Chapter 20

The moment when you find out you could possibly lose one of the most important people in your life was not something you could ever imagine. Alton was one of those people. To hear from Mr. Dawson's mouth that Ally almost successfully committed suicide was not something Alton could ever sweep under the rug even if it was a few years ago. Nothing… nothing could make him feel so painfully aware that he was that close to losing the one person who helped him live as he did now in front of the man who fathered said person.

"Not a day goes by where I can forget that day. Every time I see Ally, I see the day where I saw her laying motionlessly on her bedroom floor. It opened my eyes to know what and who is more important in life. If it hadn't been for that day, I would not be able to work out my problems with Penny," Mr. Dawson admitted, "That is why I called you here today for you to protect Ally and to stop her from being near those monsters. I won't let her go through that again. If they had done it once before, how could I ever know they won't do it again?"

Alton felt deaf in one ear yet being able to hear everything in the other. He felt too shocked to answer. His breath seemed to stop. He just didn't know how to process this without shutting down.

As if it felt like hours, Alton snapped out of his shock and looked to Mr. Dawson. Without a single word from him, Alton nodded. Lester let out a small smile and patted Alton's shoulder twice.

"Thank you," whispered Lester.

Alton did not answer. There were no words that can be said. Nothing at all can be said.

Ally sighed, giving up on the lyrics. It was too hard to think of anything to put into words. She did not know how to start it off or even have the chorus line. She knew what she wanted to write about, but the words did not come easy at all. It felt like her muse was hiding.

It was then she decided to go out for a walk. Maybe then, she would be able to come up with something.

Austin felt incredibly useless when he finished one of his sessions with his therapist. At first, he was skeptical, but as he started opening up, he felt incredibly inadequate and guilty for the actions he made back then. It was his fault he abandoned Ally. It was his fault he made Ally lose Trish and Dez. It was his fault that everything went downhill. He was so angry before he met Ally again. When he lost her, he felt like the world had been against him. He felt like all his problems stemmed with Ally not going with him to his tour. Back then, Ally not being there had been the cause of a domino effect. He felt lost and abandoned even when he had Trish and Dez with them. Without Ally, he could not make decisions. Without Ally, he felt like he had no conscious. She was the one with sound advice. He, on the other hand, was not. He made stupid little mistakes that become bigger mistakes. Without Ally, he felt torn apart.

He decided to walk into the park.

Alton felt total unexplainable anger. He had never felt this much anger. He felt his heart crushed to hear the pain in Ally's father voice as he told Ally's story. He felt the pain too. He felt sick to his stomach at how Team Austin treated Ally. They looked genuine, but it was different when they did something unforgivable to Ally. He was usually a forgiving person but not now. He could not forgive those who hurt his guardian angel. No one will hurt Ally. Not even them. Not even if he looked up to Austin.

He had to walk out his anger, so he decided to walk around the park.

The three of them never knew. The park was about to become ruined by a wrecking ball of two men clashing against each other with Ally being the wall in-between.
