Life

(life was limited for her but somehow she wanted to live it while she could... even if it meant worse than she thought...)

.

Where did her smile go? What happened to the illuminating glow in her chocolate, almond eyes? She stood in front of the mirror and stared at herself. The person she saw was her nightmare. Hands trembling, she hit the mirror several times until they slide down the shards of glass spilling from the cabinet. All the pain she wanted to inflict upon herself was worthless because she knew that she would be gone in the next few months. Her eyes opened to see that everything about her was still true. This was no dream, it was real.

Her hair was gone.

A life-killing disease was inside of her and her body was slowly losing its battle. She was scared, lost in confusing thoughts that were destroying her bit by bit. Her hope was shattered to crucifying scraps of fire-eating power.

Life was the most precious gift given to her and she didn't want to leave this world so early. Every single day was a brand new adventure and another excuse to act like the child she wanted to be. Feeling young and refreshed was the desire that kept her sane and unified with the rest.

But what this child doesn't understand is that life isn't an easy piece of pie. It's like trying to unravel the mystery of Pandora's Box; there are risks along the way. People are destined to go through pain in unbelievable ways and this was her fate. Death doesn't come with second chances and even if you're lucky to escape once, your life will end quicker than before. For her, she didn't want to die but perhaps it was...

Too late.
