Had to add this after tonight's episode. I think I'm finished with Degrassi now.

It's been months.

Cam's not exactly a forgotten relic among Degrassi's halls, but he's not the hot topic of conversation anymore. One could now walk into a classroom and not hear Campbell's name mentioned once. It's not a far cry to go to lunch without talk of the 'suicide guy' on students' lips.

It's a bit refreshing for Cam, as all that attention was uncomfortable. He didn't like being talked about while he was alive; being able to hear all the comments and not be able to interfere in the slightest after death was just irritating.

He supposes it's best that he's forgotten. J.T. has a garden dedicated to him. Rick's the reason for the strong anti-bullying campaigns. Claude's remembered by the principal of the school.

Cam will be forgotten the moment Maya's class graduates, and he's okay with that.

He spends his days watching over Maya, making sure she's safe in Degrassi. His sentry is only limited to daytime, of course, so he had no idea what she went through at night.

Does she miss him like he misses her? Probably not, but he wants to think that way. He wants to think that perhaps her heart does ache when she thinks of him, that she cries sometimes when watching the video he left on her phone. He doesn't want to cause her pain, but at the same time, he wants her to feel something.

It's probably selfish of him to think so.

So he sits in class with Maya most days, pretending he's alive again. When she smiles at Tristan, he pretends she's smiling at him. It's awfully lonely in death, but at least he's not completely alone.

His new friends are a bit rough around the edges, but honestly, he has come to regard them as family. Julia was his favorite, probably; she was very loving and motherly towards him.

Unfortunately, when Eli graduated, so did she.

She has moved on – to where, he doesn't know. Whether she is in the afterlife or with Eli wherever he is, Cam hopes she's happy and safe. He owes her for calming him down after his death, and providing him with a safe place to cry when he needed it.

He misses her.

Though... death is full of losses.

And one day, when Claude approaches him with a somber expression on his ghostly face, Cam realizes just that all over again.

"Kid..." the man begins, closing his eyes in thought before he can continue.

Cam scowls. "Clause, it's been months. Can't you just call me Cam?"

"You're a lot younger than me," Claude reminds him, "so I'd say 'kid' is a compliment. Anyway..." He frowns.

The boy blinks, unsure of what to say to prompt the other. "Um... what's the matter?" He can tell something's wrong. Usually, it's J.T. inviting him to things, or informing him of any Degrassi events coming up (as if, somehow, Cam isn't able to hear them announced himself).

But now it's Claude coming to him – the man whose life ended very similarly to Cam's. They're both suicide victims, the pressure and silent pain claiming their lives in the end. Naturally, due to this, Cam feels a slight kinship with Claude. The older man – boy, technically – knows what it's like to go through that.

He wasn't killed by accident or murdered – just like Cam.

So, his eyes wide, he asks, "Claude, what's wrong?"

He wonders, briefly, if Claude is going to leave this place too. Will J.T. and Rick be next, leaving Cam all alone? Will he wander the halls of Degrassi in solitude, left to regret his actions with no one around to tourniquet the wounds on his wrists, leaving him to bleed out and fade into nothing?

Granted, he's probably just being dramatic, but...

"Claude?"

The black-haired man snaps out of his thoughts. "Oh, uh. Sorry, kid. Listen... do you remember who grabbed you when you died?"

Of course he does. He will never forget it. "Yes. Julia, right?"

"Yeah. She was the last to die before you. It's sort of a tradition around here that the most recent death greet the new one. Though... she carried you in here instead of introducing herself. Can't blame her; you were in shock."

Cam swallows hard – funny how he can still do normal, 'living' things, now that he's not alive. "What's this got to do with me, though? I remember it, yeah, but-"

"I'm getting to that. Hold on," Claude interrupts, making Cam shut his mouth instantly. After a moment of silence, he simply says, "It's your turn, now."

He doesn't need to elaborate further. Cam understands, and his wrists start to throb. His legs tremble and he nearly falls to his knees, his vision blurring.

"I- S-someone...?"

"Yes. And it's your job to get them and bring them here. They're outside the school now."

"W-who is it?"

"I think you may know him..."

Him. So it's not Maya. For an instant, Cam feels relief. But what if it's Zig or Tristan?

"He was your upperclassman, I believe. I don't know the details very well, sorry – can't keep track of anyone but Snake nowadays."

Cam shakes his head. "I-it's okay. I don't blame you. I'll... go get him."

With a nod and a slight smile on his mustached face, Claude disappears into thin air. Cam is still not used to that 'disappearing act,' as J.T. calls it. They're all able to vanish and reappear in other places in no time at all. Then again, maybe it did take a while – time means nothing in death.

The boy sighs, fading away to the front steps of Degrassi. He recalls sitting here with boxes of food, waiting for Maya. He remembers Zig taunting him and feeling himself fall into the darkness. The rest is a blur, though it ends with a blade and tons of blood. Cam suppresses a shiver as he looks around for whoever can see him.

There. Cam notices him right away, and rushes over.

The newest victim is curled up in a tight ball, blood soaked through his hair. His eyes are closed, eyelids and cheeks bruised and broken as he raggedly breathes. He's bandaged all over, and looks... very frail. Cam is afraid of breaking him as he bends down and shakes one of his shoulders.

The boy's eyes snap open at the touch, fear laced through the irises. He manages to stagger to a sitting position, glancing up at Cam with owlish eyes.

Cam recognizes him as Adam, a junior. He's Eli's friend, isn't he? And the student council president's younger brother. He was an inspiration, standing up against those wanting to hurt him just for being different. He was... too young to die.

But Adam clearly didn't do this to himself – by the looks of it, it was a car wreck that did him in – and for that, Cam is a bit relieved. Adam doesn't have to go through the aftermath of suicide. But the most difficult part is still coming for him, regardless of how he died. He must face the day of his death alone, seeing how the world moves on without him.

Thankfully, Adam will have four others to return to once he sees his loved ones suffering. Cam will make sure Adam's not alone.

He offers a hand to the boy, a gentle smile on his face.

"...Hi there. Welcome."
