Chapter 14: Tien's Assault

Turles continued slamming Krillin as hard as he could, truly enjoying beating the life out of him.

"Enough, he's dead." Vegeta finally said. Turles stopped but as a final good measure, he threw him up in the air and then punched him, hard, sending him flying through a plateau.

"So what now, it seems that was all of this planet's warriors?" Turles asked.

"Well we're going to need to wait for the brat to awake so he can tell us how to get the dragonballs and after that we go get them and wish for immortality." Vegeta said in matter-of-factly tone. "But first let's get our pods over here and set up a camp." Vegeta stated pulling a remote out of his armor and pushing a button. Turles followed suit and shortly both of their space pods landed close to them. Vegeta opened his and threw Gohan in.

"We'll leave him there until he wakes up. We wouldn't want Kakarrot showing up and sneaking him away." Vegeta said laughing.

On Kami's Lookout

Kami dropped to one knee as if he was suffering a severe amount of pain. Mr. Popo looked on in horror.

"What is it Kami?!" Mr. Popo asked worriedly.

"It seems my time has come. Piccolo just lost his life as he tried to save Gohan from the clutches of the Saiyans." Kami said almost proudly. "But I have learned that there is another set of dragonballs on my home planet of Namek. There you must go to revive me and the Earth's warriors if Goku and Tien are able to win. I can feel that they are very close to reaching King Yemma's station. I can only hope he will be kind enough to return them to Earth. Goodbye old friend." Kami said with a smile as he faded away.

"Goodbye Kami." The black genie said sadly.

On Snakeway

Goku and Tien were flying as fast as they could. All of a sudden Goku couldn't help but feel that something terrible had happened.

"Tien we have to hurry I'm having a bad feeling." Goku said suddenly.

"Goku I can't go any faster unless I use the kiaoken and that was draining me too fast." Tien explained.

"I know it's hard but we have to, I don't think we have much more time!" Goku shouted as he let the kiaoken fill his body with a surge of power and he blasted off leaving Tien behind.

"Damn-it." Tien muttered to himself as a red aura enveloped him. They flew using the kiaoken as a speed boost and after a short period of time they finally saw King Yemma's palace.

Kami had been waiting at the check in station. When he had arrived he explained to King Yemma what had happened and was given permission to transport Goku and Tien back to Earth. Kami looked up, he felt Earth's warriors approaching. Tien and Goku both blasted in the doorway quickly and Kami grabbed both of them and instantly transported both of them to his palace. Without skipping a beat Goku and Tien blasted down towards the planet. Korin sensed them coming and grabbed his last two senzu beans throwing out towards them.

"These are my last two guys! Give them hell!" Korin shouted.

"Thanks and we will!" Goku shouted back as he and Tien started heading towards the two powerful energies that they felt. He handed Tien one of the beans and they both ate one knowing that they would need full strength for this battle.

Vegeta's scouter suddenly picked up two approaching power levels.

"Mmm, it seems that coward Kakarrot has finally decided to show himself and it seems he's bringing a friend; interesting." Vegeta said to Turles. Turles turned on his scouter to assess the situation himself.

"These two seem to be a bit more powerful than their friends, maybe I'll actually get a workout this time." Turles said with a sadistic chuckle.

"Well I'd say we should go meet them but it appears that they're heading straight towards us." Vegeta said with a grin. The two Saiyan invaders then waited for Earth's two strongest warriors and after about ten minutes Goku and Tien landed in front of Vegeta and Turles. Goku and Tien both looked around appalled by what they saw. It appeared that everyone was dead. Tien saw Chiaotzu and walked over. Pain and agony filled Tien.

"I'm sorry friend. I'm sorry I didn't make it back in time to save you." Tien said softly. He then glared over at the Saiyans, pure anger filling him. Goku looked around and saw Krillin's body laying a good ways away. Then he saw Yamcha's body not too far from where Chiaotzu laid. Behind the Saiyans laid a decapitated Piccolo but he couldn't see or sense Gohan. Had he managed to escape?

"Where's my son?" Goku demanded.

"My, my aren't you quite the rude one. We haven't even had a proper introduction and here you are making demands." Vegeta said mockingly.

"I said where is he!" Goku shouted, glaring angrily at Vegeta.

"Well if you must know he's safely sleeping in my space pod right now; let's just say he's decided to switch allegiance." Vegeta said with a cruel smile as he pointed behind himself with his thumb.

"Hand him over and leave now, or else." Goku said staring directly into Vegeta's eyes.

"Or else what?" Vegeta said narrowing his eyes but keeping his cruel smile.

"Or else we'll have no choice but to kill you both." Goku said, while also narrowing his eyes.

"Tell you what why don't we make a game out of this. A set of one on one matches; your son, the dragon balls and your planet, winner takes all." Vegeta said darkly. Goku stared at Vegeta intensely and contemplated for a moment. He then sent a telepathic message to Tien.

'What do you think, do we stand a better chance one on one or fighting both of them at the same time?"

'I don't know, they're both pretty powerful but that other guy doesn't seem quite as strong. If one of us could take him out then we could team up against the stronger one and overwhelm him.' Tien thought back.

'That's a good of plan as any' Goku responded.

"Fine we'll play your little game. So what do we call you?" Goku said with a cocky smile.

"I am Vegeta prince of all Saiyans and this is Turles one of two of my last subjects." Vegeta said, Turles mouth twitched a bit at the mention of being Vegeta's subject.

"Well Vegeta since you're the 'prince'' Goku said mockingly "which one of you is going to go first?"

"Well since you did so well with the cleanup back there Turles, I'll let you go first." Vegeta said looking over at his Saiyan companion.

"Well thanks Vegeta I'll try and enjoy myself." Turles said with a sense of fake gratitude. "So which one of you wants to die first?"

"I'll take you on, I've been itching to test out my new limits for a while now and I don't want to wait any longer." Goku said with a hint of excitement as he began to step forward.

"No Goku wait." Tien said "Let me go first you're not the only one itching for a fight." Tien said.

"Aww but come on Tien he even kind of looks like me it should only be fair that I get to fight him." Goku said in an almost whining manor. Tien looked closely at Turles.

"Wow I just noticed that he does look remarkably like you." Tien said surprisingly "But be that as it may, I still want to go first besides you still owe me one for teaching you my technique." Tien said triumphantly.

"Bu….but, oh fine you go first." Goku said defeated.

"Thank you ." Tien said as he and Turles began walking towards each other in a stare down. In all actuality Tien didn't care who went first, he wasn't as impatient as Goku. The truth was that Goku was just a better fighter than him. Yes it was true that he was virtually equal in strength and power to Goku. He would even go as far to say that his skills and techniques were superior to Goku's, even Master Roshi admitted that his Kahmehameha wave was nowhere near as dangerous as Tien's Tri-beam attack. Not to mention that he was older and had much more battle experience than Goku but, there was just something special about Goku. Goku's ability to push himself and fight opponents much more powerful than himself, to overcome the advisories when all the odds were stacked against him, it was just extraordinary. He couldn't quite put his finger on it; maybe it was his attitude, maybe it was his battle instinct, hell maybe it was just dumb luck he didn't know but what he did know was that they would need him at 100% in order to beat Vegeta.

"So you're Turles? You don't seem that tuff." Tien said mockingly as he allowed his aura charge around him.

"You're funny" Turles said with a growing smile "to bad you didn't become a comedian then you wouldn't have to be fighting me right now."

"Funny I was thinking same thing cause you look like a joke" Tien retorted as he fell into his stance.

"Well then…" Turles said. His smile dropped and he launched toward Tien, throwing a punch at him. Tien barley had enough time to react as he threw up both hands, palm over palm, and caught Turles' punch. Tien couldn't keep the shock out of his face as his fist made contact, instantly shooting waves of pain down his arms. He knew that they would be powerful but he had not expected this. Turles, seeing the shock in Tien's face, smiled menacingly.

"Oh come on now, don't tell me that hurt, that was just a love tap." Turles said mockingly. Then he swung his leg at Tien. This time Tien cartwheeled out of the way then shoot backwards as Turles followed him. Trying to shake the Saiyan off, Tien jumped and rocketed through the air but Turles kept on him. Finally Tien decided to switch tactics as he stopped dead in his tracks, throwing his knee towards Turles' face. Turles blocked the strike with his forearm then rotated around Tien striking him hard in the back with his elbow, sending Tien crashing into the ground.

'Man this guy's good,' Tien thought as he pushed himself up off the ground, a trickle of blood running down his mouth, 'I guess there's really no point in trying to hold off on using it if I expect to be able to take this guy down.'

"What's the matter down there? Ready to give up?" Turles asked Tien while chuckling.

"Actually I'm just getting started." Tien said now back on his feet, "Kaioken!" Tien, now glowing with a red aura, exploded off the ground, rocketing toward Turles. Turles threw a punch as Tien reached him but it passed through his after image as Tien reappeared behind him landing an elbow to his back, then a double hammer fist to his neck launching him toward the ground. Turles caught himself in the air before colliding with the ground and then looked up at Tien only to see an energy beam coming towards him. Turles quickly stretched out his hand and canceled out the beam. Tien launched towards him but Turles was ready for him this time moving out of the way before Tien struck and catching him in the back with a kick. Tien threw a punch but Turles caught it. Tien threw another punch with his free hand but Turles caught that as well. Tien struggled to break free but Turles continued to tighten his grip causing Tien to scream out in agony. Turles wore a sadistic smile, clearly enjoying the amount of pain he was causing Tien. Tien shook violently against the might of Turles' superior strength. With his arms on the verge of breaking, desperation started to kick until finally he screamed

"Kaioken x2!" Tien then broke Turles' grip, turned around and punched him in the gut. Hunched over in pain, with a shocked look on his face, all Turles could do was moan as drool came out his mouth. Tien followed with an uppercut to his face sending him flying through up in the air. Not wanting to waste the moment Tien blasted toward Turles and kneed him in the back causing him to scream out in pain. Feeling his energy draining fast he knew he shouldn't hold the Kaioken much longer so he shoot upwards and back down kicking Turles and sending him crashing into the ground and as a final good measure charged an energy ball in his hand and blasted it towards Turles. The ki ball made contact and caused a huge explosion, sending smoke and debris everywhere. The red aura around Tien faded as he started breathing heavily.

'Hopefully that's enough to at least slow him down.' Tien thought to himself watching the smoke clear away. When the dust settled Turles, who appeared to have taken quite the beating, was still getting to his feet with a look of pure anger on his.

"Alright Tri-clops you've managed to get my attention." Turles said now back to his feet. "So are you ready for the real battle to begin?"

WWWWWHHHHHAAAATTTTT?! Yes it's me and I'm back to A Family Legacy. I had long since given up writing this story due to life getting in the way. However I got the urge to look it up and read through it and then I remembered how much fun I had writing it. So here I am back to the grind. I can't promise that my updates will come as cthis time around as again life can get in the way but I want to finish what I started so I will try. I have a slightly different direction with the way the story is going to play out but the base of it is still going to be the same. With all that out of the way let's dive into the story. This is a shorter chapter( give me a break this is my first update in about 3 years) but I think its a good introduction to the climax of the Saiyin arc. Goku and Tien decided to play Vegeta's game in hopes of taking out Turles early so they could double team Vegeta but it doesn't look like Turles is going to go down easy. After taking Tien's x2 Kaioken he's still standing strong and is now taking Tien seriously. So how is all of this going to play out and will Goku be able to save Gohan?
