Two months later:

Luke and Elsa made the final kiss that sealed their union as husband and wife. The couple had chosen to have the wedding prior to the impending birth of their baby. Their child was due on any day and Luke and Elsa had decided to marry a month into their relationship.

Luke noticed his parents and relatives watching the wedding. He noticed Leia and Mara both smiling as he stepped down from the alter with his new wife. The two girls had quickly accepted Elsa into the family and Luke knew that Elsa was shocked by how she had been accepted.

He embraced Han and Chewie and his father as Elsa followed him. The couple had decided to wait on a honeymoon until the baby was born. They were both excited. Luke still was shocked that Elsa had forgiven him for all that he had done to her.

As the wedding ceremony commenced, Luke and Elsa enjoyed the festivities from a distance.

Anakin looked at Padme and spoke, "I'm glad that he has chosen to be a man."

"I'm glad that he's taking care of Elsa, I adore her."

"She's a wonderful girl, she just needed a family and now she has one."

"Our family seems to find a lot of those," Padme stated with a smile.

"It's strange but you're right. And none of them can get away from us even if they want to."

Padme giggled as her father approached her. She noticed Eli and Luke talking as Mara and Elsa headed off to the buffet table together with Leia.

At the same time, Padme noticed Obi-Wan and Ahsoka laughing with Shmi at the table that they had chosen together.

The next morning, Luke and Elsa walked into the local cafe that was in downtown Theed for breakfast. "I think waiting on a honeymoon until we have the baby is a wise choice," Elsa stated.

"I can't believe that she has taken this long," Luke stated.

Elsa sat down with Luke as she noticed a very old woman approaching the table.

"It is nice to see the Queen's son settling down with a family after such a horrible war," stated the kind old woman.

"It had to be done," Luke replied.

"I hope you have many happy years together."

At the same time Luke noticed a table full of several women who were whispering to one another.

He shook his head as he noticed his parents being seated at a booth that was at the far side of the room.

"My parents had the same idea, Mara and Leia are even with them."

"They didn't come to say hi?" Elsa asked.

"I think they want to give us space," Luke replied.

Anakin had just placed his order when Mara let out a sigh, "Here she comes."

"Who?" Anakin asked.

"My grandmother, my father's mother."

Anakin noticed an older woman with long grey hair approaching the table.

She looked at him in disgust as she spoke, "I've heard that you allowed your son to marry a nobody, a woman with no family name and no past. I heard she was a street kid. How can you allow your son to marry a nobody and disgrace you?"

"Because the Skywalker's aren't backwards and ignorant like you," Mara interjected.

Lady Jade glared at her granddaughter in anger as Padme spoke, "Mara is right."

"And when will you be married Mara?"

"I'm a Jedi Knight, my commitments are to the Order not to myself."

"You have to carry on your lineage and your father's legacy young lady."

"That means nothing to me. And I'm living a life that many can only dream of living. My father would have wanted me to do what I want to do with my life instead of what is expected. I won't be married any time in the foreseeable future," Mara replied with a sneer.

"The Jedi Order now allows Marriage you should..."

"No, I will do what I want with my life and I have no desire to be a part of that. If I wanted to I could leave the order and live my entire life off of my father's inheritance without a husband. He left me everything. I don't need you in my life or anyone. My father told me that I can only have a relationship with my aunt and no one for your family," Mara stated.

Lady Jade let out an angry sigh as she turned to Anakin and Padme who were covering their mouths in order to hide their laughter.

"I think that you should leave," Anakin stated as he let his laughter out.

The snob glared at Anakin and Padme before looking at her daughter. She then left the cafe in disgust.

Luke walked by his family with Elsa at his side as he spoke, "Who was that that you were arguing with?" Luke asked as he looked at Mara.

"My grandmother," Mara replied.

Luke nodded as he led Elsa out of the cafe.

"As I recall her father's mother issn't a very pleasant individual," Elsa stated.

"No one from the Jade family is aside from Kyle's sister. She's been to our house a few times. She is a good friend of my mother's," Luke replied.

Two days later, Luke found himself inside of Theed Medical center with Elsa resting at his side as he held their new daughter, Elena Skywalker.

Luke looked down at the tiny blonde haired blue eyed baby as Elsa slept.

Elena had surprised them in the night.

Luke looked down at his beautiful daughter in shame. He had almost caused her death. he had almost left Elena and Elsa to die on the streets of Coruscant. He had done so many evil things in the last year that he felt unworthy to be Elsa's husband.

At that moment, a nurse who was about six years older than Luke opened the door.

"Your parents are here."

"Let them in," Luke replied.

Elsa opened her eyes as her father and mother in law entered the room with Leia and Mara.

Padme eagerly took her first grandchild in her arms as Elsa watched.

Padme looked down at Elena and spoke, "She has your hair Elsa, I think she has your face too but she certainly has the Skywalker eyes."

"A copy of me minus my brown eyes," Elsa said.

"That's about right," Anakin replied as Elena was passed to his waiting arms.

Luke looked back at Elsa, their relationship wasn't perfect and he had caused her more pain than anyone could imagine. However he also realized that many of his mistakes were like that of his father's.

He had a feeling that the best was yet to come in their lives. He had no idea how many trials he would have in his life.

A few days later, Luke heard a knock on the door of his home. Elsa had just tucked Elena into bed and he was getting ready to make dinner when he heard the knock.

He opened the door to the sight of his grandmother.

"I wanted to see Elena," Shmi stated.

"Come on in," Luke replied.

Shmi followed her grandson into the house as she spoke, "I love what you've done with this place."

"It doesn't look too bad does it?"

"Not for two kids with a baby," Shmi stated.

"Kids?" Luke asked.

"Luke you're sixteen and she's twenty two. You're a very young father and she's a young mother."

"You were my age when you married my grandfather weren't you?"

"Yes," Shmi replied as she heard the sounds of Elena crying.

She noticed Elsa emerging from her bedroom with Elena.

"For now we keep her in our room with us," Elsa stated.

"Elsa is pretty strict on how she is cared for."

"Padme was telling me that you are already an excellent mother," Shmi stated as Elsa passed the baby to her.

"I do my best," Elsa replied.

Anakin and Padme looked at the large table that was already set. It was six months to the day of Elena's birth and it was a warm day in the spring.

Anakin noticed his brother, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and Leia and Padme's family already filing into the room.

As everyone took their seats, he noticed Luke and Elsa entering the room.

He noticed Elena resting in Elsa's arms. In the previous months Anakin and Padme had concluded that between Luke and Elsa, Elsa was in fact the better parent. Luke wasn't a bad father but he still wasn't as responsible or as mature as Elsa and he wasn't the best father. Elsa did the majority of the parenting. She did a great job as a mother and Anakin was thankful that Elena had such a wonderful mother.

It was an hour after dinner, Luke had Elena and was socializing with his cousins.

It was then that Anakin and Padme found time to talk with Elsa.

Elsa assisted her father and mother in law with the dishes as Anakin spoke, "It seems like every time that I see you and Luke going somewhere you're the one holding Elena."

Elsa frowned as Padme spoke, "It just seems like you do seventy percent of the parenting."

"I do," Elsa replied.

"Why don't you have Luke do more?" Anakin asked.

"He has to go on missions and Elena often knows that he's too stupid to know what she wants. He helps."

"Not as much as he could, I see him going out to the races with Han on nights when he could be home with you."

"He's sixteen it's not like he chose to be a parent. I'm not asking him to give up his youth to be a father."

"That's what he should do," Anakin replied.

"You want him to do that?" Elsa asked.

"You're a wonderful mother," Padme stated as she sat down on the stool that was next to Elsa.

"You're a wonderful mother and you do everything for that baby. To me it seems as though Luke is just letting you do everything. You don't need to be his slave," Padme stated.

Elsa looked at Anakin and Padme as she spoke, "So what do I do tell him to do more? What happens when he says no? It's not going to get me anywhere."

"So you're letting him tell you what to do?" Anakin asked.

"All my life I've had someone telling me what to do. In the orphanage it was my abusive brother. And in my Imperial Career there was someone that always outranked me and now Luke."

Anakin shook his head, "I'm going to have to have a talk with him."

Eli noticed Luke walking away from his father in obvious agitation as Anakin walked up to his side.

"What was it now?"

"Just talking to him about how much he needs to step up more."

"How did he take it?" Obi-Wan asked as he joined the two brothers.

"He seemed to take it just fine. We'll see what happens."

Han walked up to Luke as he spoke, "Chewie and I are going to the race tonight. Want to join us?"

Luke looked down at Elena who was asleep on his shoulder and then he turned to Elsa as he spoke, "No Han not tonight, I've got to get them home."

"Well next time then," Han replied.

Luke nodded as he wrapped his arm around Elsa.

He walked his wife out of the house and towards their own house.

As the couple entered their house. Luke headed towards Elena's crib

He gently laid his daughter down in the crib as he turned to see Elsa changing into a nightgown.

"Did my parents talk to you tonight?" Luke asked.

"About something?" Elsa asked.

"Yes," Luke replied.

"Yeah I told them that it was no big deal."

"Am I not doing enough?" Luke asked.

Elsa shook her head, "Luke I'm six years older than you. That is six more years of maturity than you have. You are only sixteen for Force sakes. It's not like you asked for this. Help me as much as you can but I don't mind doing most of the parenting. I love our daughter and we have a roof over our heads and we have food. What more do I need?" Elsa asked as she kissed her husband's cheek.

Luke ran his hands up and down Elsa's sides as he felt lust flowing through him.

"I'm sorry, you probably feel used by me too."

Elsa shook her head, "You're only sixteen you probably are still filled with raging hormones. And I'm your wife our relationship isn't perfect Luke."

Elsa paused before she gave him a firm kiss on the lips, "I forgave you for everything. You are a good husband. You've had your moments Luke. What you did to me is the past."

"I cannot comprehend leaving you like that. I don't deserve what I have now."

Elsa pulled her husband towards the bed as she spoke, "Let's just watch something on the holonet. We can make love and forget all that you have done to me. I've forgiven you. I always will forgive you just as your mother forgave your father for his atrocious actions."

"I'm so filthy though," Luke replied.

"I don't see you as filthy. I see my husband and the father of my child. Come now," Elsa replied.

Anakin stepped into his bedroom with Lana in his arms.

He noticed Padme already sitting on the bed.

"We sure do like to spoil our babies don't we Ani?"

Anakin placed Lana in the crib that was next to the bed as he spoke, "It's nice to be able to get them the moment that they are awake. I love being a father."

"And now we are slowing down aren't we?"

"I think we have enough years ahead of us to enjoy them."

"Lana is already spoiled by Leia," Padme added.

"I have a feeling that the identity of her master has already been determined."

"Leia?" Padme asked.

"Yes," Anakin replied.

Anakin sat down on the bed with Padme as he spoke, "Elsa is a very good thing for Luke. Otherwise he would be wallowing in drugs and misery about now."

"He's not perfect Anakin but neither were you."

Anakin shook his head as he looked into his wife's eyes.

"I was worse. I raped you, I beat you I made you feel like you weren't anything besides a commodity. I treated you like trash and there were points when I enjoyed it. I had lived such a filthy life before I met you and what did I do? I hurt you in unspeakable ways. Do you not remember all that I did to you?"

Padme looked into Anakin's eyes as she spoke, "I remember it all too well."

"And yet you chose to love me and be my wife. How is it that you could love me after all that I did to you?" Anakin asked as he looked into her eyes.

"I think that a part of me bound to you when I was your slave. Perhaps it was stockholm syndrome. I just bound to you and started to love you. Another part of it was probably my childhood infatuation with you. Above all I would say it was forgiveness. One of the reasons that I'm so close to Elsa is because she forgave Luke in the same way that I forgave you."

"You and I both know that Elsa craved love as much as we did after the life that she lived."

Padme nodded as she spoke, "It is why she is such a perfect addition to this family. Our family is a family that I love. I cannot imagine life without our family," Padme stated.

"As much as it hurts to say this, I wish that I could thank Wilhuff Tarkin. Had he not bought you as my gift I would not have all of this," Anakin stated with a smile.

"There are times when I wish that I could thank him," Padme replied.

Anakin wrapped his arms around Padme. He looked into her eyes and the couple bursted into laughter as they thought of how things had started.

"I cannot imagine my life without your mother, my father and my sister and her family, Ardus, Eli and his family and our children and Mara and Han and Chewie not to mention Ahsoka and Obi-Wan and don't forget Elsa and Elena. By buying me and giving me to you Tarkin in a way gave me a gift. You have given me everything and even our droids are a part of our family."

Anakin felt himself struggling to contain the laughter as he looked at his wife, "It is so ironic when you think of it. Your mother wanted you to have the life that she wanted you to have. In the end you still got everything that you wanted."

"She ended up learning her lesson."

"Panaka too, I just heard that he lost his appeal that was before the Queen today."

Padme shook her head in disgust, "I'm surprised that he even tried."

"The people still adore you."

"They always will since I wasn't a disappointment. Of course they wish that I had stayed in politics but a lot of the older politicians have told me that if they could go back they would do things the way that I did them. I love my family more than politics," Padme stated as she looked down at Lana's crib.

Anakin looked out of the window towards Luke and Elsa's home as he looked back at his wife, "Angel, I was a fallen Jedi Knight who was clothed in darkness when we first met. I was lost and my soul was far from the light. There was no hope for me but you saved me. And you healed me even after all that I did to you. I owe you so much that is why I have done my best to serve you since the day that we married. Now we must move forward with our family. I feel like a storm may be on the horizon."

"Yes, whatever comes our way we can face it," Padme replied.

Anakin gave his wife one last kiss as he thought of all that they had gone through together.

This fic is complete. Thank you to all who have read and reviewed. I am glad that I managed to get it done over winter break as I hoped. I hope that you enjoyed reading this fic I know it's one of my darker stories although most of my stuff is kind of dark. For those of you wondering about what's next here's the deal, I start school two mondays from now. It will be a heavy course load and my updates will probably be pretty sporadic. I don't update as often as I used to because of how much busier my life has become. I have been working on DSRII and about three other Star Wars fics. Not sure when DSRII will be ready. I have at least two fics that could be on here but I'm thinking DSRII will be on here late in the semester or towards summer. I could post a new fic sooner or later but just know that updates will get slow after the Semester will start. As for this fic, you may notice that it is open for a sequel and I do have an idea for a sequel but not sure if I will or won't do it. Currently there is no sequel in the works but it doesn't mean there won't be one. That is all for now.
