I Am a Cat…

Okay, very random one-shot on how one possible way Grimalkin and Puck met. I was watching my brother's Power Ranger show, and it gave me the idea…Don't Judge…

Third Person POV

Puck was intently focusing on the rope and small branches he collected. Every feet or so, he would loop the rope and tie a large knot on one end of the stick and do the same on the other side. He couldn't have brought the ladder that remained in Arcadia since it was so far away, and he didn't quite understand trods yet.

After about five feet of the ladder completed, he looked at the tree in front of him, and debated how much more of the ladder he had to complete. He decided about five more sticks, and he continued as the grey small kitten tilted his head, watching him. A second or two passed when the kitten meowed impatiently.

"Hold on, I'll get you down, just wait" Puck waved dismissively at the cat.

The cat lay down and waited, waving its tail back and forth seeming to mock him. Every few minutes he would meow again.

"Be patient!" Goodfellow shouted, and the cat hissed. After the cat clamed down, he continued swaying his tail back and forth.

"Eureka!" Puck exclaimed after finishing the ladder, and the cat stood up. Puck frowned and decided to attach two large stones on one end, so that when he threw the ladder, it would stay. The cat turned his head and seemed to smirk as Puck failed a few times to throw the rope ladder over the tree branch. Finally when he managed to throw the two stones over the branch, the court jester tested to see if it would hold. He shrugged and decided to climb up.

Cautiously, the cat watched, and smiled at his idiocy. After Puck reached the seventh step, the cat turned around, and walked toward the narrower end of the branch, and sat down.

"Are you kidding me?" The summer fey replied, and swung his leg over the branch.

Inch by inch, Goodfellow moved closer and closer towards the cat. "Here, Kitty-Kitty…" He crooned. "Here, Kitty-Kitty"

The cat perked his ears up and gave him an incredulous glare. About a foot away, Puck reached his hand out, and crooned again. "Here, Kitty-Kitty"

The cat knew better and jumped off the branch. Gracefully, he landed on his feet, and headed towards the makeshift ladder, ignoring Puck's shouts. The cat watched the two rocks with care and tugged on the ladder until the two rocks slipped from the ropes knot. The cat smiled, and looked up the idiot in the tree, knowing at his age barely knew how to control enough glamour to get down on his own.

Puck stared in disbelief, "What-Wh-…How?" He stammered, still with his stomach on the branch where the cat had left him.

The cat raised his tail, swinging it back and forth, and slinked his way away from the tree. Still in hearing distance, Grimalkin purred without looking back, "I am a Cat…"
