feel pleased but why am I bothered by it?
Juvia's sneaky laugh brought Gray back to reality. For some reason he felt terror for the next phrase that would come out of her mouth.
"Perhaps… Gray-san is not as talented as he wanted to be?" she teased him laughing her heart out and Gray's face turned red as a tomato.
"What? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" Juvia thought he was under-qualified? Oh shit, that took an ugly turn! "Of course not! My member is fine, it is actually enormous!"
"Oh really? Juvia is starting to think otherwise."
"And why is that?" his voice was so high it could break windows any minute now. He couldn't believe what he heard from Juvia's mouth.
"Because she hadn't noticed anything huge all those times Gray stripped naked." The moment she uttered the words she blushed and Gray tried to take advantage of her vulnerability at the moment. But it wouldn't work out for him.
"And what are you doing? You are watching me? You have nothing better to do?" and the minute he asked her he regretted it. He was certain his questions would act as a boomerang and Juvia would use it in her favor.
"It's not like we could avoid seeing you. Gray-san does nothing else but strip. Every single time. Maybe it's some syndrome, Gray wants to show his member around so no one thinks that it's small."
"It's definitely NOT THAT!" Gray was screaming and Juvia laughed.
"Oh, Juvia think she found Gray's weakness." Juvia continued and Gray was ready to explode.
"I SAID IT'S NOT THAT!" And before he could restrain his hands he dashed against Juvia and took the towel off swiftly. Then he took down the pants and then the underwear. Juvia didn't have any time to react and she just saw everything happening without being able to act. Gray's body from the waist and down was now naked and the two of them stood in front of each other. And here it was, the subject of the previous conversation was hanging majestically between Gray's body's legs.
"You see? It's pretty huge." Gray admitted proud of his member. Juvia still was shocked and couldn't react, she just looked down and at that moment something unexpected happened. Like the body acted on its own, Gray's member suddenly erected and stood in his full glory in front of the two mages.
It was Gray's turn to get shocked. It actually reacted at Juvia's body. Oh my God, this is bad. Why it reacted on Juvia? It's not like it reacted any other time I stripped! I was among girls in the guild and even then nothing like the sort happened. Erza, Mira, Lucy, Lisanna, Levy, Evergreen… so many beautiful girls. I felt like they were my sisters but they still were beautiful women. Every man would feel attracted to them, especially when he was in his birth suit. So why now? Maybe because we were alone in a room and in a questionable attire. And something could actually happen between us…
At that point Juvia started screaming. Gray was certain that everyone in Magnolia could hear them. "What did you do?" she asked still screaming. She grabbed the towel as quickly as she could and wrapped it around her torso, covering all of the body beneath it.
"I just proved my point that's all." Gray pretended like nothing major happened but he was still shocked that his body reacted to Juvia's body in a sexual way. And Juvia's body seemed to react at his body as well. He felt a sharp pain like a pinch on his nipples. Maybe Juvia wasn't over me as she said… Her body proved otherwise. A smile crept on Gray's lips suddenly feeling satisfaction. Satisfaction for what exactly? Why he was pleased that Juvia still was sexually attracted to him? He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he felt pleased.
"And you should strip me naked to do that?" Juvia's (actually Gray's body and currently Juvia's) cheeks were scarlet like the fire, nothing compared to Gray's blush before. Even for a male voice, it was actually pretty high, shaking windows.
"It's my body remember?" Gray was stating the obvious but Juvia's gaze was so serious that he felt like apologizing for speaking.
"For now it's Juvia's body." After feeling the warmth of the towel and the safety it provided, Juvia calmed down returning to her usual distant self. It's not like she didn't deserve it. She actually provoked Gray and she came asking for it. She should know that the size of men's members isn't a matter she should make fun of. And there she was teasing him and mocking him. She didn't know what actually got into her. She wasn't that kind of a girl and when she decided that she would get over Gray, she decided that she would stay cold and distant and she would try to freeze her feelings or make them disappear (like this could happen easily but at least she would try) . And now, mixed up in this messed up situation she suddenly became a naughty girl cracking jokes and making blunders. On top of that, she could see that nothing from what she wanted to achieve could be done. Her feelings for Gray slowly but steadily crawled back into her heart. It hurt her that they had to stay together until this problem was resolved because she knew that he couldn't be hers. He didn't want to. And she wouldn't force him anymore. Those two weeks were meant to be so difficult for her, a sentimental torment but she wouldn't show it in the very least. At least she would keep it hidden from him.
Juvia's facial expression changed and Gray sensed that something was off. From seeming angry, frustrated and ready to tear him apart, she suddenly seemed… hurt?
"Juvia are you ok?" he asked but she didn't answer. "Look, I am sorry for what I did. I am sure that it made you feel uncomfortable even though you are not in your body. This is your body until we figure this out so I didn't mean to make you feel violated or anything…"
"Don't worry about Juvia, Gray. She is fine." Juvia stooped and took the pieces of garment that were thrown on the floor and walked into her current room leaving a dumbfound Gray in the overall empty living room.
After this awkward incident between them, the mages stayed awake, not being able to sleep. The situation they were in wasn't something easy that they could easily brush off, there was a possibility (a big one at this point) to stay like this forever. Neither of them knew how to alter the outcome, they didn't think of the riddle at all during this day and they had only thirteen days left. Thirteen days, no more, no less. And the first day, mission's and riddle's aspect, was a failure.
Setting aside the riddle for a moment Gray thought of other things that should worry them. The interview at the Weekly Sorcerer popped into his mind and he sighed. He had to deal with that as well. He didn't know if Juvia would pull it through so the only thing he could do was to postpone the interview till further notice. But the reporter was a clingy one and she wanted this interview for this week's issue. Gray had tried to postpone it before as well, and the number of delays had reached its limits.
"We are gonna do this interview whether you want it or not." The woman had stated calmly with a tone that could send him the creeps. You don't want to mess with me, that's what her tone implied and he didn't want any more woman problems in his life. So he came along with the date she chose and he could do nothing to change that. The only solution he could think of was to ask the journalist to give him the list of questions with the excuse that he wanted to mentally prepare himself so he could "train" Juvia and make her say the answers he had written for her. Something like a memory autocue, planted in her brain. Juvia was smart so it could work. The interview could actually go smoothly, he thought and smiled pleased with his clever plans. His ego stats reached sky high levels as he thought he was a genius for thinking a plan like that.
One problem mentally solved, another one popped into his mind though, this one of romantic nature. Juvia's date. With Lyon of all people. This girl had a bad taste. How she, or anyone, could like this ice bastard that had nothing but snow for a brain? He might was handsome, but Gray was more handsome. Why she would want to lower her standards and actually accept a date with that freak? Nothing could be done at the moment, she had to reschedule. But what if she did reschedule? What if she actually went on a date with him? Remind me why you care, an inner voice asked him.
I don't care at all, she can do whatever she wants, Gray replied mentally and the voice laughed.
You totally convinced me buddy.
Can you please fuck off? Gray asked angrily and the voice laughed again.
As you wish. But allow me to give you a piece of advice. No matter what you do eventually you won't be able to avoid the truth.
What truth are you talking about?
It's up to you to find out.
I am starting to lose it. That's all. I have a conversation with a voice that exists only in my head. Well done Gray! Keep it up.
And you haven't seen anything yet. And the voice disappeared.
Day two and Juvia felt as blue as the darkest sky. Or the ocean that was yet fully explored, hiding so many surprises and dangers that man couldn't even begin to imagine… She barely slept last night but her luck of sleep didn't lead to exhaustion. Her stamina levels were sufficient, based on the circumstances. She got dressed with a pair of black pants and a white shirt she found in the closet and then went and washed her borrowed face. She looked for a moment in the mirror waiting to see blue cerulean eyes, light blue sea waves landing onto slender and feminine shoulders but instead she saw broad shoulders with fit muscles, raven black hair and dark blue eyes looking back at her. She examined the face and felt a scar beneath a strand of hair. Juvia wonders how Gray got that scar… Leaving the scar and looking into the mirror again she noticed something silver glowing through the slight opening of the shirt. This is Gray's sword necklace. It must be important to him because he wears it all the time. So Juvia has to cherish it like it was her own. She has to do that at least…
Juvia took a deep breath and the boy in the mirror seemed to calm down. It was a new day full of potential. She couldn't afford to stay blue because they had a deadline to catch. She exited the bathroom and found Gray wearing and apron and waiting for her in the kitchen.
"What are you doing exactly?" Juvia was too surprised to speak in third person, she couldn't believe what she saw. "Juvia's eyes play tricks on her?" She could never imagine that Gray would turn into a housewife and prepare breakfast. That was a spectacle that she had to capture but a camera was nowhere to be seen. Too bad.
"I prepared breakfast. What do you think I am doing?"
"Well, Juvia didn't think Gray-san would be into that..."
"You make it sound like it's some kind of a perverted fetish of mine."
"Please, Juvia didn't want to offend you." Juvia moved her hands awkwardly blushing.
"Don't worry about it. I know you find it hard to believe, but as a bachelor I have to take care of myself. That's why I learned to cook, to clean the house…"
"Juvia couldn't even imagine that Gray-san was so responsible."
Gray hit his hand on his forehead. "So that's your opinion of me."
"No," but Gray eyed her with a raised eye brow and she sighed in defeat "actually yes. Well Juvia thought that you were more like Natsu."
"You compare me to that irresponsible stupid flame brain?"
"She couldn't help it really. But that's great Gray-san! Good for you!" Juvia smacked his back approvingly but because she couldn't control her newly-acquired power she smacked her hand a little bit too powerfully on Gray's back and almost threw him onto the table. Gray barely managed to avoid hitting the table and he landed on his tiptoes on the last minute.
"Few, that was close. Please be careful Juvia." And Juvia thought that he would brag about his power and his body but she certainly didn't expect that answer. "I went through so much trouble to prepare breakfast." And he fixed his apron.
"Just to be certain, is Juvia talking to Gray Fullbuster? The ice mage?"
"Yes, of course. Why?"
"Because Juvia thought for a moment that she talked to another person."
"What exactly did you think of me?" Gray asked already giving up. He was certain he would hear something utterly disappointing and he wasn't in the mood for that. Juvia tried to talk but Gray hushed her putting one finger on her lips. "On a second thought, I don't want to hear it." When he realized what he did he took his finger away and sat on the table not looking at Juvia.
"Let's eat, shall we?" he asked while taking the fork in his hand.
"Yes, let's do that." Juvia agreed and the two mages ate their breakfast quietly.
The duo walked in total sync, silence hovering between them on their way to the guild. It was a bright and warm morning, with the sun glowing above their heads and the nature accompanying them in every single step. The moment they walked in, the looked around and realized that the guild was almost empty. Kinana was behind the bar and washed the dishes while Cana was drunk and fast asleep on a table with a barrel covering her head. Romeo and Wendy discussed in a corner silently and didn't notice them come and Carla read a book. Probably everyone else was on a mission. Fortunately, they spotted a certain script mage with her red reading glasses sitting in the corner and reading a huge book. Levy seemed to lack sleep, black circles were visible beneath her eyes. The mages approached her and when she sensed them she practically tore her eyes off the book and greeted them tiredly.
"Good morning Gray, Juvia."
"Good morning Levy-chan." Juvia smiled and Levy, still unfamiliar with the whole change-bodies-thing, looked at Juvia's body. Then she turned to Gray's body and smiled.
"Good morning Levy. What did you find?" Gray asked and Levy returned her gaze on the book.
"Practically nothing. I studied the book during the night. I didn't even sleep. But I couldn't find anything that could help you guys. The only answer to your problem is the riddle."
"So we stick to that huh?" Gray couldn't hide his disappointment, he didn't even try.
"As it seems, yes." Seeing disappointment in both of the mages pairs of orbs Levy hurried to reassure them.
"Don't worry, everything will work out in the end. We'll solve this…"
"Hello everyone. Where is my dearest Juvia-chan?" Levy's reassuring speech was interrupted by a certain ice mage that came through the door petrifying the two mages that suddenly froze to death.
A/N: And Lyon shows up uninvited and unannounced! A total surprise to Gray and Juvia! How will they react? Juvia and Lyon will eventually go on a date? And what about the interview in the Weekly sorcerer? I'll guess we'll find out in the next chapters! See you soon minna! Until the next chapter!
