CeCe hummed as she pulled her fiery red hair up into a ponytail. She adjusted her cropped jacket and grinned at her reflection. "Lookin' good," she said.

"Hey, CeCe, can I go to the bathroom yet?" Flynn's voice whined from outside the door.

CeCe huffed. "Just a minute," she called through the door. She went back to making sure she looked as good as could be.

There was a knock on the door.

"I said just a minute, Flynn!" she yelled and wrenched open the door.

Logan gave her a sheepish smile. He had both hands behind his back. "Sorry. I should have waited until you were done," he said.

"No, it's...uh, fine," CeCe said nervously.

He smiled and brought one hand around to the front, a single red rose held between his fingers. "Happy Valentine's Day, sis."

CeCe suddenly found herself blushing and took the flower. "It's beautiful, Logan."

"Just like you."

She scowled playfully at him. "That's so unoriginal."

"But it's true."

She laughed. "Thank you."

"That's not all," Logan said and moved his other hand into view. A black velvet box sat in his palm.

CeCe looked at it warily. "What's that?"

"Well, turn around," Logan said, grinning.

CeCe did as she was told (for once) and turned her back to him. She waited a minute, resisting the urge to glance over her shoulder. A moment later, Logan fastened a chilly silver chain around her neck, causing her to look down at the pendant. It was a simple red rhinestone heart with an arrow through it.

"Do you like it?" Logan asked once she had turned back around to face him.

She nodded. "Maybe every day should be Valentine's Day if you're going to be this sweet."

This time, Logan blushed. "I can be sweet. I'm just choosing to use most of my sweetness up today."

CeCe laughed. "I suppose." Then she frowned and bit her lip. "I didn't get you anything though."

"Sure you did," Logan said with a far too innocent smile. "Two steps closer and I'd have my present already."

CeCe looked over his shoulder where she could see just a sliver of their parents eating breakfast in the kitchen around the corner. "Right here?"

He shrugged. "No. Why not in your room? That's where your last gift is anyhow."

A third present? Yeah, he was definitely loading on the sweetness today. But he was also hoping for sugar in return. "What?" CeCe asked, already moving past him into her room. She looked around as she laid the rose down on her nightstand.

Logan closed the door behind him once he was in the room. "On your bed. Poor little guy must have fallen asleep; you take a horribly long time in the bathroom in the morning." He laughed.

CeCe smacked his stomach playfully before looking back at the bed. Then she saw it. A tiny ginger kitten was curled up on one of her pillows, completely asleep.

"Oh," CeCe breathed, walking over to the bed and sitting down gently. She reached out to brush a fingertip down the bridge of the kitten's nose. "He's precious. Mom actually said yes to a kitten?"

Logan nodded. "I...uh...I've actually been planning this part of the gift for a month. Took some convincing, but they finally agreed."

CeCe smiled. "Thank you so much. He's adorable."

"He reminded me of you. Red hair and spunky personality."

CeCe blushed and stroked the kitten's fur along his spine. "I think the two of us will get along great then." She paused. "I think Valentino would be a fitting name, don't you?"

"Likely," Logan agreed, sitting down beside her.

CeCe smiled and turned her body slightly toward his. "Valentino it is then." She kissed his lips softly, her hand moving to rest on his knee. "And happy Valentine's Day, Logan."
