KAORUS POV

So, the party is tonight, and saying I was nervous was probably the understatement of the year. I don't know if Chiyaki's ex is coming or not, I don't know what I'll do, but all I know is that I have got to keep my nerve!

"Kaoru, I wanna wear the tartan suit, you know, the green one?" Hikaru called out from inside the shared walk in wardrobe, I sighed, we had already worn that.

"Can't we wear something more classic? just plain black suits?" I ask, Hikaru popped his orange head out from the wardrobe, frowning slightly at my hesitation. "Dude, low key suits are NOT our thing!" Hikaru replied, and it was true, we usually wore the suits our mother designed, which were always eccentric and loud. "yeah, I know, but it would be a nice change? we may get noticed a bit more if we go low key for once" I mumbled

It would catch Chiyaki's eye.

"Yeah but I'm kinda feeling the red suits that mother got us from Paris, they're made of pure velvet!" He said, pulling two twin suits from the abyss that was our wardrobe (the maids should probably clean that sometime) "nah, it clashes with Chiyaki's hair" I said, whilst absent mindedly picking at the detailed stitching of my bedsheet. It took me too long to realise what I had just said, I dared a glance at Hikaru's expression, but just enough to see the horror in his face.

"Dude"

"I know what I said" I mumbled, still averting my eyes "I plan on telling Chiyaki that I want to be with her tonight."

I finally caught his eyes, they were shining, his face contorted into a... smile?

"Good." he said, grinning at me, "You have been miserable for long enough."

and then he returned to the wardrobe and quickly produced two different suits. One was a fancy, midnight blue suit with a velvet collar, whilst the other was plain black. He tossed the black suit to me with a chuckle "you're gonna want to stand out tonight" he said, winking at me and leaving the room. I couldn't begin to hide my smile

My brother is the best!

CHIYAKI'S POV

A thousand dresses. And I still could NOT decide.

I had made about 30 decisions already, and each time I decided it was just wrong about an hour later. But I need it to be perfect!

It was always hard finding a dress to go with my hair colour, which was a dark red that seemed to clash horribly with any colour. I checked myself over in the mirror: hair hanging around my shoulders, grey eyes looking tired and bothered, and my skin seemed to have lost all colour in the past hour.

I felt daring, that's all I knew, I wanted to wear something that would purposefully shock. And all of my prom style pastel dresses just weren't making an impact. Tonight, I have to stand out.

My phone began to vibrate angrily, I quickly picked it up and flipped through it, and I swear my heart skipped.

Hey Chi, it's Kaoru, you still coming tonight? you owe me a slow dance! (I'm sure you will look beautiful no matter what) ;)

what

wait hang on.

oh my GOD I need to find the perfect dress now!

GENERAL POV

Hikaru looked down at his brothers phone, pretty pleased with Chiyaki's quick reply:

oh yeah! sure! see you there!

He chuckled lightly, what a dork she was, perfect for his brother. They may have had ups and downs but Chiyaki was a good girl, and she genuinely cared for Kaoru. But goddammit they were so slow, he had to do something!

He heard Kaoru walking back down the hall, he quickly placed the phone back where it was, leaping over to the other side of the room near the mess of bow ties.

Kaoru didn't suspect a thing for the rest of the time getting ready, but Hikaru knew that his little text may help out his poor awkward brother's situation.

Firstly I would like to apologise for this being so short, I am actually in the middle of an intense acting course in New York and I haven't had much time. GOOD NEWS IS my strictest teacher says that my acting is magnificent and that I should audition for scholarships here in America! AMERICA! OH MY GOD! sorry I'm just so pleased about that golly gosh.
