"Levy what should I do?" A disgruntled Lucy asked her best friend. Lucy was getting close to her breaking point. She tried looking for Natsu and Iris before coming to the guild but she couldn't find them anywhere. In-fact nobody she talked to had even seen the two which worried her. And to make things worse when she did arrive at the guild she was immediately bombarded with questions about her night from the curious females of the guild. She then had to explain to them what actually happened which then resulted in her having to stop the majority of them from looking for and inflicting punishment on the missing DragonSlayer. This was her problem and she would deal with it herself but she was running out of option so she hoped Levy could help.

Unfortunately for the blonde even she didn't have an answer.

"I'm sorry Lu. I don't know what to say. If Natsu didn't show up last night and Iris didn't come home I would assume the two are together at the moment" she concluded which brought a frown to Lucy's face. Her worst cast fear would be if Natsu ditched her for Iris but she wanted to believe from her time with the black haired beauty that she would never let that happen.

"None of this makes any sense, they both knew about the date so I don't understand what could have happened to the pair" she fummed.

"I might be able to help with that" a voice suddenly called out. The two mages looked up too see Mirajane just arriving to the guild.

"Mira, what do you know about the two?" Levy asked intrigued by her sudden claim.

"Iris had taken a mission yesterday when you guys came back. She should be back sometime today and Natsu came by later that day but he left the guildhall in a hurry after I told him that Iris had left" she explained which just made Lucy feel worse.

"So you mean he left me to go find Iris?" A disheartened Lucy asked Mira.

"Well, we don't know that for sure. You know Natsu, he has such a one-track mind maybe he just forgot" Mira defended.

"That's not an excuse Mira; Natsu's the one who asked Lucy for this date. It doesn't make any sense for him not to not show" Levy countered.

"I'm sure Natsu just got a bit confused and did what he usually does when he's confused … something stupid" Mira replied.

"Well maybe Lu should just start going out with Sting if that's how Natsu feels" Levy answered which led to silence between the two. The two then looked to Lucy who didn't seem to have an answer.

"I don't know what to do" she answered honestly.

"Just talk it out with him, I'm sure whenever Natsu shows up the first thing he'll do is apologize to you" Mira said softly.

"And when you do talk to him make sure you get answers from him, don't back down until he gives all the detail" Levy add to which Lucy just nodded to her friend determinedly.

"I know Levy I'll get to the bottom of this and thanks for the information Mira" she said before getting up to leave the guild.

"Good luck Lu, do your best" Levy encourage before Lucy left the guild leaving the two mages and the guild behind.

As Lucy walked to her apartment her head was filled with question she needed to ask Natsu. It brought her no shortage of angst just thinking about the answers she would receive as she continuously pondered the scenarios that would play out.

In her deep train of thought when she looked up she realized she was nowhere near her apartment and instead had ended up at the Sakura Tree field.

The tree's instantly brought memories back of her first Sakura day Festival, how she missed it and how Natsu had dug up a tree for her.

'How the times had changed' she thought before she was surprised when her name was called by the man she was looking for.

"Lucy" Natsu greeted. The blond slowly turning around to meet the dragonslayer. She instantly noticed he was wearing the same outfit from yesterday and looked to be tired with bags under his eyes.

"Natsu, what happened yesterday? Why didn't you show up for our date" Lucy demanded. She wasn't going to wait, she was angry and wanted an answer.

The tone in her voice surprised Natsu for a moment. He wasn't expecting her to be this mad. He then remembered Iris's words from before to prepare for this as he gulped nervously.

"Yeah I'm really sorry about that, I got caught up in something and just lost track of time" he said with a nervous laugh but Lucy wasn't amused by his answer.

"Ohh and what were you doing?" she asked.

"What?"

"What were you doing that was so important that you'd forget about the date that you asked for?" she spat not happy by the way he seemed to be dodging her questions.

Natsu on the other hand was beginning to feel the heat and he never felt the heat. He couldn't tell Lucy about what really happened yesterday because he promised Iris he wouldn't but he didn't know what else to say.

"Look Lucy. I know you're mad about yesterday, about not going out on a date, and I'm really sorry about that. Let me make it up to you and take you on date today" he said trying his best to make up for the day before but that wasn't what Lucy was looking for.

"I don't care about the stupid date Natsu! In-fact even though you ditched me last night I still was able to have a great time because I went out with Sting" she replied which stunned Natsu.

"You went out with Sting! How could you do that when you were supposed to go out with me!" Natsu shouted as Lucy didn't back down.

"What else could I do? You were nowhere to be found and Sting just suddenly showed up. He took me out and I had a great time" she said trying to rub it in to the seething DragonSlayer.

"What's your deal? I missed our date and I'm sorry but that doesn't mean you can go out with another guy just like that" he said with a hint of jealously in his voice to which Lucy rolled her eyes.

"Don't try to make me the bad guy here especially since you were the one out with another person first" she answered back furiously.

"What's that even mean?"

"I know that Iris was on a mission last night" she said accusingly. At those words Natsu felt like he had just been suckered punched but he didn't let it show as he clenched his fist.

"What does Iris have to do with any of this?" He growled.

"The only possible thing you could have been doing last night that would have made you not show up for our date was being with Iris" she concluded as she continued to glare daggers at Natsu.

If looks could kill Natsu knew he'd be on the verge of death at the moment. He was trying his best to keep himself composed but the news of Lucy going out with Sting was tensing him up. He'd get him later but for now he needed to get Lucy to calm down.

"Lucy this has nothing to do with Iris, it was my mistake not showing up yesterday. Iris had nothing to do.." but he was cut off by the angry blond.

"Then what's your reason? Why'd you miss something that was so important! Tell me!" she roared leaving Natsu speechless. He didn't know what to say, he couldn't tell her the truth but he couldn't think of anything else to say.

"I'm sorry Luce it most of just slipped my mind" he said sadly. Lucy could only frown at his lack of cooperation. She didn't know whether to believe him or to press forward. Either way she was bound to lose. If he really forgot then he must have really not taken any of this seriously and if he was hiding something from her it would be just as bad.

Lucy then sighed before giving her head a shake. She then gave Natsu one more look before turning around and walking away without a word.

"Lucy I'm sorry, can't we talk about this! Please I'll do anything to make up for this" he yelled running after her before she stopped, surprising him as he stopped a few meters behind her.

"Answer me this Natsu, who do like more me or Grey?" she asked with her back still turned shocking Natsu for a moment before he regained himself and answered.

"You".

"Me or Erza?" she asked next.

"You" he said more confidently this time.

"Me or Mira?"

"You" .

"Me or Master?"

"You".

"Me or Iris?" She finally asked.

"…" at this time Natsu really wanted to say Lucy. But there was something about Iris. It wasn't the same kind of feelings he had for Lucy but it reminded him of the feelings he had when Igneel was around. He wasn't sure if he could choose between the two.

At his lack of response Lucy had her answer as she began to walk away again. This time without Natsu chasing after her and tears in her eyes.

At the Guild

Iris had finally made it to the Guildhall. Thanks to Wendy's healing most of her injuries had been taken care of. She still had bandages and bruises around her body but she had made sure to cover them up with her choice of clothing and make-up.

As she opened the doors to the guild she was greeted with kind looks from many of her new guild mates but she could also sense something was off with a few of the females of the guild. The looks they were give her at the moment made her uneasy. She wondered if Lucy had told them about her date or lack of one yet.

Iris then proceeded to the bar to talk to Mira who had been staring at her since she arrived at the guild.

"Hi Mira" she greeted as she hobbled toward the bar.

"Iris, why are you walking so funny? Are you hurt? Do you need me to fetch Wendy for you?" she asked in concern to which Iris immediately shook her head.

'I've already seen her' she thought

"No Mira I'm fine just a bit soar from the mission" she replied with an awkward laugh. But Mira didn't seem to buy it.

"So you're mission didn't go well?" She inquired which brought another awkward laugh from the black haired mage.

"Yeah, I found the guy but wasn't able to catch him but I'm sure he left the town when I was pursuing him" she explained.

"I see but I don't know Iris, when I look at you it seems like you just came out of a war or at least you we're in a battle"

"Hehe, no way Mira. I may have slipped and fell once but it wasn't anything serious"

"I see and what about Natsu? Is he doing alright?" she asked which caused Iris to flinch for a moment before she responded.

"I don't know, I haven't seen him since yesterday" Iris said stupidly. She'd been prepared for these questions and was going to plead ignorance as her defense.

"What? So he didn't go with you on your mission?"

"Why would he? Didn't he have a date yesterday?"

"Iris don't lie to me, after I told him about your mission he raced out of the guild and never made it back here for his date with Lucy"

"WHAT! That idiot! How could he do something like that! Honestly Mira I haven't seen the dummy since yesterday after we arrived at the train station" she said confused. Mira than glared hard at Iris hoping to scare her into telling the truth but Iris was on to Mira and just gave her the same dumb confused expression she had on her face. Mira finally stopped and sighed in frustration.

"Then what could that idiot have been doing last night to miss his date?" Mira said in defeat. Iris did feel guilty about all this but she didn't see any other way to fix this except to lie. She also needed to move on and start doing some research.

"If I see the idiot I'll let him know to come see you but Mira I have a question. I heard you guys have a big library inside here and was wondering if I could check it out?" she asked. Mira seemed too distraught to really care about why she would need to go to the library. The knowledge that her favorite pairing seemed to be heading for disaster had made her sulk.

"Take that hall down and it's the third door to the right" she pointed as Iris nodded her thanks before making her way to the door.

As she got into the library she realized that Natsu wasn't kidding when he said that it was big, this place was massive! She could defiantly see herself getting the information she needed here but before she could get too comfortable, she could feel something glaring at her before she heard her name being called.

"Iris we need to talk"
