Science-Fantasy93: Oh my gosh! This story is getting updated? Say whaaat?
Jatieluv: It's amazing, isn't it?
Science-Fantasy93: We are so sorry for the wait!
Jatieluv: And just so you guys know, we are TRYING to get things updated. BUUUUT...we DO get hit with other ideas, and LIFE.
Science-Fantasy93: What she said. She's working full time, and I'm going to school while trying to find a job. So it gets a little crazy for both of us.
Jatieluv: Unfortunately, the real world exists and it's a bitch haha. Believe me, if we could, we would stay in Jatie-Land all the time.
Science-Fantasy93: I'd be totally cool with that. Unfortunately, it just doesn't happen. But thank you for your patience! It means the world to us :)
Jatieluv: It does. And we're assuring you that we haven't forgotten about ANY of our stories. It just may take some time for them to get updated. But it WILL get done. So, thank you for sticking by us and continuing to read. :) You guys rock.

Edit 3/15/14: Science-Fantasy93 here. There's a new government act that, if it goes through, will get rid of fanfiction, fan art, fan videos, and that's just some of it. It's called SOPA, and there's a petition going around to stop it. I've posted the link to the petition in our JatieFantasy profile and on my profile as well, and I've tweeted about it. Please take a moment to sign it, because if this act goes through, we'll lose fanfiction. Thank you :)
Enjoy the chapter!
James' POV
I awoke a couple of hours later, still holding Katie. She was sound asleep in my arms. I smiled.
She shifted slightly.
I held her tighter. I wasn't gonna lie, part of me was scared she'd disappear again. I didn't want to let her go. In some ways, it felt like a dream, having her here with me. I couldn't let her leave me again.
Katie sighed and snuggled closer.
I sighed contentedly. I'd do whatever I had to in order to keep her and Cam.
Katie sighed again, and she slowly opened her eyes.
I smiled at her and brushed her hair away from her eyes. "Hey."
She smiled back at me. "Hey."
"Sleep good?"
"Very. You?"
I nodded.
She smiled, and scooted closer.
I kissed her forehead.
Her smile widened.
The door opened a few seconds later and Cam poked his head in.
We both smiled at him.
He came in and crawled onto the bed, between us.
I wrapped my arm around him.
"Hi, Daddy."
"Hi, Cam-Bear."
He snuggled into me.
I smiled.
Katie rubbed his back.
Cam sighed happily.
"Love you, baby bear."
"Love you too, Mommy-Bear."
"You better," she laughed, tickling his belly.
He laughed, squirming.
She grinned and kept tickling him.
He squirmed, falling into my lap.
"You think Daddy's gonna protect you?"
Cam looked up at me hopefully.
Katie wrapped her arms around him and pulled him to her. "Now I got ya!"
He laughed.
She pressed kisses all over his face.
He squirmed, but it was more for show.
She kept at it.
"Mommy!" he squealed, laughing.
"Yes?"
"St-stop!" he laughed.
"Hmmmm...I don't know...I'm having way too much fun."
He hiccuped.
Katie chuckled, and let him go.
"Honey will help," I told Cam as he hiccuped again. "Or sugar water. Or peanut butter."
He blinked up at me, hiccuping again.
"And drinking water in fast, small gulps," Katie added. "It works for both of us."
Cam nodded, and hurried downstairs.
"He'll probably try all the cures," I said with a small laugh.
She laughed and nodded. "I wouldn't doubt it."
"He'll be super sugar high by the time dinner rolls around."
"Probably."
I chuckled.
Katie sat up.
I looked over at her.
She climbed off of the bed and stretched.
I smiled a little.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Kay. I'm heading downstairs. You coming?"
"Yep."
She headed out.
I followed her down the stairs.
Cam was sitting at the kitchen table with peanut butter and a glass of water.
I grinned. "Still working on your hiccups?"
He looked at me and hiccuped in response.
"I guess so."
He picked up a big spoon and scooped up a bunch of peanut butter, shoving the spoon in his mouth.
Katie laughed.
I grinned.
He looked at us, eating the peanut butter.
I headed over to the fridge, and pulled out a bottle of water.
"Ish shticky," he got out.
"I know."
Katie chuckled at him. "You're adorable."
"I know!" He kept eating the peanut butter in his mouth. "Need milk..."
Katie got the milk out of the fridge, and poured him a glass.
"Thank you, Mommy," he hiccuped.
"You're welcome, sweetie."
He smiled as she handed him the glass. "Bye, Mr. Hiccups." He started drinking the milk.
I pulled out a bag of chips, and sat down at the table.
Katie sat down with us.
I opened the chips.
Cam moved his little hand towards the bag.
"Want some?" I asked him.
He nodded, finishing his milk.
"Okay." I slid the chips over to him, just as Jenn came into the kitchen.
"Katie, James," she addressed us. "Kevin and I were wondering if you'd mind if we took Cam out for dinner and that new Disney movie."
"Dinner? Yes. Disney movie? No," Katie said firmly.
"What's wrong with the Disney movie this time?" Jenn sighed.
"What's not wrong with it?" she retorted. "I don't want him watching it."
"Okay, okay, I wasn't criticizing you, I was serious. It's a sad, sad day when you're afraid to take your four year old grandson to see a Disney movie."
"I'm sorry. But any other kids movie, go for it."
"Okay, there's another one. It's animated, and it looks pretty kid-friendly."
"He wants to see the new Madagascar movie."
"That works. I'll let Kevin know. As for restaurants...Any food allergies, or things you don't let him eat?"
"Or Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. He wants to see that too. He loves those books. As for food allergies, like me, he's allergic to almonds and like James, he can't have flounder."
"Ooh, he got both allergies...nasty."
Katie nodded.
"Okay. We'll take him to a cafe or something, with food like hamburgers or chicken nuggets."
I turned to Katie. "Hey, remember that time when your boyfriend invited us to that restaurant his dad owned, and you accidentally got something with almonds in it, and I managed to get something with flounder in it? That really ruined his dinner party..."
She nodded. "Definitely."
"It turned nasty. There we are, getting our meds administered to us by Kendall and Logan, and he's shouting at us about ruining his party."
"And I broke up with him."
"I remember that. Best allergy attack ever."
Katie chuckled and pecked my lips. "You really didn't like him."
"Let me put it this way. If he had been on fire, and I had a cup of water in my hand, I would have drank the water. But no hard feelings."
She laughed.
I smiled. "Yeah, well, he'd go around the boys' locker room, telling everyone how - um - " I glanced at Cam. "It's not important. It was all lies anyway."
Cam looked up at me. "That's not very nice, Daddy."
"About what I said about him being on fire?"
He nodded.
"It was a little extreme...But he was your mommy's boyfriend."
"Why?" he demanded.
"That's something I always asked myself."
He crossed his little arms. "Hmmph. I don't like him."
"Me neither."
"Off with his head!"
"See?" Katie said. "This is why he's not allowed to watch Disney movies. Thank you, Queen of Hearts."
"That movie was just weird anyway," I said. "I don't know why they let Tim Burton direct it. All his stuff is creepy."
She nodded in agreement. "Like The Corpse Bride?"
"Exactly."
Cam looked up at Jenn. "Seuss?"
Jenn nodded. "Absolutely."
He beamed.
She smiled back.
He wiggled out of his seat.
"Come on, let's go get you ready for dinner," Jenn said to him.
He took her hand. "Okay!"
She took him upstairs.
Katie turned to me. "I have the strangest feeling that she's trying to give us alone time..."
"I think so too...She's obviously hoping we'll bond or something."
"Yeah..."
"I don't know, I think we're doing pretty good."
"Agreed. And I'm wondering what she's up to...Especially since she knows about the pillowcases..."
I dry choked. "She does?!"
She nodded. "She talked to me about them earlier, after you and Cam left for the zoo."
"Oh...wow...and she...ahem...knows what they were used for...?"
"I think so. She said extra-curricular activities..."
"That used to be our code word for it, remember?" I smiled a little at the memory.
She nodded.
"But still...that's awkward..."
"Very."
"I mean, obviously she figured out we'd slept together...But, the pillowcase kind of adds to it..."
"Yeah."
I winced.
Katie shrugged.
"Oh my gosh...what if your dad knows?!"
"Who cares?"
"I care!"
"Why?"
"Because I happen to like and respect your dad, and now I just know, every time I see him, I'm going to wonder if when he sees me, he thinks, There's the guy who my daughter used to give hand jobs to!"
"What's that?" Cam asked, walking into the kitchen.
My eyes widened. Shitshitshitshitshit...
Katie slapped a hand over her mouth.
"What's what?" Kevin came into the room too.
Even better...
Cam blinked up at him. "What's a hand job, Grandpa?"
He blinked back. "Where did you hear that?"
"Daddy just said it."
I face-palmed.
"Oh, talking about the pillowcases?" Kevin asked.
Katie grinned at me.
"You know about them too?!" I yelped.
"Is there a story?" Cam asked. "I like stories."
Kevin grinned wickedly. "It's a story for me to tell you in about ten years..."
"Don't even think about it," Katie said. "You will scar him for life."
"Well, I'm going to have to tell the story to someone...Ooh! Your dad!" Kevin said brightly to me. "He'll get a kick out of it. Did you two really think we had no idea that you two were doing stuff? We could hear James climbing up the tree outside your window! He wasn't exactly quiet."
Katie looked at me. "Nice going, Diamond."
"Hey, you told me to climb up the tree, so I did. How was I supposed to know your dad was going to hear me?"
"You were supposed to be quiet!"
"I was trying to be, but it was always dark, and I couldn't see very well! It's not like your parents were going to keep the porch light on for me...Although they actually did have it on a few times."
"Oh, yeah, we didn't want you to hurt yourself while you were sneaking into our daughter's room," Kevin said to me.
"How nice of you," Katie said.
"Hey, I almost shot him the first time I saw him climbing up the tree. I changed my mind when I heard him cussing like a drunk. I figured he was suffering enough, without certain parts of his anatomy being shot off."
She chuckled. "You seriously almost did that?"
"Yep. I had my rifle out and everything. And then his foot slipped and he almost fell. I felt kinda bad for him."
"And you didn't bust him...?"
"I could have, but your mother reminded me that I used to do the same thing. I used to sneak into her room, so, it was slightly hypocritical of me to try to shoot him for doing the same thing to you. I just convinced myself that you two were up there, playing Candy Land."
"So, it was better for you to pretend that you didn't let him into my room so he could have his way with me?"
"Pretty much...As your mom also mentioned, you two would figure out a way to do stuff anyway, and it might involve putting you in danger. I figured as long as you two were in your room, safely, and I never heard anything, nothing questionable was happening."
"I'm still surprised. I mean, I was only 16 when it started happening..."
"I thought it was just when you were almost 18!"
Katie looked away, whistling.
"You were sleeping with him when you were 16?!"
She nodded.
"Oh, for the love of...See, I never heard him, so I didn't know..."
She looked at me. "Why did you suddenly become loud?"
"Oh, that was after I got hurt during a hockey game! Remember when I twisted my foot? That'd be why. It made it a little harder to climb up the tree."
"Ah. That must have been the night he heard and saw you."
"I'm guessing so."
"You guys still won the game, though," Kevin said to me. "It was a good game."
I nodded.
"Well, that'd explain a lot...Since you were 16?! What were you thinking?!" he cried.
Katie looked at him. "I was thinking I loved my boyfriend..."
"Enough to do that with him?! Did Kendall and I teach you nothing?!"
"Daddy," she pouted.
"Oh, by the way, since you know we know about the pillows, your mom and I went through your room after you moved, just to straighten it out and keep it clean. So, anything you didn't want us to find, we found."
"Okaaayyy..."
"If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm sure James does."
She looked at me.
"Ah...That's interesting..."
"What is he talking about?" she asked.
"Well...I'm not completely sure...But he might be talking about that...um...undergarment set you used to have...that I never saw...never..."
She raised an eyebrow.
"You know what I'm talking about..."
"No, I really don't..."
Kevin smirked at me. "Do continue on."
Katie looked at him. "Aren't you and Mom supposed to be taking Cam out?"
"Yeah, but this is entertaining. I love seeing James look so uncomfortable."
"Go."
Kevin took Cam, called up the stairs for Jenn, and within thirty seconds, they were all heading out the door.
Katie turned back to me.
"You really don't remember it?"
"No..."
"Black lace...?"
"Oh!"
"You remember?"
"Yeah..."
I nodded.
"How dare they go into my underwear drawer!"
"I think they probably thought you had makeup in there or something."
"Who does that?"
"Maybe your mom...? I don't know."
"I feel violated..."
"Awww..." I hugged her.
She leaned into me.
"I'm sure they didn't expect to find anything interesting in there. Maybe they thought they'd find cash in there or something...That sounds bad..."
"Yeah...There's really no reason for them to go through that drawer. Ever."
"Maybe they were going to mail some stuff to you."
"Maybe."
"I'm sure their intentions were strictly innocent."
"I hope so."
"Of course, now your dad will never let me forget that he almost shot me in the balls once..."
She laughed.
"I'm glad you think it's funny..."
"Just a little."
"Just remember, you used to enjoy them immensely," I sniffed haughtily.
"I still do."
"Oh yeah?"
"Uh huh."
"But you haven't had contact with mini-James' neighbors in years..."
"I had a little contact with them this morning."
"True..."
"But we could change that..."
"Really? And how do you propose we do that?"
She grinned. "I'm sure you can think of something."
"I'll see if I can get creative."
"Just wait until after dinner, kay?"
"I can do that, I'm starving."
She pecked my lips. "I'll make dinner."
"Okay. Want some help?"
"Nah, I got it."
"Okay."
She got to work on dinner.
I watched her.
She looked at me.
I smiled at her. "Whatcha making?"
"Tex mex lasagna."
"Sounds good."
She nodded.
"Can I ask you something?"
"You just did."
I rolled my eyes. "I'm serious."
"Sorry. Go ahead."
"When did you find out you were pregnant?"
She stopped what she was doing and looked at me. "A couple weeks after I left."
"Oh. And you figured it out because you missed your period?"
"No. I thought I got it, but turns out that early signs of pregnancy include light spotting and mild cramps. Then there's...discharge...from the vaginal walls thickening. Plus my breasts were sore...And I was tired and nauseous."
"Oh...That sounds...um...pleasant..."
"Always."
"I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"I just am. I'm just...curious about this next thing I'm going to ask..."
"What?"
"Do you know when Cam was...you know..."
"Conceived?"
"Yeah."
She nodded.
"When?"
"The last time we had sex was your birthday. So, it was some time around then."
"Oh. I remember that."
She smiled a little.
I bit my lip.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. It doesn't matter now."
"What I just said or another thought?"
"Kind of both..."
"James, now's the time to talk. Out with it."
I sighed. "It's just hard to think about that last time."
"Wanna elaborate?"
"Because it was the last time we had together. I mean, I thought we'd be with each other in September, and then...you left."
"I thought we'd be together in September too," she said, going back to work on dinner.
"I know. It's not your fault. It's just, that was the last time we were together. That was the last night we saw each other."
"I know."
"So, looking back on that night, it feels bittersweet."
"I can see that. But at least now you have me back. And even better, you have Cam too."
"I know. I mean, it would have been like that if I knew I'd get you back one day. But I didn't. Neither of us knew."
"I know."
"So...yeah..."
She put the food in the oven.
"I'm sorry. None of this was your fault."
"It's not yours either," she sat, sitting with me. "Don't be sorry."
"I guess most of the problem is that I had no idea what was going on. I thought you'd left me."
"I wouldn't. Not in the way you think."
"I know. Well, I know that now."
"Good."
"You know, I'm kind of surprised your grandmother didn't sue me for child support."
"She didn't want you to know about him."
"Why not? I could have at least helped pay some of the bills..."
"She was afraid you'd take me home with you and he'd turn out like you guys."
"Tragedy. Seems like he's a lot like me already, so her foolproof plan didn't work out so well."
"I know. I loved it. But she also didn't want you near us because of her thinking you raped me."
"Where did she get that idea from, anyway?"
"I have no idea."
"She probably thought you'd never say yes to me. Or else she thought that no granddaughter of hers could ever want to have sex, especially with an animal like me."
"Probably." She grinned. "But I love that your an animal."
"Thanks."
"No problem."
I sighed. "You always wanted it, right? You always wanted to...you know...every time we did?"
"Of course."
"Okay."
"Why would you even ask that?"
"I just wanted to make sure..."
"How could you think- I mean, think back to every time we did. James, I practically begged you to."
"Yeah..."
She kissed me.
I kissed her back.
She deepened the kiss.
I wrapped my arms around her.
She sighed.
I pulled back after a few seconds.
Katie smiled.
I smiled back.
"Feel better?"
"A little."
"Good."
I nodded.
Dinner was ready about 20 minutes later.
Katie pulled it out of the oven and divided it onto two plates and placed them on the table with two forks.
"Oh, wow," I said when I saw the food. "That looks amazing."
"Thanks."
We dug in.
"Soooo good..."
Katie smiled.
I smiled back.
She grabbed two glasses and filled them with soda, placing them by our plates.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome." She sat down.
I took a sip of my soda.
Katie took a bite of her food.
"So, what were you majoring in?" I asked her.
"Art."
"Any particular kind of art?"
She shrugged. "Drawing and painting, I guess. It's why Cam wants me to paint his room. He's seen some murals that I've painted."
"Ah, gotcha."
She nodded, taking another bite of food. "He likes drawing too."
"Aww, he got that part of you. Is he into drama or singing?"
"Oh yeah."
I smiled. "I don't know if you remember this, but I originally went to the college to major in drama and minor in music..."
"Yeah, I remember. What happened?"
"There was a problem in both departments. I had a little...altercation with my drama professor, and her boyfriend happened to be my music professor."
"Ooh.."
"Not like that! It wasn't like that at all!"
"I didn't say it was."
"Some people got the wrong idea...Look, I didn't like my drama prof's teaching methods...She was a bitch. She once told a girl in my class that the only type of film she'd ever be able to get into would be porn. But she has a tenure, meaning that she was well respected, she had written books on the subject, she'd been on Broadway, and unless she chose to stop teaching, they wouldn't have been able to fire her. I lost my temper once after she brought another to tears, and called her a Nazi bitch, and she reported me."
"Ah."
"Yeah. Her boyfriend made it very clear I was not allowed back in his classroom. But she took it one step further. She got me banned from both departments completely."
"Wow."
I nodded. "I thought about switching schools, but at the time this was all going down, I was on the hockey team, and, well, I kind of fell back in love with it. So I ended up majoring in physical education, and minoring in nutrition, which I only put to good use once in awhile. I miss acting and music, but it's probably for the best."
"You could still do it. Maybe when hockey season is over, you can perform at the theater."
"Maybe...I'd like to, in all honesty. Only problem is, the Nazi bitch now works at the theater, directing plays."
"There's more than one theater."
"With my luck, she'll get me banned from all the theaters in the town..."
"I don't think so."
"Ehhh...Who knows? I'll think about it."
"Besides, your mom has a lot of power in the theaters considering they use her makeup on the actors."
"True...Wish she'd had that kind of power over the college drama department..."
"But look at the bright side, now you can do it all and you're still playing hockey with your buds."
"True."
She smiled.
I smiled back.
Katie finished her food. "And wait until peewee hockey starts. Cam will be thrilled."
"He will be."
"Awww!"
"What?"
"I'm just thinking about how cute he's gonna look in his little uniform!"
I chuckled. "He definitely will."
"Aww and his little skates!"
I laughed.
"What?"
"You're so funny."
"Why?"
"You're so excited. It's so cute."
She smiled. "I can't help it. I hate hockey, but he's so cute!"
I laughed again. "Yeah, he is."
"Oh, just so you know, Cam may draw stuff for you to hang in your locker."
I beamed.
She chuckled.
I smiled at her.
She smiled back.
I leaned over and pecked her lips.
She kissed me back.
I smiled. Once I finished eating, Katie put our dishes in the dishwasher. "Thanks."
"You're welcome."
I washed the remaining dishes.
"You didn't have to do that," she said.
"Yes I did."
"You really didn't."
"You've already made dinner and set and cleared the table. It's the least I could do."
"Kay."
I leaned around to kiss her cheek.
She smiled.
I smiled back.
"Want dessert?"
"Sure."
She grinned.
I cocked my head at her.
Her grin widened and she headed for the stairs.
I hurried after her.
