I just got the worst news ever! I heard that SOPA is back and is trying to shut down all fan websites and many others! Although I appreciate how the government is trying to protect us from dangerous websites in the internet, THEY SHOULD LISTEN TO SEE WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY! I find it best if we all come up with a solution to stop the internet dangers without interfering with people's rights! WE HAVE THE POWER TO SPEAK UP AND SHOW THAT THIS IS NOT THE BEST SOLUTION! I FEEL LIKE THERE IS MANY MORE SOLUTIONS AND COMPROMISES RATHER THAN TAKING AWAY WEBSITES WHERE MANY CAN EXPRESS THEIR FEELINGS; WHETHER THROUGH ART, VIDEOS, LITERATURE AND ETC. DON'T GET ME WRONG, THIS IS A WAY TO STOP INTERNET PIRACY BUT THIS ALSO VIOLATES OUR RIGHTS AS PEOPLE TO EXPRESS HOW WE FEEL. the things many express or do in these websites to express how we feel (like anger, happiness, excitement or sadness in movies, politics [violation of amendment 1 if this is the case; we have the right of press.] and many more) may seem unimportant to some people, but to those people who are using these websites; it may be their passion or etc. although I am upset that they MAY shut these places down, I STILL understand it is for the safety of the people.

In school many teachers would punish an entire class just because a few students messed up. in various jobs, when a employee messes up it affects the entire company.

every decision has a positive and negative.

SOPA:

Positive- is that we are safe
Negative- famous fan websites are closed down

ANTI-SOPA:

Positive- we can use the websites and
Negative- our safety is at risk

Alternative (my opinion):

throughout history there have been major compromises to make both opposing sides satisfied. I don't see why we can't do that today.
