Chapter 36
Serena's point of view
fourteen years later (Serena and Jake are 33)

It's been fourteen years since Jake and I got married. We're still happily married and happen to have seven wonderful, but sometimes trouble making, children. And not to mention two sets of twins! It's a little, well a lot, crazy but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jacob Junior Ryan Black and Harley Ann Black were born on July 15, 2010. They're our first set of twins and oldest kids. Jacob Junior or also known as JJ is just like his father. Harley is our beautiful young girl and helps me out when I need it, she's a good girl. They're both thirteen now and growing up so fast!

Andrew Carter Black was born on November 3, 2012. Andrew is a smart kid who loves sports and wrestling with his dad and uncles. He hopes to be a wolf one day just like his father. He's eleven and we're hoping he doesn't phase until he's at least sixteen.

Winter Rose Black was born on January 1, 2015. She has been imprinted on much to Jake's anger. But we're okay with it now. Winter has my silver blue eyes and that's part of the reason I named her Winter. She's nine now but seems older because she's very mature for her age.

Hazel Sophia Black was born March 29, 2017. Hazel has her father's eyes and is one of four of daddy's little girls. She gets away with lots of things just like her younger sister. She's seven and is taking the world by storm.

William Joshua Black and Sarah Allison Black were born on October 10, 2019. They're our last set of twins and last children. They're a bundle of joy but a hand full! At age five William is a crazy boy who loves getting into trouble and messing with his sisters, especially his twin. Sarah is more calm but can have a little temper like her parents.

Sam and Emily ended up having one more child, a girl named Molly. So they have Brian, who's fourteen, Audrey who's twelve, and Molly who's nine. Sam stopped phasing years ago so he can grow old with Emily.

Embry and Rain married the following year as us on Valentines day. They have two daughters now, April and May. April's twelve and May's eight. Embry's stopped phasing and still hasn't told his mother about the secret. Rain is a photographer now and has some of her work put in a museum in Seattle. I'm so proud of her!

Mom met someone named Brad and they seem to be in love. They've been dating for four years and live together. Brad's getting ready to propose to mom, he just asked Sam and I for permission. He loves all of us and fits in well. I know he and mom will be happy together.

Paul and Rachel had four kids, three boys and one girl. Max is thirteen, Conner is eleven, Leo is nine, and Kristen is seven. She's daddy's little girl and her older brothers are already protective of her. She's going to be a heart breaker when she gets older. Paul stopped phasing right after Sam did.

Jared and Kim are married and have two kids, a boy and a girl. Their eldest, Michael, is ten, and their daughter, Harmony, is six. Jared's not phasing anymore and stopped around the same time as Paul.

Leah and Drew have a daughter named Elizabeth who is thirteen and just like her mother. Leah's finally happy and you can't even believe she was ever sad. She got her happily ever after and she so deserves it.

Quil and Claire are dating since she's now sixteen. They're so cute together and I can see Claire's frustration. Quil still sometimes thinks of Claire as a little girl but she's not anymore. She wants Quil to see her as a young adult and not a little girl who he is just friends with. I along with the other girls are helping Claire spice up her look to get Quil's attention. Rain can't wait to take a picture of Quil's face when he sees Claire.

Seth, Brady, and Collin found their imprints and are now super happy. Seth is married to his imprint Sandy and they have a daughter named Chloe who is three. Collin is dating his imprint Olivia and Brady is friends with his imprint, Winter my daughter. Yep Brady imprinted on our second daughter. Jake got super mad and phased and bit Brady's leg which made Winter cry and ended up stopping Jake because he didn't want to see his baby girl cry. At first Jake and I weren't super happy about it but we're okay now. We know Brady will do anything for Winter and won't hurt her. They're just friends now and it's going to be that way until she's thirty, well that's what Jake says.

Other boys have phased but no girls. Seth's now the alpha since all the older wolves have retired. He'll retire in a few years and hand the alpha position down to Brady or Collin. The Cullen's haven't returned and we haven't seen them since the newborn battle.

Jake still works at the pack garage with the boys while I work at my new art gallery. I just opened it last year since the kids are older now I can work. I sell my work there and I also sell some of Rain's work. A lot of people seem to like my work and have asked me to do portraits of them or their family which I accept. I love it and hope more people continue to like my work. We still go to Pac Beach every once and a while with the kids and they love it. We also have three dogs, all German Shepards. We found a male black German Shepard in the forest and he was guarding two puppies, his. We couldn't find the momma anywhere. They quickly attached themselves to us and pretty soon they were ours. Duke it the daddy and the two female puppies are Pepper and Ginger. We love them and they're apart of the family.

I'm at the store with all the kids because Jake is at some pack meeting. Even though he stooped phasing he helps out the younger pups and teaches them things. They all look up to him, he's an elder now and tells the legends with his father. Everyone loves it, including me.

"Alright kiddos daddy, uncle Sam, and uncle Embry should be here in a little so just stay in here until they come. Okay?" I ask my kids. I'm putting them in my office so they don't bug the customers.

"Okay mom." they all say but William.

"William do you understand?" I ask.

"Yes momma." he smirks. Like I can trust that face.

"Watch him." I mouth to Harley and JJ. They nod and I leave the office. I go to the front desk and work on a drawing i started last night. The bell above the door chimes signaling someone has come in.

"Hello and welcome to..." I trail off looking at the customer. I gulp as he locks eyes with me.

"Serena?" dad asks. Why do we always have to meet somewhere with art?

"Yes father it's me." I answer.

"You look so grown up." he says coming closer. I leave the desk and walk over to him.

"Well I am thirty-three now, not that you knew that." I say. And I do have five kids that keep me busy.

"I knew that Serena. Sam is thirty-eight and Embry is thirty-three." he says and my eyes widen a little. I didn't think he'd remember.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I was just passing by and heard that this art gallery was amazing so I thought I'd check it out. I never knew you were an artist, and a good one at that." he says.

"Ya well if you stuck around maybe..." I trail off as noise fills the air.

"William get back here!" JJ yells.

"Na na na na you can't catch me!" William yells entering the room running.

"William." Harley groans holding a sleepy Sarah.

"William Joshua Black!" I yell and he stops dead in his tracks. He looks at me with fright in his eyes.

"I thought I told you to stay in the room with your siblings?" I ask.

"You did." he says guiltily.

"Then why didn't you?" I ask kneeling down in front of him.

"Because I wanted to have fun." he says.

"Well when daddy gets here you can have fun with your cousins and uncles. Remember we're having a BBQ at uncle Sam's tonight." I say and his eyes light up. I guess he forgot.

"Yay!" he cheers.

"But if you continue to be a bad boy you won't go." I say and he frowns.

"I'll be a good boy momma." he says and I smile.

"Good now go back into the office." I say and he walks over to JJ who takes him back to the office with everyone else. I sigh standing up.

"William Joshua Black?" dad questions and I turn to him.

"Yes." I answer.

"You're married to that Black kid aren't you?" he asks.

"Yes I'm married to Jacob Black dad. And yes I named William's middle name after you." I say and he smiles.

"Thank you." he says.

"Well he only has one grandmother and grandfather around so I figured he should have something from his other grandfather." I shrug.

"Still thank you." he says and I nod.

"So you drew all these?" he asks referring to all the drawings.

"Yes and the photographs are done by my best friend." I answer.

"They're all really amazing." he says.

"Thank you." I say.

"There's a lot of wolves." he says looking at the different wolf drawings.

"Well our ancestors were wolves dad." I say.

"Yes they were." he says thinking. Did he ever know the legends were true. "What do you think of the legends?" he asks.

"I think they're amazing." I answer.

"Hmm." he replies looking over some of the other art work. "I'll take this one." he says picking up a drawing of the forest with the cliffs. I take the drawing and ring it up on the cash register.

"That'll be thirty-five dollars please." I say.

"Here you go." dad says handing me the correct amount.

"Thank you and have a nice day." I say with a small smile handing him his bag.

"Thank you Serena. I guess I'll see you around." he says and goes to leave.

"Wait." I call and he turns back around.

"Yes?" he asks. I dig through my bag and find what I'm looking for. I walk over to my father and hand him the picture Rain recently took a picture of. It's a family picture of Jake and I's family, Sam and Emily's, and Rain and Embry's family including mom and Tiffany.

"I want you to keep this." I say.

"Is this your family?" he asks.

"Yes." I say and name out everyone.

"Thank you Serena." he says when I finish.

"You're welcome." I say. "Whenever you're back in town come on down here and we can talk for a little." I say and he smiles.

"That'd be great." he says. He leans down and hugs me. I hug back. I know he hurt us all but I can see that he's lonely and he's missing out on all his grandkids so it's the least I can do. The bell chimes and I hear growls. Uh oh. I look to the door and find Jake, Embry, and Sam. Oh this isn't good.

"Serena." Jake growls and grabs me placing me behind him.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Embry growls knowing who this is. Sam hasn't seen dad since he left when we were young so he probably doesn't know ho this is.

"Embry just calm down and I'll explain." I say.

"Who is this Serena?" Sam asks.

"Is that you Samuel?" dad asks and Sam looks at dad. He sees the resemblance and growls.

"Is that you father?" Sam glares.

"Yes." dad says.

"What are you doing here near my wife and kids?" Jake growls.

"He just was in town and heard about my store Jake, it's okay. I'm okay and so are the kids." I say which calms him down some.

"I was just passing by and heard of this place and decided to check it out. I never even knew Serena was an artist, let alone an amazing one." dad says and I smile. "I'd just bought a drawing and was on my way out before you arrived." he continues. He looks down at me and I give him a small smile. "Thank you and it was good seeing you all again. Goodbye." he says and leaves. I watch as he gets into a truck and heads down the road. I sigh and turn to my husband and brothers.

"Are you okay?" Sam asks.

"Yes Sam I'm fine. We just talked." I say.

"Where's the kids?" Embry asks.

"In the office." I answer and he and Sam go the get them. I hear the kids loud screams and know they're excited to see their uncles. I smile and chuckle as Embry and Sam come back our with William, Andrew, and Hazel on them. Harley is holding a sleeping Sarah and JJ is giving Winter a piggyback.

"Bye mommy love you!" the kids yell as they head out to Sam and Embry's trucks.

"Bye love you." I say kissing their heads as they leave. I turn to Jake and he leans down to kiss me.

"How long do you have to stay here?" he asks rubbing his forehead against mine.

"A few hours but I'll be back in time for the BBQ." I answer.

"Want some company?" he smirks.

"The kids want to play with you, especially William." I say.

"Okay then." he pouts.

"Don't worry we can have some time alone tonight. The kids are going to spend the night at Sam and Emily's so we'll have to whole house to ourselves." I say and he smirks no doubt thinking dirty thoughts.

"Can't wait." he kisses me.

"Come on daddy!" William yells walking back into the store. I chuckle breaking away from Jake.

"Alright sport." Jake says picking him up and turning him upside down. William laughs as I smile.

"I'll see you later." Jake says kissing me lightly before heading to Embry's truck.

Hours later I arrive at Sam and Emily's where almost everyone is.

"Mommy!" Sarah yells and runs over to me. I smile and pick her up into my arms.

"How's my little angel?" I ask kissing her head.

"Good! Aunty Emily is making cookies and I'm helping!" she cheers smiling.

"That's great." I say.

"Oh no I left the cookies alone with aunt Emily! William could get them!" she shouts and wiggles out of my arms and back into the kitchen. I chuckle at her and head into the backyard where mostly everyone is.

"There she is!" Brady says with Winter in his arms.

"Took her long enough." Collin mutters and I roll my eyes.

"Some of us have to work." I say.

"Hey I work!" he defends and we laugh. I kiss Jake on the cheek and he wraps his arms around me.

"Busy?" he asks.

"Yep, lots of customers." I answer and he smiles kissing my temple. Jake's been really supportive about my career and helps anyway he can. He always tells me how proud he is of me, it's nice to hear.

"Cookies!" Sarah yells walking outside with Emily, cookies in their hands.

"Yum!" William yells and goes up to his twin.

"Mommy is William allowed to have one since he was bad in the store?" Sarah asks looking at me and keeping the cookies from her twin.

"William did you learn you lesson?" I ask looking to my youngest son.

"Yes momma I did and won't do it again." he says and I smile.

"Then yes Sarah he can have one." I answer and she hands him one.

"Thank you mommy. And thank you aunt Emily and Sarah for the cookies." he thanks and I smile as does Sarah.

"You're welcome Willy." she says and kisses his cheek.

"EW!" he yells and quickly wipes it off as we laugh at them.

"Come with me." Jake whispers into my ear.

"The kids." I ask.

"The others will watch them." he says and I nod. Jake takes my hand and leads me into the forest and onto the beach.

"Can you believe everything that's happened to us?" he asks.

"I know, it's kinda surreal." I answer.

"I wouldn't change any of it though. Except I wouldn't be a jerk to you." he says. Jake still hasn't forgiven himself for the hurt he caused me years ago.

"I wouldn't." I say and he looks at me confused. "If none of it happened we wouldn't be as strong as we are today Jake. Because of that we're stronger and love each other more." I say. "If things didn't happen like they did who knows what might be different now. Even though I was hurt I'm not anymore. I've forgiven you and wouldn't change anything. Everything is how it's supposed to be and I'm happy." I say and he smiles down at me.

"I'm happy too. You and the kids are the best thing in my life. I love you guys so much and would do anything for you." he says leaning his head on mine.

"I know you would and appreciate it." I say.

"I love you Serena." Jake says looking into my eyes.

"And I love you Jacob." I say and he kisses me. I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist pulling me close.

"EW!"

"Awww!" voices yell and Jake and I break apart. We laugh at our children, the girls are smiling and the boys are disgusted. I can see Brady and Collin with the kids smirking at Jake and I.

"Daddy girls have cooties!" William yells.

"Not mommy." Jake says smirking at me. The kids walk over to us and I hold William in my arms while Jake holds Sarah.

"I think it's romantic." Winter sighs.

"Ya." Hazel agrees.

"I don't mind unless we're near them." Andrew says.

"I think it's sweet and romantic. They're in love and should express it." Harley says and I smile at my oldest. She has her eyes on a boy in her class and is dying to know if he likes her or not.

"I'm with Andrew." JJ says.

"Well then close your eyes because I'm about to do it again." Jake says and leans down to kiss me.

"EW!" William screams and jumps out of my arms running back into the forest where Collin and Brady are.

"Bye." JJ and Andrew say following their younger brother.

"Come on." Harley says pulling her little sisters with her. "They need some alone time." she says and I blush while Jake smirks. When they're all gone I turn to Jake blushing.

"Remind me to thank Harley later." he says and I laugh. He leans down and kisses me again. Oh ya Harley's getting a raise in her allowance.
