A Queen Does Not Cry
She did not shed any tears on the day her parents were ripped away from her. She did not cry when the Monkey King took everything from her. She held back the tears of anguish and instead let out a scream that was heartbreaking and not even human.
Tears were always a sign of weakness and Toothiana did not like to look weak in front of anybody. She was a queen, a strong figure of her little faeries. She had a tight schedule and kept to it. There was no time for tears. There was never time for tears.
Even when Pitch, the King of Nightmares, invaded her palace and captured her faeries, leaving only one that Jack Frost saved, she held her Baby Tooth in her palms and held back the tears. This was not the time for that.
No tears streamed down her face during the Sandman's funeral. Just a small sigh escaped her lips as she held the hands of her fellow Guardians. She closed her eyes as she held on to their hands tightly.
Not a sob when she thought Jack Frost had betrayed them all to Pitch. The urge to scream was rising within her but she swallowed it down. As her and the other Guardians began to grow weaker and weaker, her wings no longer having the strength to fly, Toothiana held back the tears trying to escape from her eyes.
Because she was still a Queen, and queens do not cry.
