That evening I had my ship prepared to go find Anakin when Padme and Captain Typhoo came running onto the platform.

"What are you two doing here?" I asked.

"We're coming with you." Padme said.

"Thank you, but this is something I have to do on my own. Besides, there's no fighting where I'm going. I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?" Typhoo asked.

"I am. Don't worry, 3PO will look after me."

We said our good-byes and 3PO and I went on the ship.

As we got ready to take off and I kept thinking about what I was going to do when I found Anakin. I hoped that Obi-Wan was wrong and that there was something I could do to make him realize what was happening to him and come back to me. I just pray that it wasn't too late.

We landed on Mustafar; I didn't know why Anakin would be here. This was rumored to be a Trade Federation base.

When I saw Anakin come out of a building I rushed out to meet him.

"I saw your ship," he said when he hugged me," what are you doing out here?"

"I needed to see you. I saw Obi-Wan; he told me about the chancellor, who he really is. And what you've done."

"What did he say?"

"He said that you've turned to the dark side," I swallowed," Anakin, tell me the truth."

"Obi-Wan is trying to turn you against me."

"He wouldn't do that; he cares about us."

"Us?"

"He knows, and, no, I didn't tell him. He figured it out," I explained, "Ani, he wants to help you. Let both of us help you."

"I need to help you Shandra. Only my new powers can save you."

"Anakin, listen to me, please. What you are doing is wrong; I know the kind of person you are and it isn't this. Someone that hurts people and… kills younglings. Please, don't do this."

"I won't lose you the way I lost my mother. I am becoming more powerful than any Jedi ever dreamed of, and I'm doing this for you. To protect you."

"You don't have to do this. We can leave, go somewhere where we'll be safe and can raise our child- like we planned."

"Don't you see? We don't have to run away anymore. I have brought peace to the Republic. I am more powerful than the chancellor, I-I can overthrow him. And together you and I can rule the galaxy… make things the way we want them to be."

I couldn't believe what I heard; it was true.

Anakin had turned to the Dark Side and now- now I felt like I didn't know him.

"Obi-Wan was right; you've changed."

"I don't want to hear anymore about Obi-Wan," he said, "the Jedi have already turned against me, don't you turn against me too."

"I would never do that, and you know it. But I feel like I don't know you anymore. You said that you did this to protect me, but it's hurting me- seeing what you've turned into," I said, "I can't follow you down this path."

"Because of Obi-Wan?"

"Because of what you've done and what you plan to do," I explained, "please, just-just come back. It's not too late."

"Liar!"

I turned and saw Obi-Wan stepping out of the ship.

"You stowed away?! I told you I'd talk to him."

"You're with him! You brought him here to kill me!"

"No!" I felt my throat tighten as he used his new powers to choke me.

"Let her go Anakin!" Obi-Wan ordered.

"Anakin, please." I struggled out.

I saw something in his eyes; they weren't as hard, like the old Anakin was fighting to come back.

He loosened his hand the grip on my throat was gone as I fell to the ground unconscious.
