A Day In The Life Of a Castle Soldier

(AN I played the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time the other day this is where the plot comes from.)

It was a beautiful day in the land of Hyrule, and as a castle soldier he could have been placed anywhere today. He could have greeted travelers at the gate, welcoming them into Hyrule Town. He could have been positioned inside the town doing patrols. Or more importantly he could have been set at guard duty at Hyrule Castle it's self, patrolling the grounds and standing guard at the castle, but no. Today he was in charge of a very small, very boring, and very unimportant room. It was a room not many noticed right at the entrance to the castle, a room filled to the brim of pots. Hours upon hours he'd listen as travelers passed by his door, as soldiers like himself passed by the door, however every day he did his duty, and honestly wondered if anyone even remembered he was there. Then it happened that one day.

He'd been standing in the corner as usual keeping a gaze on the room when suddenly the door opened. Was it an official to swap places? Or maybe he was summoned for doing his duty for so long? As it turned out it was nothing more than a child clothed in green with a small sword and shield adorning his body. The kid just ran up to him and after having been alone for quite some time the guard explained some things to the child who listened attentively. He'd actually spoke about breaking the pots in the room to let off steam, after all there were so many that the officials surely wouldn't notice one or two missing. He'd watched as the boy lifted a pot over his head and threw it causing the familiar sound of shattering pottery, and then it was like a switch that couldn't be shut off… the boy grabbed another, and another, and another!

Smash, smash, SMASH, SMASH, SMASH!

The guard sighed in relief when he'd stopped, but only stared in shock when the boy immediately pulled out a sword and continued destroying the pottery, one after another, again and again. It seemed that the only pots safe were the ones on the high up ledge, but even they too were met with the child's determination to destroy as the blonde boy pulled out not only a slingshot but a boomerang smashing every single piece of pottery to bits.

Finally it was over, there was nothing left to break, or so the soldier thought. He watched as the boy began rolling around, running forward and rolling into the wooden boxes smashing them to bits and collecting the items inside. There was nothing left, nothing but shattered pottery and remnants of what had once been crates. Suddenly a bright floating ball appeared catching the boy's attention, and just like that he ran from the building without ever looking back. It was at this moment the guard decided that just maybe this wasn't the most boring place to be.
