Senses
Yoite didn't like to be touched. He almost feared it.
But then Miharu came along. He promised to grant Yoite's wish.
His wish to be erased.
But it would take time.
And as the time passed, Yoite began to lose his senses.
First went his taste. That didn't bother him too much.
The others all started to decline after that. His hearing was leaving him the fastest, with sight not far behind. His sense of touch was the strongest of the remaining senses. And the one he disliked the most.
The loss of taste was not very upsetting.
Scent was not important.
Touch couldn't disappear soon enough.
The loss of his sight worried him. How was he supposed to help Miharu if he couldn't see?
But his hearing was the loss that was hurting him the most.
He could only hear what Yukimi was saying about half the time now. He could hear other people only about a quarter of the time. Hearing others didn't bother him beyond the fact that it limited his ability to help Miharu. But not being able to hear Yukimi every time he spoke was hurting Yoite in a way he didn't understand.
Then there was Miharu. Yoite could hear Miharu about as much as he could hear Yukimi. Unless Miharu was touching Yoite.
When Miharu touched Yoite, Yoite could hear. He could smell. He could see. He could TASTE.
He could also feel, but when Miharu was the one touching it was okay. Yoite liked being touched by Miharu. He could almost feel normal when Miharu was touching him. Best of all, when Miharu was touching Yoite, Yoite could also hear Yukimi's voice.
Miharu and Yukimi. The two most important people to Yoite.
The only important people. The only ones he wanted to protect. To help. To not cause pain or trouble for them. The only ones.
What would they do when he was erased?
How would they change?
What made these two so different from everyone else?
What made them important?
xXxXx
