Jaime couldn't sleep so he went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. The mission had taken longer than all of them thought so the entire team spent the night at the cave. As Jaime was on his way back to his room with the glass in his hand he stopped outside Bart's door. He listened to Bart's breathing for a while. It sounded like he was having nightmares or something so Jaime gently opened the door and looked in. Indeed Bart was clearly having nightmares. His legs were tangled in his sheets, he was almost hyperventilating, shifted at least twice every fifth second and his hair was almost soaking wet from sweat. Jaime walked up to Bart's bed, ignoring the protests from the scarab as he carefully put the glass down on Bart's desk and kneeled down next to the bed. Jaime gently moved Bart's hair away from his eyes.

"Bart?" he whispered and Bart shifted as he let out a small whimper. Jaime carefully stroke Bart's cheek with his thumb and whispered.

"Bart it's okay it's just a drea-"Bart woke with a scream that almost sent Jaime into the desk.

"BLUE!" He yelled and Jaime froze. Was Bart actually calling out for him? Then he noticed that Bart started to shake. Bart clearly hadn't noticed that Jaime was in his room as he began to sob into his hands. Jaime slowly stood and was just about to put his hand on Bart's shoulder when Bart started whispering his name over and over. It made Jaime's heart hurt and he sat down on the bed. Bart's head jerked up when he felt Jaime sit down, at first Bart looked like he didn't believe his eyes as he slowly reached forward and touched Jaime's face gently as if to make sure he was really there. When he came to the conclusion that Jaime was really there he and threw his arms around Jaime's torso and started crying into his chest. Not even one thought entered Jamie's mind before he wrapped his arms around Bart.

"I'm right here Bart, It was just a dream" he whispered softly and Bart shook his head against Jamie's chest. Jaime was confused as he started stroking over Bart's hair but he didn't say anything else as Bart gripped on tighter to Jaime's black t-shirt. After a while Jaime started humming that lullaby his mother used to sing to him when he was a kid. Jaime didn't remember all the words but those that he did remember he sang softly into Bart's hair. Jaime moved slightly so that he was sitting in the middle of the bed and pulled Bart closer. Bart gripped on even tighter to Jaime and moved his head from Jaime's chest so that his forehead was resting in the crook of the other's neck. Jaime rested his cheek against Bart's head as he kept singing and stroked Bart's back. Bart's breathing slowed down after a few minutes and by the sound of it he wasn't crying anymore. Jaime moved his hand to run his fingers through Bart's sweat soaked hair. Without thinking Jaime pressed a soft kiss to the younger boy's head however neither boys seemed to even notice it.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Jaime asked softly and Bart didn't say a word he just shook his head which was still resting in crook of Jaime's neck.

"You don't have to" Jaime whispered as he started to slowly lay down on Bart's bed pulling the younger with him. Bart let out a small whimper as he lost the contact for only a few seconds before he curled up against Jaime's chest, a few tears still falling from his eyes. Jaime wrapped his arms around the red head and kept whispering softly in Spanish to him until he fell asleep again. Jaime fell asleep shortly after Bart had and Jaime had to admit that it was the best sleep he'd had in a long time. Bart didn't have any other nightmares that night either.
