Chapter 3:
"No I don't want to. Let me go! I'm waiting for Haru. He'll be worried if I'm gone."
At the mention of the brunette's name, Aomine snapped. "Haru, Haru, Haru. That's all you think or talk about. What's wrong with you? I don't see what's so good about that guy. Just shut the fuck up and follow me." He pulled the blond with him and onto the train, never letting go of Kise's wrist. Kise protested and tried to pull away from the taller boy but finally came to the conclusion that his efforts were in vain. They got off and at a particular station that Kise was all too familiar with, and was dreading the upcoming events.
"Aomine, where are you taking me?"
"My house, where else do you think?"
"No, I don't want to go to your house. Stop. If you want to say something just say it here."
Aomine's steps didn't slow, "No, we are going to my place. You don't get a choice." The pair made their way down the street until they came up to the house with "Aomine" written on a silver plate next to the front gate. "My parents aren't home so we can walk freely." He creaked the gate open and unlocked the front door, making his way up the stairs to his room still pulling the now scatterbrained blond idiot behind him, until they reached his room and flung Kise onto his bed.
Kise looked around the room to find photo books of some female models lying around and some cloths lying in the corner on the floor. Nothing had changed since he last came here, but that was also something that he was afraid of since he was still so familiar with everything. It had been only about a year after all.
"So what did you want to say? I don't have time. Just say it." Kise tried all his best to sound uninterested in what Aomine could possibly tell him.
"Look, I don't want you to be close to that Haru bastard."
"What?! What the hell are you talking about?"
"Just stay away from him! I don't want you to be close to him."
"Why are you always the one calling the shots? You're trying to control my life again like before, so that you can use me and then throw me away whenever it's convenient."
"What do you mean? I never threw you away—"
"NEVER threw me away? Is that how you believe the story was back then? You didn't explain anything to me. I thought that it was okay to let you do the things you did, you controlled who I met with and I came to your side and disappeared from it when you wanted. I thought that you at least felt something for me. Aomine, I gave you my body and my heart but what I get when I try to put my feelings into words for you is you telling me that you're disgusted, and that you could never love me." Tears were forming at the corners of Kise's eyes and he could no longer hold them in. "How do you expect me to ever believe or listen to a single word you say?"
"I—" Aomine wanted to tell Kise how sorry he was and how much the blond means to him, but he remembered the events that happened one winter day a year ago.
Snow was falling thick outside of the gym. Aomine was packing his things in the locker room getting ready to go home, when Kise came walking through the door.
"Yo, where have you been?I was gonna leave. Don't forget you promised that we'd go to my place after."There was no response from the blond. Aomine turned around to get a proper look at Kise to find that he wasn't his usual jumpy and cheerful self. "Oi, what's up with you today?"
"Aominechi, I have something important to ask you."
Though the navy haired boy considered the event being rather strange he thought he'd go along with it rather than to have his evening ruined. "Okay, what?"
"Erm… what do you actually think about me?"
"Hah? What the hell do you mean?" not really paying attention to Kise standing behind him.
"I like Aominechi. I like you a lot, but you've never told me how you feel about me. But I thought that after what happened between us, I thought…I thought that maybe you'd think…"
"Is this a joke or something? I did tell you that since I was tired of doing it with women and I wanted it to try it with a guy. Didn't you understand from those words that I don't feel shit? How can you even say something like that? Why would I even start to like a guy in the first place? You're disgusting!"
"I'm just being stupid. Sorry I didn't mean to make so much trouble for you. I must be a nuisance. Don't worry I won't come bother you again."The second the blond felt warm droplets leaving his eyes he turned and left the locker room immediately, knowing that he couldn't let Aomine see him cry. On his way out, with his face completely facing the floor, he caught sight of several people standing beside the door. But the pain he felt throbbing at his chest made him forget about everything and just left everything behind.
Back in the locker room Aomine fell onto the bench next to his bags.
"Dai-chan I don't think that was fair. Kise-kun loves you very much. I could tell." Momoi appeared at the door.
"Aomine-kun, I didn't know you were this heartless." Kuroko suddenly turned up right next to the tanned boy.
"Aomine, I don't like to meddle with things that aren't my business, but I don't think what you did was very honorable. You're just a coward." Midorima pushed his glasses higher up.
'What the fuck do they know? They have no idea what I'm going through.'
All those memories flushed back into Aomine's conscience, which made it all the more difficult for him to face the crying Kise in front of him. One year ago, in the locker room, when Kise was confessing to him, he knew that there were people standing outside the locker room door. 'I let me pride get to me then, but I can't lose Kise again.'That was all Aomine thought as he faced a similar situation a year later.
Without thinking Aomine kissed him. He wanted Kise to give in, wanted to see the stupid smile that the blond once gave him, the eyes which only sparkled when they came across the sight of him, the warmth that he found himself waking up to in the morning, the occasional annoying chatter from the blond. But all of that was gone. He wanted to have all of that back. But in return what he had coming at him was Kise trying all his best to break loose from the shackles that Aomine tried to tie him with again. After countless efforts of struggle and pushing he got rid of Aomine on his lips and gasped for air.
"Get off of me!" Kise yelled.
"Why the fuck won't you just listen to me? Everything will just work out if you just do what I say." Aomine knew that his actions and words weren't helping in the situation, but nothing seemed to be working the way he was thinking.
Aomine tried to aim another kiss at Kise, with one hand holding both of the smaller boy's wrists and another hand trailing down the trembling body. The touch of the tanned boy's skin on his brought back the memories and thoughts that Kise had tried to throw away. But even though that was the case, the blond's body could not help but respond to Aomine's every touch. As the hand of that boy moved further down slipping his hand into the blond's pants, Kise opened his eyes to see hungry sapphire orbs gaping down his torso and stopping at his now freed erection.
"See you want this too." Aomine smirked. The voice, the touches, the feeling, the entire routine was all too familiar. The same events had happened when they were both still in Teikou. Aomine had used his body so many times at his own pleasure, and Kise merely gave in. But he had promised himself that he would not let Aomine lead him on again.
"Aomine stop! Stop! I don't want this. Get off me! Let me go!" Kise yelled, pleaded but Aomine didn't budge. The blue haired boy merely continued and started to tease the blond more.
"Bzzz bzzz bzzz" Kise focused on where the sound had come from. Eyeing the floor he found his phone buzzing with Haru's name on the display screen.
"Aomine, I have to get my phone. Haru's calling. He'll be worried if I don't pick up."
At the sound of Haru's name, Aomine went berserk. That was the last thing he wanted to hear coming from Kise at that moment. "I don't care who's calling you, all you need to do is listen to me and everything will work out. That guy will never give you the things that I can."
"Haru would never force me to do things that I don't want." Tears were trailing down Kise face as he tried to put distance between himself and the boy on top of him. "Haru wouldn't ever make me cry. He cares about me, and takes care of me that a person like you would never understand! He's there for me when I need him. He listens to all my problems and takes me seriously. That's why I like being with him." Seeing the tears causing the smaller man's face to become puffy, made Aomine's heart twinge with pain.
As those words left Kise's mouth, Aomine's mind went blank. "Are you saying that you think I don't care about you?"
"Why would you care about me Aomine? You never did, and you never will. When you pushed me away one year ago, you made that very clear. You don't know what it's like to try to forget someone that you love but can't have. I've been trying so hard already, so please just leave me alone."
'Kise is trying to forget me?'
"What do you mean you're trying to forget?"
Kise didn't want to answer such a question, and especially not when it was coming directly from the one person, who is the source of all his pain. "Hey, are you going to tell me or what? What do you mean by forget?"
"I loved you, so much that all the words in this world wouldn't be able to describe. I would have done anything that you asked or wanted from me without questioning. You were everything for me. Back then you used to be the first thing that came into my mind when I woke up and the last thing before I fell asleep. You were the center of my world and every decision in my life depended on what I thought would be best for you. That was how it was. I didn't care that we only had a physical relationship, though slowly I thought that you were developing feelings for me. But your rejection one year ago was like a wakeup call. I realized that all my feelings were one sided and it was just a simple case of 'I thoughts'. So although it took a lot of effort and it was really heavy, I decided to forget my feelings for you, to just let them go. It's as simple as that."
Aomine's mind was going frantic trying to make sense of what the blond had just claimed. Though it was a lot to digest, he knew most of what Kise was saying already. Only, he was utterly stunned by the last phrase.
"No! You can't give up. Please, I don't want to lose you again. Please give me another chance. Please stay by my side. I'm no good without you. Please Ryou, please." At the sound of the name the blunette had once given him, Kise realized that the hands, which had restrained him from moving were now desperately holding onto his body trembling ever so slightly. Kise had never seen the tanned boy do anything like this.
Aomine's head was in a daze, "Please don't go. Stay by my side. I promise that it won't be like before. I'll be everything you want me to be and do anything you ask of me. I'll work hard to become the man of your dreams so that you can fall in love with me again, as deeply as you once loved me. So please just don't leave me."
Kise was shocked by the words. He wasn't even sure anymore if the person with arms wrapped around him right now was Aomine.
"Why should I do that? If what happened last time happens again, I don't think I'll be able to deal with it."
Now looking straight into the amber orbs and holding Kise's hands to his chest, "But I promise that I won't do that. I won't hurt you ever again. Just give me one more chance."
"Why should I believe anything you say?"
"Because I love you."
Kise couldn't gather the words which Aomine had just said. Instead he faced the serious bluenette looking like a fish out of water. 'Did I hear him correctly? No no, I must be imagining things. The Aomine that I know would never say anything like that.'
"Ryou, please stay by my side. Give me another chance. I'm no good without you." Kise's heart had softened as he heard those words, but he was still unsure as to if he could fully trust the words he had just heard. Afterall, the last time he trusted Aomine's words it tor him up into pieces. Kise couldn't deny the fact that he still had feelings for the idiotic bluenette.
"Alright." Aomine's eyes lit up. "But, you have to prove it to me."
